As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

If not for the constant and unending references to the dead ex fiancé, I would have enjoyed it! But there were so many, it ruined it for me. The murder mystery element was good though!

Voluntarily reviewed an authors copy of this book.

This Baytown Boys series just gets better and better I was so impressed by this third book. I felt this book really went above and beyond with the second chance love story. Im not a writer but feel it would be hard enough to get emotions from your readers with second chance love stories than one like this where the person has lost their high school sweetheart and in such a devastating way and with so many reminders facing her everyday in Katelyn's small town home.(I cried alot!!!)
This new Maryann Jordan romance novel had plenty of drama, twists and suspense to keep you guessing to the end.
The story centers around Katelyn the hometown girl who has lived her whole life in Baytown as well as spending years grieving over the tragic death of her teenage boyfriend. But Katelyn has finally decided she needs live again and move on and she finds that new opportunity in finding a new job helping out the new and sexy PI Gareth Harrison who has had his eye on Katelyn since he moved to Baytown but out of respect for her lost love he's kept his distance and his feelings for her hidden that is until she comes to work for him.
There love slowly blossoms and their close friends and family are so supportive its a beautiful story. It wouldn't be a Maryann Jordan novel without a mystery to solve and with Gareth and Katelyn joining together to solve the case its bound to be a good one!!!
I also have to add how much I love all the other characters in this series that support them ( So many more stories to come!!! I'm really intrigued about Belle story)
plus the great addition to the American Legion Charter and the American Legion Auxiliary which is not necessarily needed in the series but think it brings something unique to Maryann's work well done can't wait to find who the next couple will be.xxx

Clues of the heart by Maryann Jordan
Another great series to the Baytown boys.
Gareth might not be an original Baytown boy but was treated as he was one of them. Gareth was such a great character he understands that Katelyn lost her first love and doesn't pressure her to move on, he goes at her pace and doesn't want to ruin his memory. Katelyn grew up in the small town after her older brothers left to the military she wanted to go to school but decided to stay home. Now that all the Baytown boys are home except the last member of the group who was killed in action. Years later she still in the same spot but once she meets Gareth the feelings she thought were locked away are back and she doesn't know how to process that. Gareth opened a private investigator office in the town and so far business has been good. Katelyn decides on a change and takes a job there and helps in receptionist spot but hopes to have her license to help Gareth. When a new client shows up nervous Katelyn is the perfect person to put her at ease. Katelyn under Gareth in learning how the process the investigation, both team up to help the client while still learning how to move on with their relationship.

I thought this as a great story when I read a romantic suspense book it has been on edge and this book had it plus I made me feel homey vibe if that makes sense. I defiantly love those Baytown boys I can't wait to see who the net one will be to fall in love.

Clues of the Heart is the kind of sweet (with heat) romance that I expect when I pick up a Maryann Jordan book. The stories in the Baytown Boys series have an underlying mystery to be solved, and in Clues of the Heart, the mystery portion is definitely kicked up a notch!

Gareth is a new transplant to the quiet eastern shore community of Baytown. He has got his private investigation business up and running. He has had is eye on beautiful waitress, Katelyn, but can see that she has an air of sadness around her.

Katelyn has been mourning her fiancé for the last six years since he lost his life serving our country. She always thought that she lost her one chance at love when she lost Philip, but recently discovered an interest in investigating and in the new local PI.

"...I haven’t felt that in a long time.” Swallowing deeply, she said, “You’re not the only one with war scars, Brogan.” Her finger hit her chest right over her heart and she choked out, “I carry them too.”

I have loved each book that I've read by this author and Clues of the Heart is no exception. Woven into this beautiful, emotional romance is a mystery that Katelyn and Gareth need to work together to solve.

4.5 Stars. This time it’s hometown favorite, Katelyn McFarlane’s turn for love. After losing Philip in the war, sorrow followed her for years and working two jobs was her only social life. Of course, she has her friends and family, but she was lonely.
Then a new man arrives in town. Gareth, former Air Force, decides to make Baytown his new home. He is a PI, that quickly joins the other former military and the newly formed American Legions chapter. He also notices the prettiest waitress, Katelyn, but can he compete with Philip’s memories.
After a rather embarrassing incident, Gareth hires Katelyn. They soon give into their mutual attraction. They are a sensual couple, but there are too many detailed sex scenes, that detracts from the storyline.
These two take on a very intriguing case of a missing husband that turns into murder. The author threw in a major twist, that adds extra entertainment to this enthralling story. So far, this is my favorite book of the series.

