I've come to New York purely on business. The usual boring meetings with other politicians. I don't expect my time here to be exciting in the slightest.
But who's that woman I met this morning? No, girl. That would be a more accurate term for her. She's only twenty-one years old. A college student. Someone who shouldn't get mixed up with a guy like me.
But I can't get her out of my mind. Every single time I close my eyes, I see her face. How can someone I just met do this to me? That's the kind of stuff that happens in movies. Not real life.
I know this will be a dangerous risk for me, but I can't help it. I want her. I need her. And whatever it may do to my career, I won't stop until I have her.
Mr. Prescott is a standalone New Adult Romance novel told entirely from the point of view of the male lead.
Carlos Dash is the pen name for a married couple, who both enjoy steamy stories about arrogant men falling in love. And their stories always end on a happy note.
Okay, so let's get one thing out of the way. Because the female lead is only 21, I'm on board with advertising age gap for this book, but the man is only 38, older man advertising is misleading .... IMO.
I know I'm about to sound like I didn't care for this book, but that isn't the case. It was just okay for me. Nothing to write home about. It didn't wow me, but it didn't bore me either, so there's that ....
The relationship, if you can even call it that, between Mr. Prescott (Nathan) and Nicole was very superficial. There wasn't much depth to the journey and there wasn't much depth to the characters. Like I said. It's an okay read. As for rating, the book is a solid middle of the road rating for me.
This was reviewed on behalf of Book Addict.live, This is described as an Older Man Romance, it seems to be quite the thing at the moment. This is not what I thought it would be. I found a very sweet love story with lots of sex added in. This is first Carlos Dash book I’ve read and won’t be the last. This book was exactly as described by Carlo Dash “If you enjoy happy endings and steamy tales about couples falling in love quickly my stories are for you". This is a bit of unusual story when the youngest hottest Mayor of London visits New York who happens to go into a book shop and finds the love of his live. At first he can’t believe he should see her again because she is only 21 and he is 38. What starts a fling soon feels much more, and a man of 38 would know when something feels different. Nathan thinks to wine and dine and that’s it. Love and lust quickly arrives and before we know its love. The only thing I found unconvincing is having an attractive Mayor of London, being a brit that was the hardest thing to believe. Lol If you want a quick read with insta love and some good sex then this is for you. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
I was really looking forward to this because I love "forbidden" romance. But this was such a disappointment!
From the start, I struggled with the whole idea that as a Mayor, Prescott had so much power and influence over people in a COMPLETELY different city. If he was in London, sure, I could see how tossing his name around to the book store owner would freak him out. But doing it in NYC? Doesn't seem probable to me. I couldn't even name you the Mayor of London currently but maybe I'm just out of touch and am ignorant of the way people of authority in the world are.
There isn't much to the plot because there isn't much to the dialogue. Even the forbidden aspect wasn't utilized for its full potential and just came across as lacklustre to me.

Stephannie's 4 Star Review:
Mr. Prescott came to New York on business. All he had planned is boring meetings with politicians; after all he is the Mayor of London. He meets a girl that he can't stop thinking about. She is only 21 years old and she shouldn't get mixed up with a guy like Mr. Prescott. He wants her and although it could be dangerous risk for a politician to be interested in a much younger women. He doesn't care he must have her regardless what happens with his career.
Mr. Prescott is a standalone novel told from Mr. Prescott's POV. I really liked this book. It is a different and some people might not like the age difference. But it didn't matter for me. It was a good romantic story about two very different people that make a connection. I thought it was well written and a good shorter story.
AUTHOR BIO: I’m a guy who likes to cut right to the chase, so here we go: I’m a male author of Romance/Erotica novels that are told entirely from the POV of the male protagonist. If you enjoy happy endings and steamy tales about people falling in love quickly, my stories are for you.
I'm just going to get this out of the way - Nathan Prescott is a bit of a self absorbed, arrogant ass. I didn't really like him as a character.
That said, if you like your stories with a healthy helping of instalove, then this will be right up your street. For me, although the book was technically well written, with rounded characters, I did struggle a little with the apparent depth of the connection between the two protagonists, particularly given the age of the male lead. His reaction was, for me at least, far more consistent with a younger man.
However, that niggle aside, this is a hot, diverting little read. At only 162 pages, the author has nevertheless managed to cram a lot into a reasonably restricted word count.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I liked the story. It's pure fiction, which is the reason why 48 hours is enough time to start a happily ever after. The one thing that disappointed me was the number of errors in prose. Even the female protagonist name was switched once, lol. I was like, who the heck is Emily?
