A kilt meets dress modern love story.

If you like good guy geek heroes who look hot in kilts, strong, intelligent heroines, and poignant romance, then you’ll love Almost Jamie, the first book in Gina Robinson’s light, fun contemporary romance Jet City Kilt Series.

Half American, half English physician Blair Edwards has always wanted her Jamie, the Sinclair, the dashing Highland laird of the wildly popular TV series, Jamie. Unfortunately, it's so hard to find a man like him in the modern world. When the stars of Jamie come to Seattle's Jet City Comicon, Blair dresses up as Jamie's Elinor in a vibrant red gown, hoping to get a seat in their popular presentation and a good view of the handsome, charming star of the show. She doesn't expect to be called on to use her medical skills to treat an injured cosplayer who looks almost like… Jamie. And sets her wounded heart racing.

Cosplayer, geek, app designer, and cyber security expert Austin MacDougall has been styled by his matchmaker to look like the actor who plays Jamie. He's been trying to win the prize for best amateur cosplayer for years. Against the advice of his friends, he goes to Jet City Comicon in a kilt as Jamie, the striking redheaded Highlander. When he's injured during a mock battle with a vicious cosplaying orc, his friends get him help from a beautiful doctor in a stunning red dress.

Has Austin met his Elinor? The adventure is just beginning…

That ending...

By far the most money grubbing thing an author could do. I’ll intro the romance in book 1. Now the readers need to buy book 2, 3 and 4 for a conclusion.

Book one ends literally after the two main characters have met TWICE and is only about 2 or 3 days of their lives. :/

I believe I received this free from Book Bub. It is a rather blatant example of fiction inspired by Outlander though the author changed the name of the TV series for the book. This is the first of 4 books in the series and is really more of a short story than novel. It took me about an hour to read. It was well-written and fun but ended very abruptly leaving me as a reader wanting to know what came next. I wanted to know enough that I did buy the second book. It cost $6.99 And was read in less than 90 minutes. As a reader you need to decide upfront if you want to pay that much to get the whole story. I think this writer would have won more fans if she simply published all 4 parts as one book.

Doctor Blair Edwards has dreamed like many females around the world to have her own Jamie and be just like Elinor. These are characters on a Scottish show called Jamie which sounded a bit like Outlander meets Vikings. Jamie is the in-thing, and this is about to help Austin who is an IT Geek get his girl as Austin bears a strong resemblance to the character Jamie. In fact, he could be the actor's double and Blair, especially when decked in her handmade Elinor's costume which her Aunt played she looks like Sam the main female lead.
After an accident involving swords at Comic-Con, the pair meet as Blair doctors Austin and in return since Austin and his friends have VIP passes to the Jamie panel. Blair gets a free pass, and the pair meets the lead roles alongside having a bit of VIP treatment as the crowd can't get over their strong likenesses. Has Austin finally met the girl of his dreams and at Comic-Con of all places, the perfect place to meet a fellow geek and cosplayer? Has Blair finally snagged her Jamie? Can this finally mean that we get to see her say goodbye to Neil - who by the way, I didn't like? I love Austin and want her with him. Being a geek chic myself, I loved this book as it had comic -con, pop-culture references and romantic comedy aspects to the book and now I am looking forward to reading the next three books in the series.

Surprised that the author hasn’t been sued. Basically just got a good book a rewrite it to make it crappy. I’m all for retelling a story with a different view but the writing style was amateurish and felt more like a young adult novel. DNF I got about half way when I realised that it wasn’t even going to finish in the first book and thought I’m not going to invest my time for the other books when this one was so rubbish so I gave up.

Q&A

Physical or Ebook?
EBook from Kindle Unlimited.

Have you ever read a book by this author before?
Nope, first time

Genre?
Adult Contemporary Romance

Star Rating?

Rereadable?
This was cute, but no.

If it's a series, would you continue reading it?
No.

Is this a part of a challenge?
Nope

Who would you recommend this for?
Fans of Outlander or anyone who loves romance and fan culture.

