Nix Banner

2 books6 followers
Nix Banner was summoned on a dark and stormy night in Hell. Literally. A pentagram was drawn by the Devil himself, as he called upon the one and only person he is and ever will be afraid of. And.. There she appeared. She's short, has a feisty temper, rotten tongue and takes no bullshit from nobody.

Following behind her is her trusty Reverse Harem of book boyfriends. Two up front, her Vampire King Griffon and her Lion God Ethan, stood by her, possessive hands battling for the right to hold her close. With a flick of her wrist, they are frozen, bodies forced to turn back, shame etching their faces, as to embarrass their Queen.

A man of epic proportions named Graysen and a man of Irish descent with a heavy accent named Kieran, rushed to stand next to her, ever the Gentleman. Nix gazes at the men, then upon the Devil himself who called her, "Well.. Well.. Well.." She clucks her tongue, circling the poor brute, "What is it you need?" A fiery glow forms and a red token appears, worth billions in the Demon world, "My Liege-" The Devil bows low, Minion's following his lead, hands risen much like a prayer but instead it held a book. Nix's book. The click of a pen sounds and she scribbles upon the open page. "Who am I making this out to?" The Devil speaks, briefly raising his head, before lowering it. "My daughter-" He lets out a harsh cough at the fib but Nix lets it slide. "And what is her name?" She questions in a bored voice, as the man scratches the back of his neck in a flustered fashion, "Lucifer XXIIVV, My Queen." With a flick of her wrist, she finished in an instant, pushing the book back at him. "There you go!" She sends him a dazzling smile, looking about the crowd. "Who's next?" Instantly, the males swarmed her.

People are comparing it to an episode, but to me it looked more like a prologue before the actual story. And I don't really see the point of giving out the story in snippets. Because by the time the next chunk comes out, people might forget about it altogether. But what do I know? The length was extremely frustrating, because it did look like something I might like but am unable to get.

I received a ARC of Framed for an Honest Review. Framed is centered around Emily. She has been accused and found guilty of a murder she did not commit. Framed introduces us to a paranormal world where women are valued and fewer than men. However, Emily was born on the streets having a hard life. Making it easy for her to be accused. After being found guilty she is lead to a room where she meets a man, sitting on a throne and behind him are his two male pets. What follows is a brief interaction that sets up for part two. I don't want to give anything away, but I will tell you it's setting up for some serious fun and lots of naughty. Framed is a very quick read that will be telling a story little chapters at a time. I cannot wait to see where this will be going and how the series will play out. Yes it is very short, but I believe it sets it up for a very promising RH paranormal series.

I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it

This is a serial, and it will be delivered in 3-4 chapter size per book.

I am excited for the next book, this book sets the story up for the series, it's a fresh idea, well written and it drew me in straight away.

I urge you to read this, it is shaping up to be a fantastic story with a storyline different from anything I have read so far and the men on leashes are intriguing, also had a twist I did not see coming

This is a great short read, I highly recommend this book, I absolutely loved it

2.25 confused stars...

I'm trying to figure out what I really thought of this book. I understood what was going on for only a couple pages and then it was like things were just thrown together and things happened with out them being described. It's got potential but I need it to be more fleshed out AND I need each installment to be more than 16 pages!

So this is my first time reading a serial, and I'm still on the fence as to how I'll feel about a serial in general. This review is only for the actual writing.

I enjoyed this first part. The writing within the paragraphs was very detailed, so it was easy for me to picture what was going on. However, it was a bit choppy from paragraph to paragraph. It seemed to jump around a bit, especially the trial scene, so that was a little difficult to follow. But after that, it flowed much nicer.

I liked the heroine a lot, she was sassy and strong without being too stubborn headed (for example when she chose the "easy way" when the guards came to get her the first morning. Smart girl) but she was still mouthy, which was just her being her and I liked.

The scene where she first meets the guys is also a bit choppy, but still steamy, although dark (which is fine by me).

I am certainly intrigued to continue reading this serial and dive more in depth to this world.

I was confused from the get go, Im unsure if it will be explained further in the weeks, but i felt as if the beginning was not a good way to start. There wasn't many details so it was hard for me to pick what has happening in the book. Also when the "Evil Guy" was shoving his **** down her throat, you figure she would have fought harder or biten him or something, she just let it happen. IF she was struggling it was not portrayed very well. I gave 2 stars simply because I liked the chicks attitude when she flicked said mean guy off. Also the chapters were wayyyy to short. It was only like 1 kindle page per chapter. At least make 2-3 pages per chapter, even if it cuts the book to 10 chapters. It is better than have 20 chapters each 1 page.

Maybe it will get better in the upcoming weeks.

Ok so I'm rating it and reviewing it for what is actually written. Yes it's only 19 pages and that's extremely short. The author has stated that this is a serial though and that there will be releasing every couple weeks. So you can't give a bad rating just b/c it's too short. Now for the story. I liked it. So far it wasn't as dark as I thought it was going to be. Yes there is some sexual...depravity, maybe... but nothing too bad so far. It's just a quick intro into the world to get a look at the characters. I might wait for a couple more to come out before I read again so I get more story at a time but for just a quick read it was good.

