Corus: Chain of Life

Rate this book
Book One in the ‘Life of Corus’ series
A tiny blue creature is woken by a raging storm in the black of night with no memory of who, where, or even  what  he is. Finding himself alone in a towering jungle, all of nature seems eager to destroy him.

Taking his first steps in an epic six-part journey, he begins to traverse the crooked march of progress as it twists and turns him in every direction. To survive such a harsh, unrelenting world, he’ll have to become far more than the frail, desperate figure he was when his aimless wandering began. But will this crucial transformation be brought about by new enemies or friends? Deadly lessons and cruel challenges push him to his limits as he’s forced to consider the very meaning of life and his own place within a wild world.

An odd twist on the classic ‘hero’s journey’ adventure drama. Corus is a fantasy grounded in realism and built on fierce action, towering adventure and sobering reflections on faith and reason, individuality and sacrifice, life, love, death… and  rebirth .

Written for a broad range of ages, men, women, boys and girls alike—the entire series features illustrations and alternate ‘clean covers’ without title or author text.

This first book in the series Corus by Ryan Scott tells the tale of a small blue creature who befalls many perils and personal triumphs. The author's words clearly paint a picture of the characters and their surroundings. I look forward to the next book that takes the main character away from the jungle village that took him in. No longer helpless, he now has the ability to chart his own course.
