She’s the one thing he won’t give up on The calls started a year ago. I needed an easy release, and he was there, for a price. One call turned into two, and before I knew it, I was falling for the voice on the other end of the line. When he shows up and introduces himself as the newest firefighter on the island, I’m terrified...at first. As the mayor, the last thing I need is a scandal. But Riley won’t take no for an answer, and I’m finding it hard to refuse him.
He’s a distraction she can’t afford Kate, the mayor of Temperance Falls, has a naughty little secret. Except I’m not so little and a hell of a lot more than just naughty. A year of weekly phone calls with our identities disguised has left me craving more. Being together could ruin everything she’s worked for, but there’s no turning back. Now that we’ve actually met, now that I’ve had a taste, nothing will stand in my way of making her mine.

Me before reading Sinful Distraction: I didn't know cougar romances were a thing...👀
Me after reading Sinful Distraction: I'm gonna need to read more cougar romances...😉
Sinful Distraction was yet another sexy installment in the Temperance Falls: Selling Sin series by London Hale and it follows our two main characters, Riley Nash and Kate Briscoe. Riley is a phone sex operator and Kate is the mayor of Temperance Falls. The two first come in contact with each other after Kate dials up a phone sex hotline and Riley happens to one who picks up her call. Slowly but surely, they both start developing feelings for one another, despite having never met. But when Riley decides to take things to the next level, Kate becomes guarded because she doesn't want their secret to cause a political scandal.
So like, I'm gonna need the number to the hotline Riley works at so I can find me one of him...🙈😂 Lawwwdd, Riley has a mouth on him and let me tell y'all the man knows how to use it. I was a little unsure about Kate because while I've read a lot of age-gap romances, I've never read one where the heroine was older, but I ended up loving her. While she is an independent and self-sufficient woman who knows how to get the job done, I liked how she would let go and let Riley take care of her and tend to all her wants and needs. I do wish that the conflict would've been played up more in this book. I felt like it was just thrown into the last two chapters and then things were easily fixed and I ended up wanting more.
Sinful Distraction was a fun and steamy installment and I hope London Hale continues to write more sexy stories about the people of Temperance Falls because I simply can't get enough!
Aaaaaaaaaaaand we are back in full force with the sinfully delicious filthy sexy sexy
I'm not sure if I've mentioned this in my previous reviews for London Hale, so I'll say it now ... these chics KNOW how to bring you classy smut! Every single one of their books has been on point ... ridiculous amount of sexy-sexy all wrapped in a beautiful smutty story :) #winning
Ya'll know what to do so just do it .... #onelickrightnow! #TRUST
Sinful Distraction was a funny, sweet and naughty read. I loved that the hero was a dirty talking neanderthal and that the heroine was a no nonsense, take charge type. I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to read the next book in the series, hopefully it's John and Emery's story.

Sinful Distraction by London Hale was a quick, steamy and very entertaining read!
I loved Riley and Kate, they were likable, passionate people who entertained me all throughout the book. I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop, I loved how well Riley knew Kate, he was attentive and always putting her feelings first. Never once did I doubt Riley's feelings, he was unconditionally in love and would do anything for his woman. Damn I loved him.
Sinful Distraction is the third book from the Temperance Falls: Selling Sin Series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all.
I don’t typically read books with older heroines, younger heroes. It’s not something that I’ve encountered a lot, but I knew that I would read this one because well, London Hale. I can’t say that Sinful Distraction was my favorite book in the series, because I didn’t have as strong a reaction to these characters as I did the previous ones, but I still found it to be entertaining and super sexy! This installment features the romance between a phone sex operator and a mayor! Talk about politically scandalous! I enjoyed both Kate and Riley’s characters. Kate was hardworking, and badass at her job, and Riley was a total sweetheart. The chemistry between them was strong from the very first phone sexy times scene, and it only continues to build up over the course of Sinful Distraction. What was mildly absent for me though was a strong emotional connection. Sure Riley and Kate do form an emotional bond, but I felt like everything happened too fast for it to possess the depth that the previous couples had. Maybe I’m just being greedy, but I wanted more of them. Their sexy times were on fire as usual and the epilogue was especially really adorable. All in all, Sinful Distraction was another fabulous addition to this novella series!