Nix Banner is officially "The Dark Harem Queen"!

Nix Banner is officially "The Dark Harem Queen"!

Awesome start to this dark paranormal Reverse Harem! Very steamy times throughout and obviously more to come. This book is a serial and the Author says she'll release another part/episode every couple of weeks.

I can't wait for the next installment! I need more of my submissive twins!

✨4 1/2 stars ✨
This was a great start to the rest of the series! For the most part it was dark fantasy mixed in with some very steamy scenes. The author managed to capture my interest in those few pages of book one. The steam in this book wow 😍. The way book one ended has me wondering what will happen next. I do have some questions though I imagine the answers will come in time after reading the next book. Can't wait to see what else Nix has in store for her readers!

First, this book is only 16 pages long. When it starts to get interesting it ends. A major let down considering the build up and recommendations I got for this book. I was very disappointed. There is a second book, but it answers nothing. I would strongly suggest not even reading this until the author puts this book, the next book and finishes the story ( with more than 20 pages ). I would give it more if there was more written.

Short, sweet and a more than a little filthy! I'm not usually a serial kind of girl, I really hate waiting. But this was the perfect hit whilst waiting for the kiddo to fall asleep. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes, the first few chapters had enough intrigue, filth and suspense, to make me 100% want to check out the next few chapters!

Great short read, it is well written. And of course RH, which we all love and pine for. During these few chapters we learn that the MAC has been taken and imprisoned in false pretences.
There was an extremely steamy scene at one point *fans self*
Don't let the size of the book put you off. As it just means more will pop out sooner.

Left confused and wanting more...

I don't know how this could even be considered a "Book 1"...maybe a few chapters of a book. But is was so short that you can't even really understand what the story is supposed to be about.

Confusion...

Not bad writing, but extremely short and ends abruptly. Not really a full story, just a scene that is broken up into chapters that are way too short.

Although this is very short even for a serial it's enough to catch interest and I'm looking forward to see where this goes! Be warned this is dark and may not be to everyone's tastes

Let me just start out saying I usually hate serials because they are so short or I refuse to read them until the story is finished because I have issues with impatience. The good thing about them though is they usually come out crazy fast in comparison to regular series. That being said, despite this being a serial or episode however you want to classify it, I really enjoyed this story. This is a great start to a series about a girl who was framed for a murder and as a result is sentenced to enslavement. Beware a cliffhanger, but it's totally worth it. This is one series I will for sure be all over as soon as the next one comes out.

I don't really have words to express my thoughts on this book. Other than, what the heck just happened? I didn't understand any of it, and it was extremely short. The shortness isn't that bad, it's just there isn't really anything to it that makes it frustrating. And it does have a trigger warning, but I just never imagined that the main character would sort of feel like the bad guy.

I think I may read more of this series serial, but I'm unsure at the moment. It ends in a major cliffhanger ending.

This book is a prologue and the first two chapters of the full book. It is my understanding the author will release approx 3 chapters at a time until the book is complete.

That being said, this book is steamy!!! I've never been one for "dark romance" but Nix Bannon brought out the darker side of me. 👿 Not only does this book have three (so far) drop dead gorgeous guys but it is also full of intrigue! A RH + whodunnit = your next obsession! Read at your own risk, because you may not be able to return to your vanilla romances. 👨👨👸👨👨

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'd call this book 4.5 stars.

This was a great debut for the author. The only reason it's not a 5 star is because I prefer longer stories. My understanding is this is book one in a planned serial with each book planing to be 3-5 chapters apiece.

The book starts with Emily finding out she is found guilty of a murder she didn't commit (hence the title Framed) and is subsequently taken to prison. We get a glimpse of one to maybe three of the love interests (this is a reverse harem, she will end up with multiple men). I don't want to give spoilers, but there is a dark theme to the whole story so make sure you can handle various triggers. She ends the book on a very intriguing cliffhanger and I am looking forward to the next book to see how she spins what we saw/learned at the end.

Overall I think this is a great start and I'm looking forward to seeing more from this author.

First of all, this book is a serial, so if you like longer books wait till this series is finish. Second, this series has a lot of potential! There were a few grammatical and spelling errors but overall enjoyable read.

I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it

This is a serial, and it will be delivered in 3-4 chapter size per book.

I normally do not read books that are series, as I find the wait to find out what happened to be excruciating, or I forget portions of the story, or miss an installment to the story. This story, however, grabbed me from the first page. It’s a fresh idea, well written and I am anxious to get the next installment! I am adding Nix Banner to my “one click” options to ensure I can follow Emily’s story.

I urge you to read this, it is shaping up to be a fantastic story with a paranormal characters, a dark plot, as well as men on leashes (!!) It also had a twist I did not see coming and I want to discover how the twist plays out.

This is a great short read, I highly recommend this book, I absolutely loved it.
