He has to rule a Shifter Kingdom he doesn’t want. She has to break all the rules to protect her unborn baby. After one passionate night, will Fate bring them back together?

Korrin just wanted to drink whiskey and get away from his family. He didn’t want the prestige of being the Romani Traveler King’s son, to say nothing of the responsibility. But where there is power, there are people willing to go anything to keep (or steal) it. And soon he wouldn’t have any choice in the matter…

Kris couldn’t believe she had a one night stand with the tall, dark and handsome guy with those gorgeous golden eyes. They couldn’t have really been golden, right? No matter that now, all that mattered was the tiny life she was now carrying, and how that would turn her world upside down.

She had no idea how right she was.

This full length bear shifter paranormal romance novel has all the action, steam and true love that only a Fated Mates story can deliver!

Not for me

This book made me want to throw my kindle against a wall. Mind you, I only read the first story (Kris and Korrin).

Korrin is a man child throwing the biggest pity party I've ever seen (read). How is he alpha? But I thought to myself...I said self give the man child a chance. Perhaps these are his trials to push him towards greatness. No. He just got worse.

Kris I had hopes for. She showed some promise. Kris was smart, she had gumption. She hit the man with a rock and knocked him out. I liked her, until her confrontation with "D"... and keeping sh!t to herself which could've saved a life I mean the man just told you some pretty important sh!t and your only concern was "why doesnt korrin want me?".

Ultimately it wasnt for me.

Where to start?!

This book is poorly written. The editing, or lack of it, is sloppy and is often hard to read. The storyline is repetitive and all over the place. The characters are one dimensional (I have no idea what the three main characters, Kris, Korrin or Ruslo look like).

What I was able to ascertain despite the horrific writing...

King Gitan and his eldest son Kaven, successor to the throne, are assassinated by an unknown rival during a celebration of Kaven leaving Korrin, the youngest son to rule. Unfortunately, Korrin has no desire to rule, as we are reminded in every other sentence. Korrin is too busy being selfish, drinking his whiskey and remembering his one-night stand while doing his best to get away from his father and brother because he wants no part of the celebration...

Kris Wentworth...

Kris is a college student abroad who does something she's never done before and has a one-night stand with a stranger. The one-night stand with said stranger produces a pregnancy. Kris doesn't know what's she going to do about school or how she will ever face her parents. Before she can come up with a plan, someone tries to kill her when she takes a shortcut through an alley--at night--on the way back to her apartment. Eventually, Korrin somehow finds her and comes to the rescue and whisks her away to his nomadic clan for safety.

The rest of this jumbled story consistently contradicts itself with Korrin and Kris's roles, no surprises and an anticlimactic ending.

Any reason to read this book?

Absolutely none. Sadly, it's the beginning of a series and if this first book is any indication there is no need to continue. DO NOT PROCEED.

On my Were Scale of Hotness, 1 star.

I really enjoyed the world that this story is set in, the descriptions are vibrant and it's a curious mix of old and new.

The characters are well developed but their words and actions made me despair that they were ever going to do the smart thing. Korrin spent a lot of time lamenting the current situation and wishing things were different, there was very little that he did that was constructive, I wanted to feed him some common sense. Kris was doing really well in the first part of the book, she was on-track to kick arse, until she decided wondering if Korrin liked her was more important than passing on life saving information. I know it created action in the book, I prefer my action without the side serving of stupid and pointless.

There was chemistry, plot, twists and turns, and a HEA, so if that's what you're after, this story delivers, but I wasn't really a fan.

The narration is well done, the character voices are good and the delivery is smooth and natural.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

not for me. it all happened too fast, too sudden. I didn't get to wonder and gwt excited about it... it was sadly to say boring and Kris and Korrin took their relationship very fast forward .. Korrin suddenly decided to be king... even though he didn't want to.. it was just quick, boring..nobody of the characters appealed to me..they were just whiny babies the whole lot. :/

Great plot, but there were too many issues that editing should have caught. The woman has a major cut on her leg that needs stitching but it is never mentioned again or hinders her running and such.

