SPOILERS:

A big fat ZERO (0) star. And I'm feeling really stupid fir paying almost $5.00 for this book
I stopped in the middle of chapter 7 @33%.
I own my mistakes so the choice to read this book and being very disappointed and annoyed by it is my own fault. I didn't check reviews first. I did after I DNF it, but none of them mentioned the female mc never had the intention to never tell the male mc she was pregnant with his baby. So, they would not be much helpful anyway. But in my defense I thought it was going to be something lighter with some angst. I've got none of those.
So far I got an extremely immature, selfish, judgmental female mc with low morals and deceiving personality.
The cliche after cliche after cliche wouldn't have bothered me so much if the book didn't take a disgusting turn.
Female mc, deliberately was going to hide the baby from the father. She had no plans of telling him at all.
For what I get she was a rich "good " girl who lost her virginity to the "poor bad boy also a foster kid" of town in a night of "letting go" after college graduation.
I couldn't believe the author was going with this attitude. This is an excerpt of the part I confess I got sick and decided to stop. Remembering she was as far in her pregnancy to find out the sex of the baby, so probably around 16-20 weeks.

LUKE?NO, NO WAY. DON'T BE STUPID. I DON'T WANT WORD TO GET OUT THAT HE'S THE FATHER SO THAT SEEMS A REALLY DUMB WAY TO TRY TO HIDE IT (her friend let the male mc name escape when they were talking about baby names and if she named the baby Luke it was going to be a hint of who could be the father). Sickening

SHE WAS EXPOSED FROM NEARLY EVERY DIRECTION. SHE COULD, SHE SUPPOSED, HEAD OVER TO THE BATHROOM, BUT THEN WHAT IF HE SAW HER WALKING AND NOTICED HER BUMP?
(She was trying really hard to find a way to hide from the male mc, so he couldn't see her stomach). Gagging in disgust

THIS WAS IT. THE MOMENT SHE'D THOUGHT WOULD NEVER COME, THAT SHE'D HOPED TO AVOID FOR THE REST OF HER DAYS.
FOR THE LIFE OF HER, SHE COULDN'T THINK WHO MIGHT HAVE TIPPED HIM OFF. ....
(This is when he was approaching her at her table and she realized she didn't have a way to hide the "bump"). Vomit inducing.

Yes, my friends. This self centered, immature, selfish girl would rather raise her baby with the help of her friend instead of having the father involved. She never ever planned to tell the male mc who she didn't get the time or interest to know or finding out if he was really a bad boy.
But I tell you. He wasn't. He was a foster kid along with another man his age another 9 years old boy and another baby boy in a simple family with regular working foster parents. And he actually helped his parents to take care of the little ones.
He liked bike racing and he wasn't rich. He had a dream of opening his own bike shop.
But the heroine wouldn't waste her time to know all these things. She was too worried with her own plans of being hired as the town school nurse and maybe being related to the male mc would spoil her chances.
Cuddles to the author to create an horrible example of a woman and human being. There's no reason to hide a kid/pregnancy from the father. Unless he's a dangerous criminal. And choosing the help of her bff to raise the baby and completely deny the baby the right to have a father. And deny the father the choice to decide if he wants to be involved on the kid's life is one of the most evil things a person can do. I despise people like her. They have zero respect to others rights and needs.

And I’ll add another great review here.

If you're in the mood for a sugar overload and you're not too picky about a stupid and beyond naive heroine, unrealistic scenarios and over the top scenes...you might enjoy it.
I'm not a big fan of that combination hence the low rating.

The heroine is the worst thing about this book.
She is a virgin and has unprotected sex with a sexy stranger... and she wasn't drunk only slightly tipsy.
She's supposed to be trained as a "teaching nurse"...supposed being the KEY word because:
- She doesn’t even think about a "day after" pill >. <
- She doesn’t think about possible diseases
- She seems blank about everything concerning her pregnacy.
The hero knows definitely more than she does.
Her being a "nurse" is clearly just convenient for their first meeting and "bonding".
Also:
She refuses to answer the hero's calls just because she's afraid he'll reject/humiliate her.
Such a spineless and plain stupid girl.
We just see her a month later with a positive pregnacy test.
She chooses to keep the baby and after that she makes the worse decisions.
The biggest?
She decides not to tell him ANYTHING.
She's going to be a mommy!
The best mommy possible!
YEAH...right....with no prospects or income or close support (with the exception of her best friend/irresponsible party girl).
She says she'll "figure it out".
description
description

The Hero is the ONLY reason why I kept on reading.
At 4 months along he discovers she's pregnant and he does all the right things.
He was great and so was his family.
I'm rounding the rating up to 2 stars just because of him.

