People say you can't fall in love in high school,
But I did.
As soon as I saw it, touched it, heard it,
I was in love.
And we make beautiful music together.
Yeah, my electric guitar and I.

When I finally get my chance, my big break,
I go all out, proving that I'm born to play,
Born to perform,
Born to rock.

And then I meet him,
Rock star CJ Slavin,
And everything just gets clearer.
The music finally makes sense
And means so much more.
This is one riff that I never want to end.

Oh to be starting out on the journey of life again at the tender age of 16. All that anticipation, promise, hope, determination and of course….. sex! Welcome to the life of Kyle Summers as she tells the story of her life leading up to the formation of The Vagabonds, an all girl band set to turn the world upside down.

I knew when Jade C Jamison said this story was going to be about an all girl band that I needed to read this book and I wasn’t disappointed. The story sets out at a steady pace and book one simply sets the scene for the rest of the series as The Vagabonds head out for their first tour. My only difficulty with reading this story where the numerous music references; I definitely need to do some homework before reading on!

We meet Kyle Summers, and her parents, as she tells us about her nomadic lifestyle before she finally settles in one place and starts to experience the highs and lows of high school. One definitely high in her school life is Decker. Interest piqued by Kyle when he sees her fielding her guitar at a school talent show, the duo soon become romantically involved as they seek an outlet for their raging teenage hormones.

Much of this first instalment was about Kyle and her relationship with her parents and her sexual awakening with Decker but as the story progresses, and she is offered a position with a new all girl group later to become known as The Vagabonds, we get to witness her musical journey. With the coming together of teenage girls there is some angst but the group soon become friends, perhaps with the exception of the diva-like lead singer, Barbie. We have Liz, the starting point of the group and song-writer extraordinaire who lives a wealthy lifestyle but definitely with a story to tell. Then we meet Kelly, on bass, Vicki, a talented drummer, and the group is complete. They soon become close friends and excited to be thrust into a lifestyle they had only previously dreamt about. From laying down tracks in a recording studio, to filming videos, the girls enter into a maelstrom of life changing experiences.

One such life changing experience for Kyle comes in the form of CJ Slavin, a musician who is brought in to assist in the studio. It’s soon apparent that CJ and Kyle have a connection but as she is only just 17 to his 21 years they have to fight their feelings for one another, but reading between the lines we look set for some explosive encounters in future instalments.

Told very much from the first person, and almost as a narration of the story of her life to date, Kyle sets the scene for the next stage of The Vagabond experience. You can bet there will be drama, sexiness and heartbreak along the way, all in the name of rock ‘n’ roll!

As soon as I read the dedication to heavy rock matriarch, Lita Ford, I just knew Jade meant business with this baby, and Kyle Summers' initiation into the musical world of rock was a journey that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

Kyle Summers is a girl with a passion. Her love of music one that has been with her for as long as she can remember. A daughter of two free-spirited parents whom spent many years travelling when she was young; schooling on the road didn't make way for many friendships. Kyle's guitar became more than an instrument, it became her companion, her confidente and her best friend. Self taught, she soon becomes well versed with the works of some of her favourite bands and a talent contest at her high school one evening, changes everything.

Vagabonds: On The Run is a coming of age musical journey written in the form of a personal autobiography. From parental break ups, to first love, heartbreak and new friendships, Kyle's story is far from lacklustre as she puts her needs and desires at the forefront at a very difficult time, proving that she may be young, but a woman with dedicated focus and passion that surpassed her years.

This is the first book in the Vagabonds story - a 'how it all began,' tale that had me turning the pages with relish and I'm very much looking forward to book two, to see where Kyle and her new band members go from here.

YES!YES!YES! I was just complaining on Facebook the other day that I needed a book with a little more UMPH! I GOT IT!! Jade C. Jamison did a FANTASTIC job on this book!! This book did not NEED the sex in order to make the story! I was very impressed with Jade’s writing, and her ability to SUCK ME IN! She laid the ground work out VERY well for this series! I cannot WAIT to read more!!

I loved Kyle! I fell in love with her from the start! I can’t wait to see what adventures Jade takes this girl down!

**spoilers (Kinda) — Thank you Jade for writing about a girl who loses her virginity and actually FEELS the pain – like real life – Thank you for writing a story about the guy falling asleep afterwords – like real life – Thank you for writing a book where the first time is not over and over and over again in the same night because lord o’ mighty we may all WISH that happened but we all know it doesn’t either**

This was a very realistic book – I felt like I was reading the biography of Joan Jett or Lzzy Hale – It was AMAZING!!

