This book was not what I expected. With "Christian Victoria era" in the title, I expected it to be heartwarming. I read another review that mentioned she did not appreciate all the sex. It seemed like poison in her water. For those of you concerned, there is no sex described in this book, only innuendo.
There was a lot of Truth within the story. However, much of it was lost. The sixteen-year-old heroine was a child and acted like it. There was much grief, and it attempted to address coping with it. However, everything felt shallow and melodramatic. I did not relate to any of the characters, nor did I feel any emotional attachment. The book started easy enough to read, but I had to force myself to finish. The ending was not really an ending, more of a stop at a chapter to be continued and immediately picked up in the next installment. In spite of that, I do not plan to continue because I really do not care what happens next.
This is my first exposure to Jenna Brandt. This is no surprise as I understand this is her first offering as an author of Christian historical fiction. Had I not read that fact on Amazon I would never have believed it! I obtained this book from Book Funnel as a free book to introduce me to the author. It is the first book of a three-book Window to the Heart Saga series. I admit to being a little tardy in writing this review as I became so engrossed in the story that I could not put it down. As I read the last word, I went to Kindle Unlimited and downloaded the second book of the series, which I have now completed. The review of book two of the series will be finished shortly. The Window to the Heart Saga is actually a single, very well told story that takes about 875 pages to tell. I will disclose no real spoilers here. I recommend reading the Editorial Reviews for each book of the series. I love clean romance novels. However, all too often, I find some Christian romance offerings to be so obsessively dominated by condescending dogma that the entire reading experience is ruined. Not so here! I love the way the author intertwines Margaret’s love of the Savior with the situations in which she finds herself. Sincere prayers are answered over and over again. Her Christianity, is evident in the way she leads her life, yet she is not condescending of others, nor is she hypocritical. Don’t be dissuaded by the fact that this is a first offering by this author. It is, by far, one of the best books I have read in a long, long time. Ms. Brandt is not, in my mind, a rising star. She is a full-blown master of her craft and will be recognized as such by all who read her works. This first book begins with Margaret’s childhood and takes her through her marriage and the death of her husband. The setting is 19th century England. The author keeps you on the edge of your seat with plot twists and turns combined with emotional ups and downs. Prepare yourself for a fantastic reading experience.
Of course I would give my own book 5 stars, but seriously, I hope all of you will enjoy it. I spent many hours pouring my heart into the characters and fell in love with them. I hope you do too.
"She felt trapped between what she wanted for herself and the future her father had chosen for her."
"What makes love, love?" Certainly not an arranged marriage to a life-long friend. Lady Margaret is the young daughter of an English earl whose sheltered life has ill prepared her for the temptations that wealth and beauty can so hastily bestow. When lured into turning her affections towards a handsome duke, she selfishly denies the intentions of her father and allows passion to override her promises to an honorable man.
A good story, dominated by scenes rather than dialogue, "The English Proposal" recounts Margaret's "coming of age" both personally and spiritually, transforming her into a woman of faith, albeit with deep regrets. Fortunately, this installment is only just the beginning.
I received a copy of this book from the author. The opinions stated are entirely my own.
I love reading but just don't have the time, and haven't for the past few years. However, when I came across The English Proposal, I decided to just make them time. I am so glad I did!! I couldn't put the book down, and didn't want to! I LOVE historical fiction and this is so well done! I was taken back to my favorite era and swept up into a beautiful story. I fell in love along with Lady Margaret. I was so surprised at the twist in plot and loved/hated how true to life it was. I'm sad that I have to wait for the second book, because I eagerly await to see how this sweet Margaret's life goes. Do buy this book and make the time to read it as soon as possible!
"The English Proposal" (Window to the Heart Saga Book 1) by Jenna Brandt
Not having read anything by this author before, I was pleasantly surprised by "The English Proposal." It is quick paced and engaging. The storyline is one which is relatable today, despite this novel being based in the 1800's. The characters are well defined and realistic.
The novel is focused around Lady Margaret, who is betrothed to her long time and best friend Henry. Issues arise when she meets a Duke at her coming of age celebration, with whom she feels an instant romantic connection. Margaret had always felt that she would let Henry down as a wife and wasn't sure if she even loved him in a romantic way. So she pleads with her father to be able to at least be courted by the Duke; a plea he is unwilling to listen to. Her heart says she wants to be with the Duke but her head is telling her she must follow her father's wishes. On her wedding day, she has one last chance to choose the man she feels is best for her...
