I read "His Destiny" the 5th book in Sheila Kell's HIS series without having read the others in the series. I enjoyed the story without doing so, however I want to know more about the other characters and their stories.
This is the story of Trent and Kelly. Trent is struggling with survivor's guilt after losing a close friend and Kelly is grieving the loss of her fiance as she carries his child.
Two damaged souls come together in this sexy, action-packed tale.
I look forward to reading the earlier books and the rest of this series.

His Destiny by Sheila Kell a fab four-star read. This is the fifth book in the His (Hamilton Investigation series) romantic suspense series. The books don’t have to be read in order but if you don’t you won’t get the whole picture. The reading order is His Desire (Book 1), His Choice (Book 2), His Return (Book 3), His Chance (Book 5) and the His Destiny (Book 6). Each book’s main focus is a different couple, and this time it’s the turn of Trent and Kelly. I don’t want to reveal the story and give spoilers away as it is a romantic suspense story, but I will say that it’s a great story and you need this series in your life, it’s been string all the way through, and this instalment may be my favourite. Trent is a runner, he ran from his pain, and never looked back until someone from his past may need his help he runs right back, as somethings over-ride his pain. The only problem they face is that fate and destiny don’t always play fair and don’t make the best bed-fellows.

Tissues are needed for this one. To watch Trent deal with his injuries, losing a friend, the revelations about who he is, a friend in danger and his blossoming feelings for her was fascinating. Sheila Kell tackled many issues with finesse and grace while still giving us a action backed, saucy tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Trent is lost and angry but over time as he faces things he realizes that Jamie was right and he needs to move forward. As he sees the danger Kelly is in he goes into overprotective mode but also realizes his love for her but is not sure if that is what it is. He is also dealing with survivors guilt, why and who is after Kelly, her situation and his own family. A great strong character that has you loving him and respecting him for the beginning and getting his point of view helps you see how he deals and feels.
Kelly is the best friend who always loved Trent as more. When he pushed her away due to all he was dealing with she felt hurt. She moved on but never really let another in her heart. When dangerous things keep happening to her, Trent is there and she is feeling safe. They go through so much in this book and come out stronger than ever with a love that is bound with respect, friendship and equality. I loved how they both found themselves feeling at home at the ranch. Her point of view is also seen and it is interesting how her feelings and emotions don’t always coincide with her thoughts. I love how she never gave up hope that Trent would love her as she loved him. Just took him a little bit of time to get there.
The mystery of why and who was after Kelly was intriguing and alluring. Seeing the events unfold and how they shaped Trent and helped him see where he belongs and move on was awesome. It also helped him see his love for Kelly.
The romance was saucy and sweet. It wasn’t instalove but one built on friendship and respect.
A great edition to the HIS series that has you laugh, cry and hope Trent and Kelly come out stronger and together.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and the story kept you interested. The story has laughs, suspense, pain, and heartbreak.

I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the previous titles in the HIS series, and I was looking forward to reading Trent's story, and it didn't dissapoint.
Trent and Kelly are a pair of endearing, complex, and dynamic characters. Trent is a bad-ass, alpha, with strong protective and caring instincts, that come to the fore front when his best friend finds herself pregnant, and alone, after the unexpected death of her fiancee.
A story with a great blend of intrigue, danger, action and suspense. I love the strong family dynamic and the way that each of the titles in the His Series are interconnected. An entertaining and captivating read full of emotion, drama and angst.
I thoroughly recommend His Destiny to anyone who enjoys a romantic suspense, or a story line with a strong family focus, or a series with interconnected titles. I will be eagerly anticipating more of Ms Kell's work in the future.