Conclusion:

This book started off super cute, but it unfortunately fizzled out really quick. This apparent steam or tension we were supposed to be feeling between Blaire and Jamie felt force and pretty much non-existent.

I did like how their meeting and interactions mirrored Outlander. But that's basically what it was, a distorted mirror image of the story that so many romance lovers adore. Where it wasn't terribly done, the author was just unable to capture the romance and tension that is Outlander.

If I am to be completely honest, I really don't have too much interest in reading the other books. I have seen some series try to play off of Outlander (like Finding Fraser), but I have yet to find one that I was impressed with.

Not impressed

I was really not impressed with this book. As a peek into the world of Comic-Con, it was interesting, but in terms of it being a story - I found it sadly lacking. The majority of effort was spent not on the characters, much less character development, but instead strictly on physical appearance and similarities.
At first I was amused by more of the initial physical descriptions were not solely for a female, but I didn't realize that would be the whole book.
I'll not be bothering to get the next in this series, even if there is a hint a plot might develop.

I didn't even want to keep thinking about this book, but I do.

This book was like 198 pages of a few hours. I really got to the point where I couldn't go on with it any more. And this is coming from someone who goes to Comic Cons and costumes. It was just so over the top. And I feel cheated. I was 60% in when I realized that this wasn't a complete book. I HATE that. And there are 3 more just to get the complete story. Seriously? Not for me, it's cute, but so not worth me reading 3 more books in order to get a happy ending.

have never read this author before but when I saw the blurb I knew I would love this book. I mean really you can't go wrong with Comicon, something that reminds you of Outlander and romance.
You first meet Blair. She's recently became single, a doctor and has a love for the show Jamie. She was in a long distance relationship with a man named Nigel who she felt they lost that connection over the years. She had gone to med school in the states and he had gone to school in the UK. She had left without a goodbye to be with her aunt who is like her mom. She ends up going to Comicon dressed as the love interest of Jamie. She never expected to meet her own Jamie .
In walks Austin, in the book he is referred to as Jamie's twin. When he is injured in a role playing battle his buddy Dylan brings Blair to his rescue. She sets his dislocated finger and its like insta love. Austin is a very geeky guy even though he has good looks. He is 1/4 of Seattle's hottest bachelor's. He helped make a match makers app that has sky rocketed.
The story left off with Blair and Austin having 2 future dates together. I failed to mention when they were at Comicon they were both dressed as the lovers from the show Jamie. Both dead ringers enough so the real stars had them tag along throughout the day. They became a media hit, and showed up for a tv show which set them up for a night out on the town. In this book there was a little bit of drama but nothing to take the focus off the story that was taking place. It was more like mentioning things. I believe the 2nd book will have more of the drama with this guy who has it out for Austin. - Mandi

The cover lies - not much about what's under the kilt.

Like a significant portion of the population, I'm smitten by men in kilts. Combined with my love of reading, this book seemed a natural fit.

Inspired (or perhaps lifted directly from, based on other reviews) Outlander, it's the tale of two celebrity lookalikes that attend Comic-Con with said celebrities, and fall for each other. Maybe. I mean, it looks like it's heading that way, but the book ends in a cliffhanger worthy of any Scottish production.

The writing is sound, it moves along at a nice clip with fun characters. The cliffhanger and looking to see what's next turns what could have been a good book or pair of books into an unnecessarily long series of four short books that I probably won't continue reading due to the overall cost.

I enjoyed this book until the end. I do not enjoy nor read usually books that do not have a definite ending. I did not realize that this would be a continued volume. I enjoy stand alone novels or series where the characters stay, but the story line in which they are involved has an ending for each volume. If it had not been left hanging I would have rated it higher.

Such a cute story

Cute story...what are the odds that you will have a chance to met a doppelganger of your fantasy guy in real life? What's more crazy is get attracted to each other and get pushed into dating by looking like the characters in you favorite show. Awesome and a good turn of fate! Funny and cute..can't wait for the 2nd installment.

