4.5 stars because of the ending. If you don't like not getting a HEA, or a true ending to the story then wait for book 6!
This is a great series. The first book is a bit different the the rest of the series but gives you the perfect foundation for this series to grow. And it definitely grows on you. I binged read book 2-5 in just 3 days! They are very good. Perfect summer fun reads!
This story line has a fabulous plot. Truly a family being pieced together not just by necessity but by true friendship and love. In this book we have one of the hot guys finding himself in need of help that he has never had to ask for before. When shrilled wakes up in a hospital bed after his last race there is only one person in the group that isn't still in the honeymoon phase that takes him in. Alex, is engaged but her fiancé is absent and doesn't seem to have a problem with the model hottie from the racing world moving in. Is this a recipe for another disaster for Shriller, you'll just have to read to find out. But remember the cliff I mentioned earlier!
The characters are fabulous, truly feel like I would love being part of this group. Of course all the eye candy certainly doesn't hurt. By the end of this book the characters are so well developed that the ending leaves you feeling emotionally invested and just a bit sad for both Shriller and Alex. I'm pretty sure my heart broke for Shriller. The chemistry and sex in this book is off the charts!
The writing is well done, and you can feel the flow evolving through the series. It truly keeps getting better and better. And author to keep an eye on for sure!

5 Shriller and Alex Stars
Oh my goodness.....my poor kindle heart is a shuddering mess! I was delighted to be given an ARC of this story - thank you Nicole - and as I have loved this series from the very start I was super keen to get back into the world of the Monroe family and friends. I had no idea that this book ended on one hell of a cliffhanger but despite that I still relished every page of this novel which tells Shriller and Alex's story. I am itching to get my grabby little hands on the next instalment!
Those of you familiar with the series will know Adam Shriller from previous books. He used to date Brooke when they were teenagers and he has become really good friends with the entire Monroe clan. Alex is Brooke's best friend and has been present in every book. I secretly thought that she would end up with one of the other guys but that theory was chucked out of the window a couple of books ago. I have always liked Alex - she is brutally honest at times but she is extremely loyal and her inherent sense of fairness and love for those she is close to make her incredibly endearing despite her incidental brusqueness. On one hand she is fiercely independent , feisty and self sufficient yet on the other she is longing to be with someone and to be loved utterly and completely and build her own family. It's an interesting dichotomy of her character and it works really well.
Shriller The Thriller certainly thrilled me in this book - he is your typical badass motorbike racer with that edgy vibe mixed in with loyalty, fun and a sweetness that was surprising. I was also surprised at his vulnerability which I thought added a fascinating layer to his character.
The heat between Adam and Alex is off the charts. It's a sign of exquisite storytelling when a book contains elements that you are not always keen on but somehow you cannot put it down despite that. For me the two things that normally would put me on edge are the cliffhanger ending and the fact that both Shriller and Alex have had sex with other characters in their group of friends previously. There is NO CHEATING in this book . Neither of them hold any romantic notions for anyone else in their group which helped me get my head and heart around their previous liaisons. Alex and Adam are so good together so the ending absolutely shredded me. Nicole says the second book is coming soon......I'm dying here!!! Please release it soon .....pretty please with sugar on top and everything.
You could read this one as a standalone but I would recommend reading the others as they are 1) Fabulous and 2) It helps you pick up all those fascinating dynamics and character nuances in a series.
Told in dual pov with lots of swearing and hot stuff so recommend over 18's only. And OMG the hot stuff is HOT.
HEA? CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!!!!!! I'm hoping there will be an HEA with these two together but I am currently nursing my poor bruised kindle heart whilst sniffling into a tissue.

Shriller was on top of the world when a serious crash left him in bad shape and a friend dead. As his makeshift family files in he realizes they love him but when his live in girlfriend doesn't he has no idea how he is gonna function. Alex one of his friends who is engaged to Steven tells him she is going to take him home . Shriller tries to argue because he doesn't want to depend on anyone but he realizes he has no choice. Alex is trying to be happy with Stephen but little by little he is trying to change her to fit a Stepford wife's role. When she and Stephen break up she gets a little tipsy and admits she hasn't had sex in months so they agree to have sex just for fun but you know lines get tangled. As more and more people realize that's what they are trying do they also tell them it can't be done but Alex and Shriller are out to prove them wrong.
I just loved this story and had a hard time putting it down.