This was another really good read in the Baytown Boys series. I loved watching Katelyn learn to live again. Her high school boyfriend went off to war and he never came home. She has been existing since she got the news, but has never moved on. Gareth is new in town and is drawn to Katelyn, but doesn't know if he can compete with a dead love. As they learn to work together and get close to one another, Katelyn's walls come down. When Katelyn finds herself in danger, Gareth can't lose her.

This was a good read and a good story. I would have liked to see more in the climax of the story, but Gareth and Katelyn were great characters and I love getting to revisit the couples we have already met. Another good read in the series.

The Baytown Boys series just keeps getting better and better! Clues of the Heart is Gareth and Katelyn's story and it rocked. Gareth has come to Baytown to set up private investigation firm and we see his role as an investigator in the previous books. Katelyn is the hometown girl who waitresses at the diner and helps out at her family's pub. In the previous books, we learned that Katelyn lost her Baytown boy during the war. After his death, she kept her self going but has now found herself in a rut. She is ready to make some changes, so she applies to work in Gareth's office. She realizes, through this, what she wants to do with her life; become an investigator and to finally let love back in her life. I loved the gradual build up with Kayelyn and Gareth; their emotional conversations were tear jerkers! Gareth and Kaetlyn get caught up in one of their cases and let me tell you, I didn't see the guilty party! This was another great read by Maryann Jordan and PLEASE let Brogan and Ginny be the next Baytown couple! I received an author's copy and I have given an honest review.

Clues of the Heart by Maryann Jordan has now become my newest favorite of hers.

We watch as Katelyn finds a new way of life for herself. She's been in a rut so to say for so long all she wants is to feel alive. Opportunities arise and Katelyn starts working with Gareth.

Gareth is finally getting the work he needed for his PI office. Hiring Katelyn to help him was an easy decision for him. But is she ready for him to fall for her. Is she ready to move on from her past.

I love this series because of the small town feel. You feel as if you are part of the group. Maryann holds your attention with the suspense. The twists are well plotted. I would highly recommend this book to any reader.

Clues of the Heart
Couldn't wait to return to Baytown to see what was going on. Gareth finds Katelyn up a tree and it takes off from there. For the right mixture of romance and suspense, this is a must read! I never saw it coming and would never have figured it to go that way. Love the small town atmosphere and how the characters support each other through their problems and happiness.

The Baytown Boys series has quickly become my favorite!
Gareth Harrison, a 'newcomer' to the Baytown scene, has been admiring Katelyn for the past year, but she seemed locked into the past. Katelyn MacFarlane has long grieved the loss of her childhood boyfriend. But it's time to live again. The excitement of taking on a new job opens a whole new world for her. This is an awesome love story! Like the sea glass, "It's the rough seas of life that allow us to shine."
I love this close-knit community and the support they give each other to make their community a better place. This is an intriguing mystery - one that leaves me gasping in surprise at the outcome! Highly recommended! I voluntarily reviewed an author's copy of this book.

I love the Baytown Boys Series. Gareth is new to Baytown. He has started a private investigation business. He has wanted Katelyn since coming to Baytown. Katelyn remembers the first time that she saw Gareth. He is the first man that she had noticed since losing her high school sweetheart, Philip. Gareth has waited a year getting his business started and settled into Baytown before even trying to get Katelyn to notice him. This romance is sweet and slow but hot.

Letting go

Clues of the Heart is the third book in the Baytown series. This is the book of Private Investigator Gareth and waitress Katelyn. Katelyn lost her her first love years ago to war. Feeling like she is stuck in a rut of never moving on from this loss she takes a job with Gareth. This book is not your I'm sad and never getting over my old love....its about moving on and letting go...of letting new love in. Katelyn and Gareth find love along the way while solving the murder of a new clients husband....with a twist you never saw coming. You love this newest book in the Baytown series. Maryann Jordan never fails to keep you guessing til the end. Happy reading!

