The Wardrobe Series #2

Breaking Hollywood

Rate this book

Breaking Hollywood is a hot and hilarious standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Samantha Towle...

It wasn't supposed to be like this...

I wasn't supposed to be boyfriendless, homeless and jobless at twenty-eight. And I most definitely wasn't supposed to hit Hollywood's resident bad boy Gabriel Evans with my car and break his foot.

Now I'm stuck in his apartment, taking care of him while he's incapacitated. Living with the hottest guy in Hollywood, who I've had a crush on forever, doesn't sound like a chore, right? Wrong.

Gabriel Evans is rude, crude, drinks way too much and, as soon as his foot is healed, I'm out of here.

So, why do I keep forgetting to check the classifieds? And keep getting flustered when I see him shirtless? Breaking Hollywood wasn't part of the plan. But neither was falling in love with him.

'Breaking Hollywood is romantic comedy at its best. It's laugh-out-loud funny, incredibly sexy, sweetly heartfelt and unadulterated fun... You'll be smitten with everything about this entertaining, steamy and feel-good romance' USA Today's Happy Ever After

Loved Breaking Hollywood? Check out Samantha's sexy, laugh-out-loud romance, Wardrobe Malfunction, out now!

*****FIVE ASTRO-FUCKING-NOMICAL STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

And when she doesn’t pull away, instead letting out a sound of contentment, snuggling deeper into me, it lights up the dark parts inside me. It’s then I realize just how truly fucked I am. Because I like Ava. Quite possibly too much. And she’s far too good for someone as fucked up as me. But, right now, the selfish part of me doesn’t care. The selfish part of me wants to take every good thing she gives me, and I want to give her every good thing back in return.

This is going to be another HUGE hit for Samantha Towle! I’m not surprised that I absolutely fell in love with this story because over the years this author has proven time and again that she is a gifted storyteller. What I can’t believe is that she waited so long to delve into the romantic comedy genre. Her first RomCom,”Wardrobe Malfunction”, was AMAZING and it also introduced us to the main characters in this story. I had the toughest time trying to decide which book I love most but I’d have to say that BREAKING HOLLYWOOD is just a tiny bit more FABULOUS than the previous book. The plot was completely entertaining. The pace of the story was perfect. I was so caught up in the book that I found I was breezing through it faster than I wanted to. I actually tried to slow my reading speed down a bit in order to savor the book! The chemistry between the Hero and Heroine was out of this world white hot!! I loved the slow burn that was building between the main characters and almost burst into flames from the intense gratification I felt once the schmexy times commenced!! I predict that everyone will fall in love with little Gucci as well. And now I am dying to have a little pygmy goat of my own!!

Ava Simms just might be having the worst day of her life. She lost her job as Wardrobe Mistress for a television show. She has one more day left in her apartment and then she will be officially homeless, and she’s completely alone in Los Angeles…well except for the fact that she is the proud furbaby mama of the cutest little pygmy goat she named Gucci. Gucci is actually the reason for being kicked out of her apartment. She violated the no pets policy on her lease agreement. Just when she thinks that her day couldn’t get any worse, Ava ends up running over with her car, the foot of Hollywood’s HOTTEST and biggest actor—Gabe Evans. What she doesn’t know is that this is actually when her life will be changed forever.

 photo BH.Teaser1_zpsxbacgtje.jpg

Gabe is mostly belligerent towards Ava as he is in the most excruciating pain since she has probably broken his foot. While at first he is stubborn and refuses to let Ava drive him to the hospital, he eventually relents when it becomes clear he is in no shape to drive himself. When it turns out that his foot is broken and that it will take nearly six weeks before he fully recovers, the two come to an arrangement which involves Ava coming to his home on a daily basis to take care of him since he’s to concentrate on his recovery and has to stay off the bad foot. Within a day Gabe invites Ava to stay in his spare bedroom when he finds out that she has been evicted from her apartment and planned to live in her little smart car with her pet pygmy goat.

Gabe can’t help but be attracted to Ava. She’s beautiful, endearing, and quite the little spitfire. She doesn’t take any crap from him and lets him know when he’s being an ass. He’s in quite the impossible predicament because Ava is on his mind constantly, so much that no other woman peaks his interest anymore. But Gabe NEVER dates co-workers or employees! He holds firm to that rule. Being in close proximity to the woman who has had the leading role in his recent fantasies puts him through an unbelievable hell.

 photo 21617797_1956155487734254_1394224242165925160_n_zpstsmc8nyx.jpg

Ava has had a huge crush on Gabe for quite some time. She may have had posters of him on her wall when she was younger. She’s also finding it hard living in such close quarters with Hollywood’s sexiest actor.

Sparks are going to ignite and rules will be broken. Will Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor and biggest player be able to settle down with the beautiful and sassy wardrobe mistress? Or will secrets from the past and lack of trust end up tearing the couple apart?

This book was a pure joy to read. Extremely entertaining!

Here are my overall ratings on the book:

Hero: 5
Heroine: 5
Plot: 5
Angst: 4
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5
Gucci’s Cuteness: 5++++

BREAKING HOLLYWOOD releases on October 3rd! You’ll want to one-click and read it asap. I promise you will fall in love with Gabe, Ava, and sweet little Gucci!

A few days ago, this woman wasn’t even on my radar, and now, she’s invading my headspace and my home.

