The Empowered Parent: How to Parent Without Frustration, Anger and Guilt is a powerful glimpse into the therapy sessions of a counselor working with the conflicts and problems that plague parents, families and children. Many times similar families enter therapy with the same types of problems. However, some families will remain intact in spite of conflict and strife, while other families will shatter under the pressure. Through his professional training, observation and personal experience, the author explores this phenomenon and suggests that when parents focus on the relationship they have with their child-opposed to focusing on the child's behavior-the family remains intact. The stability of a relationship-focused family seems to occur regardless of parental mistakes or the nature of a child's misbehavior. These observations, or concepts, are the basis for the author having written The Empowered Parent: How to Parent Without Frustration, Anger and Guilt
