Jeff Shelby grew up around the beaches of Southern California and graduated from the University of California at Irvine. He is the author of the bestselling Noah Braddock series (Killer Swell, Wicked Break, Liquid Smoke), the stand alone thriller Thread of Hope, and the Deuce Winters series (Stay At Home Dead), written under the name Jeffrey Allen. Noah Braddock can't catch a break. He is finally starting to get his life back on track but that takes money which means working. So when Sarah Dowdell walks back into his life with a case, he agrees to look into it partly because of the money thing and partly because it's Sarah.
Sarah's dad Henry has installed cameras with motion sensors around his 300 acre avocado ranch and one of the cameras has picked up the picture of a girl. In the middle of the avocado ranch. In the middle of the night. And she sure as heck doesn't belong there. Henry wants to know who she is and if she is alright.
Sounds simple, right? Well with Noah nothing is that simple. This case slowly turns into one involving kidnapping, human trafficking, illegal immigrants, and betrayal.
Jeff Shelby does an excellent job of keeping the reader on the edge of their seat and you never really know what's going to happen next. I look forward to reading his next book!

A fairly short, but solid book in the series. Things are looking up for Noah, Carter got to smack some dudes around, I'm looking forward to the next adventure.

I love this series. I feel like Noah is a old friend...a surfer dude who is also a PI. Well written and fun. At times heartbreaking.
