Alexander Preston just moved in to dorm room 418 and discovers someone else living there; the undeniably attractive ghost of Christian Holmes. A mystery, a murder, and a lost love; these events conspire to bring Alex and Christian to the revelation that even across the realm of life and death, love can still exist.
I'm obsessed with writing MM romance, especially paranormal. I'm inclined to write of werewolves, vampires, warlocks, ghosts, demons, and all sorts of monsters with passion. ...and sad. Christian would have wanted him to find someone to love and connect with. It makes you wish for an extra ending when he is old and at the end of his life. One where he sees Christian again.
This was a sweet romantic tale of love across the great divide, one might say. Just the sort of ghost story I love and am forever on the hunt for. However, the writing tends to be screaming of inexperience, and the plot a little thin and predictable. Overlooking the aforementioned "flaws", the story did hold my attention, and I never felt the inevitable eye roll, and never thought: "ok that's it. I've had enough". All in all, a sweet story with a satisfying conclusion, and good, sensible closure. Not too many editing boo-boos, although there was a time or two where I was bothered by inconsistency in the events taking place.
Complete standalone story. Heat level around 2 flames. (Not quite fade to black, but not crudely explicit either). (Infrequent steamy scenes...about 1.5) Very limited, but justified profanity.
Alexander is now an author and this is his tale about him finding his one true love in his new dorm room. One night Alexander was asleep when he heard someone calling his name which woke him up, he then got up and turned his computer off then got back in his bed but then he heard his name called again he thought that someone was playing a joke on him so he grabbed his pillow and blanket and was about to leave his room when he heard someone say come back but Alexander said not a chance then left. The next night he was woken out of a sleep hearing his name again but this time he see’s a ghost and the ghost tells him not to be afraid and he tells Alexander that his name is Christian Holmes and he lived in that room in 1952 he also died in that room and he’s been there ever since. Christian tells Alexander that he doesn’t remember how he died but he knows that he has business to finish before he can move on and he needs Alexander’s help. This is a fantastic murder mystery m/m story with love but also some sadness I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Ghost in Love by Ella Primrose is a murder mystery type of erotic MM novel. What I liked is I really had no idea what would happen next. There are a ton of original and well done ideas in this book. The ending for me was a tad morose but other than that I really liked this one. Alexander keeps hearing noises in his dorm. He is a college student, he studies hard and is an okay student. But someone is playing tricks on him and calling his name in his dorm at night when he is asleep. Christian was also a college student. In 1952 that is. He was murdered in the very dorm that Alexander now lives in. Trapped there he needs Alexander to help solve his murder so he can finally move on to the after-life. This is a bitter sweet murder mystery. I really liked the premise and the connection with the characters. The ending was not my cuppa tea but over all this has great writing, and really original ideas well worth picking up and checking out. Four Twinkling Stars
First time reading from the author. Loved the story! At the beginning of the story it gave me chills, goose bumps, and tears at the end of the story. The mystery kept me wanting to know more. I thought it was well written. Loved the two main characters, they had chemistry with really light erotica feel to it. I hope to read more from the author. Thank you for letting me read your story.
This paranormal mystery is a change of direction for this author from her usual erotica.
Alexander Preston has just moved in to room 418 and discovers the ghost of Christian Holmes living there. Christian is trapped there and Alex needs to find out why so he can set him free. So did Christian commit suicide or was he murdered?
This short story makes for an enjoyable evening's read and isn't overpowered by too much sex.
Alex moves into a haunted dorm room. Christian Holmes was murdered in that room and has been a ghost since 1952. Alex helps Christian figure out how he died. Alex Helps Christian get the people who murdered him. Alex helps bring Billy back to the dorms so that he can say good bye to Christian. What will Alex do after Christian confronts his killers?

Alexander woke from a dream, but couldn’t recall anything about the dream, other than someone whispered his name. He got up and turned off his computer, then went back to bed, only to hear the whisper again. He got up, grabbed a blanket and pillow and head for the door as the whisper called “Come back”. In the common room, he drifted back to sleep.
He headed out at a run to get to class for the 4-hour test, just making it on time under the scrutiny of his professor. Then he ran to the video store to return the movie he had watched with friends. And finally he ran to his 8-hour shift at the hospital, where his boss was keeping an eye on him since he had been late the previous year. He was tired from the 3 a.m. wake-up by the voice, with co-workers commenting that he looked like a zombie.
That night, Alexander was again awakened at 3 a.m., but this time he saw a gray, shimmering guy sitting on the chair across from his bed. He rubbed his eyes and the chair was empty! He heard the voice again, jumped out of bed, and a guy was standing there! The ghost told him not to be afraid and introduced himself as Christian Holmes, telling him that he had lived in that room in 1952 and died there. Christian tells Alexander he can’t remember how he died but needs Alexander’s help to find the answers before he can move on to the afterlife.
This is an intriguing mystery story that pulls on the reader’s emotions. It’s an experience you will not want to miss as the two of them join forces to find peace for Christian, as it leaves Alexander with a bittersweet memory that influences him for the rest of his life.
It was a really bitter sweet, paranormal love story. The connection between Christian and Alex was not only believable, but also absolutely sweet. I loved the idea of two lonely guys connecting even though they couldn't be more different! The chemistry is great and I enjoyed seeing them fighting together for the justice. It was heartwarming. It was also a nice way to show how much world and people has changed during 50 years (technology, tolerance etc.)
It was also heartbreaking to see Alex alone and miserable even after years from Christian's disappearance :( Even though this story couldn't end differently I tried to believe that maybe ghost has some more tricks and Christian would stay for good.
It is a lovely, fast paced, well written story.