Breaking Hollywood was a quirky, sexy, and humorous romance between a playboy hollywood superstar who falls for the average girl. With a meet cute that was as hilarious as it was embarrassing, it grabbed me from the first page.

Not often you get the attention of Hollywood's most famous actor by running over his foot when you're too distracted with your own tears over losing your job and boyfriend and not paying attention to the road. Talk about your bad day. But all her fantasies of the gorgeous Gabriel Evans fly right out her car window when the man opens his rude, arrogant and crude mouth and the insults just start to fly between them.

But when Gabriel finds himself between a rock and a broken foot, with no other choice, he offers Ava a way out of her current homeless and jobless situation. Live with him and take care of him as he heals. After all, she's the one that caused the injury and fair is fair. The sizzling attraction between them? Unfortunate and totally avoidable. Right?
Goddamn hot chick in my house, driving me fucking crazy. Why did I have to say she could stay here and that I’d pay her for taking care of me? I could be balls deep in her right now if I’d kept my big fucking mouth shut. Goddamn it! I need a drink.

But somewhere around the 40% mark, the story began to lose me. Gabriel's constant back and forth and hot and cold attitude began to grate on me. While Ava stood up to him at some times, ultimately the way things unraveled at the end left me frustrated beyond belief. I started to find the humor forced and the dirty talk awkward.
You feel fucking amazing.” She’s so tight and hot and snug. I look at her. She looks as overwhelmed as I feel.
“So do you. I’ve never…” She squeezes her eyes shut. “You’re so deep, Gabe.”
“It’s because my cock is so big.” She laughs softly, her eyes opening back up.
“And modest.”
“Just honest.” I grin.

I began to disengage further and further from the story. When the ultimate conflict rolled around, I wanted to scream at how everything turned out. After everything, Ava accepting Gabriel with open arms just made her look like a pushover, in my opinion. I wanted him to grovel. I needed Ava to really make him work for it. I get why he has the issues he has, I do, but it didn't help feeling like I did.

So while it started it off strong, it ultimately ended up falling a bit flat for me. You can't love them all, right? But who know, you just might, so give it a shot and judge for yourself.

Breaking Hollywood follows Ava Simms and Gabe Evans on their hilarious and sexy journey. Oh and I can't forget Ava's adorable pet goat, Gucci. These three had me laughing like a crazy person more than once and I couldn't get enough of Ava and Gabe's banter.

This book had so much involved in it and I liked that it all balanced out to create an intriguing story. When I wasn't laughing, I was swooning or tearing up. I thought it was wonderful how Ms. Towle could bring out so many emotions from me in just one book and it was all because of how she created these characters. Ava and Gabe were just ridiculously perfect together and I loved seeing their chemistry. When they were arguing over something silly that sexual tension of theirs was burning up my Kindle and making me want more of them even as I was still reading.

From the first chapter when Ava ran over Gabe with her smart car, to the last chapter that had me swooning like crazy this is one book I will not forget. I already know that I'll be re-reading this book many times in the future. This is a standalone and you can read it that way with no issue but characters from Wardrobe Malfunction do make an appearance, which I loved.

What a nice surprise!! Samantha Towle brought her A game with this one. It was funny, entertaining , with just the right amount of sexiness to it. I haven’t read a Rom com in a long time and I forgot how funny they were. The giddiness feeling you get and those laugh out loud moments is what makes stories like these, your favorites.

If you’ve ever had a bad day and you think to yourself, no one else’s day can be worse than yours, think again. Ava is having the worst day possible. Being dumped by your boyfriend, losing your job, and being evicted from your apartment has to be the WORST thing to happen and, having them happen all at the same time, well let’s just say that I would’ve been throwing the biggest pity party anyone has ever seen.

So what do you do in a situation like this? You cry your eyes out for a while and that’s certainly understandable but when you do it while backing out of a parking lot with your car and run over someone’s foot? Your day just got a whole lot shittier. And it also doesn’t help that the victim, I mean person is a famous actor and your number one crush.

Gabe Evans is God’s gift to women. At least he thinks he is and with a face like that, he might as well be. Being Hollywood’s most unattainable bachelor and successful in his own right, Gabe has it all and he knows it. Seeing that he’s allergic to commitment and have no plans to change, Gabe is more than happy with his life. That is until a crying mess of a woman runs over his foot and breaks it and from that moment on, nothing in his life will ever be the same.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this one. I wasn’t expecting to get these funny characters who I was going to fall in love with and want to throttle at the same time. Gabe was in a class all by himself and let me tell you, as much as I loved his cockiness and his heart of goal, that man tested me sometimes. There were moments when I was swooning so hard and loving everything about him, then the next he does something idiotic. But he quickly redeemed himself and I loved his relationship with Ava even though I wanted more from them at times.

Aside from that, there’s a character that completely stole the entire show for me and Gabe’s interaction with it was laugh out loud hilarious!! It was funny and so touching at the same time and I honestly couldn’t get enough of them together. If you’re looking for a sexy fun romance, this one is most definitely for you.

I have read several books by this author and I really enjoyed them, especially the "The Storm" series.  So when I read the blurb for this new book , I knew I had to read it.

I am so glad I did, because this story was very entertaining. It was funny, sweet and very sexy. Just what I needed at the moment.

