This is definitely a niche book, for those interested in a very specific aspect of ancient Egyptian burial customs: the tiny wooden models and scenes found in some tombs. I’ve heard several lectures on the objects and was interested to learn more about them. I found the book very readable and informative and feel as if I have a better grasp on the subject now.

This is a very short book (just 71 pages) and includes numerous drawings and photos (all black and white). The author traces the development of models and scenes which I found helpful. The book can be easily read in one sitting. It’s not going to be for everyone, but it was exactly what I wanted.
