In an alternate London, where ancient Hindu gods rule, one woman holds humanity's fate in her blood-stained hands... Adopted by Brahma Corp's Assassin Guild and raised as one of their own, Malina Hayes is about to make her fiftieth kill. After bringing down forty-nine of London's worst criminals, this latest job shouldn't be a big deal. But if Malina is successful, she'll receive her first milestone mark. Ascension in the ranks, better pay, and a swanky flat in Soho all sound like very good reasons to make this kill count. But fate and destiny have different plans for Malina. Seconds away from receiving the coveted milestone mark, Malina is torn away from the world she knows and thrust onto a new path-one where the purity of her soul will determine the very fate of mankind. Trouble is, Malina's kill orders were a lie. The targets she assassinated were innocents, and each one has left a terrible stain on her soul. Stains she must now remove, at any cost. Atoning for the blood of fifty victims is no mean feat, especially for someone who has spent their entire life killing. But if Malina fails, the lock on the gates of the underworld will crumble to dust. And we all know what happens when a legion of demons is unleashed upon the world... Especially when they have their sights set on you.

I read, The Witch blood Chronicles, a spin off to this series first and really wanted to spend a little more time in this UF world. The reason is that it is an interesting blend of Witches, Angel Like Creatures, Demi-Gods, Gods, Demons, Naga, Hellhounds and quite a few other creatures that are not usually at the forefront of more UF. I wasn’t disappointed in the inventiveness of the authors to branch out into less used mythos to bring a new world into focus.

Malina is a pretty fun heroine. She was raised from a very young age to be an assassin and she is one of the best. She always thought that the lives she took were of bad people who deserved to die for the greater good. When it comes to light that that might not be the case and her father is still alive searching for her all these years Malina has a new journey in front of her.

With an interesting cast of supernatural beings at her side Malina needs to try to figure out how to save her soul, rescue a few kids, bond with her long lost dad and come to terms with the idea that the family business is guarding a portal to the underworld and she is next in line to that job title.

There is a little bit of a love triangle happening in this. I’m not a fan of those for a lot of reasons but at least both guys seem great. Garuda used to be the Naga’s greatest foe but he is now trying to atone for the hunter he used to be, if they can get through some of the natural instincts happening there they might stand a chance . Ajitah somehow ended up the caretaker of three boys and seems to be missing his past, but he has found a friend in Malina and might want more. I did read the spin off so I know who she ends up with and I think that makes it a lot easier since I’m in it more for the journey than the destination at this point.

Marked by Sin is kinda short at around 250 pages and so once the story gets rolling it is go go go. It isn’t as polished as some of the other UF out there but the story is inventive and interesting and that goes a long way with me. Well worth a try.

Buddy read with my fellow UF addicts over at BB&B.

Malina Hayes is an excellent assassin, adopted by the Head Honcho at Brahma Corp’s Assassin Guild as a child and trained to be an excellent killer of criminals. And she’s just about to make her fiftieth kill, which would mean her first milestone mark, better pay and a better living. But nothing is as Malina thought it was when she finds out just how deeply she has been betrayed by those she trusted.

Instead of getting her fiftieth mark she finds out her kill orders were all lies and that instead of being a hero she was a murderer of innocents. Finding out where she comes from and who she really is places Malina in quite a predicament. With forty-nine stains on her soul and being the last heir to the gatekeeper of the underworld, Malina needs to remove the stains if she wants to keep the world safe from demons. Which is no easy feat especially since someone is set on having Malina fail.

I love UF and finding another captivating one with a fascinating storyline is always a win for me. I really liked Malina and how kick-ass she was. Also the fact that she’s an assassin with a good heart made me like her even more.

I plot was very interesting especially once Malina found out about her past, who her real parents are and what she actually is. I also really liked her two friends from the Guild as well as the new friends she made after finding out the truth. I hate love triangles so I'm quite surprised that it's not bothering me as much in this book - probably because I really like both Garuda and Ajitah. Although I'm totally on team Garuda (please let them end up together).

This was definitely an excellent start to a new to me UF series and I can’t wait to read the next one.

A not so fun fact; I am so bored!

I liked? it. I dunno. It wasn't bad. Since DB ruined the Shades of Midnight series for me I have been giving her the side eye but seeing as this is a collab I decided why not.

