Leann Anderson has spent the last fifteen years living far away and only coming home to visit. She’s enjoyed her freedom but she misses her family. In town for her high school reunion, she thinks this just might be the right time to move back. Zach Gibson thinks Leann is lovely and sweet, but as the little sister of his employer she’s completely off limits. Look but do not under any circumstances touch. Per the bro-code, he’ll simply have to admire her from afar. So it’s a surprise when Leann’s brothers start to encourage Zach to spend time with her, pushing them together at every opportunity. Those Anderson men are up to something and Zach’s determined to find out what it is. But as the dead bodies of Leann’s friends begin turning up at the reunion, Zach realizes they have a much bigger problem. There might be a serial killer on the loose in Tremont. And Leann just might be his next target…

Between 2-3 stars. There were parts I liked, parts that felt underdeveloped, and a rather disappointing epilogue that left me flat. I think that final taste was part of why I just can't round up to 3 stars.
Leann Anderson (h) has come back in town for her 15th high school reunion. She had moved away from Tremont after high school in an effort to establish herself away from her famous family name. As her brothers and cousins establish their families, though, she is missing her family and considering moving back home. Unfortunately, the reunion has also raised some old ghosts, and a killer is attacking people at the reunion - people who happen to be in Leann's old social circle. Her older brothers - worried for her safety - arrange for Zach (H), one of their security firm, to watch over Leann while investigating the murders. Zach is torn between loyalty to his friends and employers, his duty to solving the case, and his growing attraction to Leann. Will these two stand a chance when faced with a serial killer, an overprotctive, testosterone-laden family, and a potential 3000 mile distance?
The romance itself was kinda blah. I liked Leann and Zach alright, but there really wasn't much of a hurdle to overcome. At least not in the romance (obviously the whole murderer thing is a hurdle). They had a good sense of humor about Jason and West's meddling, but really, once they (especially Zach) decided that the Andersons' opinions didn't matter, the romance was pretty smooth sailing.
I really liked that Leann stood up to her brother - an actually pretty adult conversation, considering everything. And I liked that Gigi had her back, too. West totally deserved to be on the couch. As Gigi pointed out - this was her own brother that West was saying wasn't good enough for Leann, would just hurt Leann. West was being a prime example of testosterone poisoning, rather hypocritical, too, and totally deserved getting called out. Way to go, ladies! As proud of I was of Leann for this conversation, though, she was surprisingly immature when talking to Zach. I get it - different when it's family. It was just quite a difference.
I wasn't dissatisfied with the suspense, but it could have been filled out more. Some parts were more obvious, some felt a little forced, but overall, it kept me reading to find out what happened (more so than the romance, actually - like I said, that side of the story was low-drama). I've quite a few thoughts on the suspense, but all deal with the case, so several spoilers here:
One of my biggest disappointments was the epilogue. An epilogue is the point of the story where things are wrapped up, where we get that look at the couple's HEA, something a little bit down the road. It's supposed to be a warm'n'fuzzy HEA moment and/or be introducing characters to set up the next book in the series. Don't get me wrong - we get the HEA moment, the conclusion to Leann and Zach's story. But it just wasn't satisfying for me. While I enjoyed the conclusion and proposal and all for the couple, Leann's personal conclusion just left me highly dissatified.
Alternating 3rd person POV, mostly from the leads, but occasionally side characters. No cheating with the leads, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle messiness. Two people brought together by a high school reunion, kept together by a murder investigation and by meddlesome brothers. Decent suspense (kept me reading) but resolved with a rather weak solution. Very low-drama romance, but I did like them together; there just wasn't a lot of challenge to them getting together. HEA with no cliffhanger.
Would I read more in the series/by this author? Sure. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't something that really grabbed me either. Maybe because I started in the middle of the series, so everything was already established? Still, it wasn't bad either and I'd be willing to read more, especially if they were also free finds on Kindle.
Leann is home for her fifteenth high school class reunion. She only comes home every once in a while and her family wants her to move back. When two of her classmates are murdered, her brother’s company investigates. Since it’s two members of the group she hung out with in high school, they think she could be in danger too so she is assigned a bodyguard. Zach is former military and now works for the Anderson’s company. He becomes her shadow and sticks with her twenty four/seven. Then more of her classmates are killed and they ramp up their security around Leann. When Leann finds out her brothers are trying to manipulate her into coming back, she turns the table on them. While hunting for a killer, Zach and Leann find it’s not so bad being stuck together. Can they find the killer before they kill again?
