There is almost always a villain in every book. That character that we want to hate because their actions are so deplorable. Nothing can redeem the hurt they have caused. At the very least, this is what we feel about Juliana after reading Hammered. She lied, she lost herself in drugs, she gave her son over to the man she married. She behaves like an entitled beetch most of the time.

Garrett Falcon does not have many more redeeming qualities than Juliana. Drug addicted, walked away from his family, deserted his one true love, lost himself for 6 years. I was not prepared for the impossibility that these two together would be anything close to a HEA. In fact, I wasn't looking forward to hearing their story at all.

That's where this author excels, though. MJ brings us broken, unlovable characters and strips away all the layers to show us the fragile human beneath. When all is revealed--my goodness--heartbreaking but also healing in that both Juliana and Garrett always recognized the good in each other. Through everything that has happened, they remember the pure love found between two lost teens. Time has passed but together they can be stronger. Love will make them stronger.

Thank God for Mags and the goodness she instilled in those Falcon boys. Their mother is still on my sh*t list. Just as soon never see her again. But Mags reminds all of them what it means to be a family. Love and forgiveness are top on the list.

Lots of heavy material in this one. Some violence. Super steamy s3x. And best of all, some great humor. Honestly, if MJ does not jump ahead in time and give Brand his own book, readers may revolt! That kiddo is AWESOME! He needs his own "little lady" for sure! Seeing all the Steel gang together again is like one big family reunion. LOVED all of it!

On to Grayson's story. He intrigues me. Can't wait to see how his heart gets healed.

Destroyed is book two of the Steel County Series and I have to say, I'm starting to really love these Falcon men.

I loved Garrett and Julianna from the beginning. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a person from a fucked up place. Both of them are definitely have issues that they have to overcome. There are some gut wrenching moments that you're going to read. Both Garrett and Julianna have things they need to face and get through in order to make anything work.

Their one bright moment is always Brand. He's witty, a little bit sassy and definitely funny. He's a super cute kid, that is the unknowing glue keeping them together (in my opinion).

You'll see a lot of secondary characters in this book too, I have a love/hate relationship with Phoenix and want more of her. Oh and I LOVE Kat, hehehe.

This book will definitely take you low, but don't worry, you won't stay there forever.

Wow, another rollercoaster read from MJ Fields.

I love how MJ Fields intermingles all her books but yet you can still read them as standalones.

Destroyed focuses on Garrett and Juliana who were also in the previous book. Garret is the brother featured who had issues with drink and drugs and left 6 years ago.

Not wanting to add spoilers if you haven’t read the previous book either. Destroyed gives you a completely different view of both characters apposed to the ones shown in Hammered and tells Juliana and Garrett's story.

Juliana and Garrett both abused in the past, both fight their own demons, both made mistakes, both were each others saviors and first loves and forevers until Garrett leaves Juliana alone and pregnant.

6 Years later Garrett is forced to go back home by Gage his brother and he has to face Juliana again.

There's a lot of hurt between Garrett and his brother to overcome and healing to take place but the boys are determined to become a family again, the whole plan of Gage getting himself, Garret and Grayson back together is to be brothers again, Family.

Destroyed is a second chance romance were secrets are revealed, twists and turns develop, there's humorous moment and a cute little boy called Brandon. MJ Fields hits every emotion with Destroyed.

I loved the flow from the other book to Destroyed although Hammered featured Phoenix and Gage as main characters, what took place in their story had a major part also in this book and you get to see things from Garett and Juliana's side this time.

Recommended series, The men of Steel are also featured in parts.

Love MJ Fields, her style of writing, the characters, the plots, it's addictive, looking forward to Graysons story and I can see swoon worthy coming.

My Emotions are totally Destroyed.

Garrett Falcon has been running for a long time. Running from nightmares, running to keep his secret, running from his family, and running from her.

Juliana Falcon lived a life of pure hell, until him. he was her hero, he saved her. But when he said things that hurt her she had to think quickly about the future of her baby. She made a decision that led to lies and deceit.