Let’s go Queen of Rock N Roll! Give your fans what they crave! I need the follow up album. I seriously feel lost now that I’m at the end of Book 1!!!

I love Jades book! Pardon my typing I am on my phone on lunch. My real review will be out tonight when I get home.

In this book we Kyle she is a young in a small town of Colorado who did not grow up like the rest of us. She moved around didn't really have friends just her guitar. Which benefits her well, she does the school tablet show and everything changes for her.
Right after the talent school Kyle finds herself talking to the quarter back of the football team and soon he is her boyfriend. All of this is new Kyle but she is loving every minute of it. When summer hits she finds even more good luck outside of home. She gets a phone call from a random number and this changes her entire future........
She drives up Pueblo and tries out and becomes part of the next up coming band. But as well know nothing comes easy and everything can change in the blink of an eye.
This is proven to be true for Kyle. She has to make choices of an adult, though this isn't hard for her as she knows what she's always wanted to do it is hard on the people around her.

On The Run is Kyle Summers story and written in her POV.

Kyle has grown up with laid back hippy parents and lived the normadic lifestyle, she's traveled and been homeschooled.

I found it to be slow paced at the start as there was a lot of Kyle's background story, but it soon picked up the pace when she is offered a position in the all girl group soon to become Vagabonds.

I really liked Kyle she was a good strong willed character and had a no nonsense attitude going on, didn't suffer fools lightly, I found this refreshing.

We have a behind the scenes of what it takes to be in a all girl rock band from forming friendships, making music, love, life and all the hype that surrounds it.

On The Run is extremely well written, character development is spot on and I can't wait to read the next installment.

What I wouldn't give for a childhood like Kyle Summers. Homeschooled, traveling around with "hippie" parents, free to be, until they settle down and she discovers the guitar and her gift for music. And then boys. And then the music industry discovers her. Is this teenager ready for all that the music industry entails.?

This book is the beginning of Kyle's story, her roots in the music industry. Her character is being developed, both as a person by her experiences and by the author ( who does a great job). I am emotionally invested in the character and the story. The author has set herself up for the sequel by leaving the reader wanting more More MORE. I can't wait for the next book.

Yahhhh another rock romance series and not just any series this one is written by the queen of rock romance, Jade C. Jameson. When her named is linked to a book you know it’s going to be good and this first book about the newly formed all girl rock band the Vagabonds, does not disappoint.

On The Run is about a 16-year old, with a kickass name of Kyle Summers, who is a genius when it comes to the electric guitar and knows how to rock out to her favorite music. It tells you of her childhood and hippie parents who realize that it’s in Kyle’s best interest to finally settle down in one place so Kyle can gain some friends and attend a regular high school. Nothing is harder for an “outsider” to come to a small school and try to fit in. The great thing about Kyle is that she can be everyone’s friend, just not a “best” friend. She doesn’t need that attachment because her first love is her guitar.

Her high school holds a talent contest and she decides to try out for it even though she is sure that not many people will find the same love for hard rock as what she does. Kyle is not one to back down so she pulls various guitar riffs from rock greats and puts together her act. The night of the performance Kyle puts her heart and soul into her performance and is surprised to not see her parents in the audience and even a bigger surprise is all of the compliments she is getting for her stellar performance. Nobody knew that Kyle had that in her and she does deserve all the praise she receives because this girl practices all the time and it’s not just that she practices her craft; she lives and loves playing the guitar. The guitar is Kyle Summers.

When cute football player, Decker, takes notice of Kyle and her talents he asks her to a party that all of the kids are heading out to. She declines at first but when returning home she finds out why her parents never made it to her big important night. They had been home this whole time fighting and then tell Kyle that they are splitting up. Kyle is thrown for a loop and ends up at the party after all. Decker is more than happy to see Kyle show up and after Kyle gets the drift that Decker wants to really “get to know” her, things really start to change in her life. Kyle has now found another pastime that she loves to do besides playing her guitar…sex and lots of it.

Decker is not the only one to have taken notice in Kyle because someone keeps calling her after her performance without leaving a message. Finally after getting tons of missed calls she finally answers and this is the beginning of her dreams coming true. It’s a music producer and he wants her to try out for an all-girl rock band. I loved to see how a band is actually formed and everything that it took to get this off the ground. Kyle meshes with all the girls except for their lead singer, Barbie. I know, right? Anyone named Barbie would have to be a pain. (Sorry for those of you with actually that name...no disrespect) During this time Decker has fallen by the wayside especially with Kyle beginning a tour in the near future which actually worked out pretty good because CJ has come into Kyle’s life. CJ is in an up and coming band and he was there to help the girls fine tune their first CD. I cannot wait to see what transpires between CJ and Kyle. They have the makings for some pretty hot storylines.