The story up to the end is suspenseful but the end is anticlimactic. There were several mistakes in grammar that had me reading several times to understand it. I loved the brothers and that Leann didn’t let them get away with their interference of her life. Sexual content and language.
Leann returns home for a high school reunion that turns deadly. Leann Anderson is the sister of West and Jason. Jason has a plan on how to catch the murderer, but not before he claims more victims. Someone is targeting Leann's friends and that puts a target on Leann. Zach is tasked with Leann duty. Zach works for Jason and he is also West's brother in law. Leann is kind, smart and sexy, a good match for Zach's rugged, muscled hotness.......oh Zach's smart too. Did I mention he's HOT ! Leann is off limits, the bro code and all that....That is until they get a push from someone they never expected. Will Zach be able to keep Leann safe or will their time together run out? A WELL WRITTEN, VERY INTRIGUING WHODUNNIT ! AWESOME CHARACTERS ! So nice to read about the familiar characters from the series. SUSPENSEFUL AND COMPELLING ! WICKED ATTRACTION AND SCORCHING HOT SEX ! ! ! A DEFINITE MUST READ !
I am rounding my three and a half stars up to four. I felt this book dragged and was boring at times. Leann Anderson flies home for her fifteenth high school class reunion. On the eve of the reunion a classmate is murdered. The second day another classmate is murdered. Jason asks Zach to watch over Leann as these two girls hung out w Leann in school. He is attracted to Leanne but understands the bro-code.
West is reminding Zach about the bro-code while Jason tells West that if Leann likes Zach maybe she will move back home. Leann and Zach figure out the shenanigans and fight back. Note: Leann is treated like a kid from her whole family, I wish she would have just spelled it out to all of them. Also, she has a problem with her parents being wealthy and she gets called, one of the Anderson’s. I wanted to say grow up this isn’t high school.
The night of the reunion a classmate is killed and another goes missing. Zach and Jason are putting their thinking caps on while keeping an eye on Leann. I like to be surprised but even I figured out who the killer was.
Bottom line I am glad I read it, keeps the continuity of the stories going.
This was a great book - it kept me intrigued and involved - I didn't even cheat and read the end (like I do on a regular basis!).
The characters were well written - I have perhaps one little complaint but then this is fiction and if the author wants that then she can have it. Zach was an excellent H and enough time had passed that it made sense for him to be in the employ of Jason from the first book. I did wonder what had happened to Wyatt (one of my favourite characters).
The plot line was excellent and had me second guessing almost to the end, it was practically the denouement before I guessed the guilty party.
As Leann Anderson deplanes to go to her class reunion, she’s greeted with the news that one of her classmates was brutally bludgeoned to death the night before. Having one brother as town mayor and the other running a security firm is handy since it seems to be a string of murders and Leann could be a target.
Working the theory that the culprit is one of Leann’s classmates, Zach Gibson is assigned as Leann’s personal security, her date for reunion activities. Zach’s semi-puzzled to get the assignment, he and Leann have been interested but have had a look but don’t touch relationship. This weekend is changing all the rules between them. Rating: 4stars
I've enjoyed many of Olivia's books, but none in this series. Shame on me! I definitely plan to remedy that, with the next book. I'm not going to go into this story, as I'm sure you already know, what it's about. I can promise you won't be disappointed. Several murders. Humor. Sex. And intrigue. What more could you want?? I would especially like to thank Olivia, for having her books in Kindle Unlimited!! I read at least two books a day. I would never be able to afford, even one of her books a day. So, thank you!! Keep using your talent, in writing great books!!
The Reunion Serial Killer is tormenting the town. Zach Gibson has been tasked to protect his boss’s little sister, Leann Anderson. Zach isn’t a stranger to Leann, as his sister is married to Leann’s brother. As they spend more time together they develop a friendship and more. With their family connections, it does make their budding relationship more complicated. The identity of the killer is guarded, and kept me guessing. Jason Anderson’s law enforcement consulting agency work to stop the murderer and keep Leann safe. It’s always entertaining when these former cops get join forces.