Apparently there is a book before this one, that I missed "Wardrobe Malfunction". Both of the MC's are introduced in that story.  If you haven't read it, no worries, because this book can be read as a stand alone. I have no idea how idea how I missed it myself, but I will go back to read it... that's for sure ;)

Ava is having a day from hell. Her boyfriend has recently dumped her, she has just lost her job and got an eviction notice from her appartment, because of her pet (an awesome pygmy goat). To top it all off, she runs over the over the foot of Hollywood's famous badboy Gabe Evans.

WorstDayEver1.gif (351×196)

These two had some awesome banter going on and especially the scene after she run over his foot had me in stitches !!

"I don't think that bone should be sticking up like that"

tenor.gif (352×244)

She is mortified that she run over the foot of her celebrity crush, but that doesn't mean she will just take anything he says to him, without a come back of her own.

When it becomes clear that Gabe's foot is broken in two places and has to be booted for six weeks, Ava offers her help in taking care of him...since that's the least she could do. But how long will both of them be able to hold back on their lust for each other ? Not long let me tell you !! When they gave in... my Ipad almost caught on fire !! Gabe is quite the dirty talker :P

"Come up here, baby. Sit on my face. I want to taste you." I want you to fuck my face, Ava. Go Wild."

16680840.gif (500×281)

Neither of them expected that one incident would change their lives forever.

Like I said, this book was light, funny and sweet. There is some drama/issue towards the end but it doesn't last long. For me this was a real "feel good" kinda book and it definitely got the job done, because I finished it with a smile on my face.

I haven't read a book in so long that's given me the 'butterfly feels' <3

Once I finished I couldn't wipe the smile off my face and just wanted to hug my kindle...or rub it against my knockers because 'HELLO GABE!'

"She must have the lung capacity of a whale. Which could come in handy for some serious deep throating."

Fuck, that bloke!!! A perfect mixture of a broody, cocky, badboy that smokes way too much and gives zero fucks. Basically he is Jake Wethers and Tom Carter all in one!

OVARIES!!

"How small are your feet anyway?” she asks me, laughing.

As big as my dick, which is eye wateringly huge.”

LOVE HIM!!!!

Ava (Speedy) I just ADORED!! By far one of my favourite heroines by Samantha. She was cute as a fucking button!

And let's not forget Gucci! Best. Goat. Ever!

Gabe and Ava were smoking fucking hot together!! The sex scenes!! I'm talking cold shower worthy! And he is such a romantic...

"Sure, she’s annoying as hell. But when her mouth is shut, or if I had my way, full off my cock, she’s incredibly fuckable. A total babe."

One of my favourite books of the year by far! My favourite book by her since The Mighty Storm...only Sam knows how big that statement is!

I never explain what the books are about in my reviews because hey that's what the blurbs are for but I will say its such a fun fucking read that had me laughing my muff off and had my bean tingle like a pringle.

Note that this book isn't out yet so you'll have to be patient but it'll be so worth it!

"Astro-fucking-nomical."

Ava meets Hollywood bad boy, Gabriel Evans aka Gabe, when she accidentally runs over his foot and he is the biggest baby ever! And the biggest jerk...and the biggest whiner! But thankfully, Ava, gives it just as good as she gets it and Gabe really likes that.

Ava feels bad about running over Gabe and takes him to the hospital and offers to take care of him. She just got fired and is losing her apartment so everything works out for the best. She even gets to bring her pygmy goat, Gucci. (who is adorable but I felt like I was cheating on Pixy!)

description

Gabe can't quit thinking about Ava and he definitely wants her but he doesn't sleep with anyone who works for or with him. This is a bonus because Ava and Gabe really get to know each other and it's really sweet.

Unfortunately, Gabe has some secrets and those cause him to have some issues. Every time he pulls Ava closer, the next day he pushes her even further back.

Naturally, just when things are going really good, shit hits the fan. Not surprised with the way Gabe handled things but totally surprised with the way Ava did. And I loved that Charly (and Vaughn) showed up to help out.

Loved the way it worked out, loved the epilogue and loved how it ended. My only question is...when do we get Tate's (Gabe's brother) book? ;)

3 Hollywood-ish Stars

Breaking Hollywood starts out super cute. As said in the summary, Ava runs over Gabe’s foot with her car and breaks it. I was hooked from the first page. I’m a mega fan of Hollywood theme books, but this one does lack the “movie” star aspect of the book. Other than Gabe reading lines and caring about what people think of him, there isn’t much movie star life I saw. I wanted to see him on the sets or at a premiere. Gabe could have been a successful CEO, successful musician, etc and it would have worked for the book just as easily.

Like what the summary says, Ava cares for Gabe while he’s healing from his broken foot. That’s a HUGE chunk of the book. In a way, this can grab you if you aren’t a fan of too many side characters and different settings. I slightly craved for a new setting, only because I felt like Ava and Gabe spent way too much time in the apartment and at some parts it dragged, but it also makes the book simple, which I happen to like.

The book is simple, yet there’s a lot that goes on if that makes sense. Gabe isn’t a simple guy and his personality isn’t likable. He’s nice until he’s crossed and when he’s crossed I feel like he lashes out too hard. And sometimes for no reason. I get the tough male Hero act, but at times it felt a little childish. I kind of wished Ava made him work for it a bit.