So now I patiently wait for the next book to come out in this series and all I know is it won’t be fast enough because this is the beginning of something really, really good!! Also, kudos to the dedication to Lita Ford also and to the mention of various rock women who have paved the way for females to follow their dreams in the male dominant world of rock.

ARC received for an honest review

On The Run is the first book in this new series from Ms Jamison. Although it will feel a bit like a NA book, it isn't.

We all have our favourite band or rock star, but how many of us really know how they got their start?

On The Run is a look at how Kyle and her fellow members of their all girl rock band the Vagabonds got their start.

I liked Kyle right from the get go. She is a bad ass rock chick who takes no crap from anybody - I think we could be best friends! No matter who they are, friend or foe, she is a straight talker who tells is like she sees it.

This installment of the series follows her from pre-teen guitar prodigy to starting her band. We see the trials and tribulations of a teen girl - first loves, first heartbreaks, first everythings.

The story is mostly told in the past tense, but we also get some of present time Kyle, looking back at her start in the career she has always wanted.

Ms Jamison has a knack for writing rock stars and strong women. Put the two together and it is always going to be a cracker of a book. She does not gloss over the bad parts of the life. We get their story, warts and all. She draws you right into their world and it is like you are living the journey with the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting into teen-Kyle's head, and can't wait for more of the Vagabonds story.

On the Run by Jade C. Jamison is her first book in the new series Vagabonds and it starts off really good. Kyle is a young girl we first meet when she is being home schooled by her mom and dad, and and living all over the country never staying anywhere for too long. Her parents grew up in the 80"s together and had that hippie mindset! She finally gets to go to high school, and her parents settle in Colorado so she can go to the same school for the next few years. Her father starts teaching at a college, and her mother starts teaching music lessons. It is during this time that she discovers that she wants to play the guitar and it becomes her first and most important love always- she is 16 years old and lives for her electric guitar! After school every day she plays and then after dinner as well sometimes. She lives and breathes heavy metal music.

Kyle decides to enter a talent contest at school, even though she does not know what people will make of her music-she plays metal- hard core metal after all and she shreds on her guitar on a daily basis, so needless to say she is bad! After coming home from the talent contest her life has changed drastically-her mom and dad split up. This is a hard thing for her but she just keeps playing her guitar getting better and better making up her own music.

Then she meets a young man at school who is in the popular group, but after seeing her at the talent contest he wants to get to know her. His name is Decker and he is on the football team. He really likes Kyle and they finally start having sex and she discovers her second love in life!

During this time she keeps getting phone calls from a number she does not know, but finally she answers it and it is a music producer and he is putting together an all girl rock band and wants her to come audition. Beyond excited Kyle goes and after meeting the girls and practicing with them their new band comes together -The Vagabonds! Kyle is excited as this is her dream, and they finally get a record produced and get ready to go out on the road. During the time of their being in the studio the girls all bond well except for Barbie the lead singer and a real "winner" but every band has one. Kyle also meets CJ a fellow rocker just getting ready to go on tour with his band and although he likes Kyle a lot will not cross that line with her of having sex until she is 18, which really upsets Kyle, but in the end he promises her in a song next summer -look out! Off the girls go at the end of the book, and while excited as all get out Kyle wonders if they will be able to make it or not with all the small problems that start building up. Kyle also breaks up with Decker and feels a little hurt when she is on her way to practice the next day and he is sitting in the park with someone new.

I look forward to reading part 2, and I know that it will be every bit as good as this first one! It was nice to start this series that tells what it is like as a young woman to be in a band, instead of the typical stories of male rockers!

I gave this book 5***** metallic stars and look forward to the rest of the books in this series!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I love Jade's books especially her rocker books so you can imagine my excitement when I found out she was releasing an all female rocker book. This is a great start to what seems to be a wonderful series.

Kyle grew up traveling with her parents and being home schooled. However, they layed down roots long enough for Kyle to attend high school. Things were going well she had her first moment to shine at her school talent show and met Decker but that is the same night her family fell apart. Her parents were separating. She threw herself into her music and ended up getting a deal to play in an all girl band.

