Chaxin awakes in a world completely unfamiliar to him. His memories are clouded, except for images of glass and metal. He quickly finds that he’s not alone in this new realm. There are others who all arrived just as he did. In this strange world, people are driven by survival against forces that have little interest in continued human existence. But through the use of special tomes known as 'grimoires,' people are able to enhance themselves to increase their abilities and 'life properties,' giving them a fighting chance against the monsters that surround them. Without a chance to acclimate himself, Chaxin is thrown into a bloody confrontation with monsters born of nightmares. He soon realizes that one false step could mean his death. But death isn’t the worst that the Graymos has to offer. Can he survive in such an unforgiving world? If not, more than just his life could be at stake. Grimoire Bound is a LitRPG-Lite novel, inspired by Dark Souls, Lovecraft and Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash.
Ok the book was alright. It is good enough to read the sequel when it comes out. Honestly the main problem for was the story was to slow. I guess you can say it was character building but I say it is to much. The main character is useless. Any powers he main gained was at the end and he did not even get to see what they are. He stay at a single digits level for over half the book and only manage to make it to the teens before the end of the book. There where only spurts of action through out the whole book.
I stopped reading the novel 3/4 of the way through.
I found the magic system limited and boring. Instead of a blue screen, you need to find a book "grimoire" to look at your stats. I found it stupid to have a level 1 MC to get dragged around by a high level group, in an emergency. In the end the only reason he was able to contribute, was because some swords and spears and a hand held crossbow were also magic guns. I just found the novel boring
Thank you! This book somehow both exceeded my expectations and twisted them. Its a dark world. And i felt like it was almost under described because my imagination took it to terrifying conclusions and implications and descriptions. This book is something best experienced rather than described. Cant wait to read book 2. Worth your time.
Dark souls with a Lovecraftian twist. It's a nice edition to the litRPG genre. It doesn't big you down with game mechanics, but the ending was just a bit too disconnected.