When the truth comes out all hell breaks loose. But the key to all of this is the love they all have for one little person...Brand.
Can the lies and deceit be forgiving?

Jesus reading this book took me a while not because it was slow or boring but because I connected immediately with Juliana. Coming from a back ground not much different then hers my emotions became too much and I had put my Kindle down because the tears were coming and blurring my vision. The emotions are so raw. It never ceases to amaze me how Ms.Fields makes you feel every emotion her characters feel. Please read this book...I beg you too!

Dnf...

I very rarely DNF books.... But about 20% in, I just had to call it quits...
So the brothers are all vile to each other and calling each other nasty names, Julianna is called a whore by pretty much everyone, because that's the right thing to do when you have an abusive past... Then Garrett reappears in her life (supposedly because they're soulmates??!!), tells her she is a c***, and then pretty much forces her into giving him a b******, just so he can bargain with his brother to have her stay there for her son... He says "you've sucked for less".
I'm sorry,no...just no... I stopped reading right there... That's disgusting and I draw the limit at reading stuff like that.
Good luck to whomever decides to finish that book...

This book was so much for me. I went in Hating both thr Hero and Heroian (Read Hammered). I told Mj she wouldnt change my mind about them that it just wouldnt happen. Well yall it did. By the end of this book my heart broke for Garret amd Juliana. The way Mj tells a back story and builds her charaters is amazing. Im so happy this nook ended the way it did. It was beautiful and everything I needed at that moment. Sometimes the people that should love you most dont and the people you love hurt you the most. You cant let that make or break you! This book was amazing!

After reading the first book in this series, Hammered, I wasn’t sure if this was going to be something I was going to enjoy. Hammered was very heavy on the erotica and fairly light on the storyline and I had expected much the same from this book. I am very ecstatic to say that I was wrong. Yes, this book did have some pretty intense sex scenes, but they were always secondary to the Garrett and Juliana.
After reading Hammered, I wasn’t sure that Juliana could be redeemed. I was actually pretty sure I would never like her no matter what happened with her. She had done and said things that were seemingly unforgivable. If took some time, a lot of time – most of the book, really for her to win me over piece by piece. Her past, her fears, combined with some bad choices by all parties made her choices much easier to understand. She was more damaged than I could have imagined and I loved getting to witness her heal and become a person who was deserving of all the things she was sure she never would.
Garrett had his own truckload of horrific things in his past, some of his own doing and some thrust upon him by the most types of people. The dynamic between him and his brothers, particularly Gage, made this story for me. Their relationship started as the kind of thing nightmares are made of and slowly morphed into a beautiful demonstration of love and kindness. The way that Gage took cared for his brothers, Juliana, and Brandon showed just how magnificent a person he was in spite of the things life had dealt him.
While there were some things I wish would have been more fully resolved, I know there is another book, Grayson’s, coming and I’m hoping to find answers in it.

Completely Shocked!

I am in awe of MJ Fields writing. A good author takes you on a journey. A great author makes you feel for the characters. An amazing author can have you hating someone in book one and rooting for them in book two.

I don't know how MJ Fields could write so well that I was crying for Juliana. I loathed her in Hammered. When I found out Destroyed was about her and Garrett I thought, "wait, what?! How can she be the heroine. She is a beast for what she did to Gage". I don't know why I'm surprised that MJ's writing made me fall for Juliana and Garrett. I love all of her books, starting with the Steel men and this is no different.

The crap that Garrett and Juliana were dealt is awful. They were so young, scarred, and pessimistic. This time around they fight for Brand. They fight for a better life then they had. Destroyed is an amazing book and I cannot wait for Wasted. One Click this bad boy and then go back and one click everything else MJ Fields has written. You will not be disappointed.

MJ Fields, thank you for sharing your talent. You weave a story together so well. I'm in awe of your talent and so happy you share it with us

MJ has managed to turn a character that I couldn't stand from her previous book, Hammered: Steel Country #1, into someone that I'm rooting for .. unbelievable!

