Although I found there is much valuable information in this book. The ideas are very sound and make good common sense. Some which I am going to try, some I am already doing and some that seem a little ridiculous, you just never know what will work in this day and age of a constantly changing demographic.
I must also point out that the fashion in which the book is written I did find somewhat condescending. But that could just be me...
Worth a look.

This book is amazing if you are looking for a tangible strategy to find those readers, to offer them the right sort of value, and to maintain a lasting relationship with them. Personally, I published my first novel last year and (other than friends - thank you amazing friends!) I have not had a huge amount of readers. This has been discouraging because I know that my writing and sharing my stories is what I am supposed to be doing! But, there has been no magic formula in knowing how to find readers...until now! I love how Honoree and Brian go back and forth in sharing their personal stories and strategies in finding and building readers. The styles (although different) are woven together in a very easy to follow fashion and makes this book a super quick read. I know that through the techniques, resources (you even get a downloadable fill-in strategy workbook!), and tips offered in this book, I will be able to find readers to entertain (that would have never known me previous to my books), grow my author brand, and build relationships with thousands of people that have similar interests to me. This is super exciting! I encourage you to get this book if you are an author who may just want to find more readers, or - like me - find yourself too often on the fence of giving up your love of writing because you are discouraged. Don't give up! Read this book to help you get back on track. Thank you Honoree for another fantastic and useful book!

They've done it, you can too

This short concise book will help streamline your process. As a writer and successful gallery owner it's easy to become overwhelmed by the enormity of options to take to propel your writing career.

The authors do a wonderful job in paring down your actions to the essentials. I also love that they encourage a big vision while detailing steps to get there. The Five Stages of a writing career was illuminating-- reading through them made it feel doable. Peeping in on the authors' trajectories grounded the information -- I felt I too could follow in their footsteps.

A favorite part of the book was how the authors wrote in their own voices from their individual perspectives, alternating back and forth. I was charmed by this. So many co-authored books adoot a unified voice, sacrificing individuality. This method enhanced the book immeasurably in my eyes.

Most authors are looking for new ways to reach readers and this book is a great tool to help in that search. I belong to a lot of facebook groups full of authors and one of the most common questions is 'how do I find my readers so I can get my book into their hands?' Building a brand and implementing the steps in this book will stand many authors in good stead. I've read other books by these authors and they are always packed with useful information and first-hand knowledge of what has worked for them and others. Definitely worth a read. I was lucky enough to get my hands on an advance copy of this book and this is my honest opinion. Now, I'm off to read it again!

This thin volume has worthwhile advice on "ninja" strategies (i.e. unusual strategies) for promoting your book. As with all of this type of book, it goes out of date very quickly. For example, one great piece of advice is to make postage stamps using your book cover, but after some investigation I discovered that the USPS hasn't allowed that since 2020. (Note that some articles published in 2024, one from the NY Times, gave the same advice... Are they using AI to update the publication date on their articles...? Just askin'.)

Finding Readers is certainly worth a read, but it is a little dated and it makes no effort to be comprehensive.

The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

I have been reading Honoree's books for about six weeks now, and have found them to be uniformly helpful. I believe I have now completed the "Prosperous Writers" series. One thing this series has that the other ones do not is the collaboration of Brian Meeks. I have enjoyed the interaction of these two authors. In this book I have enjoyed Honoree's ninja tactics for finding readers, some of which are unique. I have also been impressed with Brian's detailed analysis of the numbers involved in marketing his books. Well done by both!

Well-written and easy-to-read, this book surprised me with a few hidden gems. The Prosperous Writer's Guide to Finding Readers will help you achieve exactly what's promise by its title. Several of the techniques described in the book were new to me. I particularly liked the stages in the writer's journey and the action plan. Highly recommended for any writer trying to better their marketing game.

Awesome book with great advice for indie writers - and I guess also for traditionally published writers, because who doesn't need more readers? Written in a simplistic style, it contains good advice here and there, and I've even highlighted parts to come back to and/or incorporate in my own marketing efforts.

Most books on how to market your book all contain the same basic ideas, but this one offers some truly unique and interesting ideas and most of them are free or almost free (and most of them work for introverts, like me). I found the content very helpful and have started doing some of the ideas presented.

There isn't a huge amount of information here, but what is presented is useful. Most helpful is the included marketing action plan. A quick, easy read with some unique ideas on getting your book into reader's hands.

Try some of these tips and tricks. The flips between the two authors drove me crazy, but the tips are well worth it. As soon as you realize that your book is not your baby, but is a product, then you'll be able to be free to be a prosperous writer.

Actionable suggestions

So far this is the most useful book on marketing books that I’ve read. I love that this has tons of actionable items that I can do, not vague non specific suggestions like some other books I’ve read.

Lots to think about

I really think this book is a good read for any author. I think that thinking outside the box for marketing is going to be really important in the coming years as the more mainstream methods of marketing get flooded with authors.

An Excellent Read with Ingenious Marketing Ideas

I’m already a big fan of Brian Meeks, so reading this book was a must. Now, I’m chomping at the bit to read more by Honoree. Five stars on a fantastic short read. 👍

A great read to help authors generate ideas about how to get more readers. Some of these I wouldn't advise because of post office mail rules, but the wheels are certainly turning after considering some possibilities.

Good, cut-to-the-chase information every independent book author should know. No cute stuff. Just the facts, which is good because we're busy writing and promoting!

Lots of unique, useful tips and motivations here. Just wish there were more specific instructions on how to identify one's ideal reader.

Loved this book, but . . .

Great ideas! Loved Honoree's contribution, but had a problem with Brian's. But will definitely keep book as reference in my writing.

This was, in my opinion, the absolute best book in the prosperous writer's guide series. I loved the resources and Honorée Corder's offline approach to marketing.

Didn't expected to finish this in one day.

I will apply those strategies before writing a proper review.
