The daughter of the wealthiest businessman in the world, and the most beautiful woman I've ever known. Her looks don't compare to her golden heart. And her heart doesn't compare to that big brain of hers.
But I could never tell her.
Because we've been best friends for twenty years.
She has a jerk for a boyfriend, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. The rest of the gang can't stand him either. But I'm not the kind of guy to intervene. I respect her too much to pull a stunt like that.
But then I spot her at a party, too drunk to even walk. The men are eyeing her like easy prey so I take her home. But when we get there Skye is different. She looks at me differently. She touches me differently.

The drama and over dramatics was interesting for about a book and a half, then they only saving grace was slade and trinity. So I finished the books only wanting to read more because of those characters. I looked into the rest of the series at is 51 books at $4.99 a piece. NOPE!!! Also read the descriptions and the drama just seemed to go in circles for ever. I fell like I wasted a lot of time reading this.
I have to say, I'm surprised at the number of 5-star reviews (this is my opinion, I mean no offense). Maybe I'm just too old for this series. What college-age men (Harvard, no less!) sit around talking about their sister's and female cousins' "racks"? Calling those young women "whores" in a regular basis? What parents talk so glibly about their sex lives to their kids? A young man asks his dad, "how did you know mom was 'the one'?" What father answers that with "the first time I f**ked her"? These billionaire corporate moguls resort to thug tactics when crossed - beating a college kid to the point of putting him in the hospital, deserved or not, is not behavior I'd expect from someone like that.
Thankfully this 3-box set was free! I finished the set through sheer determination and A LOT of skimming. Something of a cliffhanger, but unless I find the next book free and my bookshelf otherwise empty, I'll pass.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Well, if you like reading about rich, privileged, spoiled brats, then this book is for you. But, prepare to be bored, because it just chronicles their everyday life. I bailed on the book because I was so bored with the story. The characters aren't particularly likeable, and aren't anyone most people would relate to. I kept waiting for the story to pick up and catch my interest, but it never did.
DNF I tried. I really did. In the first book I really liked the Cayson character and Jasmine. Unfortunately Jasmine got her heart broken and at least in this 3 book set never got her H.E.A. Skye was okay but a bit of a clueless princess who didn't realize Cayson loved her or that she loved Cayson and it made no sense why she continued to be with the a-hole Zach. She acted like she was all independent but in reality even the part time job she worked at was at her parent's hotdog stand. But she was a good person. The rest of this group of friends/family were pretty forgetable and some were just downright unlikable. There was so much sibling squabbling going on where they acted more like young adolescents than 21 and 22 year old college students it got ridiculous. By the second book Trinity and Slade became more sympathetic likable characters while Cayson too often acted like a jerk and Skye also had her moments of being ridiculous. When Cayson told Slade he had tit-fucked Skye and then Slade announced it at the library table so Trinity decided to announce Skye had told her that she gave Cayson a B.J. that was about it for me. And by the third book when these 2 22 year old college girls were talking about how many guys they'd been with I was thinking Holy Crap, have I gotten that far out of the loop that this its normal for a 22 year old to have had more lovers than she can count on two hands? And of course other than Cayson the guys were all manwhores. And even Cayson had more than his share of bed partners even though he'd always been in love with Skye. Finally when the whole Stanford issue came up in the 3rd book and then I read reviewer talking about cliffhangers and how there were like 50 books in this series, I gave up. Why finish this book if it's only going to leave me hanging and I sure don't feel like reading a couple of dozen more to find out how this group of priviledged kids ends up.
Kindle freebie. I was so excited to get three books for free. That should've been a red flag. I tried, I really did, to get through the first book but I couldn't. The writing was horrible. No descriptions; never made you feel like you were in the book watching these characters. I kept getting confused with the characters and who was actually related instead of family friends.
I stopped at the point when Skye was arguing with her dad so I don't know how it ended or how any of the other books end.
I love the characters but I don’t think I’ll be reading anymore. 47 books in a series? I don’t have $200 to spend to find out what happens. I would consider buying if there wasn’t cliffhangers at the end of each of the three books I’ve read. What I did like was you still have POV of other characters as she started to introduce their stories but the fact that you don’t know if a couple ends up together over the course of a couple of books if frustrating.
