Merry has to find a way to free her brother Leo from the terrible Ronan. He's taken Leo to another reality and wants to force him to do his bidding and give up his own will. Merry will do anything she can to free her brother and this also includes magic that's forbidden by her coven. Merry is a powerful witch and the member's of the coven don't always approve of her methods. They don't want her to go after Leo, but for Merry that's simply not an option. She will get her brother back, with or without their support, and will do whatever it takes.

Merry isn't alone, she has Finn by her side. Finn is a wizard from a strict and ancient family. Witches and wizard don't usually see eye to eye, can she trust him and will he agree to help Merry with her plan to take Leo from Ronan? What will happen if they succeed? Ronan won't accept losing Leo without a fight. Are they prepared for a battle that will be more dangerous than any battle Merry has ever fought? When past and present come together it's up to Merry to find a way to save the people she loves, but magic comes at a price, will she be able to pay it?

The Witch's Blood is another fantastic gripping story by Katharine and Elizabeth Corr. Merry is fierce, strong and smart. She loves with all her heart and would do anything for the people she holds dear. She accepts any challenge if it means she can keep her family safe. She and Leo have an incredible bond and because of this they can survive anything. It's one of the things I love most about the Witch's Kiss series, this beautiful sibling connection. I loved reading about Merry and Leo once more and couldn't turn the pages quickly enough to find out if they'd find a way to defeat their enemies or if they'd end up with shattered hearts, being completely broken or worse.

Katharine and Elizabeth Corr's vivid, energetic and thorough descriptions are making their stories come to life incredibly well. I love their world building skills and really enjoy the way they write about magic. There are many mysteries that are slowly being unraveled and their great distribution of suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. The Witch's Blood is filled with unexpected twists and turns, adventure, emotions that are running high and unconditional love. I absolutely loved this terrific enchanting story and highly recommend it.

Review Taken from The Pewter Wolf

***Copy given by UK publisher, HarperCollins, in exchange for an honest review/reaction***

I’ve been holding off reading this for a while. After finding myself blitzing the second book in the series, The Witch's Tears, I’ve been a little hesitant to go back and finish this series off. I knew I would, but I never felt ready, if that makes sense. Plus, if you guys have follow the blog or any of my social medias, you know I have a tendency to start a series but NEVER EVER FINISH THEM!

So, imagine my surprise when I was chatting to the authors on social media one day at work and went “Oh hell, I’m ready!”. And because of themed reading month am planning round the corner, I had to slip it in somewhere. And when I did, I found time and hammered it out over a week (or, if we are being super picky, four sittings).

After the devastating events of Witch's Tears, Merry will stop at nothing to save her brother Leo. Even if that means ignoring her coven’s orders to do so. But doing so has unforeseen consequences for the teenage witch. As she and Leo are forced to confront evil from past and present and her powers growing, how far are they will to go to save the people close to them?

So… where do we begin?

I really like the series. Yes, it’s a bit clean teen for my tastes but I really had fun with this series and these characters and Witch’s Blood is no exception.

Like I said earlier on, I read this in four sittings, but two of them were several hours long (which is super rare for me to do. Am always doing something or, in the recent summer months, too hot to read/do anything!) and I wouldn’t do that if I did find the book a fun read. And that’s what this series is - Fun.

Ok, it’s not perfect - like I said when I read The Witch's Kiss and Witch’s Tears, this does feel a tad skeletal and there are one or two twists that readers will see coming a hundred miles aways. Plus, I sense one or two of you won’t be a fan of the ending, but after reading so many books over the past few months where their ending are complex or slightly messy, it was nice to read something that was neatly wrapped up with a bow. I know some of you guys won’t like that, but as I’ve always said this series is a series I would happily read on the beach, I was kinda relived that this kind of ending was here. I didn’t want a messy ending this time round - I wanted an ending with kissing and hopeful futures ahead.

