The battle for Sanctuary has begun, and there is another enemy threatening the supernatural community besides the despicable Xerxes!
The supernaturals of Sanctuary have been through a lot: families have been decimated, friends and loved ones have perished or have gone missing, but those still standing are determined to succeed and claim back their home away from Veil and rid the universe of the revolting, nauseating, evilest of the evil: Xerxes. Told in alternate points of view from several characters, Ms. Shannan refreshes long-time readers’ memories, while we reminisce with our friends, and new readers will be able to get the gist of what has happened up until then and what is at stake for everyone. MY VAMPIRE KNIGHT is the culmination of the innovative Sanctuary, Texas series, and it could be subtitled “expect the unexpected”, because Ms. Shannan keeps us on our toes from beginning to end.
Krystal Shannan’s writing is at her finest: she paints such vivid descriptions of the fierce battles, of the awe-inspiring magick, of the heart-wrenching losses, of the all-encompassing love shared by the community and the spirit that unites the supernaturals of Sanctuary. MY VAMPIRE KNIGHT is not for the faint-hearted however, and if rape is a trigger for you, be prepared, because there is heavy stuff in there, however not in vain. Ms. Shannan has again put a fabulous twist on a legendary character: Calliope is a Siren, not a mermaid, and she is wonderful, as is brooding Godric who is not your ordinary vampire. Both Godric and Calliope are strong personalities, and they find it difficult to accept that they’re fated mates, because of the secrets they both have. There is not as much sex in MY VAMPIRE KNIGHT as some other books in this series, however there is much love, and much growth as well from several characters. When it comes to paranormals, I usually prefer vampires, but Krystal Shannan’s dragons and phoenixes are so spectacular, I just can’t get enough of them! I can hardly wait for what Ms. Shannan has in store for us next!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
