He was going to taste me. Lick me. Bite me. Devour me.
[…]he looked into my eyes, and I saw the forever. Past the heat and lust, I saw forever. Saw our lives in this little house. Saw three kids. Two dogs. Saw laughter, fights, and love-making. Saw our hands clasped as our skin aged.
I saw his declaration of love in his green eyes as clearly as my heart shouted it from my chest.

The rest of the world was fine, but Lavender Shores was in my blood, as much a part of me as anything else. In my twenties, I’d still sit at the top of the palisade staring out at the sea, and dream of a man coming to town and loving me.Joel Rhodes arrives in Lavender Shores with a mission - yet another test from his impossible-to-please father. He's willing to do whatever it takes, until he gets to know Andrew and realizes that maybe there is something more important:
Maybe it was time to tell Andrew that I hadn’t intended to meet someone like him. That I’d never met anyone like him. Who made me feel like he did. How the hell was I supposed to know someone like him even existed? There is an immediate sexual sizzle, a whole blazing bonfire of lust and attraction, between the two men, but what takes them by surprise is the love that rapidly develops. Usually I'm not the biggest fan of insta-love, but it really works here. I also like how this book sets up the series, introducing us to the community and some of its residents without sacrificing Joel and Andrew's story.
Make sure, when your dreams finally start to come true, you notice. Don’t let it pass without noticing. Most people do.