I know I’m a bit nitpicky, but I had fun with this series and each book was an addictive read. I kinda wish I binge them backtoback over the summer or Easter break as this would have made such a fun holiday read! I am very intrigued to see what Elizabeth and Katharine’s next series, A Throne of Swans, is going to be like…

I just closed this book and I'm not entirely sure where to start my review and what to write down here. For some reason I'm really sad that this was the last book in the series, that it's really over now and that there isn't another installment to this story. On the other hand I still think that the first book was the best one, with the best storyline, although...

The last book was interesting and kinda amazing too. Especially the start of the book was really impressive and I loved the sort of alternate dimension that was created and that we've gotten to know some of the amazing characters from the very first book a little better and a little differently. I also think that the finale was pretty good and especially the final ending, although I personally would have dared to go one step further. But that's just dramatic old me.

If you're looking for a really deep, complicated and original story, this is not your story. I think overal the magic is not always consistent and the mythology has some weak points. There are moments when it's hard to follow the fights and what's happening, because that's the downside of books using magic. I also think that the pacing and arc is not always perfect.

But, I still enjoyed this series a lot. I've been on the edge of my seat from start to finish, I loved the characters we've got to meet, especially Jack, and in a way I will also miss them a lot.

So, my brain and heart do not agree on this series. But when in doubt, always go with your heart, right?

I'm glad I decided to continue after Book 2 because this was action-packed and full of interesting magic systems. But, I do still think that this didn't need to be a series; one book would have been fine.

★★★★☆ 4/5

The Witch’s Blood takes place not long after the events of The Witch’s Tears, with Leo captured by Ronan and taken to another world, one where people Merry cared for are still alive, but things are different, not everything she has been through out in her world has happened there.

With friends and family Merry has to fight to get rid of Ronan once and for all, dabbling in blood magic and the consequences behind it, doing anything she can to free her brother and end this once and for all.

As the final book in the trilogy, Merry and her brother Leo have gone from strength to strength as characters, growing and learning about themselves and magic, and their bond as siblings only increases throughout all three books. With Merry willing to do whatever it takes to save her brother, and Leo’s hope that she’ll come for him, despite how bad it gets.

From the beginning to the end I’m glad I’ve gone on this magical journey with them, and I’m truly sad it’s over, so until a reread, this is where I leave Merry and Leo.

Did I like the book? Yes

Did I love it? Kind of, it dragged a bit in places.

Would I recommend it? Yes. Finish the trilogy, see how it all ends.

A brilliant conclusion to a wonderful trilogy!
These books have everything; excitement, danger, magic, romance, power, action... what more could you want?
I think this is the perfect trilogy to read one after the other and just completely lose yourself to what is happening in Merry’s world as she tackles being a teenage witch.
I don’t want to spoil anything about this as I know how loyal the fans are, so I already know they’ll be clamouring to read this! But if you come across this book snd haven’t read books 1 and 2, is wholeheartedly suggest just buying all three and clearing your weekend! The writing is great and you’ll be utterly captivated, and downright devastated you don’t have magical powers even if they do cause a lot of strife at times! (But with no strife there’d be no excitement!)
Perfect for fans of Sally Green, Virgina Boeken and the tv series Charmed. (And of course Sabrina, you can’t mention witches without Sabrina!)

Thank you to Netgalley for the chance to read this book!

What a fantastic end to a fantastic trilogy! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading these books and the final was amazing. Action packed, on the edge of the seat stuff and I really felt for Merry and Leo. They’ve had to go through a lot throughout the 6 months these three books are sit in!

I couldn’t help but grow attached to the characters and this one was a brilliant addition with the additive of parallel worlds, plenty of magic and surprises around the corner. I could literally read these books set in this universe forever and I hope there will be more in the future. Would love to rejoin these characters to see how they were getting on after the aftermath of this book.

They were absolutely brilliant though and I devoured the whole set in no time at all. They make for very easy and enjoyable reading and is a fantastic book to stick your teeth into. Kind of sad to have finished them but so happy I got round to reading them in the end. So worth picking these books up! Loved it.