Some of the girls in the band you love others you love to hate. I loved the friendship that Kyle and Vicki right from the start. I'm still not sure about Liz she is starting to grow on me but still have reservations. I did not like Barbie from the beginning and I'm not sure that will ever change. The manager, Peter, is demanding, very hard on the girls and can be cruel at times. We see Kyle deal with the relationship with Decker the jock, the drama with the band and manager, and finding her perfect man, CJ.

I am waiting for book two to come out I need to know what is going to happen with the band, the girls, and do Kyle and CJ make something work or will everything crumble at Kyle's feet.

A few of my favorites:

From the moment my mother had begun instructing me, I took to that damn thing like a baby takes to her mother’s breast.  I latched on and fed from it.  That guitar was an extension of what was on the inside.

A guy like Decker…yeah, he should have been pouncing on all the little cheerleader types around the fire—the girls with manicured nails, curled hair, and cute shoes.  Instead, his arm was around me.  Me.  I was the girl with long, straight brown hair, brown eyes, and just a little makeup.  I had black nail polish and, as I said before, those nails were short so I could shred on guitar.  No cute shoes, just black army boots.  No adorable skirts or lacy blouses—blue jeans with a rip over the right knee and a rock-and-roll t-shirt.

I wasn’t used to being treated like a lady, but I was happy to try it on for size.

“And I’ve got your name too.”  His voice got loud and lilty.  “I now dub thee the Vagabonds.” Vicki couldn’t keep her lips zipped.  “The Vagabonds?  What the fuck kind of name is that?” His face remained unchanged—it was always neutral.  I didn’t know how he did that.  His face was like ice, his voice calm, and yet I could feel the power in his words, the threat.  “It’s the name that’s going to make you a worldwide rock star.  Are you okay with that?”

First in a three part series, detailing the escapades of the Vagabonds, an all-girl band.
This is Kyle’s story and told from her POV it is a warts and all exposé of her life, so far and she has certainly packed plenty in to her 17 years.
Playing lead guitar with the band is what she was put on this planet to do, it is her absolute passion and along with Barbie, Liz, Kelly and Vicki they are working their butts off to make it in a world where they refuse to be the side show, the cute attraction, the support act, these five young woman are about to show the music industry what they think of their misconceptions!
I liked that we got the whole story of the girls, not the edited highlights, the fight they go through to get their music heard and the hoops they have to jump through to get a shot at being what they want to be.
It was an eye opener into the world of entertainment and I can only imagine how difficult it is being a woman trying to undertake what is generally perceived as being a male bastion.
Kyle doesn’t suffer fools, she has no time for frivolities and has a complete anti bulls**t magnet going on, cross her at your peril.
She is a strong, determined and extremely capable young woman with an absolute determination to succeed and that in any walk of life is a powerful way to live.
Her evolution into the band is a strong part of the story and it was a really first class piece of writing, it gave her backbone, grit and showed the heart she had for the path she had taken.
But her life wasn’t all about the band, we also get to see how her life outside the band unfolds, the relationship that she had with Decker and what happened to make them part way, I mean she knew in her heart that he wasn’t the one for her but they had been good together and Decker was a good guy, We also see how she copes when her parents separate, and that is never an easy time for anybody – let alone a teenager on the brink of stardom.
But when she is introduced to CJ – which all important spark takes hold and the next 12 months are going to prove, very interesting.
CJ is in another band but the chemistry between him and Kyle is off the charts, he has one reason to keep himself in check and that is the fact that Kyle is only 17 and he has no intension of playing with the heart and mind of a juvvie.
I liked the other girls, well I say liked – what I mean is I am intrigued.
I’m really not too sure about Barbie – she is my marmite character so far – I could take her or leave her to be honest. But I really want some more of Vicki’s story, she has me especially puzzled but in a good way.
A great start to what I am sure will be another Jamison classic series.

ARC PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

On The Run is the first book in a three part series entitled, The Vagabonds, by Jade C. Jamison. It chronicles the life, and the rise and fall of the Vagabonds as a band, and Kyle Summers, the narrator of the book, and the lead guitarist for the Vagabonds. The Prologue to On The Run catches your attention and sets up the telling of the story, which begins with Kyle Summers as a 15/16 year old girl, and takes us basically on a day-to-day journey.