Each time Nicole Dykes writes a new member of this family i fall more in love with them. And my favourite character changes! This was most definitely the most anticipated one for me. And I promise it did not disappoint.
I'm so looking forward to more of this family!

OMFG This is without a doubt my fav book in this series so far !!!! Every book gets better and better.
We've met Adam and Alex in the previous books in this series and I wasn't sure how they would work together to be honest but they are just absolutely AH MAY ZING !! I loved them and think they may be my favorite couple so far.
Alex I have loved her from the beginning. Never one to hold back, say what is on her mind. She tells it like it is. I couldn't wait to get her story and truly hoped that she got her happily ever.
Adam hasn't been as prevalent, popping in and out on occasion throughout the series but he was witty, always with the quick one liners and a hot motorbike racer COME ON !!! Of course I knew I would love him.
This is a friends to lovers romance and WOAH when the lines get blurred it's hot, its exciting and you just know that this is somehow going to come crashing down. There isn't instant gratification with this book but it will get your blood pumping. You will be reading away because these two will have you so invested in them just dying to see what happens.

One minute Shriller is on the track racing and the next thing he wakes up in the hospital. Finding out about the death related to the accident it doesn't do much for his spirits. With all the injuries he sustained Shriller is going to need someone to help take care of him. All his friends offer but he turns them down. But, when Alex offers to help, Shriller reluctantly agrees or maybe it's just that Alex has a way with words. Shriller stays at Alex's house even though she's engaged. Alex assures him that her fiancé is ok with it. Alex and her fiancé have a talk and decide that they both want different things and should go their separate ways. One thing leads to another with Alex and Shriller. They agree to be there for each other with "no strings attached". But oh.... the ending left me speechless!
I loved this book just as much as the first in this series! I had a hard time putting this book down! Even though this is a "Standalone" the rest of the books are definitely worth reading. Nicole does not disappoint.

I love this unconventional family. They show that family is not always blood. This story is about Shriller "The Thriller" and Alex. If you have followed the series you don't need an intro. Shriller and Alex have known each other since high school and they are part of the Monroe extended family. When
Shriller needs help after being injured, they all jump in to help. He ends up living with Alex while her recuperates. They decide that they can be friends with benefits without screwing up their friendship. Will this work or will they damage their friendship. Well we have to WAIT until the next book. We do not get a HEA. What we get is a little drama for out ending.
As usual, I love the characters.

Oh. My. Shriller and Alex.
This is by far my favorite book in this series. I mean, don't get wrong, I love each one to pieces. But this one has two of the most blunt and raunchiest characters in this serious and they make this story absolutely amazing. Unraveled follows Shriller and Alex.
Yes. That Sriller. And that Alex. The two best friends who give each other shit. Shriller, Brookes ex. And Alex, Brookes best friend.. THOSE TWO!
The thing is, they make this book so amazing that it doesnt even matter who they are. They just make their own story and keep their fuck you attitudes about it.
And the ending.. Prepare yourself for an epic ending..
I can not wait to see what comes next from Nicole.

Alex and Stephen agree things aren't working out and go their separate ways.
Alex goes home that night and Adam pushes her to find out what's happened, when he finds out its the beginning of their friends with benefits relationship. They both have strong chemistry even though they both agreed not to fall for one another. Once their friends find out they warn them things can go south.
Can they survive this???
Cant wait for book 6.

I received an arc from the author. Holy Hot Stuff Hannah!! This book was so hot I couldn't put it down! Shiller the Thriller has crashed during a race and now he heads back home to rehab. Only he needs some help. Alex has a spare room in her apartment so she offers to help him. The banter between these two is fun! Now if they can just remember that they are friends with benefits and don't fall for each other. Yea that doesn't work so well. But alas we must wait for the next story!