Legacy Shifter Royal Dynasty Book 1
by Becca Fanning
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOW! What a FANTASTIC well written creative read! This story is so exciting and entertaining. It's FAN-TAS-TIC with moments that I really enjoyed reading of course not only wasn't I disappointed but I absolutely enjoyed this story. I enjoyed this story, a most delightful read by a truly gifted author. This story is about Korrin and Kris. He was not meant to rule the Shifter Kingdom his brother was after their father. He doesn’t want to rule but his brother and his father both was assassinated. Kris had one passionate night and then she had to break all the rules to protect her unborn baby. The interaction between the characters is fabulous as they spring to life with the plot, passion and vivid scene descriptions. The chemistry between Kris and Korrin is convincing and their romance is steamy. If you treasure shifter romance with a touch of suspense this is an excellent book for you to read. This book is a awesome page turner, a great and exciting read that will have you on the edge of your seat. The book is full of suspense. But the best part about the book is that as Becca Fanning guides you through all their encounters with the enemy she does so with humility, wit and intelligence. This book leaves you anxious for more stories. Bravo. In general I'm enjoying these stories. Though predictable in plot the characters and landscape come alive. Becca Fanning gives you a sense of people and personality. Her attitudes reflect the people and the world in which she created of the time. What is working for me is how she can mingle the stories I enjoy reading. I liken these stories to be some of the best of the best when it comes to paranormal romance. Without reservations I highly recommend this book. In the world of shifter romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating.

A totally unexpected outcome when you think about the beginning. However, everything about this story was a bit unexpected against other paranormal bear shifter stories I've already read. Here we now have a nomadic clan system where these groups are always moving like the gypsies of old, and they are descended from the Romani. Korrin and his family have been targeted for death, but so are everyone associated to them big or small. Who is it? Whoever it is, doesn't care that Korrin doesn't want anything to do with the responsibility of the Kingdom. He does care about Kris' safety. A human that also has become a target because of a on night stand she had with Korrin.

I voluntarily read this first book in the series because I'm a fan of Becca Fanning and this is the first series type set of books she has produced that I'm reading. I enjoyed the book but only rating it as a 4 Star because I found myself skipping ahead because of redundancy in certain areas. However, still a good read and one I'd recommend to friends. There is a cliffhanger since this is part of a series, as well as violence and some sexual content. Not recommended for under 18 (though content is not explicit it is still more than I would recommend for the YA group).

Legacy is a unique blend of stories - there's the shifter angle, some royal/political intrigue, action, and some gypsy lore. I just had a hard time vibing with it. We don't get a whole lot of background on the characters and it sort of feels like we're thrown in middle of the story and I never felt like I could catch up to what was going on. I was able to figure out who the big baddie was fairly early on (it's a gift) which I didn't mind so much, but it did make it sort of anticlimactic when it's finally revealed. I think that the story would benefit from an additional 100-150 pages just to flesh out the characters and draw out the plot a bit. The bones were good and it has such potential, I just don't know that it was fully met. Because it is the first in a series, I might be willing to read the next book to see if it improves my opinion as a whole, but as it is I'm not chomping at the bit to continue on. 2 out of 5 wine glasses.

The setting was unique and made for interesting situations, but the writing is not clear enough, the characters were not developed full and it was a little hard to follow.

This story is a little darker as the other stories from this writer.
It is the first part of a trilogy, but this first part you could read as a standalone. But only when you are not interested in what is going to happen next with Korrin and Kris.

Meeting him on a night out is changing Kris her life in a dramatic way. She finds out she is pregnant from a man she even doesn't know the name of. And just after she found out men are trying to kill her. On his side of of the story there is even more drama. He doesn't want to be a king, but on the night they celebrate his older brother is becoming king he and their father are killed and Korrin is next in line for the throne and to get killed.
He rescues Kris from getting killed and after a wrong start they go on the road to keeping staying alive together.