These books are trash, do not waste your time. They are poorly written, but that’s the least of their flaws. The relationships are completely co-dependent and based on traditional gender roles that glorify all of the evils of the patriarchy. The men are violent and controlling, and these books glorify those qualities as being important and even healthy in close relationships. The author demeans gay people by having her male characters make insulting jokes about being “gay” because they care for each other, beautifully exhibiting toxic masculinity. The women are slut shamed and appear to only care about getting married and making their husbands happy, even though they are 22. And the dialogue feels like it was written by a 14 year old boy. The author should be ashamed to have published this and should take a course in feminism.
In my opinion this book could have been written by a computer. These characters seem formulaic and infantile and would never have been admitted to Harvard unless their parents pulled a Lori Loughlin. They certainly would have never made it to their senior year with as little studying and as much partying as they did. There were too many grammatical errors and misused and overused words to count. Editor. Sound familiar? If these characters actually smirked as much as they were credited with, I would want to smack them rather than hang out with them. I can't believe I actually finished it due to a vague curiosity about what happened between Slade and Trinity. Still don't know!
Normally I don't write reviews about books because I like to reflect upon them long after I've read them. I am also not one to give up on reading a book, but this one? Oh man, I am speechless. I don't know what is more annoying, the characters themselves (Skye being the most annoying of them all), the writing or the pacing of this book. It took all my willpower to even read through the first 120 pages and afterwards I just couldn't handle it anymore. The characters are boring. They are all rich, childish, entitled and completely unlikeable. Even if they weren't supposed to be "relatable", the least the author could give them is better personalities, because reading this book is infuriating. The dialogues and conversations between characters... I really tried to take them seriously but it was too much. Sometimes I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Also, as mentioned before by other readers, the conversations about sex between kids and parents...? Questionable. I am all for being honest about one's sexuality and sexual lives, especially with your family, but this much detail? Unnecessary. Don't even get me started on the pacing. It takes FOREVER. I don't want to spoil anything for those brave souls who decide to tackle this set of books, but the constant uncertainty and battle of emotions vs. logic and friendship vs. love is so tiresome after the first 100 pages that I gave up. I honestly could not care less about whether they end up together or not, if they are not willing to JUST TALK ABOUT IT at least once. Please. Even writing this review gets me heated because I wasted so much of my time and many of my braincells while reading this book. I am not a connoisseur of books and I really enjoy cheesy romances from time to time, but this was just really not IT. The writing is also very childish, so that didn't help either. The only positive of this book was that I got it for free, but then if I had to pay for it, I think I would have been even more enraged.
1. All I Want Is You, 3 stars The book started out well, but after a few chapters the characters started sounding a bit immature somehow (the word smirking began to be used a lot – using this word is fine, but using it too many times within a few pages makes the writing seem awkward)…
It was also predictable... It had a lot of hints about how they should end up together because of how people in the family have started out the same as the main characters & now are in love...
2. If Loving You Is Wrong, 3 stars
“Chicks are always wrong. But always let them think they’re right.”
Um, okay then...
Quite immature characters, to the point of asking about positions in bed of relatives (cousin), as well as not using prophylactics even though they aren’t exclusive...
I think this story could have been better & more exciting & dramatic if the ex (Zack) had decided to do something bad as revenge, but he was stopped before he could do anything.
3. You Are All I’ll Ever Need, 3 stars
This book is about keeping secrets (of who is sleeping with who) and the consequences of this...
Again, the same characters that sometimes show they are quite superficial. One character complains that his dad should be paying him as if he were v-p of the company even though he has no experience, simply because he’s the son of the boss...
This makes it hard to relate to (or like the characters), even though I’m sure we’ve all seen people with this attitude.
Also, actually planning to be romantic near a dumpster is really, really hard to relate to, I have to say...
Good beginning but not worth $4.99 a"book" to continue.
Great beginning to a series, but with the books not being long enough to be considered something other than a novella-I can't justify paying $4.99 a "book". If these were kindle unlimited, then yes I'd consider reading on, but as they are not, I guess I stop here.
As expected from this blurb, these books follow the story of Cayson and Skye and their relationship but it also starts to include the POV of the side characters and their developing relationships. To be fair, by the end of it I was more invested in where Slade and Trinity’s relationship was going and not Skye and Cayson.