I have seriously struggled with my rating for this one. I absolutely love Jade C. Jamison's books, especially her Bullet series, if you have not read that series you are missing out on a fantastic and emotional ride. However, the first book in the Vagabond series, On The Run, did not capture my emotions or attention the way the Bullet series did. This one was just an OK read for me. Please understand that the book is extremely well written and the characters are well developed and complex to say the least, but something was missing for me with this one. It may have been the way the story was told, the almost diary-like telling of the story, starting from when Kyle Summers was a young kid and moving forward, but not by much. I think that, mostly it was because, I was unable to connect with the main character, Kyle Summers, the narrator of the story, and since we spend all of the story in her head it was an average read for me. Since the entire book is written from Kyle's point of view, the vast majority of the book is internal dialogue without there being a lot of actual dialogue between the characters, and there were many instances were actual dialogue was needed. I just wanted more dialogue that was not coated by Kyle's thoughts, especially since there are so many characters introduced in the story, namely Kyle's band mates, Liz, the lyrist and rhythmic guitarist, Kelly, the bass player, Vicki, the drummer, and Barbie, the lead singer.

Having said that, this is the beginning of the series and Jade C. Jamison is laying the foundation for what should take off and turn into an extremely well written and exciting rollercoaster of a story, written as only Jade C. Jamison can write. I know that I will continue to read the story of The Vagabonds, so that I can see the progression of this all girls rock band.

I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for On the Run (Vagabonds, #1) since Jade C. Jamison announced she was starting to write it. No one writes rock-n-roll and romance like Jade. Her Bullet series is still in my top five favorite series, and after reading book one of Vagabonds, I know this will be in that list as well. Again, I was blown away with Jade’s ability to grab me immediately and suck me into the literary world she has created and leave me begging for more.
Book one sets the stage for the rest of this series by introducing us to Kyle Summers. We learn of her early life on the road with her free-spirited parents who didn’t set down roots until Kyle’s mid-teens. Kyle’s first love was, and will always be, her guitar and music. It is her be-all and end-all of life. Deciding to try out for and preform in the school’s talent show earns her the interest of Decker. They quickly become romantically involved and Kyle learns sex is a great coping mechanism when life at home hits a snag.
Not only did the talent show pique the interest of Decker, but also Peter Cyrus who wants Kyle to be a part of his all-girl rock band he is creating. Now the fun begins. We met her new band mates; Liz-the lyricist and rhythm guitar, Vicki-drums, Kelly-bassist, and Barbie-lead vocalist. What a mix of personalities these young women are. We get a glimpse of the inner workings of a new band, from the early personality clashes, writing and laying down tracks, making videos, and the start of their first road tour.
During the writing/recording session we are introduced to CJ Slavin from Death Crunch. The chemistry between him and Kyle is off the charts. He is 21 to her 17 and he knows he has to wait another year to act on it. I can only imagine what Jade has in store for us during this upcoming year.
This book is extremely well-written with complex and well-developed characters that I want to know more about and I look forward to all of their stories.
Jade can write the sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll world like no other…hello have you read the Bullet Series? I can’t imagine what life with the Vagabonds will do to my heart, but I can tell you this, I am more excited for this roller-coaster ride than I have been for any release this year.

Vagabonds by Jade Jamison

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
AHHHH This book is amazing. Ok yeah I know you won’t just one-click it based off that statement but trust me it’s a great read. One of the things I love about this books is the angst and the Young Adult feel of it…trust me it’s not a YA novel but the books starts with the girls in high school, dealing with the drama and life of being a teen. Kyle is a bit of an outsider but after a school talent show she gets some attention from high school jock Decker. Now Decker is a good guy BUT he is not THE ONE. He is the typical jock who wants his woman to be in the stands when he plays ball. However, Kyle has dreams to be a rocker and that means not sitting in the stands watching her boyfriend. Kyle gets a once in a lifetime chance to be in a band and she jumps. We meet the girls and either love them (Vicki) or hate them (Barbie). We get to meet the producer and do not like him at all but he does what needs to be done to get these girls ready.
Seige/CJ/Chuck..holy hotness…yes ladies he is “the one” for our Kyle. He makes butter melt what it’s in the freezer with his seduction. We see stubborn Kyle not happy that she can’t have him but we are so excited to see what is in store for them in one more summer….eeep…..
Ky’s life is shaped by her up growing. Her parents are hippies but suddenly grow roots for her. Their happy go lucky family life is destroyed by one parents action and then by the other ones rebound actions. This heart break will shape our young character and force her to harden her heart allowing her to make assumptions when she shouldn’t. Her parents dysfunctional relationship will be a bad role modeling that Ky will assume all relationships will be like especially after everything with Decker and even Seige.
The books doesn’t leave us with a cliff hanger but definitely a need to read book 2 when it releases as the girl just released a single and are beginning a tour!!! Their dreams are just starting to be realized and their journey is just starting.

