Time is nothing more than the illusion that you have buried your skeletons deeper than the next person. The mistake that is most commonly made is forgetting one thing; Aspen doesn’t care how deep the bodies are buried - she will find you and she will kill you. The only question that they should be asking themselves is, ‘When?”
Blinding emotion is the one thing that separates Aspen from her victims. She has given them a choice; a chance to make it right. She has rules, she has boundaries and now she is running out of time. After allowing Ethan to escape with a new set of rules, Aspen finds herself caught between finishing what she started and starting what needs to be finished.
~ Tracy created a monster. ~ Preston follows no rules. ~ Ethan is pissed off and ready to fight.
Three different men with three different reasons to die. They will pay for the mistakes that they made and Aspen will collect… when she is ready.
A love for reading and writing is a new concept for Virginia. Before the Twilight rave and a need to know the ending after Eclipse was released in theaters, Virginia preferred to watch the movie or convince a friend to read the book for her.
Needing to know the story of a random homeless man that she encountered on a freeway exit ramp, was the only reason she began writing in the first place. Soulless Nights spawned from the unknown story and a dare from her friends.
She has had the pleasure of working with some of her favorite authors. Street teams and beta reading were what led her to the world of writing.
She has released Soulless Nights, Vindicate, Expiate, Cessation, Always Never, Secondary Silence, Secondary Disaster, The Xmas Effect, The Blood of Abigail, Correcting Code 1.1, and the Bad Words Made Funny Series!
She recently released Night Tales Vol 1. Wich consist of 3 short stories featured in anthologies.
She also has co-written 3 books: Seraphines (Julia Clare) ,Bound by an Echo (Julia Clare) & Kepler: Humanity's Ark ( Kyle Perkins )
She is currently working on Correcting Code novella's
I absolutely loved reading Part 2 of this series. It gave me a little more insight of why some of the characters behave as they do, which is truly fascinating. The main character Aspen is my hero, she is a force to be reckon with. Let me give a little advice to the men and women of this world, don't do the following without Aspen's permission...touch her, talk to her, look at her, get in her way...if you can remember this, then you might get a chance to live another day! This story was bad-a**, I have my fingers and toes crossed that there will be a Part 3 in this series!
So finally we have part 2 of Vindicate. Aspen is a bad@ss Chick! She left Ethan alive but that was a mistake. Now we see her track him down and fix that mistake. Also along the way she handles a few loose ends. This is by no means a feel good story, unless your feel good is very murdery. Blood, guts oh my! Aspen is my hero! I wanna be her when I grow up, So watch out. I am hoping for another book to follow Aspen. 5 out of 5 stars for sure!
For me, book two is even better than book one! Less blood and gore, more insight into the twisted mind of our beloved serial killer. Aspen and Ethan are an explosive pair of star-crossed lovers, but I'm still rooting for them to kiss and make up. Book three will hopefully have more if Ethan's backstory and a happily ever after for these two!
This is the second instalment into the saga of Aspen who as you know is one hell of a badass heroine. Aspen and Ethan are back and continue on with their love/hate relationship. As the bodies pile up the hunt is on but who is the hunter and just whom is being hunted! I'm really likening Aspen. She takes no takes no hostages and is ridding the world of cheaters.
I am the storm that will end the seeming perfect existence for the liars, cheaters and overall assholes of the world
It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Aspen's so I've been seriously hanging out to read more about her. And as much as I hated waiting for the next installment in this series, it was sooo worth the wait. Each book in this series may only be short but what Virginia packs into each one will give you more of an insight into why Aspen is the way she is and will leave you begging for more. I'm still absorbing this latest installment in this series but I can tell you this, you need to read Vindicate first, then read Expiate to fully understand and appreciate all that is Aspen, as well as Ethan. I can't wait for the next installment in this fantastic series.
this book was amazing! its messed up but tells what she went through and now is seeking her revenge. no one will stand in her way. no matter how many bodies pile up. thanks for giving me a chance to read this book!