I liked the premise of this book but it failed in execution. I didn't like the heroine's choices. There were scenes missing that would have helped round out the story. This just seemed like an outline really. Plus books really benefit from words like 'later that day' or 'a week later'. There was no description and I didn't really get to know either character well enough to really care about them. Not awful but needs more work to be a complete story.

I just have to stop with this stuff....can't I just learn a lesson and stop going back to trash?

Yeah so, great nothing book to pass a couple hours but all the while I'm left questioning all of the women I sell to who fawn over stuff like this and I just.... cringe.

Please do not take my currently reading history as who I am as a person.

Luke and Tawny have a one night stand that leads them down a path that neither of them had expected. Luke is ready to leave the small town he's lived in his whole life behind. Tawny is the good girl who is graduating college and lives life in a very safe manner. She never strays very far out of her box. The night she decides to let loose with Luke is the most alive she has ever felt. She is left with a forever reminder of that night. Luke and Tawny didn't expect to start a family or even be together, but maybe fate is telling them differently.

I really liked this story. Both Tawny and Luke's characters spoke to me. Luke's part of a family that raises foster kids and he loves his parents even though they have nothing. Tawny doesn't have a support system and is alone except for her best friend. Her plan was always to be a nurse in a school and that was it. I loved how even when Luke was thrown for a loop, he stood by Tawny and wanted to do what was right.

The writing was good and I loved the characters. I would have loved more of Luke and Tawny's story as they fell in love with each other. They are put in this very difficult situation and we see them fall in love, but I'd have loved more of the getting to know you details. Also, the Rex and Suzette who are very close to Tawny and Luke, it's hinted that they may or may not have something going on, but we are kind of left hanging. Maybe they will get their story told, too. Good read.

The editing was fine. The plot was not. Total strangers but they love each other out if nowhere. They spend little to no time together. She's always making the decision to live her life without him regardless of what he wants. They don't talk. She never asks. The same pattern all through the book. I'd give this one a pass. There's far far better books out there.

KNOCKED UP was a sweet story, but not much more. You get what the title promises - a kinda surprise pregnancy of a girl who only this once decided to live a little. It's very predictable.

I had some serious problems with Tawny. For one, how can she pursue a career as a school nurse when she cannot even care for herself in taking the morning after pill after she had unprotected sex?? Then she was sitting on her high horse, looking down on sweet and loveable Luke, who may not come from money, but did everything - and I mean everything - right when it came to her. I never even felt a spark of sympathy for her. Luke deserved so much better.

Looking past the heroine, it's a sweet story if you're looking for something light and flirty.

This was my first Sophie Daniels audio book and it was thanks to her I didn't quit halfway through the book. I'll have a look at her other works for sure.

A lovely accidental pregnancy storyline. I enjoyed how Luke really took in the role of dad to be and preotector of the lonely virgin he unknowingly defiled.
The side characters Rex and Sierra added a light hearted edge to the tale and I enjoyed all of Luke's family getting involved and helping them prepare for parenthood.

DNF @ 19%.

This was boring as hell but free on Kindle so that's the price I take.

Also, while searching for this book on GR, I realised there's SO. MANY. BOOKS. With the title "Knocked Up". It was hilarious to sift through…

I enjoyed this one! It was a sweet story.

We meet Tawny, who is the good girl who follows the rules and never lets loose. She was a girl who was struggling on her own. Without her parents who were basically inexistent, she lived in a small country town where her only family was her best friend Suzette. Her dream is to be a teacher, but the first time she decides to live a little, life knocks her on her ass.

I adored Luke. He was struggling to leave the town to open a bike shop, but his leaving is delayed by an accident at a race. He meets Tawny there and he is immediately drawn to her. He likes her a lot, but when she does not reach back to him he is frustrated. For the firs time in his life he is interested in a girl who apparently wants nothing to do with him. What I liked the most about Luke was how down to earth he was. He had this big dreams but as soon as he found out about his baby, there is no way he thought to leave them behind. I liked how he never thought at this like his life was ruined. He was mature enough to know what his priorities were. He was father material and real insecure at times. Every time Tawny pushed him away he was struggling to understand why she thought he was not enough.

They really needed to communicate. There were so many arguments that could have been easily avoided if they just...talked. But, you know, they were both two strangers who knew nothing about each other but were going to have a kid together. I understood their fears and I understood Tawny's reason to leave Luke in the end. I wouldn't want the man I love to be with me and give up on his dreams only because I was pregnant either.