Well, London Hale has done it again. Shocking, right? Sinful Distraction was totally perfect and I absolutely loved it. I could get super personal and talk about why it struck such a strong chord with me, but I’ll spare you all the details. I’ll just leave it at this: I had a long distance relationship in college and, well, parts of this book hit home. *cough*
Temperance Falls has given us our share of older man/younger women books, but this is the first time we get the role reversal. I’ve never been much into the “cougar” thing, but it really worked here. I absolutely adored both Kate and Riley. The setup between them was fun. I mean, a buttoned-up town mayor and the new-to-town firefighter who moved there to find her? Oh and did I mention the reason he was looking for her? He’d been her, um, phone buddy for awhile now and he was ready to finally meet and see if things could move beyond the phone. Gods yes, please.
Sinful Distraction was fun. It was smoking hot and filthy as hell. Riley had an *amazingly* dirty mouth — as you might expect given his, uh, former profession. Kate and Riley’s chemistry was killer and it translated well from phone to in person. I loved their story and the way they chose to fight the obstacles between them together. I was rooting for them from the start, so there were some feels involved. Another hit from the wonderful duo of London Hale. I pretty much need them to just keep writing forever. Their books are my go-to for quick, hot and dirty (but sweet) fun with depth.

FAVORITE QUOTES
“A good woman deserves a man who’ll treat her like a princess when she needs it.”
“If a man can get you off like that over the phone, think of what he could do when he can use more than just his voice.”
“Let’s see if we can go from fake fucking over the phone to something real. See if we can transition to something tangible. Let me prove that we can.”
“I swear, how you can go from absolutely filthy to perfect gentleman in the span of two seconds is baffling.”
“I don’t want hard and fast right now. I don’t want to pull out every filthy sentence I know to get you off. I just want you and me in that big-ass bed of yours. Let me love you, Kate.”
Ok this one set my iPad on fire!!! The dirty talk was insanely sexy, and this is my favorite London Hale book to date. The older woman, younger man trope was a very nice change. I loved it.
Mayor Kate Briscoe has worked her entire life to get where she is in her career. She's tired of men not being able to handle her as a strong successful business woman--they always leave. So to unwind and relieve her stress every week she calls the one number that won't let her down. It's her dirty little secret. She's been working on a major deal for years that will really help the economy on the island, but she has people working against her so she has to watch every move she makes. When she meets the man who has been on the other end of the phone for close to a year now she's tempted like never before.
Riley Nash is finally ready to claim the woman he's been talking to for a year now. They have a connection, and he's back home on the island as a new firefighter to prove he's ready and able to be her partner in all things. He supports her as a career woman and is proud of her accomplishments. He's there for whatever she needs. He just need to convince Kate of this. She's hesitant because of their age difference and her busy schedule. She's been burned in the past, and doesn't know if she can handle another heartbreak. Riley is different though, and slowly but surely he's proving himself as the man who can give her everything she's been longing for.
This book was blazing hot, but also sweet and funny. LH has once again wowed me with their combination of smut with substance. They are a fantastic duo, and I devour whatever they write!
This would be my first read by London Hale and I found Sinful distraction really enjoyable and hot defiantly know I'll be reading more in the future by this author . This is a funny , beautiful , naughty read that will have drawn to in till the very end . Thought it is very unique how the characters meet and adorable they way the hero is reacts every time he sees and hears the heroine . The sex scenes are really hot along with the way they talk on the phone just yummy panties gone . You really don't want to miss out on the fantastic book one click right away . copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero = 10 heroine = 10 secondary characters = 10 Chemistry =10 steam =9 romance = 9 humor = 8 darkness level = 3 enjoyment = 10 angst = 10 action = 3 story line = 10 mystery = 3 character development = 10 pacing = 10 Plot = 10 cover =10 stars = 4.5 author = 8 would I recommend this book = yes would I re read this book = yes would I read future books by this author = yes
I came for the premise–a younger man with an older woman meeting through phone sex? yes please. But I stayed for the steam! It was kind of expected with a male character who starts as a phone sex worker, but I wasn’t expecting THAT hot. And still, what I enjoyed the most about their intimate scenes was the power play–how the powerful woman gave away the control to the younger man–and how sex was used to comfort and reassure each other. It was never just sex.