I was curious after the first book and was just about to get the second book when I read the review on Amazon about the love triangle that was in it. Eh. I'm bored but I don't need all the drama. I can pretty much guess who she's going to pick but I don't want to go through the stress of reading it happen. Ok. Thanks!

I think I like this book. It did take me some time to associate some of the names with a few of the characters and I did have to google a lot of the creatures in this world lol however I am enjoying it. Definitely not the standard werewolf/vampire type of uf book. The characters are growing on me. I’m interested to see where the story goes next! This is unique and different and so far it’s keeping me interested.

Published a few years ago as a co-author offering, this series has been re-released with beautiful new covers, though it boasts the same content. Bringing Cassidy's trademark verve for the complicated, it delves deep into a brand new world of different Gods, new myths, and lore just begging to be revealed.

I am an avid reader of Urban Fantasy and the paranormal, but I cannot recall a series that focused specifically on the Hindu mythology - a facet that makes me want to hit the books and learn more about this culture (even if this book is set in an alternate London). The idea behind it is solid, and the notion that your soul can stain... well... that just sets up what promises to be another epic series by the master of multiple plot lines.

Hello, my dearest Urban Fantasy loving GR friends. This short little UF trilogy has badass assassin-turned-into-savior MC, really interesting background (gods and demons walking among humans producing supernatural offsprings with various supernatural powers) and a lot of action. So how comes none of you read it? Please, help me solve this mystery, because it really puzzles me.

This book started out as a 5 star book, but after some thinking, I settled down on 4 stars.

Malina lives in an alternate version of London where gods walk among ordinary people and demons breed with humans to produce powerful offsprings. Malina is assassin paid to murder criminals. But just before she gets the mark for her 50th kill (which is a big deal), she finds out that everything she was led to believe is a lie.

Since I want to end this review on a high note (because I really liked this book), I will start by listing the things that weren't completely my cup of tea and end with the ones I liked.

As you may probably notice, Marked by Sin (as well as the other two installments in this trilogy) has only around 250 pages, which is quite short for Urban Fantasy. This leads to the slight problem that this book is REALLY fast paced. I generally like fast paced books (I'm not really the biggest fan of long descriptions), but I feel like this book could have been a little bit longer, so the authors could pay more attention to details and spend more time on individual scenes. There were times when I felt that the story was progressing too fast - there were shocking revelations on every other page and different action scene in each chapter. However, it isn't necessarily a bad thing - I just think that it might be better if this book had maybe 50 more pages, so it wouldn't feel so rushed.

The second this I didn't really like was the love triangle. Everyone who knows me or even just follows my reviews knows that I'm not the biggest fan of love triangles. However, this love triangle was quite mild, MC didn't really throw herself at neither of love interests and they didn't really drool after her either. The chemistry was for sure there, but it wasn't the center of the book.

Now let's move on to the things I liked. And there was a lot of them. I liked Malina as well as all of the characters in general. There wasn't too much space to build up characterization of each and every person in this book (since it was, as I said before, quite short), but I liked them. Malina is badass, but she is also a normal person. She doesn't think the world spins around her, she isn't overly cautious, but she isn't harsh or suicidal either. I liked how she acted and I liked how the thought. And she has bonus points for taking a stray dog in (although he didn't get much spotlight in the book).

The other thing I really liked was the world this book is set in - it's definitely urban fantasy, but even though there are vampires and shapeshifters, but aren't really all that important to the story. No, this book is about all gods and demons and everything between.

I have to say I never would have guessed what Malina really is (although reader finds out quite early in the book), but I liked it because it's quite unique. I don't like the whole "the fate of the world in on her shoulders" jam nor , but it's interesting nevertheless.

This book built a solid ground for the other two books with the unanswered questions - such as what's wrong with Eamon, where did Kubera go, etc. - as well as establishing the main villain .

Marked by Sin is the first book of the Gatekeeper Chronicles series by one of my favorite authors, Debbie Cassidy.

This series is about Malina, an assassin who specializes in poisons, who is about to take on her fiftieth kill. She finds out that her life isn't what she has been led to believe. Deceived by those who would see her corrupted for their own gain, Malina finds out that in order to balance the scales, she has to do some good in the world and save some lives instead of taking them.

Debbie Cassidy is such an amazing author that every time I read one of her books I'm continually wowed. The characters, the stories, and the imaginative world building that goes into the creation of each one of her series always exceeds any expectations I go into the book with.

I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm onto the next book as soon as possible. Love it!