Too skimpy, too formulaic

Was this a book? It seemed more like a half hour TV sitcom. But I guess it was an excuse to try and sell the next installment. No dice.

Almost Jamie a Jet City Novel by Gino Robinson
4 stars

I'm so excited about this new series and how it has some crossovers of our favorite guys from The Billionaire Matchmaker Series. This book keeps up with their geeky passion of computer game characters at Comicon. Will Austin be able to put his dating lessons from Ashley the Matchmaker to the test?

Austin is attentive, witty, a gentleman and a geek to most with his focus on coding, software and app developing. He is learning how to interact with women and looking for his soulmate. Will he find it in an unlikely spot like Comicon...will she share his passion...can he put Ashley’s lessons to use or will he look like he's trying to hard?

Blair is a physician and didn't believe in medi-physical she doesn't want to watch experiences she needs the physical hands on experience. Blair finds herself in a new experience...will she embrace it or keep her skepticism. Blair winds up getting her future read by tea leaves. Will she get the journey that is predicted or just the sadness, heartbreak and tears that were read?

Blair aka Elinor and Austin aka Jamie meet at the Comicon. Both are dressed up in their favorite characters from a popular TV series...which happens to be the hottest couple and they could pull off being their twins.

“Even our first meeting was the stuff of romance novels—the heroine, me, setting his finger, nursing him, healing him. If he could return the favor and heal my bruised heart, wouldn't that be something?”

Blair is a novice at Comicon, but finds herself enjoying the day with Austin being her tour guide of all things geeky. She meets some of his friends and starts to understand the Comicon world a little bit more. Since they are being confused with the actual stars they find themselves being invited to pull off their own romance story and are set up on fake dates and interviews. Just when they think they might be writing their own romance (of course they don't admit their feelings to one another)....Austin gets the news he'd normally be thrilled with, but right now it comes at the wurst moment.

“Heads up. Rumors are flying. Panic is ensuing. Clear your calendar and prepare to be chained to your desk - mandatory overtime is about to rear its ugly head.”

Will their bubble of romance be broken? Will Blair and Austin be able to write their own story in the real world? Is the timing for her journey now or is this the tears, sadness and heartbreak the tea reader predicted?

This book was a great, quick read…surprisingly it left quite the cliffhanger. Looking forward to book two in the series ~Almost Elinor.

I enjoyed meeting Austin and the rest of the gang in Lazer's books. In fact, Austin was one of my favorite characters. He's got such a sweet heart though I wish he wasn't so down on himself. I think if Ashley was doing her job, he would have more confidence in his inner musings. He's fun-loving on the outside, just the kind of guy whom regular girls would go for. And it was nice to be able to have a listen to his inner turmoil over Blair.

I liked Blair, the cancer doctor with the analytical mind but the kind heart. Her mind was so fixed and constantly preparing for the next moment that when the next moments surprised her because they involved Austin, it made her more endearing. She had an interesting and a bit naive take on the cosplay experience which made her more human. I loved her inner dialogue about her breakup with Nigel. She was such a lovely person drawn into something she wasn't prepared for though she truly wanted to be.

I knew this one would have a cliffhanger ending because that's how the author writes. So it wasn't a surprise to me. That being said, the ending was rather abrupt and unexpected as though the author had written the entire story and decided to simply break it up into 4 parts, letting the word-count land where it may. It was disappointing.

Also, the obsession with Conor Reid and Sam Roberts was much to over the top. I realize there's a certain starstruck quality to cosplay, but all of those areas just droned on and made Connor Reid sound absolutely arrogant, which was a complete turn-off.

The other thing that bothered me and really stuck was the remark about the aunt. She seemed like such a nice person, and my heart went out to her over her illness and all she'd been through. But when she was hemming the dress for the cosplay, weekend by said illness, and the narration described her standing from her kneeling position as taking "as much effort as it would for a morbidly obese person," I felt hurt and insulted. There are so many people in the world, including myself, who work as hard as they can to try to lose weight with little return because of medical difficulties. Honestly, how freaking rude for someone to say something like this. She could have said anything, including something as simple as, "Not fully recovered from her illness, she had a difficult time standing." But to insult all of the obese people in the world with that one line was incomprehensible.

