2000AD's premier high society gay occult buster is back in business with two epic tales, both written by long time character scribe John Smith and featuring art duties from Steve Yeowell and Colin Macneil. Devlin Waugh is firmly in the astro horror/body horror genre and although I think both stories run a bit longer than what they maybe should, the tales were well told, even looking past Smith's penchant for overbearing psycho babble at times. Art is fantastic as always from the two Brit stalwarts, and fans of the genre will definitely walk away having enjoyed both very different pursuits. That said, the material didn't really connect all that much with me though hence the 3 star rating.

Devlin Waugh must be the most annoying character in 2000AD roster but the horror bits are good.

Amazing art, great story arcs, Waugh offers a curious mixture of occult-focused and at times almost satirical look at 2000AD's Mega-Cities world.

Wonderful second jaunt through the world of Judge Dredd, with the gay, irreverent, violent, cultured and eloquent supernatural operative for the vatican.

A reminder of why 2000 ad is such an amazing magazine.

Some pretty powerful storylines in the 1st story, although it may have slightly petered out towards the end. The second is a straight-up vampire/horror story. This is the 2nd 2000AD story I've read recently, and am impressed once again.
