This is a great book on Liturgy and Prayer, looking from East to West, amongst the Oriental and Eastern Orthodox communions, as well as Roman Catholics and Protestants of different persuasions.
Dr Gregorios shows how wonderfully the Oriental Orthodox Communion has preserved beautiful diversity in Liturgical worship, at the same time as true Christian unity. His meditations on Prayer and all the wrangling associated with it, is refreshingly honest and forthright, so too his sharp docus on the distinctly Christian and Eschatological elements of Prayer.
Some ideas are not drawn out clearly enough for my liking and a bit more rigour would have been welcome, but he speaks with a well-informed Liturgical authority constantly. Some of these arguments are magnificently outside the box as well- e.g. that Priests should be chosen by the community based on good character, like in earlier practice, rather than taken fresh out of seminary after they've volunteered themselves. I must read more on the history of this and I'm glad he made me think about such things in new ways.
A fine, short, crisp read to deepen Christian understanding on Prayer and Worship.
