Rylan should be 45 years old.

His heart should beat regularly and pump blood through his veins.

His skin should feel warm, not ice cold and free of imperfections.

Rylan is a vampire and he will never be human again.

When Rylan meets Kady he falls irreversibly in love with her. A long lasting and physical relationship is impossible with him being a vampire and she a mere human.

But what if there were a way they could be together? What if there were a way to reverse the disease that possesses his body?

Kady’s father, Dr Allister Matthews, is a world renowned stem cell researcher who has found a way to cure vampires of their disease.

The process is called Reanimation.

The question is, if you were a young, indestructible vampire gifted with immense power, unattainable speed and unimaginable wealth set to live for an eternity and you were given the chance to reanimate back into a slow, weak, vulnerable human being, would you do it?

Would you do it for love?

I’m a happy farmer’s wife and a dedicated mother of two. I work part-time on our farm and rarely want to do anything other than write in my spare time.

I’ve only been writing since September 2014 and even though it’s taken a long time for me to realise what it is I want to do with my life (regarding career choice) I can’t tell you how comfortable and confident I feel when I write.

Why do I write? Because I want to make people cry, laugh, feel every aching heartbreak and moment of pure elation and point of ecstasy my characters experience.

Admitting to myself and others that I wanted to write and become a published author, at first, was confusing and scary to them and me. Never had I thought it be possible that I write more than one full length novel…but I have and now I am a published author.

I hope you enjoy my novels and all future novels yet to be published by me.

Thank you for your support. You're the best.

Once a vampire, always a vampire, right? A human and a vampire could never fall in love and find a happy ever after with each other, right? Stacey McCoy’s REANIMATION says otherwise and it looks like she may be turning the entire vampire genre on its ear!

Rylan is a vampire who has fallen in love with Kady, a sassy, independent young woman who has a few issues from her past. She also is the daughter of one of the greatest minds in the world and it seems Dad has created a “cure” for the Vampire disease. (No, it is NOT a wooden stake) Dr. Allister Matthews has developed a serum that will actually turn a vampire back into a living, breathing human with a normal expiration date!

If Ryan really wants Kady to share his life will he risk losing his powers, and his immortal nature for love? For the outspoken Kady, not reanimating is not an option and now Ryan is faced with perhaps one of the most difficult choices he will ever make.

Stacey McCoy has created a new, yes, NEW twist on vampire tales and it is both fascinating and completely entertaining! Kady is a great character, funny, hard-headed and maybe just a little too rigid. Rylan is no match for the force of nature that is Kady and of course they have their ups and downs, miscommunications and to be honest, Allister is NOT a fan of Rylan’s. Neither is Lawrence, Allister’s fellow scientist, best friend and to be honest, a vampire, himself.

A fresh read with just enough turmoil and quirkiness to be fabulously entertaining from start to finish, as well as a firm foundation for a new trilogy!

I put this one down months ago, and I really don't see myself picking it back up. I have heard good things about the book, however its just not my type at the moment.

This book series was recommended and given to me to read from a friend. I love reading fantasy and supernatural books so this was different in that the vampires can return to be human and that the main storyline of the book was of will he or won't he? Because of the issue of reanimating to human and the book was solely focused on the relationship between Kady and Rylan. Love that the author has turned a what could be a cliche book into something completely different.

A love story with bite. If you liked The Twilight and The Shade of Vampire series then you might find that this book is well worth a read. The storyline is certainly different and unique but the characters are what will grab you as you follow them along their turbulent journey.

*I won this through Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for an honest review*

3.5 stars. This was really good, and Im glad I was given the chance to read it. Once reading the description on the back cover of what the story was about, I was rather excited to find out I had won a copy. Once I begin reading this, I was not disappointed. I did find the romance was a bit much but thats just me as it wasnt over the top or anything, but that is why its 3.5 stars and not 4. The idea of curing vampires to become human is such an interesting idea. The reunion scenes were tearjerkers both in happiness and sadness. And the end part about what Rylan's blood could do....(I wont give it away), but it was such a good idea! I will be keeping an eye out for book 2!

Thank you Stacey McCoy!

A vampire trilogy with a twist! Kady meets Rylan and they fall in love. But cannot be together unless one of them decide to change. Kady father can cure this vamps disease by process of reanimation. First novel in this trilogy, the story line is compelling and so different to other vampire novels. The characters and background stories are integrated well together. This novel gives a good insight to the struggles of being a vampire and is love enough to make Rylan want to change? Great first novel in the trilogy, can't wait to read the next two releases.

