Vi Voxley’s “Rhys: Alien Raiders’ Brides” was grand fun and a bit of a step away from her more typical stories in that the female lead, Quinn, had a much stronger role in terms of saving the day. And I have to say, I’m really liking the new alien race in the Galactic Union universe for they are as ruthless as they are sexy. Much like the Brions and other species, the Nayanors have their one-true mate and they are enamored of humans who are genetically compatible with them.
Much like Vi Voxley’s other stories, this has a heavy science fiction element but instead of the typical battling of aliens, Rhys is forced to battle his own people, which he could probably do with one hand tied behind his back and still wield that ginormous sword.
I really enjoyed both leads. Quinn was a strong character and it was easy to root for her. The harbinger, Rhys, was sexy and reasonable, which if you’ve read other stories by Voxley, you would know that isn’t usually the case but it seems to be with the Nayanors, at least so far. The story was fast-paced, engaging and the sex scenes are scintillating.
All in all, completely enjoyable and I hope to see more of the Nayanors.
Vi Voxley has another winner in this great new KU Library read and addition to the Alien Raider's Brides series. It takes place on the planet Luminos, from which Nayanor warriors attack Terran spaceships to steal the women aboard them. Quinn Ford survived one such attack a year earlier when her younger sister Cassie shoved her into an escape pod. Since then, Quinn has worked in space, waiting for the raiders to open another wormhole and take her to Luminos, where she hopes to locate Cassie. When the raiders finally come, Quinn goes willingly, right into the arms of her mate, Rhys, a deadly Nayanor harbinger. As with other alien/terran stories, there is a cultural adjustment period, but about halfway through the action kicks in, making this a very difficult book to put down.
Move over Brions, Vi Voxley has given you some serious competition in the alpha male, multi adventure, glued to your kindle, tense adventures.
Rhys is the second in the Alien Raiders series of the Nayanors from the mysterious planet Luminous. The Raiders create their own worm holes and attack both ships and planets to steal as many women of child-bearing age as are there. They don't leave a single one behind.
Quinn was not anxious to be stolen by the Nayanors, but she goes willingly as she must find her younger sister, Cassie. In book 1 Cassie pushed Quinn and two other girls into a pod and dispatched them into space. Hoping they could find their way to safety. They did. Quinn is almost immediately seen by her fated mate, Rhys. He tries to take charge of her, but she spots her sister Cassie helping to lead the taken women to holding areas. Cassie is thin and looks like she has been abused. Quinn won't tolerate that. Not for an instant. Rhys is forced to reprimand Cassie's fated, Dolor about his treatment of his fated. This goes against the traditions of Nayanors and causes anger among his men. Quinn and Rhys seem to get along very well and soon their fated bond is strong and growing stronger. He lets her know that there will not be much time once on Luminos before the 'Long Night' arrives. A period of intense cold, driving winds, and snow. Anyone caught outside, no matter whether warmly dressed or even in a ship will soon freeze to death. Hundreds are lost each year to the Long Night.
They make one last journey to the hills where Quinn glimpses fields of luminescent flowers which gives the planet its name. These will all be destroyed by the Long Night, but their roots are deep and they shall return in the Spring. It's rapidly getting colder and Rhys shows her a secret passage into the fortress. Unfortunately, Rhys is too large to squeeze through, but Quinn, by removing her outerwear can scrape by. Thus begins the first of several harrowing, scary, edge of your seat adventures. In the midst of all the treachery going on, his close friend Harbinger Kol-Eresh comes with his people, as their gates will not fully seal. without that seal, they are all doomed. Rhys takes in his people and realizes that there will need to be rationing of their food to survive and places for all. Women and children on the lowest levels which are warmer. Kol-Eresh was born in Rhys's stronghold when he was just an infant. Rhys's father stood at their door until the long night was over, then her fell to his death protecting the women and their sons.
Multiple episodes of treachery and madness, death, bloody battles, piles of dead bodies. AND a HEA. Are you ready to read another of Vi Voxley's outstanding multi-faceted adventures? Go Get your copy!
Quinn deliberately let herself be captured by the Nayanors so she could find her younger sister Cassie who was taken by the raiders a year ago in another raid. Her sister literately pushes her into a life pod to save her. Now she has a chance to find out what happened to Cassie as the ship she is on is attacked and all the women are being taken, so she is determined to keep her promise to her mother to see her sister safe. But it is not a normal foot solider who is to be her fated mate, no it has to end up being the Harbringer himself Rhys and he will not stand by and let anyone hurt his fated least of all his own men. Rhys is going to convince his fated mate Quinn that they are destined to be together but he will have a difficult time as the home planet Luminos is heading into the long night which is a time the whole planet will freeze for at lest four weeks and everyone not inside the fortresses will freeze. To add to Rhys and Quinn problems Cassie has been found but is mated to a warrior called Dolor who is not treating her very nice at all. This is unacceptable to Rhys as he wants his fated mate happy and he will have to intervene which will create more problems for him as he has traitors in his fortress who will stop at nothing to make usre Rhys and Quinn do not survive the long night. A big thank you to Vi Voxley for the wonderful review copy Loved it. Highly recommend this series.