What touched me the most in this book is how Luke's family was. They did not have much, they were basically living on coupons, but they loved each other. Luke always wondered why his parents kept giving and giving, why did they have to take in foster kids when they barely have enough clothes for each of them. But when he sees the ultra-sound of his kid, he understands why. Because they're your kids and you'd do anything to see them smile. Luke's mother was a sweetie. She tried so much to welcome Tawny in their family, she tried her best to be a good mother. It made me cry most of the book, really. It shows how love does not stay in money, but in small acts.

Their story will stay for a long time with me.

Knocked Up by USA Today bestselling author Christine Bell is a Young Adult Romance

Honor roll student and all-around goody-goody Tawny Mitchell dreams of being a nurse whereas bad boy and rolling stone Luke Anderson dreams of leaving town to open his own bike shop ... until their one night stand has unexpected consequences. When Luke finds out that Tawny's pregnant with his baby, he fights to be a part of their child's life. Luke is with Tawny every step of the way and they can't help falling in love. When Tawny finds out about Luke's dream of opening a bike shop, she decides to push Luke away so that he won't have to give up his dreams. What Tawny doesn't know is that Luke's priorities have changed and he's planning to propose to her. Luke is heartbroken when Tawny tells him "I don't want some life where I'm stuck with you forever just because we had a baby together." Is this the end for them?

Knocked Up is angsty, sweet and steamy. Christine Bell has paired a heartwarming story and likeable characters for a book I read in one go.

A feel good love story. The title gives a little hint that Tawny and Luke aren't going to have a one night stand. She's graduated and ready to start her life as a school nurse. He's well on his way to leaving town to start his own dream a motorcycle repair shop.

One time, one night and while still very attracted to Luke, she can't tell him. She'd never called him back, he'd never forgotten her. When he runs into her and her situation is obvious things change.

It's a touching, sometimes emotional, steamy, and touching love story. The two are young and not ready for a family. One has maybe a little too much family the other no family at all. Watching the two find their future is a good feeling read. You'll feel for them and root for them. When they act stupid you want to tell them to knock it off. I'll warn you that there is a scene with a giraffe ... well, you'll need to read that for yourself.
I give this one a strong recommendation.
This is my honest review of this advance reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

Graduating college with her nursing degree, Tawny is on her way to her dream life. Luke is one race away from reaching his dream of opening his bike shop. Little do these two know their chance meeting will change their lives forever. An unexpected pregnancy makes the two reevaluate their life dreams and what their future will be. The question is will the two have the same ideas? With Luke, he has some definite ideas of what should happen. Being a child from the foster care system, but lucky enough to be adopted by wonderful parents, Luke knows what he wants when he finds out about the baby. Tawny is sure she can make it in her own, despite her love for Luke. Christine Bell has written a well balanced new adult story with lots of feels. Its is easy to become invested with this couple, and you can't help but root for that happy ending. The supporting characters are key, especially Luke's mom. Her advice and warm heart make you feel right at home and comfortable with her influence throughout the story. I also loved the support that Suzette and Rex gave both Luke and Tawny. They gave some depth and humor through the book.

My first listen to Sophie Daniels, I found her voice to be perfectly suited for this genre. New adult is particular and needs a youthful voice but not teenage sounding. I found Daniels to have an age appropriate voice with distinctive sounding genders. She has good pacing and gave an enjoyable performance.

Tawny MItchell has big dreams. That is until she goes to a party with a friend and ends up with using her nursing skills on one of the cycle racers. One thing leads to another, and Tawny’s decision to let go with Luke Anderson seems like a good one at the time. Tawny isn’t one to let her hair down, and when she does, her life will not be the same.

Her one night with Luke ends up being so much more. I really liked how everything played out with Luke and Tawny. She holds onto her independence and doesn’t spend a lot of time feeling sorry for herself. She’s not looking for much from Luke but he has an entirely different take on where he fits in Tawny’s life and when Tawny finds she’s falling for Luke, things hit a bump in the road.

Knocked Up is a fairly straightforward tale of unplanned pregnancy and all that comes with it. The romance that develops is sweet and touching, especially as Luke shows Tawny how much fun sex can be! I liked Tawny and Luke and the story is perfectly sized for an quick read.

My Thoughts on Knocked Up

This was a short and sweet contemporary romance where one moment changes the course of two people's lives forever. Luke and Tawny's first meeting was full of injury, passion, and then a goodbye. Neither knew if they'd see each other again both having goals they were trying to achieve for themselves. But that first meeting set their lives on a whole new path.