I usually like this author's books because they draw me in and make me excited to see what happens next. And I did buy the next book because I want to see what happens between Austin and Blair. But I can't raise my opinion about this first book in the series because of the problems I mentioned. I hope the next book in the series is better.

I would not recommend this book to anyone. I loved the premise. A lot. So much so that when the beginning of the book showed Blair in England at a henge, I was anxious to get to the "real" part of the book--the comic con part that seemed so enticing in the blurb. This England part was pretty boring and it seemed as if the only point to it was to mirror the Outlander book.

The drinking scene where the friends meet Connor was mildly amusing.

Unfortunately, when we finally get to the convention, it seemed as if the author did a lot of research on comic cons and was a little heavy-handed in adding those details.

Connor, who plays Jamie on the show, was supposed to be utterly charming and magnetic, and he wasn't. Sam was pretty cardboard. I loved Austin most when he was unsure of himself. I hated him when he was trying to be clever and charming. The men winked all too often.

I didn't not believe Blair was a doctor. At all. Unlike with the comic con, it didn't seem as if the author did much research on doctors. She tried inserting bits of information here and there--like the description of the chemicals at work on the brain during love at first sight and the fact that whisky gives hangovers because of congeners--but that's not the type of thing they learn in medical school. Showing her at the hospital eating in the cafeteria doesn't cut it either. My dad was a surgeon and when he had patients in the hospital, he'd do rounds to check on them and then leave. He had to see patients in his office too. He didn't spend all day at the hospital unless he was in surgery, but that's what it seemed like Blair did. For example... "By my afternoon break, I was exhausted..." See? She refers to her afternoon break as if this is a regular occurence.

I was really disappointed with the ending. Not only was the story not finished, it didn't even end at a particularly good place for a cliffhanger. I don't mind a cliffhanger if the author warns me first, but there was no warning, which to me is a violation of the trust I gave her as a reader. When I pick up a book, I expect a FULL STORY, with a beginning, middle and end. This book barely had a middle.

The review was written for My Timeout Book Blog by Melissa.

After reading the blurb for this novel, I thought well I always love a good romance with a geek in it, even better when the geek is the guy. I really though it would like it but didn't expect to not only love this novel but crave the next book so I could continue on with Blair and Austin's story. I hadn't read the Billionaire Matchmaker series by this author, actually I didn't even know about it when I first started this novel, but now feel like I have to go back and read that one as well. This novel got me hooked on this author.

The character of Blair is written just how I like my female characters. She is strong, determined, loving and a little lost. She has always searched for a man like the one in her favorite tv show, however she hasn't found him and is unsure if she will. There is so much to her back story. I love having a character that you can feel for and truly like. I found myself feeling for Blair and what she has already gone though. I wanted her to find her "Jamie" and get her happy ever after. And then comes Austin. He is our geeky, cos playing male main character. Going with the geek theme Austin is a app designer and cyber security expert or in other words works at a computer all day. I have to say that I found myself rooting for him from the start. I loved reading about what the matchmaker had done to change him from the geek that was getting no action to a look a alike of the actor pf a show loved by woman all over.

This novel has so many things that I love in a good story. There is comedy, romance, a little conflict and most importantly character that draw you in and make you want to know everything you can. This novel leaves yo wondering what happens next in a way that has you longing for the next book to see just where Blair and Austin end up. If your like me and look for the things I listed above and want a great but light read then this novel will not disappoint you.