Going to combine this book's review and book six since they are duets.
Book is NOT SAFE.
First book
-My issue with the book came from the first page. We experience the hero getting a bj from his girlfriend (not heroine). Don't like reading about it and it was completely unnecessary...it literally adds nothing to the story.
-Other than this I did like the book. The heroine was annoying at times because she was supposed to be strong and confident, but she let her boyfriend (not hero) bring her down.
Second book
-They both are not celibate during their separation
-Heroine is more annoying than hero. She lied and lied. And hurt the feelings of the dude she was dating. Chris was a good dude...too bad she played with his feelings

I absolutely loved this book !! Its full of excitement, drama, fall outs and make ups, romance and lots of hot steamy sex scenes.
A family that has been brought together, although not through blood, but their friendships and loyalty know no bounds.
Shriller has one hell of an accident that nearly destroys his career and losing a friend in the process shocks him completely. He is definitely not used to relying on anyone and hearing that he will need extra help while recovering is not wants he wants to hear. He is a successful alpha male who likes to play the field, commitment is a word he doesn't have in his vocabulary.
Alex has been friends with Shriller since forever, she is one hot chick who knows how to stand up for herself and certainly takes no crap from anyone. After hearing what injuries Shriller has she tells him straight that he will be moving in with her so she can help him through his recovery, after all that what friends are for.
Alex is engaged to a very absent Stephen, leaving Alex and Shriller to get close, they are a great support for each other when things aren't going to plan. Its been months since Stephen hasn't been paying Alex any attention and she is getting frustrated and when things go from bad to worse Shriller is there !! In all ways possible !!
They both agree, its just for fun, it can never go anywhere, its just sex....right ??
The chemistry between Shriller and Alex is HOT ! Their banter is so light hearted you cant help but laugh out loud at them. You will route for this couple all the way through the book and be warned your heart will hurt by the end. I absolutely loved this book! My only complaint (which really isn't one) is that it's not Alex and Shriller's complete story!! I completely get why this had to happen this way. They definitely needed two books to get things straightened out between them. I immediately started the next book though! Alex and Shriller have been friends for forever and when Shriller gets injured, Alex steps up and has him come stay with her while he's healing. They have obstacles in their way for a lot of the time but the close proximity causes them to become closer and really feel the attraction. They aren't sure what to do about it and keep themselves as oblivious as possible to their feelings for each other as more than friends. I was completely engaged in this story from beginning to end. I read it in one sitting as I couldn't stop, I had to find out what was going to happen. The sex is explicit and fits both Alex and Shriller. The pacing of the book was perfect. There was always something to keep your attention and have you turning pages. If you have read any of the Monroe family books you will love this one. If you haven't, you will be picking those up afterwards! There is just something about them and the people that they have made family that you are drawn to and never want to leave. I love getting to catch up with past characters and other family members. This is the 5th book in the series but it can be read as a standalone (started with), but you will need to read the next one to finish out their story. I'm super excited to see this series continue!

AUGH! I’m shocked, Nicole Dykes has done it again. Given me a drama filled, over the top sexy romance about the Monroe family. But then, she leaves me on the edge at the end. Having Adam Schiller as a friend/family member has always been fun for the Monroe kids. To Brooke and Alex, he has just been a long term friend. When Adam finds himself severely injured and in need of help, Alex opens her home to help him out. Adam and Alex have a great friendship but what will living in close quarters do to this relationship? I love Alex’s strength, she knows what she wants and goes for it. It was surprising how she seemed to be compromising with her fiancé and would give up part of who she truly is when she was around him but she is so desperate for love and a family, I realized she didn’t see it herself. Adam is the opposite, no strings, loving life so he’s always kept Alex in the friend zone even though he has always been attracted to her. These two strong personalities really push each other’s buttons while bringing out the best in each other. I have to admit that I’m dying to know if they will end up together but at the same time, I’m not sure it’s the best thing. Love the complexity these two strong-willed, intense characters bring to this story. Anxiously awaiting the continuation of their journey. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Oh my Nicole has gone & done it again, with Shriller & Alex's story & what a beginner it is to do with these two & their Friends With Benefits, had definitely got a LOAD OF VERY HOT BENEFITS 😆😆😆
Well that comes the night Alex Realises after sitting with the stuffy 'Stepford Wives', of Stephen's bosses at the dinner of where he's hearing if he's got in as being a partner. And god am I so glad that she realises that before they got married, especially after you hear and imagine the style of dress Stephen sent het to wear, that in it's self should scream out to her that they're DEFINITELY are NOT RIGHT for each other.
But god after EVERYTHING Shriller went through & for his reason beingu back in Kansas City with all his Good Friends.
Oh Nicole I know you've said that both of them will have their HEA in UNDONE & I do hope it WILL be together as I do love both of them individually, but god them together is another question especially after womanizer Shriller's feelings BETWEEN the two of them is the complete opposite to his usual, casual way of sex without any real feelings involved.