The conflict that threatens their relationship is obvious, but I was a bit disappointed that it was kind of downplayed. Sure Kate resists a long time because she knows being in a relationship with a much younger man puts her career at risk, but nothing really happens in that front, even though it’s a very real possibility.
The small town element is also mostly ignored when it could really put an end to that kind of forbidden relationship.
Looking for a very sexy book with real feelings? Look no further.

Sinful Distraction was a sweet, sensuous, romantic, erotic, and kinky read. I found this to be a more emotional read than others by London Hale. This author is on fire when writing books like these for she knows what women want to read and this is it!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
What happens when a lonely woman calls a stranger to talk and maybe have a few orgasms? Sinful Distraction is what you get. Lonely Mayor Kate (Kitten) just wants someone to talk to and let some stress go. She finds this is her weekly calls to Firefighter Riley (Banner). These two have an instant connection over the phone. They have formed something special. So special, that Riley has discover who is behind that sexy voice and decides to move home to make her his. When Kate finds out who Banner really is she is distraught. She is much older than he is and with her job being so important she feels she should stay away from hi, Riley does what he needs to make her his. These two embark on a secret relationship, until it is a good time to go public. I loved that these two formed their bond and relationship by talking over the phone to get to know one another first. To me this made them so much stronger. When they were together, their chemistry was off the charts. He brings out the wildness in her and she brings out the Alpha in him. All in all a fantastic story. I can't wait for the next one!!!
Não necessariamente tenho uma resposta, apenas good for thought.
✔️ Dual POVs (Kate x Riley) ✔️ Set in small town, USA ✔️ Open-door, contemporary romance (5/5 🌶️) ✔️ Tropes: Secret identity; small town romance
This was a nearly perfect novella. The author picks up the story after the two major characters have already had a longstanding, anonymous relationship over the phone — so you immediately get depth and connection. Then, it gets in-person and super sexy. Highly recommend picking this up while it’s on Kindle Unlimited!
"All it took was one woman to set Riley on his life course. Kate didn't know who she was talking to all of those times until Riley introduces himself to her and sets them both on a course of learning how to grow, love and let go of social ideals.
This was well written and it was a fun read as well. Can't wait for the next one. This is apart of a series, but is a standalone and I did not read the previous books and was not confused. "
I think that what used to work for me just doesn’t now and it’s kinda sad. I would have totally loved this book a couple of year ago. Now I read it and lose interest right away. I need the sexual tension to last waaaayyy longer. This “wham bam thank you ma’am”doesn’t isn’t cutting it. Although I will admit, the author does a decent job with the conflict element. As the reader you can understand why there could be issues with them starting a relationship. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
I can't stop won't stop reading these deliciously sinful stories. Though this one was not my favorite, I quite liked it. And I'm very much looking forward to the next one!
I know I’ve said it about the previous book, but this one takes the bank. It’s my favorite so far.
Ok, so take a young man, who’s life has always been unsure. He’s left his home town to try and find himself, his place in life. He’s always been close to his family, and now in his 20’s and in need of cash, whores himself out. Fine, whores himself is too blunt. He takes on a phone sex line and pleasures women. Or men.
Then take an accomplished woman, who’s never strayed from her life’s plan. She’s in her 40’s, she’s beautiful and she’s determined as hell. She’s also the mayor of Temperance Falls. This lady has little time to unwind, and when a her bestie suggests she’s overdue for a good lay, she takes the closest thing, a phone number for a phone sex service.
You can guess the rest.
Only you need to read this story, because guessing isn’t even close to all the hotness and the amazingness of this filthiness. After taking one call from Kate, Riley is hooked and will do whatever he can to make her his. In a very non-creepy way. I promise.
Riley and Kate are adorable. In a very smexy way. In a very naughty, lemony, frisky and totally unprofessional way. I love it!