"The English Proposal," follows Margaret from the time she is 16, through her almost 18th birthday. The reader follows her journey from a single woman, to a married woman, and on to the next stage in her life.
The author has written a truly wonderful character in Lady Margaret. One who knows what is expected of her via society, yet has her own thoughts and beliefs and values. She is strong-willed, which can get her into some sticky situations, but she always turns out fine in the end. She would rather read than attend societal events. She has a strong relationship with her father and great respect for him. The main area where they disagree is religion. Their beliefs are quite different. Her father has a strong faith and relationship with God. Margaret finds the "fire and brimstone" aspect something she cannot relate to. Thus, while understanding that God plays some role in her life, she does not have a strong faith or relationship with God. But circumstances change and events occur that bring Lady Margaret back to the church and to God; something which does not please some.
While I liked many aspects of Henry, I also found aspects of him that didn't sit well with me. Jealousy, not always believing his wife, quick to anger and other flaws that would get in the way of his otherwise caring personality.
Richard, the Duke pursuing Lady Margaret and Richard's long time enemy never sat well with me, even from the beginning when he was presented as every woman's dream. But Margaret is trusting of him and has feelings for him that she believes she will never find with another.
Lady Margaret's father, while unbending and surly at times, clearly loved his daughter. In the end, he also knew what was best for her on many fronts. The one aspect of her father's character that I personally didn't like was that he would always call Margaret "daughter" as versus using her name or a nickname; it felt cold and uncaring. But this was a personal issue, not a novel or author related issue.
With wit, wisdom, sorrow, trial and error, and love, Lady Margaret faces the good and bad, the easy and the difficult with grace, strength, self-determination, and a growing self-esteem...as well as her newly found faith in God. She makes her way in life and faces her obstacles head on. I have no doubt that readers will fall in love with her, as well as this novel. I am looking forward to the release of book 2 on June 12th of this year.
(SIDE NOTE!! This novel is listed as a Christian Historical novel. While it is a clean read, some readers should be warned that physical temptation before marriage is referred to: "...not one day since had passed that she had not thought of him and how he made her feel," is an example; that physical relationships with a spouse are referred in different ways, such as this example in regard to swimming in a lake naked: "There are a thousand new and exciting things I wish to show you, Margaret. Making love in the water is only one of them." If you can handle those, then no worries. I always like to provide examples to readers, as I know some view the category of Christian reads to not include any references as the ones above. I believe the author wrote these scenes so they were realistic, but still a clean read. They showed true humanity and the reality of loving feelings and relationships.)

"The American Conquest" (Window to the Heart Saga Book 3) by Jenna Brant
********* One caveat I will provide and is a SPOILER BUT MAY BE AN ISSUE FOR SOME READERS... the issue of rape is addressed in one way or another in each novel and most prominently in this one. **********
This last novel in the Saga was enjoyable and engaging. It definitely held my attention as they journeyed from New York to Boulder, Colorado. They met some unsavory characters, including several they procured as guides and one tribe of Indians. They met a gentleman, Cortland, toward the end of their journey, who assisted them in making it to their final stopping point: the homestead left to Margaret by her father. A home and piece of land that did not disappoint. Margaret gave it to Randall and Jaqueline, as she and Cortland were getting married and would be living on the adjacent property.
Many secrets are revealed and many truths accepted in this last novel. Witherton and Catherine return and Jacqueline and Randall play a prominent role in this novel, as well.
**SPOILER** Margaret's looks was a major focus in this novel, as it was in the other two. It seemed to always lead to her being violated in one way or another, as a result. I was disappointed that this theme carried through all of the novels, but particularly for this last novel. I understand the premise the author was wanting to make. That certain events may lead us to lose our faith in God and getting that faith back is challenging and results in a lot of questions before one either turns away from or comes back to God. I felt that this could have been demonstrated in another way. **SPOILER ENDS**
I enjoyed the relationship between Margaret and Cort. It was a very strong, respectful, and loving one. Henry was a great little addition despite being a mature talker at 6 and 7. He provided some humor and brought out the lighthearted side of anyone he was around.
