Jackie and Carrie want nothing more than to settle into a normal peaceful life. They would never have guessed that an unimaginable blunder would drastically change their lives and that they are finding themselves in a downward spiral. This terrible situation puts an enormous strain on their family life and they are on the edge of despair. The only thing keeping them sane is their love for each other and the family bonds. This is a captivating ride through tragedy, drama, fear, happiness and an unconditional love. The author let you see and feel all the emotions and how everything changed through out the story. It is amazingly well written and the engrossing storyline is excellent. It all merge effortlessly together. I hope with all my heart that there willl be a sequel. Jackie and Carrie are dear to me and I don't want to say goodbye to them or their family.
At first I didn't like that we had Tony's pov but then the rest of the book made me forget it, i think i liked this one better than the first as it was less rushed and we got to know the others characters a little better.
I liked the first book HeroHero, and I mostly enjoyed the second part.
The first book seemed very realistic, so I was surprised when (based on my impression of the first book) I first had the feeling that the villain's skillset were created just for the sake of the story. Also some of the safety measurements felt unrealistic compared to the realism of the first book ... Altough there are plenty of books where the characters took the same actions and where I accepted those: the difference is caused by the comparsion to a previously different setup. Hence the -1 star.
I loved this two book series. I have read it a few times. The chemistry continues to explode. I love the depth of love they have for each other and their family. I look forward to more books by Ronni Meyrick.
