Put simply, this is a book designed to help you create (or maintain) a resilient workplace team that can survive turbulence and change.

Its contents are based around neuroscience tools and theory that is said to help empower you and your team, enabling one to better handle challenges and obstacles that may be faced such as increased competition, restructuring, sales pressures and the uncertainty of change. The author claims that the solution can be simple but effective, letting challenges be met head-on, dodging them and charging forward. Simplicity is a moot point, or changeable feat, since we humans can be somewhat resistant to change… so a certain degree of mental lubrication may be necessary to jolt the change action, even if we know the medicine tastes horrible or that it could be good for us.

Does this work? Difficult to say. You have face the situation to know for sure, yet the core messages being espoused do appear credible and not laced with mumbo-jumbo. It does not hurt to consider the messaging, in any case, and see if you can get along with it. The author backs up her advice with a range of case studies and real-world examples. I have certainly seen a lot of hype-driven similar books in the past and this does not share company with those.

The author gets to the point and articulates well her views and prescribed medicine. I found the writing style a little turgid or blocked at times, creating a feeling of congestion that started to suffocate the otherwise interesting content, requiring a shift in focus. A minor point, when you consider the whole picture, but something you may react adversely too since it takes away your focus from the actual ‘meat’.

In any case, it was a worthy read and deserving of your consideration with it potentially being a useful ally to have on your side.

The book starts out with neuroscience which is required to understand your peers. It takes some time to familiarize yourself with the terminology if you are not a neuroscience-adept -- and you should learn the abbreviations because they are used excessively in the book.
At the end of Power Your Tribe, you get a lot of case studies, which show that the methods described in the book work if appropriately applied. I think this is valuable, it shows us, readers, that the long research and coaching works well if used correctly.
However, somewhere the book takes a drift off into spirituality (energy recovery), or at least I feel like a detour from neuroscience into some modern mumbo-jumbo. Fortunately, it returns to the original path to scientific research and results.

The book refers to a lot of available resources at the book's homepage. Unfortunately, as a pre-release reviewer, I had no option to take a look at those resources. Therefore they didn't influence my opinion. Although I think, they come valuable if you plan to follow the book and implement some strategies to increase the power of you and your peers.

This book is a 3.5 in my eyes on a 5-star scale. It took me some time to round the value, but I think it's not a 4. You need a lot of practice and coaching to implement the right tactics. You cannot just buy and read the book and change your company/peers. In the appendix, you get a clear statement that you should consult the SmartTribes Institute for help (and buy a coaching package).

Honestly, this book is more of a 4.75 out of 5. The only reason I’m docking anything is due to some of the complexities of some of the tools used, things discussed, and the lack of explanations.

What I enjoyed about this book the most is the use of scenarios which were then broken down into what the issue was, what was implemented, and their new success story. What followed was an even more in-depth look into how to put things into practice and how a company benefits from each on the broader scale, then to the department, then to the individual.

I often found myself contacting my fellow facilitators with quotes, key points, and bringing this book up in every conversation I could. Yes, a lot of the information discussed is just that relevant, important, and necessary to a company’s growth.

This is a must-read for anyone who wants to own a business, leads at a company, or wants to build a more positive culture at the company they work for.

"To transform resistance, we use the power of consent. That isn't saying something is OK. It is simply acknowledging reality." Alot about releasing resistance and establishing safety, belonging and matter in for emotional agility good stuff. Lots of good stuff in this one for teams and individuals to apply

Mostly sales and new age stuff you have heard before with a bit of meditation thrown in.
As in:
See everything, no matter how awful, as an opportunity
Get the yes from others by trying to use words and phrases that remind them of good things. (There are many tips on how to guess personality types.)
A lot of visualize the world you want kind of stuff.
Condition yourself to stop and plan instead of react.

If you want more persuasion tips try Win Bigly by Scott Adams though his Trump veneration may be a bit much some.