Well written and edited with an engaging story. Sex scenes should have been much more explicit. They where very tame and vague. Read with KU. I paid for this!
Quinn was almost captured by the Nayanors last year but her little sister, Carrie tricked her into a escape pod and saved her. Carrie was captured by the Nayanors. Now once again Quinn ship is under attack by the Nayanors but this time Quinn doesn't want to escape. She promised her mom to always look after Carrie and the best way to do that now is to be captured. She does help some other woman to escape with angers a Nayanor who is about to attack her. He is stopped by Rhys, a harbinger (elite warrior and leader). Rhys knows Quinn is his fated mate. Quinn goes with Rhys without a struggle which surprises him. Quinn is resigned to being Rhys's mate because it is the best way to hunt down Carrie. She is shocked to find Carrie before she even reaches Rhys' home. She sees Carrie helping load captives into their shuttles. Carrie looks abused and unhappy but Rhys stops Quinn from interfering. Rhys is confused by Quinn determination to help her sister. It goes against all Nayanor's rules. I really enjoyed the wold building in this story. Rhys is a great mate, strong but caring. He will do anything for Quinn. The drama with the long night and the storm is fantastic. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest opinion.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Quinn Ford and Harbinger Rhys. Quinn knows the ship she is on is under attack by the Nayanors but she refuses to run away and hide. Last time they came she lost her younger sister when she shoved her into an escape pod but did not join her. This time she is determined to find her and rescue her. Little did she know what that would mean or how much she would have to fight to make that happen. One look though from Rhys and all of her plans have changed. Don't get me wrong she still wants to find and help her sister but she wonders can she have it all for herself as well?
Rhys has been waiting for a long time to find his fated mate. So when he comes upon her in a hallway hurt he knows someone will pay. Rhys knew that he had a strong woman when he met his fated he just never knew how stubborn she was as well. When she runs from him he knows something must be up but for all his training he doesn't know what to do. Rhys knows the Nayanors and what his fated is doing will cause problems. Can he not only help his mate to make her happy but keep her as well or will he loose it all because of another's actions?
This book is amazing it has enough action to keep the story flowing with excitement, enough suspense to have you wondering what is next, and enough hotness to want a cold shower throughout this book. This book has many twists and turns that I want to tell you all about but don't want to ruin the book for any other readers. I will say that this book will have you on the edge of your seat from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
As with the first book of this series, there were a moderate amount of grammatical errors. Sometimes you could smoothly press on in spite of them and other times you could not.
Character rating: both characters had strong, well rounded personalities and showed growth throughout the story. However, there were times when both characters would regress in their progress, making the flow of the story unnecessarily complicated.
Story: the foundation of the story - capture, instant bond as fated, trip to new planet, acclimating to a new culture, etc. has tons of potential. I really felt the author fell short more often than not on capitalizing on all that potential. Scenes felt only half way played out. Especially the scenes with Dolor. There was so much substance to play with there, but we really got nothing significant.
Chemistry: the love scenes were hot and descriptive. They were really good together.
Overall, the book is a short, enjoyable read, but not enough to buy our read again for that matter.
I'd give it 3.5 stars rather than only 3, but not enough to bump the rating to 4.
The second book is better than the first in that I am not conflicted about the love story and more was eventually explained about Luminos. I'm finding that I don't mind the overall premise of the series that Nayanor warriors kidnap women for the survival of their species. After all part of enjoyment of Sci-Fi/Fantasy stories is the vastly different cultures involved and not everyone having the same Western/American values.
I loved how Quinn's main goal was to find and save her sister even if that meant being kidnapped. I didn't love her TSTL moment which almost cost both her and Rhys their lives. I loved Rhys pretty much from beginning to end even when he had to be tough with Quinn about her stupidity. Frankly, I thought he was too nice to her.