Great romance with an added twist of a murder mystery. Maryann Jordan dangles clues about all the possible murder suspects in front of the reader in such a way you want to keep reading to find out what happens and what the next clue is. The anticipation is delightful. The love story between Gareth and Katelyn is gentle, blissful, sensual and heartwarming. When Katelyn finally realizes that she's ready to move on and not live for her dead fiancé's memory but with it, that's a life altering moment. Gareth's respect for her memories and the space he gives her to handle them was poignant and so telling of the love he had for her.

The depictions of small town life are so fun to read. The community involvement in such things as the American Legion youth sports leagues and the annual Pirate Days are truly slices of Americana. They evoked happy memories. This book was just pure reading pleasure from cover to cover!

Pluses and Minuses

I listen to and read a fair number of books with a current or former military man as the hero, but this one differs from most. Not necessarily in a bad way. While all the heroes in this Baytown Boys series are former military, the books don’t have much of a military vibe. This hero has returned to civilian life as a private investigator. He's getting his new business off the ground and needs an assistant to help the business grow. The heroine becomes that assistant, but she is interested in becoming a PI herself. While this book certainly is a romance, it actually felt more like a traditional whodunit than a solid romance. In fact, at times, the book felt like an oddly uncomfortable mix of “let’s figure out what's going on” and “let's get it on.” We didn't see enough relationship development outside of the hero and heroine's working relationship and their intimate scenes for it to feel like a true romance in my book. The intimate scenes also made me feel a bit uncomfortable because they seemed to come out of nowhere (as if grafted on the whodunit aspect), got hot and heavy too quickly out of proportion to what had been happening between the characters—almost seeming just to put a checkmark in the sensual box nearly required in contemporary romance. I like to see intimate scenes that stem from the growth of the relationship, and that truly reflect where the characters are at the particular times in this story where the scenes take place.

One thing that won't make sense until you read or listen to the book is how the author made it come full circle in a fun way. The hero and heroine have a scene at the very start of the book where he catches her doing some unpaid, unlicensed PI work up in a tree! The climactic harrowing scene at the end takes place, in part, in a tree as well. I love it when a book can tie the beginning and end of a book together so simply and meaningfully.

At times, I felt frustrated by the heroine, as she wasn't always smart and too often proceeded on her own, even though doing so put her at risk more than once. At times, she contradicted herself—saying or doing one thing early in the book and saying or doing something opposite later—which I never like to see.

I did find the mystery element interesting, and I love the family dynamics of the heroine’s family. She and her mom are the only girls in the family! Her brothers are super protective, as you may imagine, but I was charmed by how deeply they cared for their sister—whom they have seen suffer so much after the death of her former fiance—and how they were willing to give the hero a chance, especially seeing how he treated her. While I felt like the book wasn't as well put together as it could have been, by the time I got to the end and saw how they acted when she was imperiled, I was rooting for all to turn out well for the couple. I just wish the author had made it a little easier for the reader/listener!

I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.

‘Military duty called them away to war zones, but after tours overseas, the group of friends found their way back home as men, seeking the peaceful little seaside town. Now, the band of brothers, together once more, work to provide a place for less fortunate veterans to call home.’

Clues of the Heart is the third instalment in the Baytown Boys series by Maryann Jordan. Having seen these books pop up on social media and reading my GR friend’s reviews of the series I started collecting the books quite some time ago, but has taken me till now to finally plunge in.
Maryann Jordan’s Baytown Boys series is a 17-book romantic suspense saga that masterfully weaves together themes of camaraderie, love, healing, and personal redemption. Set in the fictional coastal town of Baytown, an idyllic seaside town, this series follows a close-knit group of former military friends who return home from service overseas and strive to create a supportive environment for themselves and less fortunate veterans. Ms. Jordan’s storytelling fuses small-town charm with emotional depth, making the setting a vivid and integral component of her storyline/s.
Each book centers around a different MC, exploring their unique struggles and romantic journeys. The veterans’ experiences and wartime scars are written with sensitivity and authenticity, adding an extra element of emotional resonance to the relationships and characters personal growth.
Ms. Jordan cleverly balances romance with mystery and suspense. From murder investigations to drug rings, each plot includes high-stakes elements that kept me engaged, all while the romantic tension sizzled. But, beyond the romance/s, intrigue, and action - the stories also show the healing power of friendship, love, and a supportive community - which created a warm and reassuring backdrop for the more intense elements.
This series is ideal for readers of contemporary romantic suspense with a military element and small-town setting.
Happy Reading…

So much happier with this one! Finally this series picked up and had a great male and female lead.