There’s some tension between Ava and Gabe since Gabe doesn’t want to hook up with people that work for him and I love how Ava is poor and jobless. I wish I could say their relationship meshed well and it felt organic, but it felt just a touch forced. I still enjoyed the relationship, I just didn’t get the total feels.

I understand what the author was trying to do with this story. I felt like there were parts of the book that read too typical and I saw-it-coming-kind of read. I think if Gabe was a successful business man, instead of a Hollywood actor, I could have jived better with this book more. I also wished he didn’t put Ava in her place as much. I had different expectations. I know a few people will like his strong hot and cold personality. To me, it was a bit much and a little bit of angst that I didn’t want.

Overall, it wasn’t my favorite Samantha Towle book, but it won’t be my last.

We're in Hollywood with Gabe and Ava.
We already met both in WARDROBE MALFUNCTION - but you don't have to have read that to understand this story. (You obviously should though. ☺)

Ava was just let go from her job.
As of tomorrow she'll be boyfriendless. Jobless. And homeless. She'll only have her little pet goat Gucci.

description

Enter Gabriel Evans. Hollywood superstar. Hottest guy on the planet.

description

She's always had a huge crush on the guy. But that stops when he opens his mouth and yells and curses at her ... nonstop.
Why would he curse at an innocent girl in the streets of Hollywood you ask?
Because she kinda drove over his foot with her car!
And now he has to wear a cast/boot thingy for six to eight weeks.
Good thing Ava doesn't have anything else to do with her life at the moment - she's moving in with Gabe to take care of him.
Fighting. Cursing. Yelling. Arguing.
Flirting. Fantasizing.

What will happen with Ava & Gabe (and Gucci)?
Will there be a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

SOOO ADORABLE & HILARIOUS

I've always been a fan of Hollywood Romances.
They're the next best thing to Rockstar Romances! (and I looooove those!☺)

This book was sooo amazing!

I started reading and I was instantly charmed by Ava and Gabe. They start out yelling and fighting and cursing and bickering. It's all this amazingly adorable foreplay. Only they don't know it yet.
Secretly they're both hugely attracted to the other - but Ava thinks he would never be interested in her. And Gabe thinks he would only want her for one night. He doesn't do serious. And he doesn't sleep around with people he works with - or with people working for him - like Ava now does.
But of course they can't keep their hands off each other for long. ☺

Of course not everything is hilarious and fun - there are some serious moments too. Gabe has some stuff in his past that we need to uncover and deal with.

I just loved reading this book. I finished it in one day!
I don't want to spoil any of the amazingly funny & adorable moments.
YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!!!
(Preferably not in public!!!☺☺☺)
And you might also want to go check out where your closest goat-dealers are!
I WANT ONE!!!!! NEEEEED ONE! MOM! HUBBY!! GET ME A PYGMY GOAT FOR CHRISTMAS!

BREAKING HOLLYWOOD was such an adorable & hilarious Hollywood romance.
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Gabe - this one is MINE!!! Gucci is mine too!!!!!☺

If I had to name some things I didn't like ... we have this typical misunderstanding/lie/drama thing that happens in so many books towards the middle or the end. It could've been prevented by just talking to each other or rather listening to the other, instead of getting mad and angry and breaking up or whatever they always do at that point. I wish I would one day find a book where there is such a thing and bam, the hero talks to the heroine and TOGETHER they try to find out what happend or who is working against them. It wasn't all that bad here - not at all - but I just don't like those unnecessary drama moments in books. Just thought I should mention it. But don't worry - they clear it up pretty fast!
Also - the book is set in America with American characters. The author is British and it shows on every page. Especially with those way over 20 AS's that I counted - if you know my reviews, you know I hate that. The AS that could and should be exchanged for a since or a because. It's such a British or legal thing. I HATE IT!!! No idea why it bothers me so much - it just does. But it doesn't stop the book from being an amazing Hollywood Romance!!! I'm just weird that way - no one else on the planet will be bothered by it! ☺

Also - goat Gucci totally makes up for it!!! I LOVED HER!!! ♥

Ava Simms is a 28 yr. old beautiful, newly single woman from New York. She now lives in Los Angeles, & works in wardrobe on a movie set. Her boyfriend recently broke up with her, she finds out her job is letting her go, & she’s about to lose her apartment. She feels like her life is falling apart, & she feels lost. She gets in her car to leave the movie set. She’s so upset & distracted crying, she accidentally hits someone with her car. She freaks out even more when she realizes she hit bad boy Hollywood actor Gabriel Evans. She met him about six months ago at a club with mutual friends Charly & Vaughn. She’s horrified to have broken his foot.

 photo FullSizeRender_zpsivvhkix2.jpg

Gabriel Evans lives in West Hollywood, & is a gorgeous movie star known for his love of women & partying. When a fiesty, stunning brunette runs over his foot, he’s in a bind. He’s hurt & needs someone to help care for him. Jobless & homeless, Ava offers to be his live in caregiver. She temporarily moves into his apartment & is now up close and personal with her longtime celebrity crush. She soon finds out he’s rude and kind of a jerk. They clash at every turn, but that doesn’t diminish their explosive chemistry & undeniable attraction.

 photo IMG_1055_zpsqnrsm3cr.jpg

-I'm so desperate for this woman.

-"I've wanted you for a long time."

-"I want you. As much as you want me."

