Born in Houston, Texas into the temporary care of a bevy of nuns before being delivered to his adopted parents, Scott discovered creative writing at a very young age when asked to write a newspaper from another planet. This exercise awakened a seemingly endless drive, and now, many short stories, poems, plays, and novels (both finished and unfinished) later, his urban fantasy trilogy has been published.

This sequel to Dance of the Butterfly really picks up speed in the battle against evil. Lilja and Skot are still protecting the book from the Infernal while Lilja starts questioning her purpose and relationship with Skot. There is also a new madman with innocent children paying the price of his madness. As the death toll rises, a epic battle looms. I don't want to say anything else as I may spoil the twists in this great story. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys the supernatural genre.

This is the sequel to Dance of the butterfly and the author takes it up a few notches .  Lilja and Skothiam are back and are still fighting demons . The forces they are fighting against are ramping up the evil and want to take over the world . Will they survive and will they come out of it together .
The author takes his characters and puts them through the ringer . He writes complex characters that have you feeling their feeling right along with them .  The characters are kick ass and they love hard . I kind of want to Lilja when I grow up . She is strong but yet vulnerable when it comes to Skothiam .
Mr Carruba writes with such a passion , and weaves such a rich story full of intrigue . mystery and some romance . You will be sucked in from the very first page  and before you know it you are done .
I will say that you should read the first book before you hit this one . You will know more about the characters if you do . So if you want a sweeping saga and aren't afraid to sit down and read a big book that will make time stand still check out this series . I loved both books soo much .

I found Sword of the Butterfly to be an excellent book, and while there were a few small errors here or there, I was not disappointed by Scott Carruba’s writing ability. His ability to describe scenes is still, as far as I’m concerned, unmatched. Likewise, I continue to be impressed by his ability to portray all of his characters so uniquely, even minor characters. I would definitely recommend others to pick up Dance of the Butterfly, and I think that Sword is a worthy sequel even though I believe it would have benefited from a bit more length. I'm really amazed on how strong Lilja is, she is so strong to be able to fight the demons on her own, she could even kill the demon and help Scott, I liked her strength a lot and how her student care about her but yet killing the children was still occuring, though I hope it stops after what happened at the end of the book. And figuring out who is Yelena was surprising for me and for what Yelena did at the last possible moment. Thanks Scott for writing this amazing book.