So Clues of the Heart focuses on Gareth, a PI battling demons from his military days and the small-town Katelyn, a girl who was a widow before she was even a bride. Together, they make the perfect couple but it takes them a long time to get there.

When Gareth first moved to Baytown, he immediately had his eyes on Katelyn. However, small towns are great for gossip and he learned quickly she was still mourning her high school sweetheart. After he died in the Middle East, Katelyn's hopes and dreams ended, leaving her heartbroken and unable to move on. Knowing this, Gareth backed off.

However, what he didn't realize was that Katelyn was ready to move on, to love again, and to start living life. So when he needs a secretary, Katelyn jumps at the chance for two reasons: to start a new life and to find out if there is more to Gareth than meets the eye.

Okay, I liked this one so much more than the others! I think the dynamic between Gareth and Katelyn was really well done. You could feel his reservations about starting a relationship with a heartbroken woman and you could feel her pain at forgetting Phillip's memory. It's hard to fight a ghost and I thought this was handled in a classy way.

Additionally, the drama blew me away. I so had it wrong. I thought it was so that climax totally caught me off guard. Love it when her writing keeps me guessing!

Can't wait for more of the series. I really like Brogan and want him and Ginny to get it together!

I don't know how Maryann Jordan does it but we have here another extremely wonderful addition to the Baytown Boys series. This story has all the feels, it is pretty suspenseful and the pace is quite fast. There is never a dull moment that I can find in this latest story.

Here we have born and bred Baytown girl Katelyn who felt that her life is just floating away, trying to find her niche and at the same time still holding on to the memories of her first love that died in service. Gareth is a recent transplant to Baytown, he is the PI that is searching to plant his roots and at the same time yearning for Katelyn whom he felt is off limits.

I find the interaction between them both is organic, funny and oozed with sexual tension. I absolutely love that Gareth backs and encouraged Katelyn when she wanted to dip her toes into the PI world. It is heartwarming to see them both opening up to the possibility of a relationship and I truly understand when at first Katelyn felt that she was betraying the memory of her first love. Gareth is such a wonderful H, he is understanding and patient. The man is also very sexy to boot.

I cannot highly recommend this series enough to everyone who enjoys reading romance with guaranteed HEA. Infact, grab each one of Maryann Jordan's books. You will not be disappointed.

If I had to nitpick about Clues of the Heart, I would say I am not loving the book cover. Other than that, I truly enjoyed this book very much.

+++ grateful to receive an author's copy but my thoughts about this book are of my own +++

I laughed, cried, and reminisced about lost love while reading Maryann Jordan's latest in the Baytown Boys series. This is the third novel in the series. Katelyn lost the love of her young life to war. While she grieved, she became "stuck" in her life. She worked as a waitress at the diner and helped out in the family pub in the evenings as it was "safe".

Gareth moved to Baytown in search of a place to call home. After serving two deployments, he landed at Dover where he assisted in forensic autopsies of fallen soldiers. After he finished his service, he headed out to start his own PI business. While driving, he happens upon Baytown--where he lays eyes on Katelyn. When he learns of Phillip, he doesn't feel as though he can compete with a memory so he doesn't pursue Katelyn....yet.

When Gareth finds Katelyn up a tree, he "blackmails" her into meeting him at his office for a chat. While there, he offers Katelyn a job. In an effort to move on with her life, she accepts. While working on a case, Gareth and Katelyn begin a friendship that turns into so much more. But Katelyn's scared to have her heart broken again....