Yup. Riley is Connor’s brother. Kate is Lola’s boss and Lara’s best friend. See how it all ties together?
Sinful Distraction has everything. I laughed, I felt a little horny, a lot jealous, I swooned, I worried (for a second there) and I got a complete plot in a very short story.
Grab these little books. They’re worth your late night sins, your early morning nookies and your escape from all of life’s heavy.
If you visit here regularly, you know I have become obsessed with Temperance Falls. Sinful Distraction was no exception to this and I absolutely adored Riley and Kate. Kate is a strong and successful woman and I loved her all the more for that. And I loved that this is exactly what Riley loved about her. So far, Temperance Falls has delivered two hot cops a DILF, a sexy doctor, a dirty pastor, and now we get a firefighter. THANK YOU LONDON HALE. Riley is beyond swoon and I loved him. I loved how he knew he wanted and loved Kate and just went for it without hesitation. I also loved that he was never intimidated by Kate’s strength or drive or job. Their chemistry was off the charts. And anyone who wanted to see the May/December trope flipped on its head with an older woman and a younger guy, this book is for you. Loved that dynamic and loved seeing that twist on this trope. This series has been so much fun and I’ve loved every second of it and I cannot wait until I can go back. These books are just so perfect when you need something short and sweet and super super dirty. They balance the sweet and the sexy so well and give you that swoony romance while also delivering the steam.
Quick and dirty. Older heroine (mayor) + younger hero (firefighter). And they met when she called a phone sex line; he's been taking only her calls every week since then.
A bit of a rushed ending, not going to lie, but oh well. I am definitely curious to read the books connected to this (his brother's, his coworkers, etc). *opens up AMZ*
Ok. I like the older woman/younger man trope, but get annoyed when the HEA includes a (whoops) baby. Seriously? In this day & age a woman isn’t complete unless she has a baby and a man? Otherwise, the chemistry is good between the two protagonists.
I'm not always a fan of May-December affair, but this ones so cut. From how they met til they got married and got pregnant.....the love that made them learn to compromise and adjust to each other.
This is my first trip to Temperance Falls, but I can tell that there’s never a dull moment on the island!
I’m a huge fan of older man/younger woman romances, but this one flipped the roles for me and I actually really enjoyed it. Riley was quite a bit younger than Kate, but he was mature enough that he’d outgrown the frat brother type stupidity and was starting to get his life together.
Kate’s life was completely together however. Everything had a place and everything was in its place. Right down to her weekly scheduled call with a phone sex operator named Banner, whom she’d grown to care for over the past year of calling him. His filthy mouth not only allowed her to let go for a few minutes and unwind completely, they also talked about regular everyday things and had gotten to know each other very well during their calls. Well, everything except their real names…supposedly.
Riley was able to figure out that Kate was the mayor of his home town, but he kept the fact that he knew her identity a secret until he could get his life together to be worthy of Kate's affections. When it was time to make his move, he had to thoughtfully approach her and reveal his identity without spooking her, as the basis of their trust was on total anonymity.
When Kate and Riley meet in “real life”, they quickly find that the same spark and chemistry that has been getting them off over the phone for over a year, is even hotter and more intense in person. The only problem is that Kate is in the middle of closing a huge business deal for the city and wants to keep their new relationship on the down low until the dust has settled. She’s not willing to risk her career for a man she’s just gotten to know over the phone.
Sneaking around soon gets tiresome though for the protective and somewhat possessive Riley and he wants Kate to bring their relationship out of the shadows. Will Kate be able to balance both work and pleasure or will she have to give up one of the loves of her life?
If you love dirty talk, then Riley is the book boyfriend for you! Considering how they built their relationship, there is a lot of phone time and he makes absolutely sure that Kate gets her money’s worth every time she calls. Riley’s a great mix of a sweet, young guy and an alpha with a filthy mouth! The best of both worlds. :)
I loved this book and I’ve already added the rest of the series to my wish list!