-He's stunning to look at.

 photo IMG_1056_zpsxucpslmj.jpg

The longer Gabe & Ava spend time together, the more they want each other. The problem is Ava is trying to keep things professional, & Gabe never gets involved with someone that works for him. Soon they can’t resist one another, & things heat up. Feelings develop & they fall for each other. Secrets are revealed & things get complicated. Can they have a real relationship in Hollywood & make things work?

This was such a fun, flirty, sexy read! The perfect romantic comedy, with just the right amount of emotion. I laughed so much reading this book, & really enjoyed it!

Breaking Hollywood is a light-hearted romcom that takes the reader to a fictional world of love, passion and fun. The first person narrative toggles between the perspective of Hollywood heartthrob and total bad boy, Gabriel Evans and Ava, the ordinary but quirky girl who is the cause of a rather unfortunate incident for our hero. An incident that conveniently throws them together and is the starting point for this fun and fluffy story. Breaking Hollywood certainly has all the ingredients for a sexy romance. Great characters, lots of hot scenes, amusing aspects to the plot and a girl who has a crush on a superstar and then like a teenage fantasy she ends up with her life entwined with that said superstar.

I enjoyed the light-hearted nature of the story but I wish some aspects of it had been further explored in order for me to feel more emotion and a deeper connection to the main characters and their relationship. I felt I never really scratched beneath their surface, even though there was also quite a serious issue that could have aided this exploration.

Anyone looking for entertaining, sexy escapism should meet Gabe. Samantha Towle always delivers her male characters with a good dose of sex appeal and Breaking Hollywood is no exception.

Damsel in distress, who got hot, when a guy was a d*ck to her...
She had a celebrity crush on him. They met 6 months before, he wanted to f*ck her, but she had a bf. And... he didn't think about her at all till the day they met again. Sounds like an epic love from the 1st sight...

His thoughts and words about women were insulting to me.
Disturbing!

I think I'm done with this author.
It's a shame, I liked her older books...

4 Astro-F***ing-Nomical Stars****

 photo A27E65D8-454B-47AC-B252-8FD1BC0F76FE_zpsly7hwtbi.jpg

This was such a light enjoyable read for me, I love Sam Towle she does a good mix of emotions (some more on the angst, and some not) this one is on the lighter fun enjoyable read for me, but still so good.

So what's it about?
This is Gabes story whom is buddies with Vaughn whom is in Wardrobe Malfunction. So Gabe is a star, a star that Ava loves. But Ava ends up where she's having a hell of a day and runs over Gabes foot breaking it and so Ava offers her services cause frankly what else has she got to do??

This is one hell of a cute read, lots of banter and sexy moments. I love Gabe, he's all kinds of antsy (cause he's got a broken foot) but also he's a bit of an Asshole but in the best kind of way. He really has a big heart, he just hasn't had anyone to share his troubles with until now. And frankly Ava is the perfect person for him cause she gives it back as much as he gives it. They made me laugh so much.

So if your wanting a light hearted fun and sexy read then this will surely tick those buttons for you. It was also very real with some life scenarios that I liked to read too, but mostly I loved the hell out of the banter and chemistry between both characters.

That is all..

Enjoy Xoxo

This was just brilliant i loved it. The banter between Ava and Gabe was just great. After the way they met it was so funny. I actually couldn't believe that it happen Ava was already having the day from hell. Then she has to deal with moody cocky and sexy Gabriel Evans. He is so arrogant he drives in insane throughout this book. But you can't help but love him. Both character have to deal with a fair bit of drama in this book. Together they get through it even with Gabe's trying to fight his feelings and him shouting at Ava so the time. There was sexual chemistry between these two from the very start. Even with Gabe's rules it's hard to resist a sexy woman like Ava.

This book was great from start to finish. I couldn't put out down once I started it. Eva's character is great she is just such a fun loving woman she is caring sweet and we'll do anything for anymore and she is also really understanding. There are many time where Gabe crosses the line with her and she always see the best in him even when he as been the worst. I thought it mite annoy me her being so understanding but it didnt I wish I was like her.

Gabriel is your typical movie star he loves his woman and can pick who he want when even he wants. He just can't have once he says his eyes on Ava. No matter how hard to didn't want to be couldn't help it he had to have her. Gabe as had to deal with a lot growing up. When you see how hard he has worked to get where he and his brother Tate are now it's a great achievement. He might not be happy about how things went but everything is perfect now.

The one thing that I loved about this book was Gucci The pygmy goat. She is just the best and loves Ava so much I actually thing she is very protective of her. The way she would head butt Gave was so funny. I had a lot of laughing moment in this book over Gucci.

I have to say I really enjoyed this book. I m a big fan of this author she always knows how to do a great story and have characters that are so easy to love. I would highly recommend this book. There isn't a thing that I didnt like about it. I could get enough of it.

Review: Surj

It's been a while since I've picked up a Samantha Towle book but my experience of her writing has always been great story lines with bucket loads of angst and heart ache. "Breaking Hollwood" was different to this authors other work so I guess my concern was, with this change in direction, would I still enjoy the story? Romantic comedy is so difficult to get right and more so because humour is such an individual thing. Where most people laugh at things, I'm the person that will struggle to see what was funny. Whether it be in films or live stand up, im the one with a straight face while everyone else is rolling around with laughter. So this was a bit of a test I guess. Well, despite the change, this was a real hit for me and yes, I did read much of Gabe and Ava's story grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
"Stop arguing with me, and let's do this."
"But I like arguing with you. It's almost like foreplay."