I have enjoyed this series, and this installment really blew me away! It's been a while since I've read the previous book (amateur, I know) and I have to admit that I didn't remember a ton about Kelly. I know we've met her before, but I was hazy on the details. Luckily, this book stands alone well (although you will certainly enjoy it more if you read the previous books) and I really came to like and respect Kelly. And then there's Trent, who I just adored. He is battling some demons, but his love for Kelly is obvious to everyone but him. Their relationship really was fantastic and it seemed to move at a good pace. I understood and respected each characters' actions, and you just can't help but root for them!
The mystery/suspense angle of this book was on point. It was fast-paced and kept me really engaged.
I only had one question on the plot: Not a huge deal, but just a question that lingered for me and never seemed to really be addressed.
Overall, a very enjoyable read! Highly recommend!

I am new to both this series and this author, so I was interested in finding out how I would like both .
Through no fault of the author ,at first I was a little lost since the main characters and secondary characters have been in previous stories and had a history. Due to this , It took me a while to get into the storyline .
That said, I have to say that I enjoyed Trent, and Kelly. They were well developed characters. Trent has his own demons to overcome, especially after his injury, loss of a friend and finding out who is his real father. Kelly, an investigative reporter, and at one time his best friend, also was an interesting character. She is pregnant, thrown in the midst of an investigation and now having to deal with her house being ransacked, and the possibility that her boyfriend’s death was not accidental.
An interesting story and an author I will continue to follow.

HIS Destiny is the fifth book in the HIS series by Sheila Kell, and I will admit here to having missed book four which is Devon and Rylee's story. This MAY have affected how I've read Trent and Kelly's story, but I can't be sure.
After the blast that took Les' life, Trent went through his hospital stay as stoically as possible, with his only intention of escaping everything as soon as he could. He feels smothered by his new-found 'brothers' and won't even allow his best friend Kelly in to see him, in case she pities him. So, once he is well enough, he heads on out on his bike, determined to leave all that behind him. Only he doesn't go alone. One of the nurses who helped to look after him has come along. It's nothing romantic, far from it. She is actually dying and wants this to be her final ride. Trent does a good thing for her, and in return, she tries to help him move on and accept his family.
Kelly is settling for Brian. She loves him, and has done since High School, but she isn't IN love with him. She feels horrible for feeling that way, but Trent will never be hers, so she just has to deal. Everything is going okay until Brian is killed and more than one attempt is made on Kelly's life. Meghan speaks to Trent and he is soon back in Kelly's life, trying to catch up on all he has missed out on.
This is an enjoyable story, with plenty of interaction not only between the two main characters, but with all the members of HIS, plus additional characters too. With plenty of intrigue to keep your attention, HIS Destiny is a real page-turner. Kelly's attitude towards Trent's proposal annoyed me a bit as I don't like double-standards. However, she could see herself what she was doing, although it didn't alter her answer. I know it's there for a reason, but still, that bit got to me.
Very well written, the pace is consistent and flowing, building up to the climatic ending. If you like #Romance #Suspense, then I can definitely recommend this series, and this addition to you.

Lovely read again from Sheila Kell. I liked how Kelly and Trent's story unfolded. Good characters and again a good blurb and suspense to solve.
Like all other books in the series it ended with a HEA. I like the family dynamics in this series. It really is heartwarming how these brothers and sisters (either by blood or by marriage) stand for each other. I wish everyone could have a family as supporting as the Hamiltons.

Another great hit for Ms. Kell! This book has so many emotions ans suspense in it. it was great the relationship Trent has with his step brothers and step sister. The love and support they show each other is amazing. It was so great how the all banded together to help Kelly. It was great watching Trent realize that he loved Kelly along.
While danger was following Kelly HIS banded together to protect her. It was a great story. This story was so engrossing it kept me up reading to the end to see how it all came together. I recomend this book to everyone.

Kell has another great romantic suspense with His Destiny. I was looking forward to reading Trent's story and I was not disappointed.
Great characters, high emotion, and tense situations make this one that will keep you up past bedtime. The characters Kell creates are each unique, with their own personality and emotional baggage. Trent and Kelly bring more than most. The plot was interesting and suspenseful with plenty of steam.
I highly recommend this book and the entire HIS series to fan of the romantic suspense genre.

