Private Anthony Larsen has never seen a day of combat in his life. Stationed on a remote Martian base, the young soldier has only heard stories of war and has never had to experience the brutality of the alien invaders know only as the Zeal.
Stuck in 4th Squad in a platoon of some of Mars' forgotten defenders, Larsen's biggest problems are trying to survive the incompetence of his team leader and an ongoing rivalry with the grunts from 1st Squad. All of that is about to change when a new danger looms—one greater than a mere feud with his fellow soldiers.
Sent on a routine patrol to an abandoned outpost, Larsen and his divided fire team come face to face with a new threat the Zeal have yet to unleash upon humanity. Whether he likes it or not, the war has found him.
In the middle of an attack no one saw coming, Larsen must do what he can to stay alive while keeping his fire team from tearing themselves apart.
Refract is a novella set between book 3 and book 4 of three Reclaim series.

New characters,which is nice, with no experience against the Zeals. A prequel to another promising trilogy!