"Breaking Hollywood" was light hearted and wickedly funny with a slight undertone of seriousness that delivered just the right amount of angst too. I loved the premise of the story and the delivery was spot on. The way Gabe and Ava met had me in stitches and the way their relationship developed was perfection. It was slow burner but filled with sizzling sexual tension that kept me hooked.
"How small are your feet anyway?” she asks me, laughing.
As big as my dick, which is eye wateringly huge.”

It was easy to fall in love with Gabe's character. He was a broody Hollywood actor that obviously had some history and it seemed not of the good sort either. There seemed something quite sad and tragic about his past and I couldn't wait to find out what that was. Overall though, Gabe made me smile... A lot. Especially with his dry sense of humour. So when I heard people say, he was an asshole, I just couldn't see it. Cranky? Yes. Frustrated? Absolutely but that was to be expected considering his situation. He wasn't a bad person though and the two words "Gabe and asshole" just didn't seem to fit into the same sentence together... Until ithey did and then I saw the full force of his assholery!!!! Yup, prepare yourselves ladies, when this man is crossed or feels like he's being pushed into a corner, he bites and bites hard!!!

Ava was a great leading lady and in many respects was a great match for Gabe. She was strong and feisty and very quick with her witty comebacks. I loved that when Gabe was a dick, she was very good at telling him to go fuck himself. Unfortunately, my only let down with her character was how quick she was to forgive. I wanted her to put up more of a fight because trust me, when Gabe was a dick, he was a serious dick and he deserved more punishment than he got. I guess he got lucky with Ava.
I don't know if I should admire her loyalty or have her committed for making herself homeless for a goat.

The banter between Gabe and Ava was brilliant. They were so funny with their dry sense of humour and one liners. And Gucci the goat!!! I want myself a Pygmy goat... Go google them. They are just the cutest and and Gucci really did add something special to the dynamics of the relationship between Gabe and Ava.

I met some awesome secondary characters in "Breaking Hollywood" and I would love to see them get their stories told. Now Tate, the paediatrician surely deserves his own book... No???

A great change in direction for this authors work and I will definitely be picking up the next book. "Breaking Hollywood" gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️ from me.

“I licked them, so they’re mine.”

5 Astro-fucking-nomical stars!!!

OMG, this is such an awesome read! Laugh-out-loud funny, characters that you can’t help but love from the moment you meet them, sizzling chemistry, epic banter and teasing, steamy hot sexy time and a beautiful, heartfelt romance with low angst. Oh, and a pygmy goat. It has everything you could possibly want, and I freaking loved it!

Ava Simm’s day goes from bad to worse - she is facing imminent homelessness, is fired from her job, and then in her haste to leave the studio where she works, she runs over somebody’s foot. But not just anybody, Hollywood’s bad boy, and her celebrity crush, Gabriel Evans. With a clearly broken foot, Ava insists on driving Gabe to the hospital, and amidst hilarious arguments, quips and put-downs, she agrees to move in with him to help him out while he is incapacitated. And that early dynamic is just a sign of the epicness to come.

“Your foot’s broken?” Tate chuckles.
“It wasn’t a tiny car. It was a tank.”
“He’s lying. It was my super-small and ultra-lightweight car that broke his weak foot,” Speedy tells Tate. “How small are your feet anyway?” she asks me, laughing.
“As big as my dick, which is eye-wateringly huge.”
“He wears a size ten,” Tate tells her.
“Ten and a half!” I yell.

This book is SO freaking funny. From the moment Ava and Gabe meet they are at each other, and it doesn’t stop for the whole book. Hilariously juvenile but quick, witty and increasingly dirty, I laughed out loud so many times while reading.

“Hey, pervert! My eyes are up here.”
Busted.
But I take my sweet time in raising my eyes. And, when I meet hers, I give her a cocky smile.
“I know exactly where your eyes are, Speedy. You just have great tits. It’s hard not to look at them, especially when you insist on drawing my attention to them.” I point at her cleavage.
She looks down and drops her arms. “God, you’re crass and disgusting and rude and-and…”
“You at a loss for words, Speedy? That’s a first. Hang on, let me get my camera out to capture the moment.”

Though there is an obvious animosity between them, there’s also a sizzling attraction, and the chemistry is sensational! And with the story written in dual POV we get to see exactly how they are feeling about the other, and again I couldn’t help but laugh at Gabe’s frankness.

Yes, I want to fuck her.
Sure, she’s annoying as hell. But, when her mouth is shut – or, if I had my way, full of my cock – she’s incredibly fuckable.
A total babe.

I love these characters so much! Gabe is a bit of a broody loner, but having Ava walk into his life brings a shift that he didn’t know he needed, and I loved seeing him open up to her, laughing and joking around. He’s still unapologetically crude, but it’s part of their dynamic, and it totally works for them, and Ava is strong enough to not only give it straight back to him, but to stand up for herself and calling Gabe out when he’s being an ass, and I loved that about her. She’s a wonderful heroine who absolutely shines – even with such a fantastic hero who could have so easily overwhelmed her. She has her quirks but she totally owns who she is, she’s confident, smart and funny, and I just love her.