I truly enjoyed Clues Of The Heart. It has "feels", friendship, laughter, history, and mystery all in one story! Although it's hard to imagine the struggle and loss Katelyn has experienced, it unfortunately hits home with so many of our military families. It takes courage to open your heart to the possibility of pain and heartache, but the reward is AMAZING! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

We are back in Baytown where the boys have left town to serve their country and once they are back , they continue their dedication to the town and their country b. It’s also where former military men come for a visit and stay finding new beginnings and unexpected love. Gareth Harrison is one of the later.
Gareth , a PI, moved to town a few months ago and from day one was enchanted by Katelyn MacFarland, a waitress in her brother’s pub. But he knows she loved and lost a local boy years ago and is not sure she’s over that loss.
Katelyn is ready for a change and after a “spying “ gone wrong, proposes to Gareth her services to manage his office and learn the trade.
When a new client asks for help in finding her husband, secrets are revealed about the man . As the danger in solving the disappearance increases, so do the feelings between these two.
Will they be able to solve the web of the disappearance? While doing so, will they realize they are meant for be together.
As much as this reader enjoyed the who done it, it was the relationship between these two characters that stole the show.
It was a story about new beginnings, and taking chances in life and love.
The narrator Kale Williams brought the story to life.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook by Booksprout. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Wow better every time!! Five explosions🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆

Omg what a great book!!! Every time I read another book from Maryann I just fall in love with that little town!! I have soooo many questions about it lol, does your little town know what kind of books you write?! How do they react to them?? Do you know the people in town well?? Are you like a big celebrity there?! Lol do you belong to the American legion in your little town?! I so wanna go to this town!! Lol I just feel like I'm there when I'm reading!! Oooo and do you have to go over a bridge like in the book to get to it?! Do you have pirates day also?!! Lmao my curiosity gets bigger and bigger every time I read a baytown book!! If you want to know why I'm asking these questions you'll have to read and find out!! Its so worth the read!! This book was freaking awesome!! Started out with a dead body right from the beginning! There was tender moments ,some hot stuff going on and plenty of action to keep it going! I definitely recommend this book and series! I was gifted an arc for my review but bought the book also for my collection cos it was that good!! Thank you Maryann Jordan for another amazing read!!! Can't wait for Brogan!!!

I loved this book #3 in this series. This book is Katelyn MacFarlane, who's childhood sweetheart did not return from the war, and Gareth Harrison, the PI that has located in Baytown having come home from the same war and nothing to go home to in his hometown. Gareth noticed the dark haired beauty the first time he entered the local pub owned by Kately and her two brothers. But he also noticed the pain in her beautiful eyes and upon learning the cause of that pain decided to leave her be since she was in mourning for her lost love.

This book is filled with love, loss, pain, murder, greed and mystery. As Katelyn realizes life is passing her by and she wants more than being a waitress which she has been for 16 years and now realizes she not only wants a change in her employment but also needs to move on from her dead fiance' and let this gorgeous man into her life.

I admit this book required quite a few tissues as Katelyn moves forward from the death of Philip and the fact that she feels like she is forgetting him. Grief causes so many feelings that we need to work through and it takes years to handle.
The mystery is finally solved much to my surprise when the culprit is brought to light.

This was Gareth and Katelyn's story. Katelyn is still mourning the loss of her high school sweetheart, Phillip. He was a Baytown boy who promised to come back from war and marry her. He broke his promise and she is still mourning the loss.

Gareth noticed her the first time he entered her family's pub over a year ago but he didn't make a play for her because he had heard her story and thought her unattainable. Now a year later he overs her a job and the story goes from there.

Their story has them solving a mystery that has many twists and turns. I didn't see that ending coming. I love reading about this fictional town. Ms. Jordan writes with such description that I can picture it in my mind. It's the kind of town I would have loved to have find while driving along the coast. Her characters are life like, they suffer real emotions, loss, love, etc. I am learning more about the American Legion and what they do as well.

Katelyn is a true survivor as is Gareth in his own way and they are perfect for each other. These characters are like friends. I can't wait to read the next story of the Baytown Boys and Girls!

Another great add to the series. Katelyn is the funny brave one in previous books, but that's all on the outside. Inside she is trying to deal with grief to move on. Realizing that her life needed to continue forward and not be stuck in the past, or more so just frozen in time all together. Gareth is still new in town, but fitting right in like he's always lived there. I loved Kat and Gareth working together hunting for clues on cases. While she's learning, it feels like I am too. Getting to know more about the PI side of things we didn't get to see before in previous books. This book also has more about Brogan brother scenes with Kat, I really hope the next book is Brogan and Ginny! I really need to see Ginny invited to a girls night! I ran across one quote in this book that I think sums up Baytown series perfectly; “For some of us, we grow up and realize that small-town isn’t just a description of where we live. It’s a description of who we are." Can't wait for the next!!!!! I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