One of the main issues I had with these books was how Cayson was; I highlighted several passages in the book where he just exhibited so much anger it was worrying like below: “Now I was pissed. I marched to her o fast she almost tripped. I slammed her against the door with my body. “Take that back. Now.” Fear filled her eyes while she was pinned down.” Like WTF?! That’s basically domestic abuse; you shouldn’t be scared of your partner and he shouldn’t be bloody slamming you against the door with his body! There’s also a point later on in the third book where he gets so angry he just throws his beer bottle on the ground and storms out. Again this is just not normal behaviour and it’s so confucing when the author paints him as a caring, sensitive person – that is the opposite of all that. And the character the author pens as the bad-boy dick doesn’t do anything like this. Plus the author seemed to be obsessed with Skye's boobs and how blood big they were.
Overall I did enjoy these stories; they read well and flowed and I did feel that the stories were more realistic. There were plot twists but they weren’t massive and ridiculous and didn’t feel like the author was pushing for these scenarios which wouldn’t happen. They felt organic and well placed and I generally felt the characters dealt with them well.
I would carry on reading this series except there are forty seven, yes 47 odd books in this series and I’m just not ready to commit to that sort reading. My TBR is too long as it is haha
I enjoyed the box set. New author to me. HOWEVER, when I got to the end of book three I discovered none of the relationships were resolved and I had an offer for book four. I bought it, then went looking at the internet I saw that there were 51 books in the Forever and Ever Series. Wow. Does the story never end? I am not up for never finishing. I did buy book four but if relationships don't begin to resolve I'll have to get off the train. Never have read a series that the end of the book did not resolve the situations. Beware if offered the three book starter set for free. To some extend I feel suckered by Amazon's offer of the three book box set for free. On the other hand this was my first venture into "romance novels" and the box set was a good read. Still, having to get the next book to continue the entire story was a first for me and as you may guess I feel manipulated and I don't like it.
I got these for free thinking I was getting a trilogy. So disappointed that it is a ton of books and you don't get resolution at the end of any of them. The characters are boring. A bunch of super rich kids who seem so stunted in relationships. Parents who are beyond controlling and over bearing to the point of not being healthy. Fathers who cry all the time. All the parents are never divorced, deeply in love, having sex all the time and have no baggage that we know about except the stuff they allude to but won't talk about. The sex descriptions are weird and seem to be written by someone who has read about sexual stuff but not done it. I was so bored halfway through book two and only plugged on because I thought it was a trilogy. Not gonna bother continuing. There was not enough character development or even likeable characters to care.
I tried so hard to like this story. It had such great potential, but I could not get past the compete immaturity of the characters. I truly felt I was reading a book written by a teenager trying to imagine being a twenty-something college student. The main characters, again, college aged, were grossed out by their parents display of affection. Instead of striving to find that in their relationships, they thought their parents were ridiculous (think young children thinking their parents kissing is "icky"). The immaturity of the dialogues and actions kept putting me off the main story. I really did try to like this series, but it fell short. I couldn't even get halfway through the set.
Reviewed while looking for my scissors and glue...
What a strange book. Even now after having just finished the first 3 books in this series, I'm trying to sort it all out...
The story begins with Cayson pining over his best friend Skye. Skye has a boyfriend and has no idea that Cayson is in love with her. Cayson finally starts dating someone. Skye breaks up with her boyfriend and only then realizes that she's been in love with Cayson the whole time. Let's stop there for a second.. not a terrible story. I was rooting for Cayson in Book 1 even though Skye annoyed me a little. But by Book 2.. both of them annoyed me.
I found myself skimming over the scenes with the parents because it felt like it was dragging. I get it: All the parents are good looking. All the parents are rich and successful. All the parents still have incredible active sex lives. Okayyy... but why they felt the need to TALK about their sex lives in front of their college age kids is beyond me. TMI people!
Once Cayson and Skye got together I was ready for them to move to the back seat and let Slade and Trinity take center stage- YAY! Their story was A LOT hotter and just more fun to read... But for some reason, the author continued to base the story around C&S.... So I skimmed some more and found myself only reading the chapters that were told from Slade and Trinity's POV. It was so frustrating having to go fishing for a story in a book. At this point C&S's drama was just filler for me that could have easily taken place in the background of Slade & Trinity's story. Even Roland's drama could have been weaved into the story without giving yet another character a chapter from their POV.
When I finished all 3 books i just wanted to cut up this story and re-glue it back together: Book 1 Cayson & Skye, Book 2 Slade & Trinity, Book 3 Roland, etc. Maybe even throw in a family tree free of charge because I could not keep track of how everyone was related!
