Myla laughed and grabbed Kelly’s hand. “Sorry about that, she’s a little intense when she talks about basketball.” Kelly gave her a sideways grin. “Hi Emerson. This is Myla. If you see her around downstairs, would you mind letting her in?” “No problem,” Emerson said with a polite smile. She quickly stepped into the elevator, but not before Myla saw the pink flood her cheeks. Myla took in Emerson’s short brown hair that was styled perfectly, her incredibly long eyelashes and wide smile that gave way to perfect white teeth. As soon as the doors closed, Myla pounced. “Holy shit, she’s cute. Have you two ever hooked up?” After finishing her first season of coaching basketball camp, Kelly was ready to start her 5th season as the high school basketball coach. What she didn't plan for was an ER set back that would keep her from finishing the season. Emerson, her "butch" neighbor, is a confident and assertive journalist that finds comfort in helping Kelly through her rough situation. When she offers good food and conversation, Kelly's awareness of her neighbor begins to morph into a friendship, and appreciation for her finer attributes.