I found this novel to be more interesting, overall, because it showed how they lived and enjoyed life in America without their titles and requirements of high society. It showed a different side of of all the characters, but particularly Margaret. She quickly recognized that she felt more at peace in Colorado than she did amongst the British and French aristocracy. At the end of the day, running her own home and horse farm left her feeling accomplished. And finally, she felt at peace, safe and secure: what she had always wanted.
Rating: 4.3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Recommend to Historical and general romance readers. The author also has it categorized as a Christian novel.
The English Proposal by Jenna Brandt is a Christian historical romance. In spite of being set in Victorian times, it very much had a Regency romance feel to it. It is the first book of a trio in the Window To The Heart series which promises to be an entertaining read. The English Proposal is the story of a young woman's awakening - both to God and to the world around her. The world is a harsh place that contrasts sharply to her sheltered upbringing. People are ruined by the love of money and power. Gossip destroys lives as old rivalries surface. Seemingly good people are turned by the promise of more - more power, more money, more greed. The world corrupts if we are not careful. The reader wonders who are the good people? Who can be trusted? And whose heart has turned black? God is shown to be a firm foundation. We need to build our lives on Him. He is not the hell fire God but a God who loves His children and longs for a relationship with them. He will not be mocked however. It would be an awful thing to die without God. As a God of love, we are urged to imitate Him and love those we meet. There is the theme of grace. God does not punish us or treat us as we deserve. He extends grace to all who believe and who turn to Him and confess their sins. The novel has the theme of loss. Loss hurts and will either turn us to God or away from Him. "She had given up on God a long time back." God does not take our loved ones away as punishment. He is a caring God who walks alongside us in our pain. Loss is closely linked to guilt. "She felt guilty that she was trying to move on with her life." Our loved ones would not want us to remain mourning forever, they would want us to live and love and laugh again. Knowing that our loved ones know Jesus, we can have comfort that one day we will be reunited. The novel is a hotbed of truth and lies, scandal and gossip, duels, honour and romantic trysts. The reader finds it hard to keep up with the twists and turns of characters. The reader wonders who is of good character? I enjoyed the novel very much. It was an old fashioned swash buckling adventure. The ending captures the reader's attention and sets us up nicely for book two which releases in June 2017. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
The English Proposal is a delightful read. In the beginning we meet Lady Margaret Wellesley, a young maiden engaged to be married to her childhood friend, Henry, Viscount of Rolantry. Henry and she have been friends for ages, and he worships the ground she walks upon. Margaret, however, is a headstrong, willful beauty who is used to getting her own way. Because her mother died when she was young, her father spoils her, even to the point of letting her ride astride and go about unchaperoned in the countryside. At her first ball, Margaret meets a devastatingly handsome man, Richard, Duke of Witherton, who makes his admiration for her very clear – to the fury of her fiancé, Henry. Flattered, Margaret finds she can't get the duke out her her mind. She is confused about by her strong reaction to him. By chance, they meet again, and Margaret is struck anew at how intense her emotions are when he touches her. They arrange to meet again – in secret – and the duke confesses his love for her. Stunned, Margaret realizes she is madly in love with him and begs her father to rescind her engagement so that she and the duke can marry. But her father refuses. Margaret rebels against the strict codes of the “ton” and her upbringing and does everything she can to escape her marriage with Henry – to no avail. Her father remains adamant. Then Richard asks her to run away with him. Margaret's heart is torn. Will she run away with the man who sets her on fire, or stay and marry Henry, whom she considers 'just a friend'? I don't want to spoil the story, but I can say I read it in one sitting because I had to find out what happens to Margaret. She reminds me of Scarlet O'Hara, a modern woman trapped in a time when women were considered nothing more than a man's property. Margaret wants to escape the narrow confines of her life. But the book also deals in deeper subjects such as duty and faith, and how keeping ones faith is more important than anything, finally. The English Proposal is a whirlwind of emotions, and I am looking forward to book II in the series!
