This book was a fine read — my kids, who love Peppa Pig, really enjoyed it, even if it didn’t win me over completely. The story is simple and straightforward, which makes it easy for young readers to follow. It hits the basics of sharing and being kind, and my kids seemed to appreciate the message. That said, it didn’t stand out to me as particularly memorable. The writing and illustrations felt a bit plain compared with other children’s books we’ve read, and it lacked the extra sparkle that makes some stories feel magical. Overall, I think it’s a decent choice for little ones who are learning about sharing and friendship. My kids liked it, which matters most — even if it’s not one that I’ll come back to over and over.
⭐⭐⭐
I feel like the Peppa Pig books are very awkward to read with all of the “snorts” and “squeaks.” I know that those onomatopoeia words are part of the characters personality traits, but it annoying to read. This story followed the television episode well, but it didn’t really talk that much about sharing. I think it was more about compromising than anything else. Maybe I’m just not a fan of the characters in general. If your child loves Peppa, they’d probably still like the book.
This book is about two little boys on the playground who don’t want to share their toys one day. Their big sisters want them to learn to share so they teach them to share.