Stacey McCoy is brilliant! I absolutely loved “Reanimation”, the first book in her Reanimation Trilogy, and I cannot wait to get into the second book now. This is a can’t-put-down, don’t-want-to-put-down book that will have you from the very first page.

I had a chill from the very beginning of this book, and then it turned red hot! I absolutely LOVED it! This is the first book I’ve read by Stacey McCoy, and I will be reading the next books in this trilogy, as well an others she has written. I was hooked from the first word, first sentence. It read so smooth to me, and I felt like I could’ve been standing right in the mix with Kady, Mick and Rylan. The book starts out at Mick’s bar, where Kady works and Rylan is just newly hired. It took mere seconds and I was gripped. I loved that Kady was a really rough, tough, no-one-is-gonna-break-me-down kind of girl. She’s very dominant and not shy about it. I loved her sassiness and dominant tone, and I could feel her vibe from the very beginning. In fact, she felt a lot like me, so I was captured early and couldn’t wait to see what she would do or say next.

There were immediate sparks when Kady meets Rylan for the first time. She knows it, he knows it. But Kady also feels something entirely different with Rylan. Every time he is near her, she feels like she’s known him for a long time, and she also gets a very cold feel from, and around, him. I don’t mean a cold shoulder or not connecting; she literally feels the cold temperature around him when he is near. She can’t quite figure it out. She is immediately attracted, highly interested; she knows Rylan is different than other guys, special in some way, and she wants to figure him out.

Although there are other characters in this book, I immediately recognized the crazy connection Kady and Rylan had, and I had to see if they developed a relationship. I couldn’t put it down. It is extremely catchy, seems so vivid that I could visibly put characters together in my mind. And...I was so glad to read something refreshing and different. This isn’t your normal, everyday romance novel. Without giving too much away, if you are into non-traditional, “paranormal”, and vampire-involved love lines, you will absolutely enjoy this. It is genius, inventive, and most certainly innovative. It isn’t even your “normal” vampire storyline. It was such an easy, quick and enjoyable read for me. I didn’t want to take my eyes away from it, and I loved absolutely everything about it. I cannot wait to read the next book in the trilogy, and the next one, and the next one. I thought “Reanimation” was absolutely brilliant, and I cannot wait to start the second book.

What would you give up for love? â¤ï¸

"Instantly I’m captivated by this gorgeous creature who leans on the bar beside me. I feel my jaw drop as I stare into his piercing ice-blue eyes as they lock with my mixed green. Immediately I feel like I’m under his spell."

This is my first book by Stacey McCoy but it definitely won't be my last (least of all because I need to read book two and three in this trilogy!!). I absolutely love the concept of being able to cure vampires from their disease - it's this unique and interesting take on vampires in the paranormal romance genre that made me one click Reanimation. I love that vampires can now have a choice to become human - it's an unusual take on the question of "what would you give up for love?" which is normally posed to the human in the relationship who have to contemplate becoming a vampire.

I'm not normally one for paranormal romance (my only previous experience is with the Twilight series which I loved, plus the TV shows Buffy and Angel) but I got to chatting with Stacey McCoy on Facebook and the more I heard about Reanimation and the Reanimation trilogy I was so intrigued with the concept that I had to one-click immediately and find out for myself if it was as good as I hoped.

And to be honest, Reanimation blew me away. The lead characters - Kady and Rylan - were so well-rounded, with extremely fascinating backstories, family stories that will have you tearing up and genuine emotions and reactions to the storylines. Kady was the epitome of a 20 year old woman in love with a man who appeared to be "to good to be true" and Rylan sounds like the perfect vampire boyfriend. Oh and can I say that we better see more of Kady's best friend/father figure Lawrence - he definitely needs a HEA!!

With Stacey being a new writer - the only negative thing I noticed was that her inexperience did show a little throughout the writing of the story. In saying that, with a young Kady being the perspective in which the book was told, the immaturity could be also attributed to her voice. There was nothing glaringly obvious, just a feeling I got as I read the book.

Reanimation was a fabulous spin on the vampire-human romance dilemma. And I'm very much looking forward to where Stacey takes Kady and Rylan next when Eradicate comes out at the end of October.