In this book the insta-love wasn't quite so annoying or maybe I just liked the characters more than in the first book. lol
This is the next book in the Alien Raiders Brides series. The Nayanor are hunting Earth brides to continue their line. Nayanor is a very inhospitable place to live. Rhys is on a mission to find his fated and bring back as many females as he can. Rhys is the Harbinger on a mission and it pays off. He has found his fated. Now to teach her about their ways. May not be as easy as he thought. Quinn Ford is on a mission to find her little sister. She escaped a previous raid when her sister pushed her into an escape pod and stayed behind. She is fortunate to be the Harbinger's fated. If she finds her sister can they escape? How do they manage to use the wormhole if they do escape? Will her stubbornness get her into trouble? What is the Long Night? I enjoyed this battle of wills and the elements on Nayanor. I give it 5 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy without pressure to do so".
Wow another great and funny sexy book from Vi Voxley this book rocked the second new series about those Nayanors that come and raid the space ships and planets for women mates Quinn Ford has nothing to loose her older sister Cassie was taken by them and she has promised her mother that had died that she would fine her and take care of her and once the Naynaors come she helps a freighted girl to the escapes pods and is too late one again but it was her plain all along so she could find her sister but one in the ship she finds her and she looks lost in the eyes and has marks on her body from her master but Quinn vows to help her in any way she can but she has deep feelings for her mate Rys oh boy wow what is she going to do Rock the casaba this was so good and exciting just like the first book she rock I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and I loved it so much can't wait for the next one. Michelle
Vi delivers again. The action and adventure are great with this series. There is graphic violence and explicit sex. The hero is Rhys and he is what is called a harbinger, a warlord. The heroine, Quinn, works for the Union. Quinn helps another woman escape the Nayanors. This one incident has far-reaching consequence. Quinn has allowed herself to be captured in hopes of finding her sister. The Nayanors have taken all the women from the space station and are returning to their homeworld, Luminos. The homeworld is facing a time called the long night. This is a yearly storm that is very dangerous and some have died because of it. Quinn's sister is found and shows signs of abuse. This story continues to show us what the Nayanors and their world are like. There is beauty and brutality in this story. What will happen next?
I love the Nayanor. Powerful warriors. Harsh and unforgiving, from a harsh and unforgiving world. They have a sense of honour, and capable of love and compassion. They value their fated. Quinn lost her sister to the Nayanor a year ago. When her ship is raided, she chooses surrender in the hopes of finding her sister. Finds her fates in the harbinger Rhys. She quickly realizes that escape is not an option. When she finds her sister. Learns that trying to help her will only harm her. Rhys is pleased to have found his fated. He loves her strong spirit, but knows that it will also being him trouble. The dark time is upon him. Trouble is brewing in his keep. Unexpected help arrives in harbinger Kol, and his people needing sanctuary. Loved Quinn and Rhys' story. Can't wait for Kol's. I hope Cassie gets a second chance at love. Love this series.

RHYS
Another awesome read by this amazing author. The series continues with Harbinger Rhys's story, who during a raid finds his mate. She's fierce and fiery, and she's his. Quinn is on a mission to look for her sister when her ship is invaded. But instead of fleeing she stays, in the hope of finding her sister. But she's no pushover and Rhys will have a fight on his hands, not only from Quinn but also his people and the elements on Nayanor . This was a fast-paced story that is captivating and sweet, with a few twists a long the way. The characters were amazing, I loved them. Both Rhys and Quinn were intriguing and strong characters, and it was fun to read about the battle that went on between the strong-willed couple. A very exciting and enjoyable read.
I enjoyed this story enough to be willing to seek out other books from this author and/or in this series. A few places I had questions as to why the characters wouldn't have acted or provided differently, i.e. if the alien planet was so cold that nearly everything died unless protected, why didn't the aliens have space suits to protect against the temperature? They could create wormholes and travel safely through space where temperatures are absolute zero but they couldn't combat the coldness on their homeworld? To me, that just makes them seem stupid.
I also never really saw a relationship grow between the two main characters, Rhys and Quinn. He captures her, then has to rescue and defend her a few times and then they live Happily Ever After, but it never really convinced me they loved each other. Still, I was able to complete the story without becoming bored.
I have been enjoying this series and really liked this story. Quinn is determined to find her sister who was taken by the Nayanors. They like to hunt for human females to take as their mates. When she has a chance to flee from an invading group, she chooses to stay. She doesn't expect her mate to find her right away. Rhys is a man that that has ruled by being the strongest. He knows she is his and won't accept anything less than her complete submission.
I really liked how he cared so much for her that he was willing to make compromises. They have this fantastic chemistry and she can't resist him. I like how well they work together when they need to and have respect for each other too. You get the sense that fate did bring them together.