This story, though it had a good telling and was engaging, made me so sad. It was a great story, it had everything it needed to make it good, I just didn’t expect the ending, for some reason. It isn’t that is ended badly, no, not at all, just different than I’d expected. I see the author’s reasoning for it, it was just emotional for me. Alexander and Christian, along with Billy and the others, filled the pages with wonderment, both in good ways and some slightly not so good. The journey we take with our heroes is one of despair, mystery, love, justice and finally of release. Very interesting, for sure, and a good read.

This one hurt my heart. It was a really well written story but that ending! I know you warned that it wasn’t exactly happy in the prologue but... I guess I wasn’t expecting that ending. Really that’s the part that’s hung with me so much is just that I feel really unfulfilled after reading how well Alex loved Christian I just was hoping for something more.
There’s a mystery here, some romance but it’s a hollow resolution. I guess I wanted the love story more than the solution to Christian’s murder mystery. 3 stars because I can’t fault the writing but maybe make sure it’s not selling the romance because this is not a happy ending. I was let down and sobbing at the missing moment the epilogue should have been.
The is an intriguing and bitter sweet story of love and hate. Christian has been stuck in the dorm room he lived in while he went to Amford for the last 50 years. After Alexander moved into the same room, Christian was finally able to talk to someone. He needed to move on, but he didn't know how to. He didn't even remember how he died, which is why he needed Alexander's help. Alex and Christian fell in love while they were figuring out how to help Christian move on. Christian was shocked and hurt when he found out what happened on his last day alive. It's a sad story that has some very moving moments. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
I loved the cover and the blurb so I was really disappointed with the content. I was surprised when I looked it up to find that the author had actually published books prior to this. The writing and plotting frankly felt like something a high school student might have done. There were simple errors like stating in one paragraph that the ghost was on the loveseat then having him be on the chair a few sentences later. The book was also set in 1990's but had a few anachronisms. The biggest reason that I didn't finish it though was that the writing was just so clunky. Luckily I read it on KU, so I was able just to turn it back in without having a regretted purchase.
This story was both heartbreaking and sweet. I really enjoyed alexander and Christians story and the love they shared. The story was very unique and well written. Of course I wanted the ending to end differently but it would have been to unrealistic and ended in the best way it could. My heart broke for christian and what happend to him and everything that was taken from him. But all of it led to the greatest love he would ever know, Alexander. Alexander will never find with anyone else what he had with Christian. I really enjoyed this page turning story about a human and ghost finding love.
A relationship with a ghost is only going to go so far. Ella Primrose has taken them as far as she could. In this fun but sad book Christian has been murdered years ago and when Alexander moves into the dorm room that had been Christian’s he starts hearing and then seeing things. They end up having to solve the murder together as Christian doesn’t remember who killed him. Although set around the murder this is ultimately a story about how love can transcend time and space. A terrific read.

4.5 stars This was the first time I’ve read a book written by Ella Primrose and I can honestly say that this won’t be the last! I loved Ghost In Love so much I couldn’t put it down. It was short and sweet I loved the mystery around the story as well I loved Alexander and Christian and I loved their story! Can’t wait to read more

Christian is stuck because he does not know how he died 50 years ago. Alex is the first one who occupied the room to see him. As Alex assists Christian in sorting through the mystery many people are liberated. In the obvious way Christian is, but Alex and others are changed by the love these two found . Sweet, touching story.

This is a heart breaking short story. It's only right to help a ghost remember how they died to free them from this plane. But what if you started to ha e feelings for the ghost? Could to still help them, even though you knew your time together would be cut short? Alex will help Christian, even though it will hurt.
You will hurt for Alex, he's stuck between a rock and heart ache. You will be hopefully for Christian, who has finally found a way to move on. Pick this up and find out how these two help each other and fall for each other.