She was able to flip my opinion by opening my eyes to the circumstances and issues that got both Garrett & Juliana to where they were in life. For me this is both a reality check and a humbly experience. It's a a reminder that we should NOT judge one another . You never know why someone has done something until you walk in their shoes, face what they've had to face and endure what they've had to endure. I should never assume that just because I've been blessed with a good life that others have had the same opportunities. This world can be cruel and hateful and these characters have been on the receiving end of it in the worst of ways.

As a parent, I find myself asking:
How far would you be willing to go to ensure your child gets what he/she needs?

Just as important is the realization that your past does NOT define you! It may shape you, but it should NEVER define you!

Mags continues to be embedded in my heart with her sage advice.

description

This story shows an evolution of friends to enemies and back again. Miscommunications or simply lack of communication takes a toll on the Falcon family unit as a whole. Abuse, heartache and tears were unavoidable as I immersed myself in the tangled webs of deceit throughout this book.

Garrett's actions are what some may describe as unacceptable; he's been wronged - in too many ways to count. Perhaps his path took a wrong turn, but regardless of the route he's traveled, it has led him to Falcon's Landing and back to his brothers. His passion is so strong and steadfast. He knows what he wants and he's not afraid to go after it.

Juliana has experienced hurt and heartache with every turn she takes. Yet, she's a fighter and she's not afraid to do what she has to do in order to make things right for her child.

Little Brand stole my heart. He's a go-getter. Kids are resilient but the manner that he takes everything in stride is simply amazing. The confusion and hurt are there, and while he may lack the ability to truly understand it all, what he does give is acceptance. It's heartfelt and heartwarming to what the transformation in his life.

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom, become completely #Destroyed, in order to find what you've been looking for your whole life!

In the end the kids may 'Steel' the show, but the passion, hurt and healing is what will forever stay in my mind! And of course, Garrett's dirty talking too!

wow what a story. When you first meet Juliana it was in Hammered and to say the girl was a bitch would put it mildly. But MJ is so brilliant that I actually fell in love with Juliana. If I learned anything from this story it's that sometimes you have to peel many layers to get to the truth. Juliana had a tough and horrible upbringing and when she met Garrett he was her angel. He saved her. Yes they were both young but he would move heaven and earth to protect her. The things her mother and step father made her do were horrendous. For a mother to sit back and watch and allow the things that happened to Juliana to go on the woman should have been executed. No one should have to live like that. Her mother was a monster. Karma did get even with her though.

Garrett had to deal with his own demons. Being abused when he was younger and then the nightmares had him turn to a dark side of life. But through that dark side he met Juliana. Two different people from 2 different walks of life now are together. Although Garrett left Juliana when she told him about the baby he never stopped loving her. And even though he broke her heart and the decisions she made because of his abandonment she never stopped loving him. Theirs was a bond and love that could not be broken even if they didn't realize it until years later. Hearing about how Juliana had to live and the choices she felt she had to make made you see her in a new light. MJ made you feel for Juliana in a way that you didn't pity her but understood her for what she did. The supporting characters helped to make you see the good in these two characters. Mags was amazing and Brandon is a son you yourself would want.

If I learned anything else with this story is that never judge a book by its cover. There is always a reason why we are the way we are. If we only took the time to peel those layers away and not judge by the face value. Destroyed is a true gem of a story and there aren't enough stars to give this story.