Picking up directly from the jaw dropping cliffhanger in book 2, this continues the story of teenage witch Merry as she and her friends/family tackle a new magical problem. First of all, Merry is a wonderful protagonist, and I thought she was even more strong and determined in achieving her aims in this instalment of the series. I loved the way in which her relationship with Finn developed, and I was rooting for them desperately to succeed in their romance despite the difficult situations they were in throughout the book. The secondary characters, most notably Merry`s lovely brother Leo and Finn`s cousin, who was introduced in this book, are also excellent additions to the cast, and I enjoyed the complicated dynamics of Merry`s coven, which is responsible for a lot of the conflict within the book, as well as a deeply horrible villain I don`t want to mention for fear of spoiling someone who hasn`t read the 2nd book yet! The ways in which the contemporary and fantasy elements intersect is really interesting too, and I also thought the magic system was fantastic as it both refers to back to elements we`ve seen in previous books and introduces new ones. I hadn`t expected the ending to go where it did, but it was a brilliant conclusion that`s left me looking forward to whichever of their secret projects Kate and Liz release next. 4.5/5

This whole series has been absolutely amazing. With quite a lot of popular trilogies: The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Maze Runner; the first books were amazing, the second ones ok, but by the third one, I feel like it’s been dragged on and I lost interest. With this series, I have been fully invested, heart and soul. You find yourself so wholeheartedly attached to some of the characters and the plot just hooks you. The whole series has been an emotional rollercoaster and I’m so happy I picked up The Witch’s Kiss.

I would recommend this book to everyone. ❤️x

If you’ve read my reviews before then you’ll know my reviews are about my thoughts and feelings about the book. If you want quotes, context, annotating and deeper meanings then I’m the wrong person, sorry 😅!

I started The Witch’s Kiss Trilogy a month ago after a chance Instagram conversation about a bookstagram picture that included The Witch’s Kiss, with the co-author Elizabeth Corr! I believe in things happening for a reason and due to this interaction I decided to start reading the books.

I am happy that I did, this series got me out of a reading slump but now with the release of The Witch’s Blood Merry and Leo’s journey has come to an end. 😔

These books have filled a void and a need that has been left by most YA books being American and I needed a story with people driving on the left hand side, even though there is no foul language in this book I like to think the characters say bollocks and flick the V instead of the usual bird! 😅

Tillingham was easy to image (I pictured it to be like Shrewsbury, which might be in the Kingdom of Mercia, but is still a stunning place to visit!) The characters were easy to like, even with Leo spending most of the second book pouting. The history is well thought out and well researched and the Anglo Saxon theme makes a nice change to the more common Medieval/Tudor themes. But most importantly no one spoke in a British accent! I despise when an author generalises our vast collection of accents and languages into the none existent British accent! 🤬

These books to me are as comfortable and relaxing as that old woolly jumper, that threadbare blanket or old repeats of Top Gear 😁 that you’ve seen millions of times but still laugh at the jokes. The storytelling was immersive and the writing was so fluid that before you realise it, you’ve floated through 50-60 pages and it’s way past bedtime.

I’m happy that Leo has found someone who will treat him right, I am happy that Jack finally found Meredith (instead of Merry, that’s just weird) and that Merry is with Finn (even after his revelations at the end of The Witch’s Tears). I am happy that I predicted Finn’s secret too (because I like to be proved right 😂). I liked Ronan as a villain more than Gwydion, he was much more sinister and greasier! He oozes charisma like a villain should.

I am left feeling a sense of completeness with the ending of the story, and I can’t wait to see what the Corr sisters write next that I can eat Bourbon biscuits and listen to Top Gear with! 🤔

Would I read these books again! Most definitely, over and over!

The finale in the trilogy, we catch up with Merry once again only this time she's setting about saving Leo her brother after Ronan takes him away with him. Merry is left with Finn and Jack to travel and await news of him and his whereabouts.

As Ronan plans to tie his life to Leo's, time is of the essence for Merry to find them and defeat The King Of Heart's and get them back to their normal modern day witch lives.