Another great read from Sheila Kell! Trent and Kelly's story had me riveted from start to finish. Bringing back Kelly from AJ and Megan's story was a great way to see the connection of the characters beyond the Hamilton family.

Another great book about the men of H.I.S. security and this one is about Trent & Kelly. They have been best friends for a while and been there for each other in the past but when Trent gets seriously injured he turns everyone away, escaping his problems by running away with a friend who is dying of cancer. Kelly has been in love with Trent since she met him and was tired of waiting for him to see her as more than friends, so she gets engaged to her high school sweetheart and they are expecting a baby.
When her fiancee is killed in a hit and run and her friends believe she is in danger, Trent doesn't hesitate to come back and protect her. He is surprised that she is pregnant and now there are two lives on the line if he doesn't figure out who is out to get her and why.

Have a box of tissues ready when you read this book. You'll be crying your eyes out by the end of it. Sheila Kell has written yet another great installment of the HIS series. Trent McKenzie is struggling with survivor's guilt after the loss of one of his closest friends. Kelly Williams is trying to find how to cope and move on from the loss of her fiancé while she carries a child. Drama, suspense, and a whole lot of emotions are sure to be found by the reader.

Having read all the previous books in the HIS series I was familiar with the characters of Kelly and Trent and of their close friendship. They have a strong bond between them and they normally share everything that is going on in their lives with each other that is until Trent was severely injured saving his niece Amber from a suicide bomber and is badly scarred.
Trent can't cope with facing his new found family and runs away as he is filled with so much guilt after his friend Les died in the blast and that he survived, that is until he learns that Kelly is in some kind of danger and his need to protect her takes over.
Kelly has been in love with Trent a long time but he just doesn't realise he felt the same about her and it's interesting to watch how he dotes on her and keeps her from harm as their relationship grows. Everyone else can see what is staring him in the face but it takes him a while to let her in and let her love him.
There is a lot of back story in the plot of this book that if you haven't read some of the other books before you might not understand everything at the beginning but as the story progresses you will do so stay with it and all will make sense. There is a lot of drama and suspense to keep you reading and you will be touched deeply by the tender moments between Kelly and Trent as they confess and reveal all the hurt and heartache that they have both been going through.
This was an enjoyable addition to this series and i'm looking forward to reading more about the other Hamilton brothers. A great 4 star read!

Everyone else can see what is staring him in the face but it takes him a while to let her in and let her love him.
There is a lot of back story in the plot of this book that if you haven't read some of the other books before you might not understand everything at the beginning but as the story progresses you will do so stay with it and all will make sense. There is a lot of drama and suspense to keep you reading and you will be touched deeply by the tender moments between Kelly and Trent as they confess and reveal all the hurt and heartache that they have both been going through.
This was an enjoyable addition to this series and i'm looking forward to reading more about the other Hamilton brothers. A great 4 star read!

Great read as usual ! Suspense and danger plus love and family , a great combination . Another great addition to the Hamilton family series ! Well worth the time !

When the last book in this series finished, Trent was lost, confused and angry. I wondered where Shiela Kell was going to take Trent.
I wasn't disappointed. Trent goes off to lick his wounds, but really he is running from the hurt and anger he feels towards Blake Hamilton and it's only when his close friend Kelly Williams is injured that he puts his pity party away and returns home.
Kelly has always been in love with Trent but she gave up waiting for him to see, now her life is in danger, her fiancee is dead and she needs Trent to protect her.
Kelly is a brave lady, she didn't deny her feelings for Trent, she told him up front that he missed out on the best thing he never knew he had - will he man up and see that Kelly is what he needs in his life - or will she be taken before he can work out who is after killing her?
I Loved it!