Quinn's sister Cassie was abducted by the Nayanors a year ago, and now her ship is under attack by the same warrior race. Rhys is a Nayanor Harbinger, he takes one look at Quinn and knows that she is his fated. Rhys is looking forward to returning to his fortress on Luminos and spending the long night with his fated, but the moment they arrive their lives will be in danger.
Wow, this is an exciting, sizzling hot, and sexy alien abduction romance. The characters are well written, and the plot is action packed with some fascinating twists. Fantastic book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
When a big bad alien ship comes to the earth station for repairs no one knew what would happen. Not Quinn who just wanted to do her job. When some aliens that the other aliens have been fighting gets out of the ship and into the station they have to be fought and the only ones that can fight them are the aliens. Rhys ship only needed repairs but when the humans didn't want to help they had to threaten them a little bit. When the insects crawl out onto the space station he knows he can't leave with them alive on it r the humans will become food. The book was pretty interesting have to admit the experimenting part sounds about like what we think aliens would do to us and us to them 😜
With Rhys, as with all of Vi's books, this book is as much about Quinn as Rhys. And Quinn is an amazing woman. Going into space to find and protect her little sister, she shows her bravery and tremendous heart, but we later see just how smart she is too. This book has just the right combination of action, adventure, SciFi gadgetry, romance and sexy times. The storyline as much as the characters keep you flipping the pages as fast as you can.
Maybe not the best way to find a fated mate...but it works
The second book in the series is a testament to what it takes to survive in a harsh world that is not one’s own. Quinn is bound by a promise made to her mother on her deathbed which prompts her to put herself in danger to find her younger sister. Rhys is the powerful warrior who recognizes that Quinn is his fated mate that he is sworn to protect. Can the two of them work out their differences to find harmony, especially when there is trouble lurking all around? This is a grippingly intense story that you do not want to miss! I volunteered to read an arc for a review.
Goodness me! I do believed that this might be the most graphic and bloodiest story that Vi Voxley has written. I don't even remember The Brion Brides series being this bloody and you know what, I dig it! I am so loving this series and this 2nd story is even better than the 1st. I dare say the the Nayanors, especially their Harbingers are neck to neck with the Brions in terms of their ferocity and bloodlust. The only thing that upped the Brions from the Nayanors is their recognition of their Fated Mate. I think the Brions do it better.
ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING READING PLEASURE BY VI VOXLEY
This second book in the series continues to amaze and entrance her readers with bigger than life dominant alien males and strong willed, sassy abducted females. You'll be thrilled with their struggles, interactions and Passionate Moments! So DEFINITELY RECOMMENDING THIS TERRIFIC SERIES and can't wait for her next addition to see what happens next KOL-ERESH'S BOOK!! I bet his mate Jackie is going to keep him guessing too. SOOOO PICK UP THIS SERIES BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE IT!!🔟🔟🔟🔟👏👏👏📖😲😫😜😱😄😍💑👶💝💖💞
I have read all the books and I can't wait for more but. But this series as been so good, you write about the fated. With each book I read I get more into it, I can picture it in my head I can read about the next book but I'm already picturing it in my head. Rhys was a book that I loved because of the love he felt and also Quinn couldn't deny even if she wanted to, I would like to read more about this wonderful world during the rest of the year and the bad month to. Treasa Melton
A debt to pay and a promise to keep. One she will keep to find a assure herself that tings are well. What awaits her is not in her intention. Can what she sees and feels come together with the one warrior she hadn't intended to meet? When stubbornness meets fate, it sparks bright. What a Fantastic story, really enjoyed. Can't wait to see what she writes next. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy for an honest review.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! Quinn left herself be capture by the Nayanors. She was looking for her sister. What she found was "Rhys" Rhys was a total Alpha male. He showed no mercy, but he was not cruel. However, he did care about Quinn. When Quinn is in danger, Rhys will do anything to save Quinn. He cannot live w/o Quinn. She is his heart. Awww.
I loved this book. It's well-written with a great story. It has hot romance and great action sequences, Vi Voxley standards. I think this might be one of my favorite books by Vi, despite the whole kidnapping women theme of this series. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Terran women will teach those big sexy alien men a better way of finding brides!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the second story in this series. This is a story of a devoted sister allowing herself to be captured to try and find her sister. She finds h e r sister in an abusive relationship. Her fated mate finds her. She has to try to help watch over her sister and is falling for Rhys. This story is very enjoyable. It has heart. I liked Rhys from the beginning. He had character. I highly recommend this book.
This story reminded me of the Brion Brides stories. It has a well developed story with good interaction between the two main characters, an exciting adventure, and hot exciting sex expertly interwoven into the story. The story pulled me in and I spent several happy hours reading.