Expiate is book 2 in the series and continues the story of Aspen and her twisted games of death and destruction. This book goes deeper into Aspens past allowing us a glimpse of what help to create her. While the body count is not as high as book 1, Aspen does not disappoint on her creative ways to take revenge on the evil of this earth. This book is an amazing follow up to the first book and should be read in order. If you have read book 1 then this book is a one click must read this book. If you have not read book 1 and like to read about a hot and twisted chick that gets off on a bloody kill, then this series is for you and need to one click book 1 first.
If I had to describe Expiate—there are only two words that come to mind… EXPLOSIVE and UNBELIEVEABLE.
This story goes more into depth of Aspen’s past and you find out more about Ethan as well and we cannot forget about Tracy and Preston. Such an amazing follow- up book to Vindicate.
That ending gutted me. When is Book 3 coming out?
“A woman is strong, independent and deadly when pushed too far.”-- Aspen
This is the follow up to Vindicate, where we got to know Aspen and Ethan (they were first introduced in a short story in an anthology - Doctrine of Indecency) They have a very volatile relationship and are hunting each other down. Aspen needs to be in control and Ethan shook her slightly as she now realises he had an effect on her, one she is determined to fix by any means. She goes back to where it all stated to try to gain back some control
Expiate gives us a deeper look into why Aspen is on a killing spree, as well as opens up on Ethan's background, as well as Preston's. Aspen is on a mission to wrap up loose ends, and is taking no prisoners. Love the twist toward the end where Aspen and Ethan's worlds collide - brilliant! I can't wait to the next book in this series!! Rock on Virginia!!
expiate follows vindicate closely, and we get to learn more about aspen and Ethan. expiate is another quick read, but its packed full off minor details that are important to the story line. we get a little bit of insight into our characters minds, and the reason they do what it is they do.. great story, with a cliffhanger that makes you salivate for book three.
Hell have no fury like a woman scorn. I don't know who originally said that but I do know that in this book Aspen is the epitome of that quote. If you've ever wanted to be that woman getting revenge on the asshole who deserved it but wouldn't dare..,well this story dares. I loved and hated the characters equally, loved the story line, and can't wait for the next one.
Aspen hasn't finished her mission. Now she is simultaneously running to stay ahead of Ethan as she hunts Preston and Tracy. As the body counts rise, will her nightmares cease? This is another amazing addition to the series and I definitely can't wait to read what come next. A definite 1-click!!
Gimme more Ms. Johnson! I can't wait to see where Aspen takes us next. She's a woman on a mission that's for sure. Aspen is every woman whose been hurt badly inner evil self. Love this series.
I loved this better than the previous one! Aspen and Ethan both have secrets and as with most secrets they can't stay hidden forever. I hope that there is another book to follow this one....please??!!!! I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
Damn Aspen and Ethan just keep the heart pumping. I thought they would battle it out but not yet. Can not wait to see what happens with them. I love Aspen and I have to say I am cheering her on. Wow just wow this is one hell of a rollercoaster ride. I need more Aspen......
Each Aspen and Ethan story is better than the last wow I'm very antsy to see who comes out on top. Each with their own dark skeletons who is more baddass? Amazing work by an amazing author
Book two, as with book one, does not disappoint. We learn more about the enigma that is Aspen. I do love her character. She has a sense of justice in her own twisted way. She gives people the chance to change. Ethan is like a thorn in Aspen's side. They have an attraction to each other, that wreaks havoc on those around them. Usually ending in death. I am hoping there will be a book three. Its a brilliant well thought out twisted story.
Holy Mary mother of jesus!! Just when you think it could not get any more twisted. Well dammmmmn, it freaking does. I am like a big kid bouncing in my seat right now.
Gimme more!! I am not sure what it says about me when i am looking forward to the next gutting, but there you have it!
I love a dark read and boy this tickles my pickle! Which team am I on? I have no freaking clue whatsoever! God, i hope you have got my message. I fooking love it!!!