Merry and Meredith join forces through a surprising revelation over the two forms of Jack while Merry and Finn carry on with their beginning possible romance as travelling to save Leo bonds them more. Unfortunately there's also betrayal of trust, friendship's torn, shock deaths, mysterious black holly growing and just what has been killing people by the lake?

From visions and spell casting to surprising character returns, the finale ties up everything with shocking actions packed throughout.

The finale was good but a bit slow starting for me, I preferred the second half of the book but of course all the actions leading up to the stories conclusion were necessary. I was happy that they travelled back to their present day but not over certain characters finale's despite the initial uncertainty over characters whereabouts. Overall, I enjoyed the final book a lot and am glad to have read it.

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Katherine and Elizabeth Corr have written a perfect complex ending to the Witch’s Kiss trilogy. Read them all for their visually rich, dark and exciting world building (well, worlds - the narratives slip cleverly between ancient and contemporary) and engaging characters (some likeable, some less so – none that can be looked away from) but this one was my favourite. The books are quite dark but there are strong messages of bravery and loyalty and family that make them ultimately uplifting. Perfect ending though it is, I wish there were more to look forward to. Full (series) review up on my blog: https://chaininteraction.wordpress.co...

Again, if this book had been the second half of the book before it would have been a lot more effective (in my opinion). This was the action I had been waiting for in book two. And boy is there action? There are battles galore, betrayals, plot, and plans. There is still a hefty dose of romance and angst, but people’s priorities felt a little more in order in the final book than they did previously.

This book does have a few strange elements of writing in it, for instance, they seem to travel into something of a parallel universe, but the mechanics of this were never really explained? I’m not saying I wanted pages of theoretical physics, but it does feel at times like the term ‘magic’ is used to explain away any difficult moments in the plot.

As a conclusion to a trilogy, I would say this book is on par with the previous two titles. They are fun to read and they certainly have a lot of the things I like in YA paranormal fantasy. However, there wasn’t anything that really gripped me about them? I’m sure most readers will enjoy them, but in a market crowded with a lot of similar titles this series didn’t have enough bite that I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

I will say, that this is definitely one of the most perfect endings for a trilogy, I couldn't think of a better ending for this particular series - I loved it.

This book got even darker than the second did, which I loved, and also brought in some more fantasy creatures - unicorns and elves etc. which is always going to get my appreciations - after all that's totally my cup of tea.

You should definitely read the series if you haven't, as this is my favourite book in the series, and I'm sad to see Merry's world finished.

I cannot say I enjoyed this book as much as I liked the first one, I enjoyed it, but by the time I got round to reading this book I felt that the story had just been dragged out. I did originally love the underlying themes, however, I felt that changing the original 'rumplestiltskin' style character for the last two books just made the first book feel unnecessary, other than for laying out who the characters are. I feel like this book would have been better as a standalone or as a longer individual book.

I shouldn’t have continued the series. Some people may absolutely love this series, but it’s too childish for me and I frankly can’t stand it.

Hope other people will enjoy this more than me, as it IS well written and has good plots, characters and themes; sadly it’s just not my cup of tea😕

The conclusion of the trilogy, I was very excited to read the final book since the second ended on a major cliffhanger.

Merry knows her witchcraft is unlike anyone else's in the coven, and at this point, it's lost her the boy she crushed on, a friend, the boy she loved, and now, possibly her brother.
No one in the coven wants her to go after Leo; they believe he's already lost. Her grandmother, having lost her magic to the evil Ronan, seems to be the only one on her side but not even she is able to help her.
Only Finn can, the wizard boy who she's not sure she can trust. He had his own agenda - saving his non-magic brother who was lost to a coma invoked by Ronan. If he hadn't stopped Merry when he did, Leo might still be with her instead of trapped in another reality with evil Ronan.
Probably feeling guilty, Finn is the one who goes with her as they enter the other realm and are met with Jack.