I haven't read Hammered but I still managed to understand the gist of the story and the dynamics of the characters.
Juliana is not a woman that endears herself to us as the reader to be honest at the start I can't think of one redeemable feature, we know she's lied and manipulated to get what she wants, she's taking drugs and gave her son away to her ex husband. Like I said not one likeable thing about her but I couldn't help liking her. Garrett is not really not much better, he's been lost for 6 years he deserted the woman he loves abandoned his family and is living a life full of women and drugs but that's all about to chnage when his brother drags him home.
As I was reading I couldn't imagine how the author was going to make me change my mind about these two, how would I go from hating their selfish actions to accepting and even wanting them to succeed. I guess my turnaround is due to the authors skill with her words, she conveys the emotions they are all feeling perfectly, the hurt and the pain the feelings of betrayal they practically bleed from the pages.
This is not an easy book to read the subject matter is at times painful but when you get past it all we have a book full of second chances and redemption for past mistakes. Another brilliant book MJ.

Destroyed. When something is destroyed, it gives the impression it's past being able to be fixed. Not repairable. Garrett seems destroyed. Juliana is hiding that she on the verge of being destroyed. What they had has long been destroyed. Until...everyone is thrown together for an epic confrontation.

Destroyed may not be as bad as it seemed, it might be worse. Or maybe it is, in fact, just broken. Whichever way it goes, they will both cling to what they know.

So I jumped on the bandwagon a bit late...I didn't read book one. It didn't take much for me to get the logistics of the situation though, after that the story was easy to follow.

I liked the gritty feel of the story. I liked the rough way about it. Is it hard subject matter? Can be. Does it come off Suzy Homemaker Happy With The World? Hell no, but then most people's lives aren't like that either. I definitely liked it. I may not have been a big fan of their past choices but I like the shape of the story and I can't wait for Brand's book. That kid has some moves. Seriously, planting the seed...Ms. Fields! Lol

The story has laughs, secrets, naughty fun, suspense, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Falcon's Landing (Steel Country 0.5)
Hammered (Steel Country #1)

This is Julianna and Garrett’s story. Julianna and Garrett have a history that is long and has many twists and turns. These two have a lot of story to tell. There needs to be forgiveness to heal and learn to love again. Can that happen with the past these two have? This book will take you through the past so you get to understand what choices were made and why. Were they the right ones at the time some believe so but others don’t. This couple has a long road ahead of them to figure out if there is a future between them.

I loved these characters and the side characters. This series is a spinoff of the Men of Steel series so you get to see some old favorites. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. M. J. Fields grabs you and drags you into her stories where she deals with real life issues and pain. She teaches about forgiveness and love. You will not be disappointed with her stories so if you are a first time reader be sure to dive right in and get ready for a emotion filled love story with plenty of steam to keep you warm at night.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Sometimes I just wanna call up MJ and ask her to stop making me cry like dammit woman. The feels always all over the place one min you love her. The next min you want to kill her for writing this.

AAhh This family is killing me. Gage it still makes me upset what he's been through. Garrett you wanted to hate him for what he did. When you got your own demons to deal with its hard to move forward. Juliana man I hated her. Her story I couldn't fathom ever. Still lies and secrets will eat at your soul. Brand that boy is so freaking loved so cute and been through a lot for a kid. There family bond is slowly coming together. Oh for The Steels to be there is just perfect #ForeverSteel

I wanna cowboy. Ok before I spoil you should just read. Grab tissues grab a drink, get ready for the next Falcon brother to Destroy you

This book is MJ Fields best book to date. 5 stars is not nearly enough for this book.

MJ Fields has been a favorite author of mine for a long time. I started out reading her Steel series and instantly fell in love with her writing. She had just the right amount of drama mixed in with some hot as hell men, making you want to tear your pants off for the latest book boyfriend.

Well let me tell you, she out did herself with Garrett Falcon. He is a beautifully broken man. We met him in the previous book in this series Hammered, and I despised him. He was such a piece off garbage, and don't get me started on Juliana. What a psycho. But regardless of what I thought of these two lost souls, they deserved to have their story told. It was a sad and lonely story, but did it change my mind on Garrett and Juliana, they both had to deal with so much, I cried for the kids that had been through some very tough situations, and it broke me into two knowing that they could find love again.
I also cried happy tears to see that both of these characters were able to redeem themselves.

