I practically jumped through the pages of this book because it was so good! I truly enjoyed this imaginative, magical journey brought to life by this talented author C.E. Johnson. I completely enjoyed the other books in this series, and I was equally impressed with the writing style, vivid imaginative scenery, characters and storyline that I found within the pages of The Ammolite Adventures Greenstone. I loved Emily and of course Xena just as much as always, and enjoyed getting to know the other characters (even Samil the villain) very much as well.

Acacia is very much a place I loved going to as an escape! It’s magical, full of unexpected things and has enough fantasy to feed my reading cravings! Action packed, great characters, and a storyline that just swept me away with the pages as they turned! Super fun! I really enjoyed this read, and I highly recommend it!

This is the third Ammolite Adventures book I have read and has been a captivating and exciting 'journey' for me. Emily and her friends face their toughest challenge in this enchanting and unpredictable fantasy saga. Her characters are deep and yet relatable. I read the Kindle Unlimited version of this book.

I recommend also reading the other two books: Bluestone and Redstone.

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

People from another world are travelling through various portals, attempting to conquer Earth with magic. A 14 year old girl with magical powers is one of those tasked with stopping them.

Not as exciting as it could be.

As in the earlier books in the series, the plot is well worked out and compelling. There's a sense of positive inevitability as events start building up to the great climax.

On the down side, there were a number of places where I felt important links with other aspects of the story were omitted: like Emily's apparent unconcern about contacting her foster parents when she first arrives back home—and then the absence of a direct description of their eventual meeting; plus the lack of any comment about her and Dr D giving Dysis the slip in the hospital when they meet again; the sudden skipping forward from the presidential function where Hadrian was to be honoured; and a few other similar instances. It felt as if the author was so focused on the main story that he couldn’t be bothered with painting in these small gaps in the overall picture. But the gaps showed.

Another minor imperfection was the ease with which Emily's friends accept their new situation. It would have been more believable if at least one of them had had more of a struggle with that.

On a more positive note, the ageing of Emily's Acacean friends was well depicted; and while some might find it a little 'convenient', I felt their replacement by her Earth friends was well handled and fitting.

Overall a gripping story and a great read.

Another Awesome Installment

This series does a great job of continuing to intrigue at every turn. I want to know what's going to happen to the characters and now I have to wait for the next one to come out!

The conflict in this series stays consistent and I'm happy with the outcome this book provides (trying not to give any spoilers), but I'm interested to see how the story will continue in the next novel!

There are so many loose ends to close up and how will these character's story actually end?