After reading the blurb I was a bit hesitant, because "fate of the world at stake" kind of stories usually pack too much drama for me 🤦🏼‍♀️. By the same token, I never read a book by Jasmine Walt I didn't like (though I'm new to Debbie Cassidy). So I gave it a shot (that is I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review) 👩🏼‍💻. And boy am I glad I did 💃🏼!

"Marked by Sin" turned out to be a fast-paced, action packed, uber original new-adult paranormal with kick butt characters and numerous plot twists 🤔. The unpredictable story arc contains several cathartic moments, as opposed to standard foreplay-"wam-bam-thank you ma'am"-to be continued... It was definitely an exciting rollercoaster of a read.

This is a great example of the new-adult fiction, which is quickly becoming my favorite genre. The book has that element of moving away from the normal, acceptable and well-known. Malina's life is changing and it's not only the discovery of the truth, but self-discovery as well. Malina's evolution throughout the book stems from reconciling what she used to be with what and who she needs to become 🗝. It's so inspiring to watch her wrestle with some identity issues and become stronger for it.

I am unfamiliar with Hindu culture, so untangling the world building was a super fun brain teaser 👩🏼‍🔬. I found that I had to really pay attention to keep up. And thanks to this mythological background, the story is definitely original, with all the staples of the new-adult paranormal I adore and none of the tired cliches.

The romance is on the back burner. In fact, on several occasions I wasn't sure who the love interest was 🤷🏼‍♀️. It's a breath of fresh air among all the insta love craze that's so popular today 🙇🏼‍♀️. The relationships here develop organically and are not the driving force behind the story.

That's also a testament to the character building that is so typical of Jasmine Walt. So much so that my "bullshit detector" (thank you, Jasmine 🙋🏼) stayed silent the whole time. Malina is not a stupid daredevil, but a spunky and engaging heroine with a healthy self-preservation instinct and a level head on her shoulders. No drama or moping around here, but genuine human emotions and reactions that make sense and ring true every time ☑️.

"Marked by Sin" has no annoying cliff hangers. Rather it is a very well built set-up and a promising start to the awesome new series 🥇. I can't wait to the next installment❗️in the mean time I'm definitely gonna look up more books by Debbie Cassidy 📚

First book in this series, a great mixed tale of myths and legends and modern science going too far!

A young woman who was taken from her parents to fulfil a purpose by a god other than what she was born for and finding herself acting as a substitute mother for two children and falling in love with a human in a world where most people are tainted by demon and mythological beings blood! Shock horror. All the while trying to come to terms with who she's meant to be.

I loved loved loved it! A great fantasy tale with some unusual creatures. It's easy to picture being set in contemporary times like an alternate universe.

Easy to read writing as always and the story just flows pulling you along till it suddenly ends and you want more!

There is some sexual themes and violence in this book so not good for younger readers.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I'm SO GLAD I did! I have read all of Jasmine's collections thus far and I have yet to be disappointed. This is yet another amazingly well written book with such an exciting storyline! It kept me guessing all the way through. The main character Malina is vibrant, headstrong and of course a total badass! I will say I can't decide if I'm on "Team A" or "Team G"! I highly recommend this book and any of Jasmine's other literary works.

This was easily one of the best urban fantasies I've read in a LONG time.

The writing was great, the story was complex but still fun, there were some good jokes, and the world building was incredibly unique and interesting. I'm from Indian decent myself, so I was wary about reading something so close to home because some authors makes it cheesy, but it was not a problem at all. And the plot was fast paced and captivating.

Malina was like the ideal urban fantasy lead. Somehow she's a normal, well adjusted 21 year old but still a believable and effective assassin. She evolves as the story continues. It was really nice the way she is able to compartmentalize shocking revelations and get things done. The authors avoided all the pitfalls that make so many tough heroines annoying, but they did not get into Mary Sue territory at all.

And the romance was amazing!! I normally hate love triangles with a passion, but this is one that I really enjoy. It's obvious who Malina will end up with eventually and the conflict that exists right now in their relationship is so intriguing. The resulting tension was great. Plus he is so arrogant that you actually want to see Malina with another love interest just to humble him a tiny bit lol. No cheating/moral lines are crossed.

If the next two books are as good, I can definitely see this series in my top favourites of the genre. Up there with Illona Andrews.