The sixteen year old debutante was stunning to all. The duke, new to their area, made his unexpected appearance at the ball. She was promised to her father's best friend's son while they were both children. They have been best friends for almost their entire lives. But she's angry that she has no say in the matter. She does love Henry as a friend, but isn't sure she loves him as a perspective husband. Then enters Richard, the duke, and also Henry's worst enemy. Almost immediately he determines that he must have her for his wife. So he approaches her Father for her hand. Margaret accidentally hears the private conversation and rushes in to beg her loving Father to change his mind. Her Father insists that he must honor his word to his dearest friend before he passed away. The wedding was not even scheduled for another 2 years to give her Father those years with him since his wife is deceased. But after the conflict between them, the ViCount sets the time up for just a short time.
The duke is outraged. He does his best to get Margaret to run off with him, but she simply cannot hurt either her Father or Henry like that. But how will she ever live through it?
How will she ever be able to have a physical relationship with Henry when she is so sure that she loves Richard? What is she to do? And then Henry knows all he wants is to every possible thing he can for his beautiful and precious bride. But where does he even begin to win her heart now that she wants someone else? How indeed???
I do not like reading novels like these, I prefer stand alone ones. Although this might just about do it for me. The characters' story arcs specially that of Henry and his illegitimate sister have become too drastic in their twists for me. The lack of faith and loyalty specially from Catherine (after the duel that killed Henry) against Margaret's kindness to and acceptance of her were as nothing. When Henry arrived at the duke's residence, despite his anger and his knowledge of the Duke's character and seeing the tattered state of his wife's clothes (the wife he professes to love), the previous failed abduction etc... did not even give him pause? I have seen stronger bonds between friends even if they are not Believers. This novel seems to imply that only Christians are capable of loyalty and faith in their own family relationships. Both Henry and Margaret's faith were not that deep when they married though they follow the rituals of going to Sunday services and listening to an even more un~Christian a Vicar (before Rev. Fisher) whose sermons did not help bring them closer to God. But then one's road to Damascus always come in God's own Time so one never knows about the When, How or Where of one's own Divine epiphany. The author made some salient points about Faith and that despite Margaret's sufferings she did not blame God instead she drew Strength and Comfort from Him.
What an absolutely fantastic series! I have read every single one of the series that encompassed , the English Proposal, The French Encounter, The American Conquest,The Oregon Pursuit, as well as The White Wedding. In each of the books I was amazed on the way the author was able to set the scene and continue with characters that were strong as well as creative and imagination inspiring. I absolutely adored this series! The author is one that has the ability of writing a story in a way that your mind is carried into the saga as it unfolds like your there in reality. There cannot be enough wonderful things written about this series for it was not all sex. Instead, it has passion, romance, drama, mystery and elements of every single thing that makes a book a GREAT READ. To me this is a great read. One that is inspiring, has some reality moments, makes you think and feel. It is one of the most attention grabbing series, I have read this year. I must tell you that I read the series of books in 3 days with many interruptions that I did not want! I can only hope that I am able to keep reading more from this author for she is incredibly talented! I was given this book In return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Jenna Brandt has created such a beautiful story. From the very beginning of the book, I was drawn into the story. Margaret constantly finds herself in predicaments. She does not want to confine herself to the rules of society, and this consistently gets her into trouble. While some of her antics made me grin other parts of her story had me crying. Through it all Margaret learns to trust God and fully rely on Him. Just like Margaret, so many times we try to do things without God and we only mess up and feel empty. As Margaret learns to put her faith God, we too must realize that our lives would be a lot better with God in them. There are also many twists and turns in this book that kept me guessing as to what would happen next. I must say that I never would have predicated what happened at the end of the book. I could not put this book down, and I guarantee that you will not be able to either.
Parental Warning: There are some scenes between the married couple that may not be appropriate for young readers.
I received a complimentary e-book copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Boy, am I glad things have changed for women for the 1800's, as far as rights and inheritance and what a husband can do as far as a wife goes. With this off my chest, this is a story of emotional hardship and lose. First the twin brother is lost at sea and presumed taken by sharks. Then at the mere age of 16, it is decided that Margaret is to marry, due to the unwanted attention to her of a Duke, with whom she is infatuated with. As her father had promised her to his friend's son, and would not go back on his word, thus forcing both herself and the childhood friend that was her fiancée, to marry, even though they agree it was best to call the engagement off. Well, that's really only the beginning, but if I spill the beans here, you don't get to read a very good story. One word of warning : this story has a devote Christian tone to parts of it, which is part of the story, but may be construed as inappropriate in the context of a fictional story.