I look forward to the next book but I am nervous for Gray's story. He is also a broken man who deserves so much more, and only time will tell if he gets to have the joy of loving someone.

Let me start off by first saying the Dedication in the beginning of this book was heartfelt and wonderful.

We met Garrett and Juliana in Hammered. I personally didn't like either of them in that book. As usual MJ Fields has made me love them even though I disliked them in the previous book. This book touches on some serious trigger subjects.

“I toss back a few Vicodin, put on my shades, lean back and let those fucking pills take me to a place where I’m numb. A place where I give no fucks about my brother who can do no wrong. A place where I don't see disappointment in my mother’s and father’s eyes. A place where there are no secrets. A place where there is no pain. A place where the damned have a reprieve, the broken feel whole, and no one puts hands on anyone who doesn't want it. Numb”

This particular passage struck a cord with me. I think at times we all look for something to numb us. Some for just a little while and others for years.

Garrett and Juliana have each lived in their own hell. Doing what they think is best for their son. Brandon. When everything comes to a head can they all put the ugliness behind them and become a family and learn to respect and love each other and their faults.

This is the perfect title for this book because I was completely destroyed. My emotions were everywhere and Garrett & Juliana's story will definitely pull at your heartstrings. I'm not gonna lie I couldn't stand Juliana in Hammered but holy shit, did my opinion change because I felt so bad for both Garrett & Juliana and was rooting for them from the start. Once you start reading I swear you will not want to put this book down, well any of MJ's books. Two broken souls come together and I couldn't picture there ending any better. I love seeing the Steel family and the kids are just so adorable. I can't wait to read Grayson's story next.

This book delves into some deep issues, to me it's a broken puzzle that needs its pieces to be put back together, and that's what we see Garrett and Julianna do and I loved seeing them put the pieces back together, I also loved that Garrett was protective, “I’m here. I can promise you that mothereffer isn’t going to show his face.” Garrett’s eyes bore into mine." I adored this book, and am so excited for Grayson's book next.

Destroyed is the second book of a series. I did not read the first one, but highly recommend it, as it was very difficult to connect with and enjoy certain supporting characters. It's a story of redemption, family, and forgiveness.

Juliana was fantastic heroine. She has made mistakes, really bad decisions. But it was what she felt she had to do. It was for the right reasons. Juliana kept me hooked, and I rooted for her the entire time. I felt everything for her, sorrow, joy, happiness. My heart was breaking for her, it seemed like everyone thought they were at a party and Juliana was the piñata. She did what she had to do and fought back when she finally could.

Garrett and the rest of the supporting cast was a lot harder to warm up to. I did warm up to Garrett, but still felt a little wary around him at times.

Overall, Destroyed was an interesting read. It touches on some sensitive subjects, and has raw, brash characters. The storyline felt a bit slow at points, but Juliana's strength and resilience kept me hooked.

Wow. I really didn't think I would love Garrett and Juliana but I was wrong. This book is the perfect match of every emotion and feeling you could have. I was hooked from the start. Garrett is one stubborn strong loving romantic. Juliana is one strong unsure of her self woman. They make for one spitfire of a couple. Brand is one smart little man. Love the look at the steel families. The Falcon family is one tight loving strong family. Can't wait for more.

Destroyed by M.J. Fields is the second installment in the Steel Country Series.
You must not have read book one, Hammered; but I recommend to read it first.
Destroyed can easily be read as a stand alone, there are only a few cross-over.
This is Garrett and Juliana´s book. Both have baggage. They struggle with addiction, their demons and scars, visible and invisible.
Garrett Falcon slept, snorted and drank his way through more than 6 years of his life.
Juliana has put herself together somehow, but she also has a long way to go. She lost custody of her son. And her past actions are not very honorable.
And now Garrett and in the aftermath Juliana too are forced to change their path. For the sake of their son and for their own.
This book is a tough read. Sometimes it was hard to read about the struggle and pain of the characters. They had me in tears.
In Hammered I didn´t like Juliana, not one bit. And in Destroyed I had my difficulties with her too. I pitied her, but I thought her weak. And then I thought some more and I came to the conclusion that I´m a bit hypocritical. What´s about Garrett? He didn´t do something different than Juliana, but I judged him not so hard, not like her.
These two are broken souls who are on their way to better themselfes and find their more than deserved HEA.
Destroyed is a book that stayed with me , long after I finished reading it. I loved the words, I loved the writing and I loved the characters. Destroyed is excellent written and I recommend this book. I can´t wait´ll Wasted, Grayson´s story releases.
I give 5 Stars and thank you MJ Fields.