The twist about the murdered surprised me, but close to it I had my suspicions.

Hopefully the next part will be a happier one.

Very good paranormal (bear shifter) romance. This is very different from what I've read in the past written by Ms. Fanning. The story and characters are built slowly and that is due to this being book #1 in a trilogy. Korrin is the second son and has always felt apart from his father, the King of their clan, and his older brother. He does not like to follow the rules set forth to him so he rebels. Kris was out with her friends and ended in a one night stand with Korrin. There are twists and turns as well as deceit and despair. Through it all is Kris fighting for what she and Korrin believe in. This is a very unique take on the shifter world. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading the rest of this trilogy, even though I rarely read this type of book until the set is released. He aware this story gives the readers a Happily For Now ending instead of a cliffhanger.

I've been a fan of Becca's bears for quite some time and this series just solidifies that! I was blown away by the depth and intricacies in this whole series. In this first book, Kris and Korrin have a one night stand and Korrin leaves a little, er... Gift behind. Then all hell breaks loose in Korrin's kingdom and the two are thrown back together for Kris' safety. The no-nonsense Kris finds herself right in the middle of so much political craziness and she has no choice but to adapt to the circumstances. Through all the turmoil, this pair is slowly finding out that they just might be meant for each other. If you aren't a fan of continuing stories and cliffhangers, you can still enjoy this tale. While not all the secrets and problems of the kingdom are resolved, the couple does get a HFN ending.

This is a intriguing, entertaining book and I really enjoyed reading it. This book is about: a bear shifter (Korrin) who really does not want to rule the shifter kingdom. He meets a human female (Kris) on a night out and they have a one-night stand, later on Kris discovers that she is pregnant and now the trials and tribulations begins. What you will find in this book is: bear shifters, a human female, assassins, drama, political intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, secrets, murder, danger, deceit, treachery, betrayal, abduction, defiance, violence, conflict, lust, passion, and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters are well developed with individual personalities and react to various situations with emotional feelings of rage, fear, regret and love. I would recommend this book.

Very poorly written

This is about the most ignoble and inept clan of shifters that I've ever read. It is a dark and gloomy story from the beginning. How the h can want to stay in such a dirty, gloomy situation leaves me bamboozled! The whole concept doesn't make sense. It is impossible for such a large group of people to lead a nomadic life in Europe today. The editing was atrocious which made it very annoying to read. I would prefer to give zero stars but it will have to be one! I always try to be fair by imagining that somebody will like a story but I think that the only people who might be willing to go on to the next book would only do it if they are into heavy sex scenes. I really can't think of one good thing in this book.

Bear-shifter romance with a royal bear-shifter finding love and an instant family with a human.
The best part of the story was the beginning when I had no idea what was going on and Korrin and Kris were running for their lives with assassins just a step away from them at all times. That part was exciting! Then they get to Korrin's clan and start a road trip with politics that was just plain boring.
Smash-up story about gypsy/romani type travelers that are fantastic bear shifters that are in the middle of a coup-de-etat with a human-shifter romance brewing.
848 pages but who is counting how long a 'page' is? Because this felt more like a 200ish page book that I read in one afternoon.

Korrin's father (king of the clan) and his older brother (to be next king) are murdered by assassins and now Korrin is to be the king. He does not ant to be king, but after a stunning betrayal by someone he trusted; he has to be king to help his tribe. They are bear shifters and humans are not welcome; but Korrin had a one night stand with Kris (a human) and she is pregnant with his child; his heir. Now they will have to work together to try to bring the tribe out of the past and into the present day. This is the first in a trilogy.
I was given an Advanced copy of this book and am freely and voluntarily writing this review.