And together, the two of them are magic. They are refreshingly honest, neither of them hold back in sharing their thoughts, and it’s both hilarious and heartwarming. Their dialogue is just gold, and their shift into friends and then more is easy, natural and paced perfectly. And when the sexual tension finally becomes too much – holy hell! Gabe is a dirty talker, with the moves to back it up, and the sexy time is seriously hot. But more than there, there is a true emotional connection between them and I just loved watching them explore that as they fell for each other.

“I want you.”
“You already have me.”

It’s not all sunshine and roses though. Gabe has demons from his past and a tendency to blow up unexpectedly, there are things they need to deal with, and there is drama that occurs outside of the relationship that impacts on them. But they deal with everything sensibly, and the drama creates intensity in the story that gives the characters a chance to shine in the way they handle each situation rather than letting it get out of control. And I love that! It’s raw and emotional, but it brings something extra to the book and it’s all really well done.

“Whatever happens, I’ll be with you, every step of the way. I’ve got your back.”
He leans his forehead against mine and breathes deeply. “I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I’m so fucking glad you’re mine.”

And let’s not forget little Gucci! Ava’s pet pygmy goat is too cute for words with a huge personality all her own, and I thought she was a wonderfully fun addition to the story.

I can’t gush enough about this book. I loved every single moment, so if you’re looking for a funny, sexy, emotional and romantic read, look no further!

5 huge stars!

4.5 SUPER STARS****

A sexy Hollywood bad boy, plus a strong and yet corky heroine, plus a super cute baby goat pet, equals:
BEST BOOK EVER!!!!

IMG_5861

Ava Simms is having a really bad day. She just got fired from her job, got evicted from her apartment and to top it all off, she just ran over Hollywood's sexiest bad boy's foot with her car.

Gabriel Evans has good looks, money and fame but one thing he doesn't have is good manners. He knows he's only good at two things in life, acting and sex and he certainly likes to show it off, either on the big screen or in bed. He loves to satisfy his female audience.

Ava and Gabriel start off on a bad foot, pun intended. After she ran over his foot with her car and broke it. Now Gabriel needs help to get around while his foot heals and Ava needs a place to live, so they strike a deal that benefits them both. The problem is that they are really attractive to one another and yet they can't stop bickering for even one minute, which makes for a hilarious adventure that we lucky readers get to enjoy.

To the angst, the hilarious humor and the passion, add an adorable pet goat called Gucci that simply makes this story absolutely FABULOUS.

To me Samantha Towle is the queen of romance, I love that she's always creative and likes to give us readers a unique story every single time. You can't ever go wrong with one of her books. She totally left a big smile on my face and in my heart with Breaking Hollywood

BREAKING HOLLYWOOD releases on October 3rd! But it is available for pre-order now, so DONT MISS IT!!!!

I really enjoyed it, even though I had a hard time reading it (personal hard time).

It had funny parts in it and lovely parts too. I really liked Speedy/Ava she was so funny! Even though I didn't like it as much as I would've liked. It had some of the things I love to read about, that she lives with him (while nothing is happening), a rare pet, a nickname with a special meaning.

The parts where I had trouble with is the one where she just forgives him like nothing happened (it wasn't anything bad), but it was so fast forgiven that it made my head spin and my eyes roll..

Personal Thoughts:

So...
I'm sorry about the ranting that follows because I've enjoyed this author's work before, unfortunately I couldn't get passed the 45% mark.
I was loosing brain cells page after page!

First of all:
The general feeling of the story reminded me a lot "Shacking Up" by Helena Hunting.
On top of the plot's "ridiculousness", add the lack of sense and originality.
If you didn't enjoy that book, you'll probably have bigger issues with this one.

The plot could've been fun in it's own way but, in my opinion, it wasn't.
When the MCs first meet, Gabriel has a great time exchanging "funny" insults and flirting with Ava, SECONDS after she accidentally runs over his foot with her car.

His foot ends up broken (1° and 2° metatarsals so... SERIOUSLY broken!).

A bit of banter would've been great but they keep going at it for so long I actually thought he wasn't injured at all.
Have you ever experienced a broken foot?
The pain is excruciating!

Dear Gabriel ,
Number 1: I can’t believe you’re able to give your dick priority while suffering serious pain.
Either you're faking it or you are a victim of "plot ridiculousness".
Obviously the second and yes, that's a thing.
Breaking Hollywood by Samantha Towle - looks over sunglasses

Number 2: You’re supposedly Hollywood royalty...
just because you're having fun flirting, you forget she could go all psyco on you?
How does it make sense that you choose to invite this stranger into your home instead of an actual professional?
Why would you risk your security, privacy and health in this kind of situation?
Because you want her "under you"? Right. Ok.

Number 3: Then why do you decide to hire her if you "don’t fuck people you do business with"?
How am I supposed to read patiently about you still bitching, at 50% of the book, about that rule of yours and the situation you created?
Seriously?
Breaking Hollywood by Samantha Towle - Are you stupid?

Dear Ava ,
Number 1: Do you actually have a brain?
You have a whole month to look for a solution about your apartment situation and you choose to become a homeless in Hollywood because you can't find a place that allows you to keep your pet goat?
Really? You can't come up with nothing better?