In true Jade fashion, she has wrote a book in a new series that I really enjoyed! On The Run is book 1 of a 3 part series that is about an all girl band called the Vagabonds. If you like Jade's other books (especially Bullet) then you will have no trouble loving this one!!

One The Run is Kyle's story. Kyle Summers is the lead guitarist in the band The Vagabonds. We are introduced to all of her band mates, Barbie, Liz, Vicki and Kelly. OTR is told from Kyle's POV and captures all the ups and downs they encounter as a band. To read a "Rock Band" book that shows and highlights how they got their start was kinda refreshing for me because not many authors tell the story from the main beginning.

Kyle has an attitude that's alot like mine and I think that's why I related to her so much (lol). She doesn't take sh*t from anyone and that's my favorite type of female lead character I love to read about! We follow her from her earlier year's and watch as she unfolds into the lead guitarist. We get to watch her grow through her first dating experience with Decker, the divorce of her parents and trying to make it famous with the Vagabonds.

I LOVED reading a book about an all girl band (this was my first) and I can't wait to see how the story unravels. I love Kyle and CJ and I am totally invested in their story but I must admit, Barbie has caught my attention!! You will be doing yourself a huge injustice if you don't pick up this book!! I love Jade C Jamison and have read every book she has written! Her writing style is unique and I find myself counting down the days each and every time she has a new release! Book 2 can not get here soon enough!! I am officially a "Vagabonds Groupie"

Wow...and YES!!! If the Nicki Sosebee series and the Bullet boys had a baby, I think this would be the result. I have always been a huge fan of Jamison's work, whether she wrote about a naughty, sexy reporter and her bedroom antics or about a hot young rock band with a lot of angst and serious problems.
On the Run is the start of another really cool series, but this time about a young girl who always had a bigger love and passion for her music than anything else...and would do almost anything to make it her life's work. Kyle is recruited by what could only be described as a "somewhat sleazy man of questionable character" and when she is picked to be in an all girl band with hopes of touring and becoming the next big thing, it only takes persuading her parents to let her go and live her dreams.
This first book mostly deals with a "young" Kyle and the rough start of what promises to be a richly rewarding career...but there's always a price to pay for instant fame and stardom is not always what you think it will be at all...someone always wants a bigger piece of the pie than they deserve.
I really loved this first book (even though I found it a bit tamer than Jamison's usual fare) and I know she will definitely amp things up a notch as Kyle gets older and dives into what either could be the thing that lets her achieve her wildest dreams or breaks her spirit in the end.
Awesome family drama with a lot of rocking heart and soul.

Thanks for the opportunity in reading the start of this new series, Vagabonds.
It’s going to be a trilogy, we are getting to grips with the band members, firstly, we meet Kyle, an only Child to her parents who are a laid back couple. She spent most of her youth living a nomadic life, she has a deep passion for the guitar, playing with such a pave and skill a teenager shouldn’t be able to.

Kyle tells the story from her perspective, we learn how as a teenager, her life goes from carefree teen to troubled young lady. We get to experience lots of her ‘firsts’ her dreams, life changing monumental moments.

She takes part in a School talent show, and we meet her boyfriend Decker, who sounds wonderful. But it appears they are both using each other as they discover their sexual feelings.

Their first times were about getting it over and done with and son it was just Decker being satisfied and Kyle soon learns there is more to it, and experiments, and thy begin to learn there is more than just intercourse.

We learn how Kyle deals with her parents’ infidelity, and then her joining a band who appear to be on their way to bigger things. We get to experience all the first rehearsals, the recording and the start of what life as Rock stars is about. I really thought the girls gelled really well, and that Peter, the producer was an ass. But he did seem to know his stuff.

Their first record and video, sounded so exhausting but the girls rocked on, they were troopers.
I am looking forward to seeing how the girls grow, and how Kyle and CJ develops.

She lived her young life travelling with her parents and being home schooled before setting down roots. She has her first bf and exeriences many new things with him. Kyle loves music. More importantly she loves to play guitar. Her talent leads a manager her way and he wants her to be part of an all girl band.
The story moves at a fast pace from Kyle being a young girl to her being 17 and in a new band. She experiences love and lust, new friendships and various personalities. I can't wait to see the characters develop and grow. I'm also looking forward to see how Kyle and CJ's 'friendship' develops.
I loved all the bands references that brought back some fond memories and had me going to youtube to listen to them. I usually don't read series when all the books aren't released but I'm glad I started this journey with Kyle and the Vagabonds. Book two can't come soon enough!!
Note: If you don't like sex, drinking, smoking....the typial teenage stuff...then this book/series might not be for you. Also this book starts off like a YA book but you quickly see it's more NA(?) so don't let it put you off.
Also I tended to call Kyle by her middle name when reading. My son's name is Kyler, his nickname Ky, he's in the age bracket and he plays/loves guita. I had to do something that would allow me not to associate him with the lead character, lol.
This book was gifted to me for an honest review. Thank you.