Jack, the boy she fell in love with while he was cursed with the King of Hearts. The boy who'd died once again, who she thought had finally found piece as they shattered Gwydion.
But nothing is what it seems in this other reality; Jack is not the same boy she'd spend so much time with. Whom she'd been dreaming about for months after he'd died. In fact, even Merry's ancestors - Meredith and her sisters - are still alive. Meredith, to whom she owed her bond with Jack as she'd been the first to be in love with Jack.
(This is the part that really sucked for anyone who believed in the sweet romance between Merry and Jack - it was majorly downplayed and pretty much killed by this point as something that was never real to begin with.)
The past Merry knew - the one detailed in book #1 - didn't happen in this alternate reality. Ronan is the master in this new kingdom, Leo pretty much his slave. At this point still willing to point, but slowly losing hope his sister will come and save him.

Finn and Merry grow closer and there's some insta-love happening (way too fast and out of the blue if you ask me). A point of contention between the two is Finn not holding any magic while in this alternate reality; his Wizard House wasn't yet established at this point in history, opposed to Merry who is as strong as ever.

They manage to reach Leo in time and save him before he's bonded to Ronan forever, a puppet playing to his master's tune. The question remains, though, is it really over?

An explosive finale follows, one that's quite surprising and therefore that much better. I love that Katharine and Elizabeth Corr didn't hesitate to make this choice and it fit the story very well.

I only retracted one star because the romance between Finn and Merry felt too quick and rushed and not believable. (Mind you, I read mainly romance novels so I might look at a touch of romance in other genres from a different angle.) If you keep in mind that Merry was still very much longing and pining for Jack in book #2 and didn't trust Finn all through that book aside from acknowledging he was good-looking and knew how to flirt, the heavy romance didn't fit book #3. With Finn fighting against a temporary loss of his magic and his overbearing father's presence casting a shadow over their romance, it was just too much to be believable.

This book was a lovely end to the series - and continued the trend of being just... really easy and quick to read.

It picks up directly where the last book left off, unsurprisingly, and dives straight into the plot.
this meant that the pacing of the book as a whole was... pretty odd in a way?
The beginning portion went super fast, and then it really hit the breaks, before gearing back up to the finale. This isn't something that particularly bothered me, as I don't mind this sort of stop/start in books as long as the rest is good - in fact, I often prefer this sort of format than trying to keep the stakes really high throughout the whole novel. It was nice to get that small breather in the middle, and it gave a chance to see the relationships develop a little bit more in the down time.

The relationships felt like a strength of these books as a whole. Though the first book felt almost insta-love-y between Merry and Jack, this fell into that sort of "it is a bit insta-love, but I can kinda see why maybe?". And nice to see that the subsequent romance was definitely a lot less like this, with Finn and Merry having a lot more substance to them and their relationship. I also very much appreciated the lack of love triangle in this book. It could have been there for sure, but was deftly side-stepped. Merry did have the right amount of feelings in the situation, but was decisive enough to say what/who she wanted and stick with that.

One thing I will note is that a lot of the times, the writing, or dialogue, felt a little funky to me? But I realise this is more... Merry often sounds like a 17 year old girl.
And I am not 17.
And a lot of YA nowadays... does not read like it has 17 year old characters.
So taking this into consideration, I almost appreciate that this does feel like a teen-novel, aimed at someone younger than me - and that's totally ok.

That isn't to say that writing isn't perfect, but I do feel it has improved on the previous two books where it was more just passable.

Overal the series is good. Its not brilliant.
There is feel of rush and lack of plot buildup to it.
Its hard to figure whethere it is planned or just outcome of learning to write. I assune its the lack of expierience probably or lack of editing.

The series starts with first book which is one of novela, in the book two they are doing a continuation which spills into book three.
Its a strange way of approaching trilogy IMO, as you read the first book you think thats it and theres is going to be another two separate novels, but book two and three are connected.

Overall I enjoyed the reading it and the story. I do like my witches books but it would not be something I would want to read again.
Feels like one time is enough.

Give it 4 starts partially due to the fact that I just like books about witches and magic.