Loved this first part of the Reanimation trilogy. Having had no experience of reading the popular vampire genre, I was astonished at the originality and complex process of plot navigated by self-published author, Stacey McCoy! It takes a lot of convincing and a good solid story line to bring about imagined fictional worlds into book form, and I found it credible within the context of the story, based in Vancouver, Canada. (I think Canadians would love it, and would recommend they give it a go.) Loved the two main characters - Kady is a really strong female who holds her own, and Rylan is a convincing love interest for her, strong in his own right. Lots of romance, vampire style, and the plot runs well, with plenty of action. The book is clearly laid out, easy to get into. Cover design and concept all shine. Have had the good fortune to meet this author, (promote/work with), and attend some of her workshops and talks, am very impressed by Stacey's commitment to her projects. Would recommend to anyone interested in learning more about process, and know fans of this genre will not be disappointed! Now to get some time to read the next two! Congratulations, Stacey!

This book is very different from normal vampire books. In this one a cure has been created to cure the vampire disease and turn them back into a human. When I read the description of this book I had a feeling I would really enjoy this book and I wasn't disappointed. I definitely felt more of a closeness to Rylan and Kady but still really liked all the characters in this book. The only thing I didn't care for too much was how quickly Kady and Allister forgave Noreen. I think there should of been more there instead of a quick forgiveness once her story was told. I still really enjoyed this book besides that one thing. I didn't want this book to end so I'm definitely glad that the author mentioned at the end there will be another book. I can't wait to read book 2. I will say that if you like vampire books you should give this one a try.

I received an Arc from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was pleasantly surprised reading this. I have not read a PNR with vampires in a while and enjoyed reading this. I don't know if my mind was in a different place when I tried to start this when I originally received it but I am glad I was given the nudge to read it again with a fresh outlook. I even re-started it to make sure I would go through it all at once.

This was my first read from this author and will happily read more from her. The thought that your true love would change his existence that he has only known for the last 21 yrs to spend the rest of his life with you is true love. Considering other books about vampires I have read none have gone to this level Rylan did for Kady when he realized she was his future.

I can't wait to read the next one in the series to continue their story.

NOTE: I RECEIVED THIS BOOK FROM GOODREADS FIRST READS IN RETURN FOR A HONEST REVIEW

This book has definitely left me wanting more in the trilogy and to continue on reading it. Within the first chapter I was already left stunned at how the author managed to write and be so descriptive and clear but not too descriptive that it was over done. The story had me wanting to turn the page faster then I could read as I wanted to know what would happen. The characters were left as simple as possible which made the storyline easy to follow and make sense. I will definitely be reading the trilogy of the books. For a Vampire book it is amazing and even if you are not a fan of the supernatural you will still love it.

Reanimation is an interesting twist on the typical vampire romance novels current available. This book instead presents us with the conundrum 'what if vamprism is no longer permanent'. What life would you choose; to be alone forever or to have one lifespan with your human love.

Reanimation was well written and drew the reader into the lives of Rylan and Kady as they grappled with these choices. Stacey McCoy created an array of characters, both main and secondary, who are funny, engaging and relatable. This book is filled with insta-love so be prepared to suspend disbelief and do not expect a slow burning romance.

I would definitely recommend this book and am excitedly jumping into book two in this trilogy Eradicate.

I loved this book from start to finish. I've never read a book about vampires that has a cure for vampire. It's fantastic. You read books about vampires that may explain how they became a vampire but there has never been a cure . An absolute must read if you like vampire books. Stacey has done an absolute marvellous job on this

Stacey McCoy's Reanimation is a fresh twist on the vampire story, she has written it so well. The characters feel like they jump out of the page and introduce themselves, only to pull you into the story when they return. Any Fantasy/Vampire lover will definitely be doing themselves a favor by picking this one up.

Plus as an added bonus it is number 1 in a series.

This was a great read, I really liked the twist on curing Vampireism. The characters were really good especially how Rylan was so torn in regards to what to do when he loves Kady. Some twists and surprises for not only Kady and Rylan but also Kady's Dad Allister keep you on your toes! I can not wait to see where book 2 goes and hopefully we see Lawrence.

Intriguing story line and characters. The story flowed well, and I'm excited to see what happens next! A cure for vampires? I haven't seen a story line like this since the TV remake of Dark Shadows, but this is much more scientific. I enjoyed this book a lot!

Reanimation was such a great read! Right from the beginning, the writing pulled you in and so did the characters. I love Kady's spunk and how she isn't afraid to stand up to fight for what she believes in and what she wants. And I loved how the realistic struggles that plague any couple are balanced against the loftier problems that come with Rylan's vampire disease. The ending was a satisfying finish to this part of Rylan and Kady's journey. I absolutely recommend this book!