Malina is an assassin that is on the eve of her 50th kill ceremony. She is about to be marked when everything she knows comes crashing down around her. She soon learns that the life she knew was all a lie, and nothing was it seemed. She finds out that she was stolen from her parents, lied to about her fate, her true form was repressed, and her soul has been tainted by the 50 kills. A she finds this out she learns her true purposes a hell hound and a way to redeem herself and u taint her soul. The question is will she be able to?

This is the start in a new series by Debbie Cassidy, who was very quick in become one of my favorite authors. The worldbuilding is phenomenal, you really can see the places you've read and can see it all unfolding in front of you. The characters are all strong and independent people. They all have a purpose and a say in this book and it's great to see such a cohesive group.

A fantastic book for all UF, PNR fans. This book mixes paranormal beings with myths and reality. We are left believing this world and needing more of it! I can't wait to start book 2!

I dunno, I really liked the concept of this book and thought the whole idea was really cool, but 2/3 in the book started falling flat.
I didnt think I would ever say this about a book but it was *too fast paced*
everything seemed rushed, character motives weren't really explained, and Drake, his whole job seemed to be explain exposition to the viewer
the book just underwhelmed me and I just got annoyed with it at the end

If you are looking for a book with non stop action that is also an urban fantasy then you should really give this book a try.

There was so much I liked about this book. Malina is a very strong female lead, one that won't give up no matter what. Malina also refuses to let anything negative run her life. She wants the good to triumph over the bad, which makes her a beautiful soul.

In this book we discover what Malina really is. She has been lied to all her life about everything, and she also has been told she is sick and will die without certain medicine. Turns out that just might not be the truth either, that there may be something that others are hiding from her so that she can't reach her full potential as who and what she may be.

Once Malina realizes the truth of all that happened and what is to come she doesn't dwell on it, she instead rises up and decides it is time to fight back, and really make a difference while all the while meeting two outrageously sexy guys one of which she is immediately drawn to but also scared of, and one that has very unexpectedly started to grow on her. While this little triangle is not the highlight of the book it does make it known that Malina will have a choice to make in future books about just who she would want to be with.

Malina has to fight off forces of darkness and save lives in this book while learning to accept what responsibility is to come, but she will be ready for anything anyone will throw at her.

I loved this book so thoroughly that I feel a deep connection with the characters and find this book deserving of 5 stars. This book was completely unpredictable, I never knew what would happen next. This book was also extremely well written. It had all of the background and world and character building without slowing the pace of the story. I can't wait for book two!

I received this ARC book for free from the author which had no influence on this review. I was under no obligation to provide a review.

Marked by Sin by Jasmine Walt and Debbie Cassidy is book one in their Gatekeeper Chronicles. In this book we are introduced to Malina, an assassin for Brahma Corp’s Assassin Guild. She has been raised as one of them for as long as she can remember and now she is just a step away from Ascension. She's been given the kill order for her 50th victim. All she has to do is complete the job successfully and she's on her way to better pay, a better place to live and moving up in the ranks of the Guild. But something doesn't really sit well with her concerning this next kill but she pushes it down. Just as she is about to receive that final mark that will have her taking the next step she's whisked away by someone who has been following her and thrust onto a new path that demands the purity of her soul, which has been compromised and now she must change that. The things she is told ring true in her mind and in her heart and now she must work to change what has been done to her. Malina must purge herself of the blood spilled by her hands so that she can do what she was meant to do all along...protect the world from the evil in the Underworld.
Marked by Sin is such an awesome read. Right from the beginning this book captures your attention and pulls you. You quickly find yourself wanting to know more about Malina. She's an expert assassin. Her weapon of choice? Poisons. She's good at what she does and always gets her mark, accomplishing the job. She strives to be accepted by the man who raised her but never seems to get his approval. But when Fates starts throwing twists and turns at her she manages to handle them well. She's been lied to all her life but now the truth has come to call and she must face it with all that she has and move forward.
I absolutely loved this book. There were even moments of where I got teary-eyed (yeah I'm a touch of the soft-hearted/emotional lol) because of the interaction between some of the characters. It's so easy to be selfish and only think of ones self but Malina shows that she has a really good heart. This book is really engaging and keeps you turning the pages constantly wanting to know what happens next. It was so hard to put it down whenever I had to do something else. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. If you are looking for a unique awesome ready with Hindu gods, vampires, werewolves, witches and more GRAB THIS BOOK!!!! You'll love it! I'm giving this book 5 out of 5 stars!