I absolutely adored this latest book in the Baytown Boys series. This is the story of Katelyn. She lost her fiancé in the war. She is devastated and has resigned to the fact that her chance at happiness is forever gone. Fate however has other plans in store for Katelyn. Gareth is a PI who has harbored a secret crush on Katelyn. He assumes that he wouldn't have a chance so he keeps his feelings to himself...until a chance meeting with her in a tree. I am a sucker for second chance romance and this book delivered that and then some. Gareth was so patient with Katelyn...they were perfect for each other. It was a phenomenal story full of suspense, action, twists and turns, and of course hot steamy moments.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this book and the whole series. I highly recommend this series and book to everyone...its a great series and I can't wait to see what comes out next. Another 5 star read from the very talented Maryann Jordan.

Gareth and Katelyn

This one is fantastic! Just a warning…you will need tissues! We all need an ugly grin now and then though. Gareth, Baytown’s PI, I a a new resident (he’s been there a year but in a small town you new if you weren’t born there lol). The first time he entered the towns pub, Finn’s, his breath was taken away by the Irish beauty Katelyn. She had been in love with her childhood friend and planned on marrying him when he returned from war. But he never returned and she has grieved for him everyday since. When she sees Gareth there is a spark. He finally asks her to work for him and he will help her learn the business. There first case together is a real doozy and danger is all around. We have a missing person, a murder or two, suspects galore (a real whodonit), the Baytown boys and girls, friends, friends, steamy scenes and love. This was a pleasure to read.

Katelyn MacFarlane and Gareth Harrison.
This is a good story.
Katelyn is seen as the town's sweetheart who lost her future when her fiance died in the war. Gareth is a PI who has moved to town, noticed Katelyn but feels intimidated by her past and hasn't made his move as he feels she hasn't got over her past.
It's a sensitive subject that is handled really well. Katelyn feels ready to move on esp as Gareth stirs feelings in her that no-one else has since her fiance.
She makes an excellent point that they were so young they may not have even made it in the adult world, so her future is a bit of a dream, an illusion that may never have come about.
They also work on a case together and Katelyn is able to offer excellent help.
Gareth is sweet, caring and protective.
We learn a bit about others in the circle, particularly Katelyn's brothers.

This was my first Maryann Jordan's book, and won't be my last. Clue of the Heart is the first book in the Baytown Boys Series, a Romantic Suspense. This is a series of interconnected romances. Katelyn and Gareth's story is beautifully written, entertaining, and heartwarming. They are both great characters. Gareth, the town's private investigator, is handsome, supportive, and protective. Katelyn is beautiful, smart, and strong. They are perfect together. The storyline is interesting, and captivating. I liked the mystery, the suspense, and the twists and turns. This is a great start to this series. Kale Williams did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Finding Peace, the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In the years since her first love passed away while in the military Katelyn’s life has been stagnant. It is time for her to make some changes and it starts with a receptionist job with Gareth, a private detective, and it leads not only to a new career but a new love as well.

Gareth has had feelings for Katelyn since he moved to town and opened up his business, but he also knows her past. Working with her is going to be a temptation but when he realizes she feels the same way he is determined to explore what they could have together both personally and professionally.

The suspense part of the story is filled with secrets and surprises while the romance part is touching as Katelyn prepares to move forward with her life. The performance of the narrator managed to portray the intrigue, heart and heat of the story.

When new to town PI Gareth Harrison catches Katelyn MacFarlane in a tree spying on someone, he convinces her to come to his office the next day or he’ll get her loudmouth bullying brothers involved. He’s liked he since he got to town but she’s still in mourning. But last night changed things and maybe now that she seems to be moving on maybe she’d move on with him. It’s finally time, Katelyn’s ready to end her six years of mourning for her KIA boyfriend.

When Katelyn arrives, Mitch talks about duties his soon to be hired associate would perform, Katelyn asks for the job and Gareth’s happy he’ll see her daily then realizes she’ll be his employee so maybe they can’t date. Everyone’s happy to see Katelyn finally moving on and she’s ecstatic helping Gareth on a missing person’s case with plenty of twists and turns
