Will he honor her truth or break her heart?

Athena Brown refuses to let the darkness of her past get her down. Instead, she writes a book that includes fragments of her pain. The last thing she expects is for her work to become a bestseller.

Reporter Derrick Lowe thinks Athena is exploiting her history, victimizing herself to get attention. When he’s assigned to interview her, she’s got no time for his pompous attitudes … until he rescues her from a bad situation.

Their fights can’t mask the heat between them -- but no matter how much they fall for each other, they still don’t see eye to eye.

When one of their clashes turns into Derrick exposing her secrets, he realizes too late that Athena is far more than he’d let himself admit.

Is there any way to make amends and win her back, or has he lost the only woman who truly matters?

Good Story

Really enjoyed story of Athens and Derrick. The characters were an unlikely pair that ended up being more alike than either thought. The life of hurt for both of them was transferred to success for both. There was also so much missing and some how the found it in each other. Loved the way author used past, present experiences of main characters to help them see their future.
This is a very good thought provoking story. I recommend to all.

The truth shall set you free

I was intrigued by this book, but it needed some additional editing. This book was a different take on the billionaire genre. Athena was the one with the money. Derrick and Athena met in a very bad way. They both have issues from their pasts that have affected who they are as adults. They go away together to escape things for a bit. Everything is going well until the fight and betrayal. Can they get past it and have a happy ending?

I could really relate to Ms. Athena and the lifestyle she was seriously trying to nit only run away from, but also hide from. I am a strong believer in your past creating your future and how hard it is to trust and open up to others after certain things. I was glad that Ms. Kayla decided to write a novel that people, men and women alike, can relate to!! And I was glad that Derrick and Athena were able to move forward!!

Where do you go when the truth is sometimes too much for others to believe. . .

Derek was an ass, my opinion. Athena was being true to herself but that brought out the none believer Derek. I could not see these two making a connection. But that was the way it went in the read. I felt like life but held no real appeal for me.

Interesting storyline

The author did a great job connecting the story from the book to the Athena now and her choices. It took a while for Derrick to come to terms with his past and present behavior.

Finding Love

This is a story a novelist and a reporter who starts out on bad terms and end up being together for awhile until the reporter wrote information on the novelist that was personal. They fell out with each other and after about a year things straighten themselves out.