When writing a review for Ms. Fields, I never have enough to say or where to start with my review. This book caused such a rollercoaster of emotions that had me going up and down throughout this book from the beginning. At first, I wasn't in love with either Garrett or Juliana but as the book went on, I grew to love them with each page that I read. Both characters had dark, painful pasts that they let rule their lives but over time faced to come out on the other side as better people. As book two of this series, I enjoyed the return of the characters from book one since the events in this book at first take place at the same time as some of the events in book one. I liked how the characters from the Forever Steele characters also had a role in this book as well since I fell in love with them in their series and I can see other books from the future there. I liked the sense of family that was an important theme throughout this book as well. I was hooked on this book from page one as I am with all of Ms. Fields's books and never have enough words for when I finish her books other than this one, like the rest is a must read. I also can't wait to see where the Falcon family goes next.

As soon as this ARC hit my Kindle I dove right in. I was waiting on it. I had to know what Garrett's story was. I saw hints of him in Hammered but who was he really? Wow, did MJ Fields give us his story!

I don't really know what I was expecting but I got more than I could have ever anticipated with this book. Garrett and Juliana's story from the very beginning. We not only see theirs but we also realize there are two sides to every story and Hammered was only a taste of it.

You think you hated Juliana? Just wait! You'll hate her but oh honey redemption is right around the corner. Many tears will be shed over this story. And Garrett is one of the most sa-woooonworthy book boyfriends you will come in contact with. His love is strong.

Remember little Brand how we all fell for his sweetness? Haha haha oh that little devil just gets better! He is all Falcon! I can't wait til he grows up! That boy is gonna be a handful!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this book. It's sexy, it's emotional....it's all Fields. Perfection.

These Falcon men are working their way into my heart. I loved Gage but Garret, geez I adore him. Traumatic events from his childhood pushed him towards drugs and loneliness. Until he meets a beautiful girl and focuses all his energy on helping her. Lies and misunderstandings push them apart and Garrett runs from everything he loves. Only to be dragged back home by his brother to face his mistakes.

Juliana grew up in a world of drugs and sex. Raised by a mother who drugged her from one trashy home to another. Until one day her savior showed up and for once all was right in her world. Honestly I didn't like Juliana in the first book, like at all. But now that I know who she is and why she did what she did I really admire her. Like most of us Mothers we will do ANYTHING for our children and with that I totally respect her.

This is one of those books that pulls at your heart, you fall in love with these characters, you cry for them and you route for them. I'm loving this series and can't wait for Grayson's book. These stories are wonderful and the writing, the writing is everything!

5 BRAND-IFICENT stars!!

Sometimes you just hate some characters till you feel like barfing because they make you so mad. Sometimes you think "these a**holes need to be punched". Sometimes you want to throw your kindle because you can't believe the shizznei they caused. But then, then comes MJ fields and once again she changes your views on people. I didn't think I could love Garrett and Juliana. I didn't think my heart could feel such emotions towards these two. But this book. This book was everything. That "never judge a book by its cover" saying.... so true. Two people who have been crushed, gone thru hell and back... completely DESTROYED you get to thinking how true this all is. We sometimes make mistakes because of what we've been thru. We live with those regrets, but when they have the opportunity to make things right. They take that opportunity, they fight for what they love, for what they feel. For family. You fight. Forever. Another AMAZING BOOK. A MUST READ!!
