Brady neutralizes dangerous threats for a protection company. Claire is the indispensable tech partner who keeps him safe…until he decides that’s the last thing he wants.
Claire Hughes is a tech genius with a resume that includes a stint at the CIA. She’s funny and beautiful, but inexperienced with men, and that is something that definitely needs to change. So, she decides to find a partner the logical way and creates an online dating profile, making sure her potential mates are suitable. They must share her interests, lifestyles and goals. Otherwise, why bother? It doesn’t compute. Setting herself up on an entire week of questionnaire-approved dates, she knows she’ll find the perfect man. But former FBI agent Brady Landry takes one look at her all dressed up for a night out, and he’s hooked. He starts think about her as more than the girl genius who keeps him and his team mates safe. She’s all woman, and he wants her as his own. Then he learns about her week-long plan to let a computer choose a man for her, and he knows he has to throw a monkey wrench in this system. Her ideas about compatibility make no sense to him. Because, he knows chemistry is what couples need, not matching ones and zeros. All he has to do is convince her. Things heat up when Claire begs Brady to rescue her from a disastrous computer-generated date. Things start to simmer when they spend more time together. Things boil over when Brady convinces Claire to take a chance on chemistry. Just when their happy-ever-after seems within reach, Claire’s life is threatened, and Brady must use all his experience with fierceness and firearms to save her. The ordeal preys on both their fears: just when they give and accept love, they’ll be left alone. Will this system go down forever, or can they hack their way back into each other’s hearts?
Bestselling author Lea Hart writes sexy, feel-good romances. She loves a sharp quip, an icy gin and tonic, and a long walk when the muse disappears. When she’s not writing, she spends time with her family and friends and attempts to stay on top of her TBR pile.
If she writes the blurb in this way, there is no way, I can go through the whole book.
The blurb needs to be short and catchy... Just check a dictionary and see for yourself. For example, Oxford dictionary defines BLURB as "A short description of a book, film, or other product written for promotional purposes."
Brady, an ex-SEAL, who just left the FBI Hostage Rescue Team to join Trident Response Group, a tactical team of ex-military alpha males, falls for Claire. She's ex-CIA, the team's smart, sassy intelligence officer and she won't be controlled, especially by an alpha hero like Brady. She is convinced that due to past relationships that slipped through her fingers just when things were getting good, that online dating is the way for her to find her perfect mate. Brady does not agree. Their chemistry is undeniable, but is Brady patient enough to wait for Claire to realize that their future together is inevitable?!?
This book is hot, steamy and a lot of fun. It is the second book in the Destiny Series that involves the Landry Brothers, but it can be read as a standalone novel. Lea does a great job of making the characters seem real and I love her sex scenes! Great HEA ending, too. No cliffhangers, but there are awesome teases about the next book in the series!
I love these brothers! First Brock and now Brady has captured my heart. Brady is an alpha military man who falls for his co-worker Claire. Claire is the techy nerd who he works with who doesn't realize what an awesome catch she is. When she starts to date random guys to find someone who might be her match, Brady knows that their chemistry is off the charts and that they are a match made in heaven. When Claire finds herself in danger, Brady finally admits that he loves her and that he won't let her go. It takes Claire a little while to come around, but she loves Brady, too and wants a future with him.
This is a shorter story, so it doesn't go into all of the ins and outs of the relationship that I usually like. I like to completely know the characters and what has made them who they are. This story did give me enough background that I knew that both Claire and Brady had suffered and know loss. It was a good read in this series and I can't wait for the next one.
Good entry in the Destiny series. Brady Landry is a former Special Forces operative, now working for a security group back home in Lafayette, Louisiana. His office mate, Claire Hughes, is the type of woman Brady dreams about - often. He approaches her cautiously after he finds out that she has registered at an online dating service and has set herself up with seven dates in seven nights.
By the time night four comes along, Brady has insinuated himself into the search and has rescued Claire from a date gone wrong. She begins to see him differently and agrees that they may "hang out", which Brady reads as "date".
Their miscommunication and mixed signals are funny, but they have the wit ti at least try to understand each other, since they have both figured out that it's important for them to "get" each other, because they are more important to each other than they originally planned. Good one.
Inevitable certain to happen; unavoidable. "war was inevitable" synonyms: unavoidable, inescapable, inexorable, ineluctable;
This second book in the Destiny series is just as good as the first. Lea Hart writes some really great Alpha heroes and sassy heroines and this series is just one example. Another plus the town the series is set in is just a half hour drive from me and I go often.
Brady Landry former FBI Hostage Rescue Team member now works for Trident Response Group.
Claire Hughes former CIA computer analyst works with Brady at Trident providing computer support to the teams.
This couple was amazing I really connected with them and enjoyed their interactions. Great flow, secondary characters and just enough suspense to keep it interesting.
This was another Lea Hart formulaic book. I'm starting to feel that I've met all of these characters before, because with a few variations in appearance, occupation, and location, the main characters are all the same. Some locale tweaks need to be made in this one. First oif all, Tippiecanoe Mall, where a pivotal scene takes place, is in Lafayette, IN, not Lafayette, LA. There's a reference to "the other mall", named Arcadia, but the actual mall in Lafayette, LA is the Acadiana Mall. If you're going to use real locations in a real town, research carefully. I'm tired of the the cutesy references such as those to "smooching" and " the pokey". In a specific character or two, it's fine, but there is such a thing as too much of anything. And please, for goodness sake, in book after book, stop with having Southerners say "you all".
Really enjoyed it! Fun, hot, HEA story. Brady, one of the sexy, alpha, Landry brothers, former FBI HRT member, sets his sights on sweet, gorgeous, Claire Hughes, former CIA tech wiz. They work together at TRG security firm. Brady enjoys his bachelor status, until now. Claire has rules, that include - no dating coworkers and not getting involved in anything too serious. Fate has other ideas, sparks fly and they go through some funny, steamy encounters. After a brush with death, they finally compromise and give it a go. Couldn't put it down, can't wait for the next book in this series. Lea Hart knows how to write a story.
When Brady joined TRG after leaving the FBI cause he couldn't return to field duty he didn't think he would meet he other half, but when he meet Claire he just knew but when he learns of her plan to date he thinks of a way to get her to go out with him instead, but what they don't know is they have more in common that they think they do. Can Brady slow down to so as not to push. Claire to fast or will he lose her cause of it. If you love alpha men who love fiercely and manage to get themselves sexy smart women then this is the book for you. 5 star read.
I have come to love the characters she creates, both the sexy alpha heros, and the smart strong women who win their hearts. I keep thinking with each story, 'this is my favorite'...and then I read another. She definitely has the ability to create characters that intrigue, but have their own individual personalities. These stories are not just the same plot with different names, and each one is great. Why this review for Inevitable? Because Brady and Claire just stole my heart...because Lea Hart wrote a story that just makes me feel better.
This is such a sweet romance with another hot Landry brother. These guys are smoking hot, sweet, sexy men falling for stong independent women. This book was so sweet I almost got a toothache. You will fall in love with Brady and Claire as they find its inevitable they were made for one another.
Brady Landry finds his One in Claire. A great follow up story as Brady and Claire finds love is not all about questioniar and compabity but honest feelings and magic. Looking forward to next book. I now need some Bordens ice cream.
I loved 💘 Inevitable, the second book in this series. It's impossible not to fall in love with the Landry brothers. Lea does a great job blending the characters from the previous books. Can't wait for the next book!!!