This is the first book in a trilogy and it a great different take on a shifter romance, as this take's place before humans were aware of shifters, as the shifters live as nomadic tribes away from humans populations. Korrin a bear shifter is the second in line to the throne after his older brother but he's more interested in drinking than the family responsibility of ruling. Kris is a good girl, studding aboard for her Masters degree, when one night she goes out with friends and drinks for the first time and after drinking too much ends up having a one night stand, from which she finds herself pregnant and her whole world turned upside down. I can't wait to start book two.

This was my first Becca Fanning's book and my first shifter bears story. I like paranormal story! This is the first book in this triology available in audiobook for now. This Serie has also a book 0. This story is very entertaining and fast pace. I love the two main characters, Korrin and Kris. Korrin is an alpha man/bear, devoted to his clan. Kris is a really strong and very supportive woman. The two of them will do everything to help whom they love. Their story continues in books 2 and 3. Addison Spear did a really great narration. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

AUDIOBOOK edition

This could have been such a great story, with a unique setting and interesting situations, but... Korrin doesn't come across as an Alpha shifter of royal blood and Kris, a human, is too much and at every turn she behaves out of character, maybe because she is thrown into an unbelievable world? I had a hard time connecting to them and believing their connection. The plot was good with interesting turns that I didn't expect especially the cousin's treachery. It ends well with a hint at HEA.
The narrator does a decent job, but sounds rushed at times and lacks in variations for the various characters and no males voices.

I only gave this book 3 stars for several reasons: I liked the fact that there was limited sex and that the characters actually had something to do away from a bed. However, I did find the plot to be pretty transparent as to just who was behind the plotting. As with most books of this type it needs some editing and grammar help. Still, all-in-all, it was a light, fast read to fill a few hours. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read shifter romance and doesn't expect to get a dense storyline. I would say that if you're looking for a more intricate plot that this is probably not the book to satisfy that.

Loved it! After a one night stand, Kris finds her life turned upside down. She realizes she is pregnant and doesn't even know the father's name. Korrin wants no part of being royalty. He just wants to drink, but on the night his brother is named the new king, assassins kill his brother. He finds his father is being poisoned, and they are after him and anyone that has anything to do with family, including the girl he slept with once. Can Kris and Korrin become a couple or will the killer's win? This is the best story of Ms. Fanning's yet! Outstanding story!

This is a great series that I recommend for fans of paranormal romances. I have read all three books.

It has lots of romance and action. There are many twists and surprises that keep it interesting and they have to work hard to survive. Together they make a great couple.

I really like them as a couple. They have intense chemistry from the first meeting. He really treats her with a lot of respect and relies on her opinions as they grow closer. She grows and learns that she is stronger than she thought.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

This is the first book in a trilogy, but does have a HFN ending. Kris is a human dropped into a shifter world after she meets Korrin during a night or too much alcohol. Korrin is a royal that wants no part of his legacy. His father and brother are there to fill those roles. There is treachery in the clan and Korrin must make decisions he never thought he would have to. Kris is trying to keep up with everything new around her and wants to help Korrin but he runs hot and cold with her. Explicit. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of his book.

Was not what I thought...

These stories were somewhat disjointed. The first story had little to do with the rest of the series. The stories were not as well developed ask would have liked. The editing was horrible as well. There were so many grammatical errors, poor spelling, and there were many errors in first/third person. These books have potential, but still need work. Keep going!!

DNF. the story had some editing issues I couldn’t get past. From the very start Kris is upset about something that happened “a few days ago”. Hmmm? It was a few days ago but she’s pregnant!?! Then when Korrin is talking about his room in the castle he says the word ‘room’ about eight times in a paragraph and a half.

Ultimately, I did not connect with ANY of the characters enough to want to continue.

Cliffhanger shifter story with an end point that makes it a "kind of" ending....

Kindle Unlimited bear shifter clan read. One night spent together brings their lives crashing together. Deception and assassins with a side of love??
This is a different kind of shifter story. They live as a clan hiding from the world....