I have read many books written or co-written by Jasmine Walt lately, and I almost can't decide which one is my favorite. This new treasure is no exception, and I utterly enjoyed reading the book.
Malina is an assassin, hard, trained and proficient. Her skills are appreciated by the Guild and her carrier approaches fast an important milestone. With her fiftieth kill, she will ascend to a new level. But before she can be marked, hidden secrets are revealed and her world is shattered to pieces. Malina does not know who to trust, who she really is and how to right the wrongs she unconsciously made. Meeting her father after years, collaborating with Garuda who attracts her and scares her at the same time, and fighting alongside with Ajitah, fierce warrior with sweet heart, Malina's life becomes a mess and she does not know how to disentangle it. However, she must follow her heart and her true nature to become what and who she was meant to be.
I am absolutely awed. I never rate a book 5 stars if I didn't read it in one breath, and in this case I was probably holding my breath the whole time I raced across the pages. This story created a hunger in me that forced me to continue reading, making breaks only if absolutely necessary. The world of many races and species, where old Gods walk among humans, vampires and witches are no rarity and evil entity threatens to throw the world into a disaster, plays with the reader's imagination and devours him/her sooner than the poor creature realizes all is lost. Malina, Garuda and Ajitah are excellent characters, full of strength and passions of different kind, true to their natures and hearts. The whole story is very vivid and the reader can feel like more than a mere observant while following Malina's story.
Absolutely recommended!

I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest review. I had high expectations for this book, having previously read Ms. Walt's Baine Chronicles, and I must say, I was not disappointed! Marked by Sin was an incredibly enjoyable read. Jasmine Walt and Debbie Cassidy have teamed up to bring us this remarkable world of old Hindu gods and monsters with modern London sensibilities.

I found Malina to be a dimensional and likeable heroine. I admire her wit and candor, and she's very emotionally mature for a young woman in her early 20s – although, I suppose that's to be expected from an assassin. Even when presented with startling revelations about her past and her heritage, she manages to keep a fairly level head. And yet, her internal struggle with her newly revealed destiny is poignant. The rest of the cast is just as well-rounded, albeit somewhat mysterious. I hope we get to learn more about Malina's newly discovered allies, as they come from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. I also look forward to seeing how she is going to deal with the potential romantic interests brought to her by her new situation.

I thought Marked by Sin had a unique take on the supernatural world. The Indian and Hindi aspects of the book were interesting, and I thought the glossary at the beginning of the story was quite helpful – I definitely referenced it more than once! The story was paced well. One of my biggest pet peeves is when authors are overly descriptive for the sake of being descriptive. However, Jasmine and Debbie managed to create a picture of Malina's London in my head without bogging the story down with unnecessary details. The flow of events was very natural. The authors also managed to keep me guessing until the final twist, which I can certainly appreciate!

All in all, I'm stoked I got a chance to read and review this book – two thumbs up and five stars from this girl. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!

Marked by Sin by Jasmine Walt and Debbie Cassidy

I was fortunate in receiving and ARC for this fine book. Marked by Sin is a fast paced novel with an intriguing heroine, and it has all the elements of a good read: keeps you consistently interested, original characters, plot twists, and a little titillation here and there. I enjoyed watching the progress of the energetic heroine as she grew into her powers. One of my markers for a well-written book is the growth of the characters as they move through their story. This one gets an A Plus from me. I don't want to spoil anything for readers so I won't get into the actual process of it but I will say that it is original and fun.

What I liked best about the story was how real the participants, but most especially the heroine is. The authors do a good job of describing how she feels as the story unfolds. Another plus is the use of the Hindu Mythology as part of the framework. Having studied Yoga and its background I was familiar with it, and it made the story original and intriguing I also appreciated it that the violence was not excessive and was nicely spaced out so there was plenty of fun, good plot, and character development as well.

Minor complaint: The only aspect of the story that I found a little annoying was the fortuitousness of occasional resolutions: when all seems lost an unexpected rescue resolves the dilemma. That struck me as a bit too simple. However, it's all in good fun and you just know they will be rescued, so how it happens is really not as important.

I would recommend this fine read to anyone who enjoys an original story with plenty of excitement and a heroine that I hope to read more of in the future. It is set in England, and the occasional English word, like jumper for what we would call a jersey or top, for instance is fun too.

I have written this review in return for a free advance copy of the book.