Love me some rock n roll…Jade C. Jamison style, and she’s sucked me in once again, with the story of the all girls band, Vagabonds. We’re introduced to Kyle Summers, who has basically been the “outcast rock chick who plays guitar” since she was a kid. Living with free spirited parents who travel around, she’s never really made friends, but that doesn’t deter her from what she really wants; and that’s to be a guitar god.

Her family finally settles in one place, but with it comes drama and unexpected secrets that are revealed, which tear her seemingly happy family apart. This brings out the sass and rebellion in Kyle, and we see just how much music means to her, and becomes her lifeline.

Slowly, we see the Vagabonds develop, and get a glimpse into the lives of the other girls, who all have their own attitudes and style. Peter their manager (who I might add is a total douche bag), promises them big things, and may just deliver!

Jade is known for her rock n roll stories, but this one is completely refreshing, and starts off with a younger group, but through the series we will see them grow into their own, and become the goddesses of rock they were destined to be! I’m super excited to take the Vagabonds journey and needless to say, I’ve already got a crush on our little hottie CJ, who’s the guitarist for a rival band, so you don’t want to miss the sexiness he’s sure to bring to the table.

So first I liked it didn't love it but was in really big like with this book.
First Kyle as a first name for a girl totally cool might not be conventional but it worked.
Getting to be home schooled and travel at such a young age that's like every kids dream. Or I would hope so it was mine.
Then getting to go to public school right when you do need friends and get to kind of fine your self.
And boy howdy does she find her passion, music and the girl can rock out.
Her parents where supportive if not a bit stand offish to me it seemed that way.
Also I have to say thank god it was real if you read the book you know what I am talking about. Losing ones virginity is not painless and it was good to see real life come in to this book. I know books are books and all that but when I read a book I want to feel like it could be real you know.
Also I liked how she was her true self from the beginning and stayed that way through the book I hate reading about a strong female who goes wimpy it ruins it for me and that was not the case with Kyle. If anything I found she grew stronger as a character.

I did feel the story was a little long in some parts took a but to get me hooked and maybe that's why it was only like and not love but I am invested now and I want no scratch that I NEED book 2.

So thank you to Jade C. Jamison for allowing me the privilege of reading book 1 for free that totally rocked.

Book: Vagabonds on the run
Author:

Stars: 4

**** I RECEIVED THIS BOOK IN RETURN FOR MY HONEST OPINION****
Having a boy’s name and having free spirited Hippies as parents Kyle had it rough. She was home schooled or road schooled for a while. Then she finally settled down in California. During the road schooling she fell in love with music, so much so she could play the guitar. Her sophomore year she was playing a mix of things. She audition for the school talent show and sure enough she got in, but had had doubts that she was that good. After the talent show her life would change in so many ways. She meets Decker and then her father leaves. Kyle and Decker go on a whirl wind romance. She loses her virginity to him and soon after summer break a man named Peter came up to her asking her if she wanted to go into an all-girls rock band, She said yes. This is where Vagabonds was born. Through this all her parents found each other and got back together. During this time she and Decker break up and in walks CJ.
This book was a great way to introduce you to how the band was made. But the question remains who will end up with Kyle? Will it be Decker or CJ? I really liked this book and I would like to read the remaining books to learn more about what happens to the characters.

On the Run: (Vagabonds Book 1)

Five Shiny Stars.

Vagabonds follows the story of Kyle Summers on her rise to fame and fortune.

We first meet Kyle when she's very young. She's a good girl with a seemingly idyllic life on the road with her parents, never settling in one place for long. That is until her parents decide they need to settle so she can make friends and go to school like a regular kid. It was then that Kyle discovered her love for the guitar, and the rest as they say is history!

Music is her whole world, that becomes so clear throughout the book and I can't wait to see where it will take her in the next two.

Home life becomes strained along the way and Kyle learns some pretty tough lessons that ultimately alter her in ways that probably help and hinder in different ways. She definitely developed her rocking rebel attitude around this time!

We also get our first glimpses of what life will be like in the band with her manager Peter and four band mates, Liz, Vicky, Kelly and Barbie and wd also meet CJ, who Is definitely drool worthy. I can't wait to read more.
I would recommend this book to anyone and can't wait to dive straight into book two.