A quirky, fun, and incredibly sexy book to get you all warmed up, being distracted never felt so good…
Holy wow this was an amazing book! It’s unique storyline brought to life by an author who has an incredible talent for building tension, heat, and ultimately true love. As the mayor of Temperance Falls, Kate faces the challenges of her position as well as the added crux of being a woman. The last thing she needs is any kind of scandal to sully her reputation, or disrupt the changes she is trying to make to better her beloved town. That includes a relationship, no matter how much she wants it. Her friend offers her a perfect solution with a phone number, and the voice on the other end brings her unbelievable pleasure…and a connection she never saw coming. When the voice on the other end of the phone becomes a flesh and blood man that wants more than just weekly phone calls, Kate finds herself between a rock and a hard place. She wants him…more than anything…but she can’t let their relationship stand in the way of her job. Riley fell in love with the woman on the other end of his phone line. What started out as a way to make extra cash, became the path to true love for Riley. When he discovers that the woman he pines for is the mayor of his hometown, Riley makes the move home and begins to build his life anew. Determined to make her his in every way, he makes his dreams a reality…but can he protect her career while he wins her heart?
This book was so much fun! From the hot as sin cover, to the blurb that reels you in…this book was awesome. I was intrigued by the unique plot and storyline, which was executed in a way that made it fun, sweet, and full of heat. The characters held a realism and authenticity that made them even easier to love. Riley was such a sweet man with a heart the size of Texas, and a determination and strength that makes you weak in the knees. Kate was a strong woman, with a deep love for her hometown and a desire to make it the best it can be. Her determination, and strong will are inspiring and make her the woman you want to be. Their attraction is sizzling, and you root for them from the very beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and look forward to what Ms. Hale has for us next.
I love it when I get the opportunity to read a book by an author that is new to me, so I was keen to see what London Hale had to offer…and I was not disappointed. Sinful Distraction was anything but distraction, it was absorbing, totally engaging and romantic. I liked Riley and Kate, their story was one the kept me interested, what they were going through, the experiences that they were having and the way they handled them spoke volume to me and I thought that the author brought out everything I could have possibly wanted for this couple. I didn’t think I would but I really enjoyed the phone sex element of the story, whilst it wasn’t new, it certainly wasn’t run of the mill and that made it very interesting. I suppose it was the older woman/younger man situation that really flipped the situation on its head, it was a break from the norm. Kate Briscoe, is a successful woman, you don’t reach the position of being Mayor without stepping on a few toes but that is in her career, her love life is a different kettle of fish, she just wants a man to see past the job and see her for the woman she is and she is a fantastic woman. I had hope that she would get a man to treat her right, I just hadn’t foreseen that it would come in the shape of the delightful Riley. Riley has been conversing with Kate for almost a year but when they finally meet the connection is combustible! He is everything she has been waiting for and together they are the most perfect pair, the only issue…she has a problem with the age gap, I was hurling abuse at her through my kindle at this point, I mean come on woman what are you worried about the guy is potty about you, supports you in everything you do…he is a keeper and if she didn’t want him I was sure that there were many more who would have…But did she? Well that is for you to find out but I will say …you may need a fan they get pretty steamy on the phone! A super read, well written and descriptive…this is an author I will definitely read again.
Riley Nash is 26 years old and is a fireman as well as a phone sex operator. He has just moved back to his hometown of Temperance Falls and has the hots for the mayor, Kate Briscoe.
Kate Briscoe is 42 and the mayor of Temperance Falls. She has a tough job and no time for relationships and part of it is she is worried that she will be judged by those she is doing business with. But every Friday Kate has a date with her phone and a man who can make her hot with his words and voice.
When Riley sees an opportunity to let Kate know who he is he jumps on the chance but will he scare Kate off in the process?
This was a fun story that was super hot!!
I thought Riley was awesome and I loved how he truly really wanted Kate and had no cares about their age or what other people thought. He cared about Kate and wanted to treat her like a queen and how she deserved to be treated but he also had a tiny jealous side which created a couple of minor issues.
Kate was strong and had to be as mayor but she was so worried about what others thought that she didn't allow herself time to be happy. Even with the mall deal she wanted to sneak around instead of letting people know she was involved with someone.