I have to first say I am not a big fan of period/historical novels, so imagine my surprise that I not only enjoyed the book but am anxiously awaiting the next series. While I at first was turned off by the young lady before I remembered she was a mere 16, I later developed not only a liking but a respect for her determination and belief. The story and characters won my heart and I am sure those who have read it will attest to the love and hate of certain characters thru to the end and the strength of others.
This is my first read by this author and I found her work intriguing and her characters ones I was drawn to and almost made me forget it was a historical novel. I love that even the hint of sex was only mentioned after marriage and enjoyed the pleasure of a wonderful story that didn't rely on that to carry the story. A good clean read is always refreshing especially when turning the last page leaves you hungry for more.
Be still my heart! What a fantastic read. I started this book one day and finished it the next. I couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed the characters very much and I think that my favorite was a tie between Henry and Margaret's father. The setting was also very enjoyable. I must say this book had way more action than I thought it would. Jenna has successfully made me a fan of a man with a sword! The villain in this book made me want to crawl in the book and smack him myself. I couldn't believe how this book ended and I'm dying for book 2. I know once I read it I will be begging for book three too. The only caution I would give is to those under 13. There are several very sensual scenes I don't feel would be appropriate for children or pre-teens. These scenes aren't graphic or overly descriptive. I highly recommend this book for anyone over the age of 12. I received a copy of the book from the author for free. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.
I picked up a message in this story - if you have something good to tell someone, tell them. Don't leave it because it may become too late and you may never get the chance to do so. I like Jenna Brand's style. She had me hating some people and their horrid actions, and loving others. I was captivated by the story and drawn into the lives of the characters. Her descriptions had me conjuring up pictures of the various scenes and people she wrote about. I particularly felt for Lady Margaret. She is just too young to have so many serious decisions to make that will affect the rest of her life. Of course she makes some wrong ones but when she realizes her mistakes she tries to rectify them. The result is that I am quite eager to read the next installment in this saga and to see what Lady Margaret's next adventure in life will be and how she copes with it.
A story of growing up, finding your way and learning that the world might not always as wonderful as first thought. At 16 years of age Lady Margaret is in a prearranged marriage by her parents. Her betrothed is her long time friend Henry, Viscount Rolantry. But Margaret had never felt the deep down love for Henry that she thought she should feel. Upon meeting the Duke of Witherton, she finds herself captivated by him and begins searching for answers to her dilemma. Using her faith and prayers she begins her journey having many self discoveries, a tragedy and trials while trying to do what is right. This is a journey that will take you through heartfelt emotions as Margaret tries to find the herself and the right answers to make her life complete. A wonderful first novel by this author and know there will be many more to come..
I had heard really good things about this author and was looking forward to reading this series, but when I got into it I was surprised to find it so "sexual". There are a lot of "married couple" scenes in this story. After the first couple I started to skip past them. Then I skipped to the end and found a surprise ending and the story went on from there so I went back to find the scene of the surprise so that I could comfortably move on to the next book, hoping it wouldn't have those scenes in it. If it did, then I would simply have to take the loss on having bought the series because I don't read books with that kind of sexual content in it. There is a "Christian" theme in this story, but with the sex mixed in it just wasn't worth it. It's like a serving of poison with my salad!
This is an enchanting telling of how true love grows. Lady Margaret is only sixteen and is betrothed to Viscount Rolantry. She meets the Duke of Witherton at her coming out ball. He stirs desires in heart that the Viscount doesn't. Who she chooses and why becomes the best decision of her life. It leads her on the path to God's love, and helps her understand her father's decisions. Lady Margaret is naive, but compelling. Henry is loveable, but we cannot understand his reasons after all that has passed between Margaret and him. This story is well written and love is the theme throughout this story. Lady Margaret and Henry both learn what true love is and it changes their relationship and their concept of the world they are living in.
The English Proposal, book one in Jenna Brandt’s Window to the Heart Saga series, is a spellbinding read. Set in Victorian England, Ms Brandt weaves a historically accurate story full of traditions of nobility, romance, suspense, surprise twists and turns, and most importantly, faith in God. The main character, Lady Margaret, is very relatable. It is easy to sympathize with her as she faces several difficult life changing choices and events. The ending is exciting, unexpected, and will surprise you. I am anxiously awaiting book two in the series so I can continue my reading journey with Lady Margaret as she travels to France to begin anew.