Review
5 Gibson Guitars

This book was so good. I could not put it down. When I finished it, I felt a huge let down. Thank goodness I will be reading book 2, On the Road soon. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Kyle and her band mates.
Kyle is raised by her hippy parents living on the road until high school. That is when her parents finally settled down and put down roots in a small college town. Even though Kyle never attended a formal school before, she was able to make friends, but she never seemed to fit in. Her mother was a music teacher and taught her how to play the guitar. Kyle was a natural and soon started teaching herself the stylings of her favorite bands. After her high school talent show, she is contacted to become part of a band.
Kyle is a rocker, she loves a strong head banging beat. We watch her as she explores her sexuality with her first boyfriend and asserts her independence. So far I love this character, she is strong and doesn’t back down. She holds her head high and tries to take the high road in most situations.

Vagabond : noun, A person who moves from place to place without a permanent home.

I just finished Vagabonds, On The Run and I really enjoyed this! This is a new series for Jade and I couldn't wait to just gobble this up! This story revolves around Kyle Summers and how Vagabonds was made. It starts out to me with an awesome prologue. It pulled me in from the get go and I just had to know her story. This gives us insight into how things were for Kyle, how she grew up and where she is now once we . She is one strong kick-ass character. She is a strong 16 year old girl that just wants to play her guitar. This is how she copes, what she breathes, this is where the magic happens. I was just amazed at how talented she was portrayed. Jade really put me into the story where I could just close my eyes an hear the riffs that Kyle played. I felt like I was there when she let people see what she could really do. She is one strong character that is only going to get stronger as we follow along and I cannot wait to see what happens!

On The Run is the first book in the Vagabond Series and I really enjoyed it. I felt that this book was the character building book so that we could look into the lives of the girls in this rocker series with Kyle Summers as the main character. The 5 girls that form the band called Vagabonds are Kyle, Vicki, Kelly, Liz, and Barbie. This story is kind of a coming of age. The girls are around 16-17 years old. In high school and getting ready to tour with their band.

I think this book started off slow but, picked up towards the end and I can’t wait to read On the Road which fortunately is out already for the ones that want to read this series.

And, lastly you really mentioned Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden! I loved & read those books when I was a teenager, Trixie Belden was my favorite.

I was gifted a copy of On the Run for an honest review and I give this book 4 stars. I am really looking forward to starting On the Road which I will do immediately!

On the Run is the first book in the "Vagabonds" adult Rock star romance series from Jade C. Jamison.

I love reading rock star romance and I really enjoyed this one.
Kyle Summers loves rock music and decides to enter a talent contest at her high school. After the contest her life starts to go in all sorts of directions.
She finds that her parents are splitting which pushes her into accepting a party invite by Decker. Besides music Kyle discovers she also really enjoys sex.
As things move forward for Kyle she gets a call from a music producer who wants her to join an all girl group.
Kyle ends up meeting CJ a member of another new band, he helps the girls with their music. Sparks seem to be flying and I can't wait to see what may transpire between Kyle and CJ. What will happen with decker?

Reading this book brought lots of great memories back from the ladies in rock from the 80's. Thank you for a great read Jade and I can't wait until book #2.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

The moment Kyle Sommers held a guitar she knew that she was destined to become a rock star. She took to the guitar and was really kick ass. After showcasing her skills at her school’s talent show, Kyle gets noticed by Decker. Not her type but having hormones the two begin hanging out and exploring one another. Then one day Kyle gets the call that will change everything.

This book is a coming of age story. Kyle is smack dab in the middle of puberty and on top of that is struggling with issues at home. She also is dealing with things like drugs and alcohol. Speed bumps on her road to stardom. I love rock and roll and reading this book was a delight! Especially the mention of one my favorite guitar players Tom Keifer. I can’t wait to read the next one and see how Kyle’s journey is going. I give this 5 stars

I do not honestly think I have ever read a book by Jade C. Jamison that has not been 5 stars! Kyle Summers is a bad ass who knows how to rock! Kyle (Yes you read that right, Kyle) at age 16 was use to moving around and moving where ever the wind took her family! They finally settled in Colorado, where Kyle finally went to school (she was home schooled before) and tried out for the talent show! She wanted to share her passion with everyone but little did she know everything that came with being seen. Kyle gets lost of phone calls from an unknown number which she typically ignores but one day she answers and the call turns her world up side down! It is how the Vagabonds is born! I mean what more could anyone want then being in a girl bad with 4 other girls? I am looking forward to starting book 2!