Number 2: Of course your favorite movie star falls straight into your lap (more like under your car).
I'm sure you didn't put much effort into finding a solution to your problem because that's exactly what happens to girls like you....they’re always rescued by prince fucking charming.
Breaking Hollywood by Samantha Towle - Eye brow up

Number 3: And if that prince turns out to be a manwhore that says he's proud to be an asshole... you fall in love with him as soon as possible!

Come on...What is this thing???
I call bullshit. Bullshits all over.

In Breaking Hollywood by Samantha Towle the characters do not make sense, the plot does not make sense...
⭐ DNF ⭐

~ My Ratings ~
Writing: 3 /5
Plot: 1 /5
Hero: 1.5 /5
Heroine: 1.5 /5
Secondary Characters: 3 /5
MC's chemistry: 4 /5 Explicit sexual scenes included.
Triggers: Except for ridiculousness...No major triggers.
Recommended to: Wouldn't recommend it.

Another book where the hero gets physically hurt and the heroine is moving in, to his penthouse, to take care of him. The whole story was based in his apartment, a little to none to do with the outside world and in some point it's was getting old and boring.
There were no stand out second characters who would have helped the story to grow if they were, aside from the little cute goat who couldn't talk so it was pretty much the MC annoying, third grade and immature banter.

I need more excitment in my reads.

4 stars.
I really adored this book. About the first 75% of the book reads like a rom-com and then the last 25% changed it up a little squeezing in some serious angst. It finished with a very sweet epilogue.
I can't lie, I really loved the first half of this book the most. Mainly because I loved how Gabe and Ava met and also all the insults and witty banter between them as they initially got to know each other. It was just so very entertaining. I especially loved that Ava had a pygmy goat called Gucci as a pet. He was so cute and such a great addition to this story that now I think I want one also (probably not going to happen in reality).
Gabe was so very cocky, broody and arrogant, but in a way that you couldn't help being drawn to him and Ava was so sweet and kind with a touch of quirkiness that I just really loved her character.
This was a great follow up to Wardrobe Malfunction which I also adored.
Samantha Towle is just such a talented writer and I really do like this more romantic comedy style by her as well as her more contemporary romances like The Mighty Storm (one of my favorite books ever).

Lets star with things i do not click with this book:
1. Ava. She is portrays as independent and kick ass heroine. But at the end, she is sort of doormat when gabe came back to her. Hey ava, kick his ass!

2. Chemistry in the book is not flamable. But luke warm.

3. The story is not relatable. Gabe is a movie star. He got hit by ava. Where is his team of lawyer, publicist, agent. And there is no way a movie star just pick up a stranger to take care of him without signing NDA and doing background check.

But somehow miss towle makes this book likeable. Maybe it is very and cute banter between ava and gabe.

I enjoy the book. 4 gucci stars

What a great silly story!

From the moment Gabrielle and Ava meet (really?!) its funny and sparks fly!

At times how he treated Ava made me so mad! How stupid could be be! Really stupid at times!

But all's well that ends well.

Okay, don’t let the blurb for this book fool you into thinking that this is a story about a guy and girl - even though they are the lead characters. This is a biography about Gucci the pygmy goat. Alright, that is not entirely true but Gucci really does steal the story at times.

Ava has just been fired from her job in wardrobe at a studio, she has no idea how she is going to pay her rent or even afford to live anymore and after letting a waterfall of tears out she sets off to drive home to her now short term apartment.

She may be slightly visually impaired from the crying when she hits the speed bump in the parking garage that she has no recollection of ever driving over before. That is because she has just run over her celebrity crush – Gabriel Evans. Not completely over him, just his foot. This sets up a chain of events that has her being employed as his live in aid at his Hollywood home, along with her pet goat Gucci.

“You made yourself homeless for a goat.” She frowns. “She’s not just a goat, Gabriel. I told you, she’s my family.” I don’t know if I should admire her loyalty or have her committed for making herself homeless for a goat."

Gabriel and Ava have the best banter, most of the time he is pissed off and grumpy with her but she does not take shit from anyone and gives it back just as quickly. They fall into this comfortable friendship and share a lot of laughs. While this is going on they are slowly falling for each other. Ava has fantasised about him for many years and now she is spending every day in his company. Even Gucci is beginning to like Gabriel.

“Baaahhh! Baaahhh!” I blink open my heavy eyes to see that fucking goat inches from my face, staring at me." “Jesus fucking Christ. Go away, goat. I’m trying to sleep.” I shut my eyes, ignoring it. “Baaahhh! Baaahhh! Baaahhh!” “For fuck’s sake! You shouldn’t even be in here. Will you shut – ow!” My hand goes to my nose, my eyes flying open. She fucking head-butted me!

Gabriel may have a reputation as a bit of a man whore but he has one rule, you never sleep with employees so this puts Ava way out of bounds for him. Unfortunately, his penis does not agree with this ‘rule’ and spends hours at attention whenever Ava is within it’s vicinity. The slow building, simmering attraction between them is ridiculous and eventually it is all on like donkey kong.

Gabriel feels pretty conflicted about what is going on with Ava, she is making him feel and want things he never has before. So much so that each day he opens up to her more and more, telling her things he has never shared with anyone. What is this girl doing to him? Has he found someone to spend his future with? Is he having fatherly attachments to a Pygmy goat?

There are SO many laugh out loud moments in this book, I had a fantastic time reading this fabulous story!