This was wonderfully written showing the hardships of women at this this time. Sixteen year old Margaret is forced to marry Henry her life long friend while having feelings for another. Through some stolen kisses with the other man, she causes some doubt with her husband. Her father advises her that love is an action and after his death she seeks God and learns his lessons on love. Henry it turns out is her true love and the other gentleman is not at all as he appears. With God at the center of Margaret and Henry's marriage all things can be forgiven and true love blossoms. I received a complimentary copy and I am giving a review voluntarily.
This story exceeded my expectations. I was unsure if Lady Margaret Wellesley’s divided feelings would bring her joy or unhappiness, but through the love of her husband and a new-found faith in God, she learns what true love really is. I was kept interested from the first page to the last with the characters, as well as the friendships, duty, loyalty, suspense, and love found here. I hated to see this story end, but look forward to the next two in this trilogy. This is a clean, Regency romance that I would recommend to others. I received an advance reader copy of this book. I have voluntarily reviewed it and given my honest opinion.
This is the first book in this series by Jenna Brandt. I like how in this book the heroine had to figure out the difference between real love and infatuation. I liked that as she grew to knew God she came to love her husband. I love that the main characters were friends first and were able to build on that relationship even though their marriage started off ruff. I thought this was a good book and look forward to reading the other books in this series.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
Young Lady Margaret is pursued by two wildly different men, Henry, a steady, well-bred but less-than-exciting gentleman, and Richard, a lascivious Duke. Margaret’s father, the Earl of Renwick, is determined that she will marry Henry. Will Margaret yield to her father or will she risk her reputation with a passionate swain?
From the beginning of “The English Proposal”, I was captivated; I found myself sneaking away for time to read about Lady Margaret. The plot kept me entertained, and the twists were delightfully enticing. I can’t wait to read the next book!
I got this as an ARC for my honest opinion and review. This is my first book by this new author. I like a little bit of breaking the mold. She was sheltered all her life and her life had been decided for Lady Margaret and she knows what her duties are and who she thought she was going to marry do to her family's problems. Then her eyes fall on a forbidden duke. Only then did her soul take flight and her heart come to life. No spoilers here you want to read this historical romance and get all the juice details in this debut novel. It is a wonderful novel and it will be worth the read.
This was my first book that I read by Jenna. It was very powerful and had me in tears. She truly writes Christian fiction. I am fairly new to e-books and I have been exploring "Christian" romance in e-books. I have discovered that not every "Christian" romance is really that. I have to say that this book has some really serious topics, it is not something you want to read just to escape, and relax. It makes you really think and you will more than likely be in tears! The story does end in a bit of a cliff hanger and you'll want to quickly read the next book, which I did.
The story is set in the 1800's Victorian era. Lady Margaret is betrothed to her best friend Henry that she grew up with, her problems begin when she meets The duke of Whitmore who is her Fiance's enemy. Lady Margaret is now having to decide between her best friend Henry or the Duke. Margaret's father states she must marry Henry and his word is final. She has problems with The duke because he won't let go read the story to find out what happens. The story has the characters very well defined and a fast paced setting. I hope you enjoy has much as I did.
I have read a book everyday for the last six years and they've drawn me in but never like this book did. I couldn't stop reading this book. The author draws you in from the beginning. There is surprising twists and turns and unexpected surprises. Overall this is the best book I have read in at least the last six years if not longer. I am anxiously waiting for the next book and counting down until I am completely captivated again.
The story is good.It seems to dress a little in the beginning, but catches the reader's interest later on.Margaret's nature appears rather fickle,in the beginning.Henry's is always consistent,a very loving, devoted person throughout.Catherine introduces the surprise element,so does the duke. On the whole,an enjoyable book.I would like to read the other two parts to see how Margaret rebuilds her shattered life.
Lady Margaret is the daughter of an English Earl bethrothed to Henry the Viscount Rolantry since childhood. She is captivated by her forbidden passions for Richard the Duke of Witherton. Margaret must decide whether to marry her friend Henry or go against her father’s wishes and a have romantic relationship with Richard the Duke. Margaret prays and uses her faith to determine what is best for everyone. I really enjoyed this sweet Christian historical romance novel.