I enjoyed the story. and it is easy to read it as a standalone if you are new to the series. Trent has been weighed down by the recent incident where he saved his niece and Kelly recently lost her husband. Kelly is in danger and needs him. I have enjoyed this series tremendously and each one keeps getting better and better. Trent has always grown up with the men of HIS but never quite knew the reason behind that other than his mom working for the men's father. If you're familiar with the series than you know the reason was a bit more complicated than that and with this book you get the full story. This book for me was filled with romance, intrigue and ALPHA hotness to its core. If you're looking for a friends to lovers romance with a bit of suspense and action thrown in than this is your book. Trust me each men of HIS is hot and will leave you panting for more.

I read this story without having read the others in the series. I was able to enjoy the story without doing so but it did make me want to know more about the other characters as the events of previous stories are part of the story line. I enjoyed the story of Trent and Kelly. Both leads are feeling guilty....Trent for his actions and Kelly for her feelings. I was happy at how they both overcame this and resolved to be happy with their lives. I have other books in this series sitting on my Kindle and look forward to reading some of the other characters stories. I would recommend reading Sheila Kell's HIS Series and look forward to more. I received an advanced copy in return for an honest review.

This is the fifth book in the HIS series. I've been waiting for Trent and Kelly's story and it was well worth the wait.

Kelly is pregnant and just lost her fiance in a hit and run accident. That may not have been an accident at all. When Trent learns that Kelly may be in danger, he comes back home to help protect her. Great suspense romance!! This book can easily read as a stand-alone if you have not read the rest of the series. When Kelly's fiancee dies after being hit by a car and other "accidents" seem to keep happening to her, the one person that keeps coming to mind is Trent. Trent runs away to try to come to terms with his life after learning who his father and siblings are and losing a friend when a bomb goes off and he ends up with 3rd degree burns across his back. Kelly's best friend comes to Trent and lets him know that she needs him, whether she realizes it or not. This story grabs hold and doesn't let go until the end. This is definitely worth reading!!

Have a box of tissues ready when you read this book. I was in tears within the first few chapters. Shelia knows how to write a Heart gripping novel. Sheila Kell has written another great addition of the HIS series. Trent McKenzie is struggling with survivor's guilt after the loss of one of his closest friends. He is also struggling with accepting his new family. Kelly Williams is trying to find how to cope and move on from the loss of her fiancé while she carries a his child. Drama, suspense, tragedy, and a whole range of emotions will keep you captivated through out this great read.

This is my first book in the HIS series and I loved it. Sometimes I felt like slapping Trent, so he could see what was in front of him all along. The love Kelly had for him. It wad suspenseful and romantic. There were sad times and happy times. I was a page turner. I was drawn into the story. I look forward to reading others in the series.

This is the fifth book in the His Series and features two damaged souls, Trent and Kelly. An emotional roller coaster with lots of suspense and drama. A real page turner. It would help if you read some of the previous books in the series first. Grab your hankies because you'll need them. A well written story with characters you'll adore. A fun read. I received an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

I love the His series and Trent's story didn't disappoint!
After saving his niece and learning about the family secret, Trent is a broken man who wants to be left alone.

Re-read: Trent - A wonderful character who is certainly mis understood. He is an absolute sweetheart and Kelly is a perfect match for him.
Original read - Oh, His Destiny is so "a MUST read".
I am not going to spoil the story but if you don't read this series then you are truly missing out.
I came to this series starting with book 3, so reading them out of order is possible but if I could do it over I would read in order.
Sheila Kell is a talented writer who has a few books under her belt.
Go on and give her a go, you won't regret it.

I have read all of Sheila's books and cant get enough of them. This one stood out as one with constant action from start to finish. Just when you thought there'd be a quiet moment, BAM! drama, excitement, suspense. There was always something building up in each and every chapter. Never a dull moment.
I love the angst with the love interests and how she draws them into one another, how their romance blossoms, the passionate love scenes, and how true love prevails in the end. Goosebumps!
I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about all of the HIS brothers lives and the women they come to love. Each book brings you deeper into the families lives as if you are part of their family as well. How Sheila keeps coming up with new ideas, new plots, new situations, keeps me coming back for more. Well written, entertaining, professional stories.Love all her book covers as well. Must reads!