Both main characters were likeable. Despite making some poor choices for themselves and each other, neither of them seemed to be acting maliciously. They just had moments of poor communication, insecurities, and assumptions made. But without all that there wouldn't have been much of a story. All in all I really liked it and I wouldn't mind reading more from this author.

The narrator did a really good job of switching back and forth with the different accents and it helped with clearly distinguishing the different characters. I would be interested in hearing more from her in future.

Luke is a bad boy, or so everyone thinks, and he can't wait to move out of his small hometown to open his own garage. Tawny is a good girl, working her way through school and looking forward to starting a job as a school nurse. Then Luke and Tawny meet at a party by the lake and things get a bit out of hand. Luke tried to catch up with the intriguing young woman for several weeks but she never responded to his calls/texts. Just when he's ready to move on, he runs into her at the diner and *gasp* discovers that she's pregnant. Luke tries to do the right thing by being there for Tawny but she's so used to not having anyone around that she keeps pushing him away. Will Tawyn push too hard? Will Luke give up? This was a great story of 2 ppl who had preconceived notions about the other and had to learn to communicate. Wonderful epilogue that warmed the heart.

Christine Bell is back with a book that surprised me with its sweetness, heat and heart. Yes that seems an odd combination but the author has done a fantastic job of weaving them all together to bring you what I think as not a traditional romance story in Knocked Up.

Tawny and Luke were so adorably sweet that I found myself unable to put the book down as I watched them fall for each other and the little life they created in ass backwards fashion.

Yes it wasn't what either had planned for their futures but sometimes life has other ideas and sets things in motion that clearly were meant to be. Like Tawny and Luke's love story.

If you want the perfect summer read, then look no further than this book. Grab a comfy spot, a cool drink and hang the do not disturb sign and dive in. You won't be sorry.

Cute story! Likable characters and a feel-good HEA make this quick read an enjoyable one.

The first 25% or so seemed a bit extraneous, though, given the title--we all knew what was coming, and were just waiting for the characters to get caught up. Once they did--well, Tawny did anyway; we had to wade through a period of non-communication on her part, a trend she continued for much of the book--things picked up fast. Luke, for all of his I-gotta-get-out-of-this-town-ASAP, was a really stand up guy, and easy to root for. Tawny had a few more issues, which were fairly understandable even if her tendency to OTT react on her own was the main cause of their conflict.

She came around when it counted, though, which made their ending all the much sweeter.

Luke is ready to get out of the small town in Louisiana and become a motorcycle mechanic. Tawny has just completed nursing school and is ready to find a job in a school system. When the two meet at a bonfire in town, sparks fly and they end up in bed together. They never see each other again until Tawny becomes pregnant. She still doesn't contact Luke, figuring she'll be raising the child alone. When she runs into Luke months later at a diner, he sees what'll be happening in a few months and suddenly wants to be a part of it all. This was a sweet read between two people who want to make a go at life outside of the small town but find themselves in a situation. Good read.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

Normal girl meets guy and ends up expexting

The story was a very comfy romance with baby due. They had all the normal leave him so he can have his dream, and I wanna be a dad drama. It had it's laugh out loud moments and awwwe so sweet ones. The actual highlight to me was the very end, she expecting baby two and him getting a three year old to a face your father moment. That was very nicely done if a little too easy. My toddler never minded that quickly no matter who or what was said, and many a time swallowed the evidence making the toilet cut off valve and gloves a staple for about two years.
All said and done, a quick evening read with some nice memories of mommyhood for this over 50 mom.

Great read!

Tawny had one thing one her mind! Graduating college, making a life, and then having a family. Being a military brat she always dreamed of having s big family! She didn’t plan on that happening so soon rather than later and with a man she barely knew!

Luke wanted out of town! And to own his own bike shop. He knew it would happen just didn’t know when! Something else he didn’t plan was having a baby so soon and with a woman he barely knew.

Emotions run high from anger to eventually love but does fate and minds have different plans?

Could not put this book down! Loved it!

This was a rather fast, sort of short & sweet story. Actually would've liked if it was longer and the author had gone more into their relationship as it develops.

Had expected the male lead to be an asshole type of character but he was the opposite - a truly great guy.
Lead lady - not sure what I expected, but she was ok. Her best friend's awesome, support no matter what.

I'd say if you have some free time and are in the mood for a light & sort of fluffy story - this is it ;)

Cute

I wasn't a big fan of Tawny. I don't understand how she could have made the decisions by herself when it takes 2 to make a baby. I'm everything throughout the story she made the decisions she took control. I am thinking he didn't make any because she could have easily taken their son away from him. This was definitely not something to be happy about and I didn't understand how he could take her back.