I was really wanting to love this one. I thought it was ok. The writing was ok, the storyline was ok. It didn't feel very deep almost like a teenage infatuation. I did read an ARC so hopefully the editing errors will be fixed before publication.
Mr Prescott is the new Mayor of London. The youngest in history. He has to pay the obligatory official visit to New York and do his duties. Meetings with the politicians. Being nice and cheerful during photo shoots, with his bodyguards always in attendance.
He plays the tourist during his downtime. How can one not visit such a beautiful city whenever the opportunity arises? He goes to a bookstore in search of a book when he overhears the manager chastising one of the employees. Being a pompous, I mean perfect English gentleman, he can hardly stand by and watch someone being bullied. He isn't very subtle about his approach. He is more the presumptuous type. "Do you know who I am?" That's bound to get him noticed.
When he sets eyes on Nicole, the young girl being reprimanded, something stirs in him and he gets the urge of asking her out to dinner. He puts a lot of thought into the preparation and surprises her. She is pleasantly surprised. He wants her but, the age difference makes him think twice. Not for long! Soon he is showing her his bedroom prowess in all sorts of ways. She is very responsive even when it's uncharted territories for her. It's only for one night. Right?
He finds himself back at the bookstore the next day, inviting Nicole for dinner, yet again. Only this time, he chooses a different method. Even though, she is younger than him, she makes him think about the way the staff should be treated. Points for her, all round! Another night full of fantasies follows. Time to say goodbye and return to London. What he doesn't expect is, how he feels about walking away from her! She is a student in New York. He has his duties in London. Can he come up with a life changing solution? Quite a challenge!
This is quite a cheesy novel but, it has its own humourous appeal. Mr Prescott is vain and full of himself and yet as the story develops, he starts showing some humility. Nicole is a hardworking student who knows where she is going in life. A sensible girl, until she meets him.
It's a quick and easy to read story with an unexpectedly pleasant conclusion. It's only suitable for 18+ readers due to the graphic sexual interactions.
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
Mr. Prescott is a quick, enjoyable read! Mr. Prescott is the youngest mayor of London, and he has come to NYC on business. He self-confident and definitely enjoys the company of women. Nicole is a college student working in a bookstore when the two meet. She is being belittled by her boss for being late when Mr. Prescott swoops in and defends her. He isn’t sure what has happened, but he knows his world has just turned on its axis with his first look at Nicole. She isn’t the type of woman he is usually attracted to. In fact, she is much younger, a college student. He knows he shouldn’t get involved with her for several reasons…he’s leaving, and she is much younger than he is. As the saying goes, “the heart wants what it wants.” What begins as an innocent dinner turns into much, much more. Mr. Prescott finds himself at risk of losing his heart.
This book stands out in the romance genre as it is an older man being involved with a younger woman. However, he is just 38, and she is 22. It is also told solely from his POV which I liked. You don’t come across a great many books strictly from a male’s POV. Despite the fact that the timeline moves quickly, I did learn a good bit about his character because it is told through him. Readers are limited in their knowledge of Nicole because of that. But, I did see some depth of her character through his perception. I would love to see the story told through her eyes. That would be quite intriguing.
It happens over a very quick span of time, and the two of them fall for each other very quickly. Some readers may not think that is realistic, but it is a work of fiction. It actually reminded me of a fairy tale for adults. Fairy tales are still some of my favorite stories. Who doesn’t like reading about a handsome man sweeping a woman off of her feet? Granted, Mr. Prescott is a far cry from the Prince Charming in a fairy tale, but that’s why I loved him. Nicole is definitely not a damsel in distress. I loved the two of them together. They seemed to bring out different parts of each other’s personalities that others didn’t often see. I definitely recommend reading if you like a quick, sexy romance with a HEA!

Mr Prescott by Carlos Dash was a quick and cute read. Nathan Prescott, mayor of London, is visiting New York for a few days in a formal visit. One day, whilst out walking (to the dismay of his guards), he ventures into a bookshop. There he finds a young woman being rather harshly chastised by her manager for being a few minutes late to work. Gallant Nathan intervenes, and afterwards, asks the woman, Nicole, to dinner.
But Nicole isn't just another fling to him. For one, she's about a decade younger. And she makes him feel like no other woman has before. After a night of passion, Nicole flees, distressed by the thought of getting used to Nathan's lavish lifestyle even for a few days. He wants to let her go. There's no good answer to those concerns but to respect them. Yet, Nathan can't stop thinking about her.
