Email marketing’s power is matched only by how incredibly misunderstood it is.
Email Marketing Rules demystifies this vital channel, taking you step by step through 150 best practices, providing extensive tactical checklists, and giving you strategic frameworks for long-term success.
Updated and greatly expanded, the 3rd Edition of Email Marketing Rules will help you…
A gentle and verbose introduction for someone who has never done email marketing before. If you have worked in the field for a couple months or done an internship, there isn't going to be much new for you here.
The approach is very qualitative and ignores many of the practical problems with running a campaign. For example, it pounds repeatedly on the fact that measuring downstream conversion is more important than opens or clicks, but does not acknowledge that rarer events farther down the conversion funnel inherently suffer from more measurement noise and require exponentially larger samples to test. If you are already at the point of running A/B tests on your emails, this book is not for you.
Disclaimer: I received this book for posting an honest review. I have been working in email marketing for over 6 years now and there is always more for me to learn. This book is a great primer for all of the little nuances and gives a great background of all that goes into email marketing. I was hoping to see some more information on some higher level tactics but this was a great refresher for me on the basics.
This book was available at Kindle Unlimited so I read it because at my business we use e-mail marketing. While it had some very good points for a small-business entrepreneur (like keeping relevant contacts, and being aware of inactive subscribers), on the other hand I would say that it is better suited for bigger companies, with thousands of subscribers. You cannot use many of the tools exposed in the book (like sequential a/B testing) in smaller email lists with statistical significance.
More than a small marketer needs, and that's not a bad thing
While someone who's just getting an email marketing system going may find this book daunting, as you build and grow you'll want the info here. Great content for people building a larger scale business, and management who need to get a handle on what their marketing folks should be doing.
Very comprehensive and indepth read. Full of great info, Chad clearly knows what he's talking about. Although, the book is a little lengthy it packed a lot of valuable content you won't find elsewhere.
This is a must-read book if you are interested in email marketing. It covers all the topics to work on your email campaigns and explains every concept you need to know such as email metrics, list building, subscriber journeys, apology emails and email marketing workflows. 100% recommended.
A great book on email marketing covering aspects of email optimization and future trends as well. Every email marketer should read it at least once. I really like the units are organized depending on what we should focus on at every step.
Helpxful No Matter Where You Are in Your Email Marketing Journey
This book had a huge amount of useful and actionable information. Although some of the content seemed geared towards larger brands, I found it to be helpful for me, someone just starting to create an email marketing program for an online business I am in the process of creating.