I wasn't a huge fan of Colin and I really thought he was crossing the line with Kate.
The sex in this book was hot and I loved how everything turned out!!- By Rebecca
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book, Sinful Distraction by London Hale.
I was so looking forward to reading this book and it did NOT disappoint, in any way! Another excellent story from London. 6 so far and every single one has been awesome. This author is on fire when it comes to writing romance. The stories are filled with love, laughter, friendship, family, everyday struggles, and down to earth, lovable characters that you enjoy spending time with. Keep 'em coming London, so I can keep reading them, please.
Riley is not only crazy about a woman he has never met in person but he uprooted his entire life to move closer to her. Her being, Kate, mayor of Temperance Falls, Riley's home town, where his parents still live. They have spent the past, almost year talking on the phone through a phone sex company that Riley worked at. Naturally, Kate is freaked out when Riley walks up and introduces himself to her. She is scared about the possibility of people finding out and her political career being over. Can Riley convince Kate that she has nothing to fear and that they are meant to be together? Is Kate in danger of losing her job?
FINAL DECISION: The integration of the story, characters, and sex was my favorite of the series so far. There is some gentle angst and drama but also characters who already care for one another as the book opens.
THE STORY: For a year, Kitten and Banner have been having phone sex. But Riley Nash, who is Banner on the phone, knows what Kitten really is -- Mayor Kate Briscoe. Riley is a firefighter sixteen years younger than Kate. When Riley reveals his identity to Kate, she is shocked and also tempted.
OPINION: Kate and Riley are a great couple because their relationship is verbal as well as physical. The fact that the two have an existing relationship makes the emotional part of their relationship work better in this book. I liked the drama in this book that is age gap and also a professional woman worrying about how people view her. The story is very sexy and hot. Riley is adorable as he devotes himself to making Kate happy. This feels like a complete story.
WORTH MENTIONING: This is a novella of about 90 pages.
CONNECTED BOOKS: TALK DIRTY TO ME is the sixth book in the Temperance Falls series. The books take place in the same town but are only loosely connected so this book works as a standalone.
Kate is 44 and a successful and powerful businesswoman who is mayor Temperance Falls. In her past experience with men she has found that they have difficulty accepting her success so for the last year she has been resorting to a telephone service to help relieve the pressures of her life.
Riley is 26 and the man that has been on the other end of the phone and he feels a deep connection to her. When he takes the opportunity to move home to Temperance Falls as a new fire fighter he wants to become part of her life and not through the telephone.
Will Riley be able to convince Kate that they belong together or will she decide that their being together will damage her reputation as the mayor and a businesswoman?
I liked that this book was different as the woman was older and more successful than the man and their chemistry was intense. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Let me just say, I am gonna go invest in one of those toys...You always teach me summin summin. Didn't see the ending coming. And wait, is something going gong with Emery and big John? Whooo weee. Please tell me they got a story? Anywho, Riley and Kate 's story was fire. I love that their first hookup was at a lighthouse, considering I have a thing for those. And it was kinda romantic. He cut in a fireplace for her, there down some tarps. She couldn't be seen out. Or how about when he took her in the firehouse during the tour. The phone sex was hot too. Addictive actually. These two were explosive. But they had an age difference that the Mayor had to get over if this relationship was ever going to work. Riley was a younger built hot as he'll fireman to the older woman but he loved regardless and made sure she knew it. You really need to get this book.
This is the first book in the Temperance Falls series, in fact it's the first book by London Hale that I've read and after this I'll definitely be looking into her other work!
Sinful Distraction was a really good read. I loved the interaction between Riley & Kate and the fact that there was an age difference didn't come across - except when our heroine was uber-focused on it!
The phone sex was hot, Riley's determination, dirty talk and overall good guy vibe made me fall for him the more I read. I liked Kate but wished she could've been a little less worried about everyone's thoughts and views.... gods, let's face it, if it had been the other way round age wise everyone would have been patting him on the back for nabbing himself a young hottie....
Read in a day, Sinful Distraction kept me interested and engaged with the pair and I loved the ending!!
4.5* for this really good story. * * I received a copy of the book for an honest review