So here I am, at the end of book 3 and I have to say, as much as I love Slade & Trinity, I don't see myself buying book 4 to see how they work out. But I will say that the 3 stars I gave these books belong to them. I like these characters, I really do, I just don't like the way the author has chosen to tell their story which is a bummer because so far the story has potential.
So excited about this trilogy, especially as it was from an established author with other series under her belt. Then I started reading.... *Books are told first person, alternating between the male and female leads. Sometimes I got lost, trying to figure out who was talking. Annoying. I hate first-person narratives. *This series tells the stories of the offspring of parents/ couples in another series. It was hard to keep track of who belonged to who. I couldn’t keep track of them. Are you cousins, siblings or friends? I felt like the author assumed we were familiar with the other series, and therefore didn’t need to move slowly into building the characters. Which brings me to .. *These characters were shallow and unlikeable. I stopped rooting for them and stopped caring if they ever got a HEA. They were all 20-something, wealthy college kids who had grown up with each other. They hopped beds and changed sexual partners without blinking an eye. Which brings me to.... *Intimate sex scenes were crude and vulgar. They discussed everything with their friends, even private things between a couple. Immature and unlikeable. My brain needed a shower after the first book. *The author frequently brings the parents, who have their own books in another series, in for a guest appearance. They weren’t believable or likeable either. I mean COME ON, billionaire father who is famous and easily recognizable, flies his private helicopter to his daughter’s college campus to deliver a beat-down to a jerk former boyfriend. In front of a crowd. In the street. And nobody called the police? He ended up in the hospital. Sounds like assault and jail time to me. Totally unrealistic. There were no grownups in these books. Although to be truthful, I quit 7 chapters into the 2nd book. Maybe the characters grew up after that? I didn’t care enough to find out.
E.L. Todd did an amazing job writing these 3 books; I absolutely loved every minute reading them. The 3 books in this set are: All I Want Is You This book teaches us that love is blind and who we love may not be the person we think it is. We hide our true feels too often and many times the best things in life slip by while we watch them disappear because we are too scared to speak up. If Loving You is Wrong Here we learn that being friends is hard work but being lovers is much harder... We may never realize what true love is if we just let our feelings stay hidden inside and not express them. Family and friends can often see what we are not willing to see and no matter how many times they try to tell us the truth; we refuse to listen and/or believe it... You Are All I'll Ever Need We may fall so deeply in love but until we are willing to admit it to ourselves we can't express it to the one we love. Every relationship goes through good and bad but what we do during the bad sets our relationship either further along and closer or it ends it all. Are you willing to lose the one you love because of a bad decision or a grudge? Is the love of your life worth looking because you don't want to see that others make mistakes?
Don't miss out on an amazing read, a love story in the making. Be sure to read each book to see what happens. I can't wait to read the next one in the series to continue
i've attempted writing this review three times before yet to no avail. i tried being all professional, using a format, making sections etc, but again to no success. i've never ever had problems with writing reviews but even words can't describe the calamity that is the Forever and Ever series.
not only is EL Todd a terrible writer, shes also a scam artist. you might not even be able to comprehend what im about to tell you, but this, THIS series consists of 50+ books. 50. and no, your eyes aren't deceiving you. 50. good. books. first of all, there is literally no reason to make the series this long, considering the fact that it gets shorter and shorter as the books progress. (no literally some of them could be considered novellas). secondly, the fact that EL Todd is CHARGING for a 50+ book series alone, is beyond selfish and greedy, and lastly you're most likely never gonna read these books again. i mean, these are throwaway books. investing or paying for these is a massive waste on your end and the only people profitting are the people on EL Todd's team and EL herself. i read this book a while back and it seems there have been major changes since then. the books have been put into 7 booksets which i cant tell if are for the better or worse
if you're a decent, sane human being, you may have been appalled by what i just told you. but believe me... there is no hope. because this shit just gets worse.