Anyone that knows me knows I lean towards MF books and fated mate scenarios. Now Debbie Cassidy is the only author who has ever succeeded in getting me to want to turn an MF into a why choose. I shouldn't be surprised as her Deadside Reaper series made me want to add all the guys to the harem, she knows how to write guys you fall in love with.

I really enjoyed this Debbie is a skilled fantasy writer who has a gift for storytelling that's layered and detailed this book is no exception.

Malina is a kick ass heroine, assassin by trade. On a day that should be a celebration her world is thrown sideways when she is kidnapped and then the sh1t really hits the fan.

We have two hot guys here, Garuda and Ajitah and I can't choose, though we spend more time with Ajitah in the book, I'm kinda hoping Garuda's the one....hmmm maybe I have chosen.

A lovely colourful cast of side characters to support our heroine along with her dog Toto, though I think there is definitely more to him than a passing resemblance to the dog from the Wizard of Oz. Guess we will see, gimme book 2 already.

What an awesome take on supernaturals and the gates of hell! This is one of Cassidy's best M/F urban fantasy, and I can't wait for the second book already!

We first meet Malina, the main character and kick-butt assassin, right before she targets her 50th kill--a major milestone. As soon as she makes that 50th kill and goes to get her tattoo, everything she understands about her world gets turned upside down. Barrett, Malina's adoptive father, isn't able to help her and the new life she finds contradicts everything she has previously known.

We meet a magical entity called Aria, a gatekeeper named Eamon, a herb-loving witch named Drake, and two possible love interests, Garuda and Ajitah. Together they basically have to save all of humanity--you know, all in a day's work. Near the end of the story, Malina starts coming into her own powers, and she is one scary being. The next book can't come out soon enough!

I am a fan of this author’s writing so when I see a book authored or co-authored by her, I am always eager to read it. When granted access to this title, I dived right in expecting a great book. And, yes, that is what I got. The book was well-written, had a very interesting plot, and kept me engrossed the whole time I was reading it. The mythology was very rich, almost to the point I was tiny bit confused at points. However, the author knew this was going to happen, so she very graciously put a glossary in the front which was extremely helpful. It was nice to see something a little different in the urban fantasy genre. If you are a fan of Ms. Cassidy’s, you will love this book. If you haven’t read her, now is the time; you won’t be disappointed. I am so looking forward to more books in this series! Highly recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I read Marked by Sin the first time it came out, I loved it then and I loved it just as much the second time around. There were so many things in this story that some of them I actually forgot so I was pleasantly surprised. The world's that the author can build, even when they are overlaid our own world always fascinates me.

Malina is an assassin, and she is about to get her 50th kill but sadly for her, not everything in her world is what she believes. Deceived and corrupted so she can't fulfill her destiny, Malina must find a way to balance the scales and make things right as well as find out the truths of where she actually comes from.

The author is definitely someone I will one-click. Her stories are always thrilling from the very first page to the very last. She has the ability to draw you into her worlds and have you not wanting to leave. Can't wait to read book two.

For a first in series this book brings it!. It introduces you to some pretty awesome new characters and and even more awesome world that you might wish you were apart of yourself.
Urban fantasy is such a great genre as there is so much to create and explore anew with themes that have probably been touched upon several hundred times over from many different authors.
Mrs. Cassidy always keeps things fresh, as if it's the first time reading an urban/paranormal fantasy book.
You're definitely gonna want to read this exciting new venture from this author.
I am pretty much hooked and can't wait for more in this series with these characters.

Oh wow, this was so much fun to read! I’m dying to figure out who she ends up with or if she ends up with more than one. Debbie always blows me away with her books. Marlina is a feisty character, trying to figure out all the lies and secrets around her upbringing. She has one guy who supports her, another who she can’t decide if he wants her dead or alive, and a third I think she has convinced herself is interested in her best friend. There is a lot to grab onto here and so much to try and figure out, with lots of action along the way to keep you entertained.

Debbie Cassidy has such a way with the urban fantasy and paranormal worlds that she writes that you end up completely enthralled by her writing. Marked by sin was a fantastic and gripping read.
Malina is a strong FMC who comes to realise that the world she knows may not be exactly what she thinks it is. The story just flows and has you wishing you could be apart of this world. There's action, adventure and wonder in this story. And this first book gives us a taste of what an amazing series this will end up being. Great first book!