Another murder mystery surrounding the Anderson's Leann has come home for her 15year high school reunion and it all goes wrong when a murder is committed her brothers believe she needs a body guard until the murderer is found that happens to be Zach the are very attracted to each other but because she is the sister of his employers he tried to keep his distance. However more murders follow and in the end they cannot ignore their feelings and love blossoms. They eventually find the murderer and these two have their happy ever after. A good book.
Leann is back in town for her high school reunion, but someone is killing most of there class and that's where Zach comes in he works for her brothers security company and it also seems like they are trying to set them up. Zach will be in charge of keeping Leann safe and finding the killer before he or she gets to Leann. I loved this story the mystery and suspense and overprotective brothers and a charming man that will protect his lady at any costs.
Leann returns home to attend a school reunion, when some of her friends from her social circle start turning up dead. It appears someone is after those from her social circle and that puts Leann in danger. Her brothers put Zach in charge of her protection, but ultimately their attraction to each other starts to bleed through all their interactions and they refuse to let it pass them by.
Loved this! So great to see Zach getting his turn at happiness finally. The whole murder at the high school reunion was interesting, as was how they worked to solve the case. Leann and Zach are great together and they both have to sort through some insecurities to find the happiness that they want. Seeing her stand up to her brothers was great, I love the Sanderson family dynamic. I’m loving this series and can’t wait to read more.
I started this book about the same time I received an invitation for my high school reunion, hmmmm, to go or not to go. Zack and LeAnn get thrown together when she needs a body guard to attend her high school reunion. They knew each other for awhile and felt an attraction but she lived in another state. Leann's friends are dropping daily - who's next? Will Zach be able to keep LeAnn safe, figure out the killer and convince LeAnn to move home??
Storyline okay, author cannot keep character's name consistent.
Storyline okay, author cannot keep character's name consistent. Main character's mother in past books and in this book until chapter 17 was Eileen but in chapter 17 changes to Elaine. Proofreading is non-existent. Author doesn't keep the method of one character's murder consistent. Disappointed in the lack of consistency and craftsmanship in this book.
Leann comes home for a school reunion and her family just want her to stay home. With her over protective brothers will she and Zach be able to find out if they are a match. Friends from school are being murdered and who could be doing this and Leann is next , can Zach keep her safe?? Download and find out
Leann only daughter in the Anderson clan is finally home - but is it for good or just for reunion? She'll need to survive reunion to decide. Fortunately Zach is assigned to watch over her and may be the push she needs to come home for good. Along the way she'll get revenge on her meddling brothers and maybe even find true love.
This one is just as great as the others. We get the only Anderson female story in this and its so good. 4 murders, lots of suspects and chemistry off the charts. Throw in overprotective brothers and a sister that doesn't take it and you get some good laugh out loud moments as well.
The love story of LeAnn and Zach. LeAnn Anderson has return home from two reason, one for her high school reunion and to return home. On a girls night out one of her old friend is murder. Zach is put on the care. WILK he solve the case before someone else is kill? Great story.
Men and their "Bro Code" mindset. LOL Ms. Jaymes hit in on the head with that. Then you have brothers who like to protect their sister. Men and their thinking. I stayed up reading this book because I had to know who the killer was. Not who I expected. Nice twist that I didn't see coming.
I really enjoyed Leann and Zach. They have great chemistry, and I liked that their relationship was a bit of a slower build. The Anderson family meddling was a fun subplot. The mystery was interesting and kept me guessing. Looking forward to the next installment!
Olivia Jaymes writes stories that capture your interest from beginning til end. Her characters are well developed and easy to like. I would recommend them to anyone who likes romance and suspense all in one book.
Wow. Who thought a school reunion could be so lethal. The murder mystery keeps you enthralled and Leann and Zach's romance is fraught at times. There are fun moments as Leann deals with her interfering brothers. Great story.
This book blends murders, mystery and romance to create an interesting story. The characters and plot are well developed and like the chip you can't eat just one--you want another book to read.
Believable characters and storyline. Emotions clearly expressed. Loved the whole family relationships. Recommend this book to anyone who likes a good book