This box set was definitely a experience not to be missed. Full of love and unity and life long friends and family. It was incredible. I couldn't put it down. Now after finishing it I'm craving more. The way the author leaves it makes it ridiculously impossible not to need to want more. And I need to know what happens and you will to! One of the best series I've read this year and Auther E.L. Todd has a beautiful way with words. You feel her characters emotions it's hard not to they are so real they float right off the page and directly into you. The relationships between them all is something I wish I could have its a very tight group and I loved it. Lots of hilarity and moments that you will cry for varies reasons. And you will even get angry. But it's so incredibly raw and real even though it's fiction you feel like it's happening in real time. I'm beyond impressed with this authors mad skills and I'm definitely a fan for life now. Yup totally stuck with me! Best part is its not a over done topic. So give it a chance and just try not to fall in love ....I dare you.
I'm going to refrain from giving this book (or boxed set) a rating as I didn't read enough to feel comfortable doing that. I usually give up (DNF) and rate books when I've read about a third, but I was only able to get around 5% of the way through this. Since my Kindle and GoodReads treats this boxed set as one 800 and some odd page book, there was no way I was willing to gamble with a third of the book(s) to see if my opinion would have changed. Romance of any kind is usually a difficult genre for me whether it's movies, books, television shows, etc. If there is going to be a romantic element, there also has to be something else going on - drama, an epic story, horror, something dark, fantastical elements, etc. This, however, was akin to reading a succession of Facebook posts about a group of friends and their love lives. I just didn't feel comfortable giving it more of a chance as I was bored after a few chapters in and there was no discernable plot in sight. Unless the character's day-to-day lives was meant to be the plot? Then, yeah, no. This particular type of story/romance just isn't for me or, if it is, I haven't found the right book yet!
Each story in this boxed set kept me captivated. The characters are interesting alone, as well as their interactions as a tightly mixed group of friends and relatives. Each one in the group is of college age and they are trying to find themselves and their purpose in life. Their interactions with one another, as well as with their parents, lends nicely to the development of each character.
My only complaint is that toward the end of the book, I end up saying, WHAT! If you want to find out how things turn out, you have to get the next book.I've just ordered the next 3 in the series. I'm hooked! What can I say? I hope at the end of book 6 there are definite resolutions. I don't like being strung along, but, geeze, I have to know what happens next.
I enjoyed the story line(s) as well as the author's ability to write well. So many books I've read on-line contain spelling and grammar errors that make my reading come to a skidding stop. Kudos to this author!
As much as I liked this and ordered the next 3, I definitely will not continue to order all these books (51?). I'll read the rest if they're free!
Overall, it was a good summer read. Cute, fun stories from multiple characters' perspectives. It kept me engaged and invested and wanting to know what happened next for each of the relationships (and the back stories of the parents!) However, there were at least 3 times I had to go back and reread something because what was JUST said was contradicted on the past page ("Skye hadn’t had another since her first one, and Cayson stopped after his second beer. Trinity and I, however, were fighting to the death." Then on the next page after Skye blurted out... " Cayson’s face flushed red. “All it takes is three beers and a whiskey, huh?”" ) And actually, Skye as a whole person seemed to change drastically between the first book mainly about her and Cayson, and the other books . She went from being strong willed and passionate to more of a passive, whiny princess, which was disappointing. Even with that, I'm intrigued and want to see what happens next with their stories. I am especially happy with Spades arc.
I really enjoyed this box set and would recommend it and I would like to read the rest of the series, having said that this collection at the moment is 47 books long and after this boxed set it will cost about another £150 and if like me you don't just read one author or are on a tight budget even if you buy one a month it will still take over 3 years to buy them all. I just wish (and not just this author) that when a series is this long then the authors or publishers would put more boxed sets together at reasonable prices. Would I recommend this series yes, would I want to read the rest of the series definitely and have been added to my wish list, will I, probably not as I said I have other authors I follow and other series I read and to take three years to read a series when all the books (I think) are published and your not waiting to be released is just not me but if you don't have to worry about a tight budget then I would definitely say go for it.
In the beginning of this series, I thought that this would be a classic take of young love and the trials of finally getting it right and living happily ever after. By the time I reached the second book, I was getting tired of the romance, the emotions and the gossip. I felt that these books were just continuing on without a purpose. I found the parent/child relationships a bit hard to believe, seeing that the parents were so formal with their children every time they spoke. By the time I reached the third book I was getting tired of the relationship dynamics and the petty arguments and the secrets.
This wasn’t a bad series of books, but it felt long and never ending without a purpose. I didn’t feel moved by the stories and instead i felt annoyed by the characters back and forth.
I still can’t remember how the parents all knew each other, who were friends and who were the siblings to each other.