I'm unabashedly an Anglophile. I love British/ English culture. Taught a cultural awareness class on it for a time. I don't know if the authors behind the pen name are British, but I appreciated the depth of cultural and linguistic detail to the story.
'In England, insulting someone is an art form’ <- that line, right there. I'm dying. Such truth.
I liked that the story was from Nathan’s, first person POV, often close to stream of consciousness, that mental inner monologue we keep up in our heads. It added extra insight into his personality and thinking. We get to see the insecurities he's not showing outwardly. I was rather amused that it is marketed as an 'older man’ romance. Nathan is younger than me. Yea, I'm a little slow. I get now that it simply meant a disparity in ages.
I'm not as familiar with romance genre. Not my cup of tea, generally. This was a case of 'instant love’, which I found a bit cheesy, and definitely unrealistic, but that's just me. I know it's a trope, and a thing people go for, and that romance is a different sort of escapism and suspension of belief than sci-fi/fantasy.
The writing often felt stilted. Not bad, mind. It just felt like it wasn't fully polished yet. Another spellcheck is recommended. There were some homophone errors, though nothing to take away from the story.
📚📚📚📚 Recommended if you like sexy Brits, instant love, and happy ever after romance.
Mr. Prescott is the new and youngest mayor of London. It has been a tradition that the new mayor of London will visit New York and meet the politicians there. There might be no way out of it, but he was glad that he was able to see New York for the first time. Bringing him also in a stop when he saw the bookstore while touring the city. He entered it while his bodyguards wait for him and inside, he saw a girl who was being reprimanded by his manager and even if he doesn’t like to barge in, he decided to help the girl. But what that girl did to him was unexpected for him as he was never able to feel that way before. He wants her more than anything else.
This is a story where age doesn’t matter. It was told from a male lead character’s POV. I guess, him narrating the story was a nice change for me because most of the books I’d read was told mostly by women. I like the story-line, but the way it was narrated was not very compelling for me. All I ever see was Mr. Prescott thinking all throughout the story on how beautiful Nicole is, how he wants her, how he likes her, how is she very different from all his girls, etc. Maybe, because it was a guy’s thought? I’m not sure, but even if it was like that, this book is still a nice read for me.
The main character might look at himself highly, but I can say that he is developing into a better man as the story goes. The plot is good too. Maybe, what I just don’t like in the story was the fact that it did not leave a wow factor on me. I finished reading it with just me saying, “Ok, this was good but not enough for me to really like it.”
Overall, this is a steamy romance novel that I’m recommending for romance lovers to read. If you also like characters falling in love wherein their age has a big gap, then you should try this one too.
Disclaimer: I received an advance reader’s copy from Xpresso Book Tours.
After reading this story I was blown away of how much connection Nathan and Nicole,
Nicole was a 21 year old student that was training to be a doctor and she worked in a bookstore after running late her boss was having a go at her like she was a little kid that's when Nathan Prescott came to her rescue, being the mayor of London has a got some perks to it after confronting Nicole's boss he couldn't get Nicole out his head he invited her to dinner at his hotel in his head there was no sexual intent just dinner Nicole said she would come at 8pm with to his hotel.
When Nathan and Nicole get together the connection between them is amazing brilliantly wrote and the characters are in sync with everything they do
I am giving this book 4/5

A contemporary romance told entirely from the male perspective? Yes please! This was a really great, quick read. A quickie. *xP* I really like Nathan's character. He might be a mayor, but there's a bit of a hidden, cocky bad-boy in him. And I love bad boys. Always will. He acts a little like a knight in shining armor when Nicole's boss is being a jerk to her. He's not a terrible character. Really great book!
I’m hooked with the simple plot and a few characters. This is a kind of story that you want to read when you have a bad day or you simply having a rest day. No hard twist and no love triangles, just a romantic story that will surely put a smile on your face.
I read it in one sitting and it only means one thing, I love the story! I was all smiles and couldn’t help but be jealous of Nicole! So lucky to have Nathan! I’m satisfied from the beginning until the end. Great job Carlos Dash!
Dialogue can be tricky and the first-person narrative is also a hard one to deliver. Sadly, Mr. Prescott fails to adequately deliver on both. I don't know if Carlos Dash is a pseudonym, but I did not find that Carlos adequately nor believable captured the male pov. I had a hard time with the narrative not because of the May-December romance (although it barely makes this distinction IMO) but because the dialogue was just too stilted to overlook.