This book is so good, I couldn't put it down. I absolutely love and adore Alex and Shriller. This is the first time I have read Nicole Dykes as a writer and have found that she brings her characters to life in more ways than one. She gives them so many emotions and she has a talent of drawing the reader right into the middle of it so you feel like your part of the characters friends. Alex and Shriller are great friends, and Alex offers to help Shriller recover from his motorcycle accident he had during his race. As you can guess things do heat up and they explode. You will have to read the book but it is a cliffhanger but Nicole is working on the second part of Alex and Shriller's storyline. I am so excited to read the conclusion. You won't be disappointed with the book, just grab a drink sit down and loose yourself for a few hours in what I promise will be a great read.

you meet Alex and Shriller in the previous books, and they are miles apart, you would never think they would work, but somehow they do!
I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down, I was in a total book funk and I hadn't picked up a book in days, unraveled completely blew me away! I love it!
Now, this book doesn't end in a HEA, but the heartache is totally worth it!
it had every emotion in this book, I laughed, I was angry and I also got upset.
Nicole is an amazing author and just knows how to write the words.

*WARNING* Ends on a cliff-hanger!
OK, so I confess I stumbled across this series a bit late. I've not read the previous books (although I may have to now!).
I started to read this book the day before I rode my own motorbike in for its MOT, and it was raining, and I'd not ridden all year. So, reading about a motorbike crash wasn't the best time (pmsl).
So, Shriller is badly injured. And his friend Alex is his designated carer.
Things get pretty hot pretty quickly.
But can friends with benefits ever end well?
I'm not a massive fan of changing viewpoints, but it was done quite well here.
And the massive amount of humour and banter had me smirking an awful lot as I read.
A most enjoyable, quick read.

I could quite literally swear my head off. Like oh my fucking god! Why did you do this to me Nicole!!
This was everything you want in a book. Suspense, drama, hot steamy sex scenes and feelings that have been bottled up. You know, the kind that makes you scream at your kindle going "No! Don't do it!!" "Just admit it all god damn ready!" Well that was me anyway. It was just soo freaking good!
And now i am literally clawing at my sofa because of that cliffy!! I need the next one, like yesterday!

Oh I loved this book and read it in one day I couldn't put it down.
After been in a bad bike accident shriller had to be looked after by someone and his friend stepped in Alex. It all started with help and friendship but after Alex bf was trying to change who she was and they split things got quite hot between the friends.
I gave this 4 stars as it ended on a cliffhanger I love ,a book with a HEA but I have too wait now. Love all the characters and like seeing where all are even though it not there book. Xx

Did that seriously just happen? Nooooo! You'll have to read this one to find out what we're all on about! Loved this new addition. The Monroe family has grown on me. This book is full of angst, sexiness and a lot of "I told you so's" lol!

This is probably going to be my shortest ever review but I have to go and dive into the next book! This book was so easy to fall into and before I knew it I'm just left there, hanging! I have a feeling the next book is going to be just as amazing and I can't wait. Nicole's writing style is addictive and is great at describing and really making you feel like you're there living it with the characters. Now onto the next book!

I absolutely loved Alex and Shriller's story. It wasn't an instant love story. It was gradual. I don't like the cliff hanger at the end. I was wanting a fairy tale ending but I understand the need to end something like that to let it build up go another book. Can't wait to read the next.

Shriller is HOT!
I was not expecting to like Alex and Shriller as much as I did.
Alex has always come across as a B and Shriller has never really appealed to me. That was until Unraveled!
Shriller is HOT! Alex is a ball buster that has to re find herself.

Forbidden Love
This story of forbidden love is gut wrenching! At 1st you don't see it coming but then BAM it hits you like a train wreck! It's like Adam and Alex are all of a sudden perfect for eachother but no one sees it but you! This series is a must read!