A ginger haired cosplaying geek in a kilt … now that's what I'm talking about! "Almost Jamie" is a sweet first installment in Gina Robinson's The Jet City Kilt series. This series focuses on tech coder Austin MacDougall and physician Blair Edwards. These two characters are romantics believing in true love and soul mates. Austin and Blair are brought together by fate and tied together because of their choices of Comic Con costuming. Austin resembles the star of a period Highlander TV show while Blair's a longtime fan of the books and show. Blair dresses as the shows Heroine while Austin as the kilt wearing warrior. They get a lot of attention from the TV shows stars, fans, and media. This leads to them to temporarily pretend to be romantically involved. Blair's recently broke-up with a longtime boyfriend while Austin's on the hunt for the perfect woman to love.
Gina Robinson is a new to me author. I tried her out because I'm a sucker for cosplaying geek Heroes and Comic Con. This first installment to the Jet City Kilt series has me hooked on this sweet series. "Almost Jaime" isn't a stand alone book but part of a multi-book serial focusing on Blair and Austin. Gina Robinson has stacked the deck against this duo with nemeses, ex-boyfriends, a fickle fan base, and unhealthy relatives. "Almost Jamie" features secondary characters who appeared in the Billionaire Matchmaker series. You can see there's lots backstory between the characters but not enough to make you feel lost. I'm definitely hooked and I'm looking forward to see what's coming next. Next up "Almost Elinor".

Yayyyyy Austin's Story🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I have been soooo waiting for Austin's story and it is definitely worth the wait. Austin is the kilt wearing geeky friend from Lazer's Matchmaker series. While getting ready for a popular Com Con event Austin and pals get to meet Connor Reid the actor portraying Jamie from a Highlander series that could be Austin's twin. After some advice and quite a few drinks with Connor the guys score backstage VIP tickets for the event. Blair is a physician on her way to her first Com Con event for the only purpose of going to the Jamie workshop. After being raised by her loving aunt when she was orphaned at a young age, the Highlander series holds a special place in Blair's heart. When Blair offers to help an injured Austin, sparks fly for the pair and Austin invites Blair to use his plus one VIP pass as a thank you. Austin and Blair had no clue what they would encounter dressed as the main characters from the series, especially since they could pass for the their twins. When a story is leaked about the actors personal lives Austin and Blair step in to help out. What could it hurt right, nothing until the local talk show host Sherry Carmichael blindsides them. Will this be a temporary situation or will Austin's matchmaking lessons help him find his true match? Gina Robinson spins a story that will keep your attention from the first page till the last. The characters mesh so well they feel like true friends. Loved it and happy to see characters from other series and can't wait for the next book!!! Already ordered the next two!!

Thank you Gina Robinson for another great read

Because the way this book ends, I just couldn't give it 5 Stars! I HATE cliff hanger endings in order to buy the series. Have said that though, I loved the book although it did seem loosely based on Outlander. I don't think Outlander cast would consider Comicon in any way, but this was a fun, fast read. Blair raised by her Aunt, and Austin the once geek is now "one fourth of the bachelor catch in Seattle!

Blair Edwards is not looking for a "Jamie" since she just had a painful break up with long time boyfriend, Nigel (who sounds like a complete loser!). Blair has just finished med school, and become the newest cancer doctor in Seattle. She and her Aunt Beth has been together since Blair's parents died in a car accident. Beth stepped up to raise Blair and they have become as close as if Beth were Blair's biological mother. Beth, recently become ill, and rather limited in her travels these days, has a theatrical background and sews a magnificent costume for Blair to attend the Comicon event. Never did Blair ever think she would meet the handsome Austin who could pass as the star of the hit TV show "Jamie Sinclair", Connor Reid. Austin and his friends who are computer and app development are now drinking with Connor, and they all realize how much Austin and Connor could pass for twins. And from this discovery the story moves along, and all sorts of events happen that throw Blair and Austin together, and secretly they are both very pleased about this!

It's a fun read, but that cliff hanger just spoils it all!

Gina Robinson has done it again! Another Jet City winner. Austin MacDougall, whom we met in Lazer's books about Pair Us, is one of Lazer's programming friends that Ashley started the Pair Us system with. She took these adorkable geeks and sent them through her program to re-dress, re-style, bodywork, teach them how to act on dates and more to help them eventually meet and marry the woman of their dreams. With Austin, Ashley played up his lookalike-ability to TV heartthrob Connor Reid from the show 'Jamie' about a historic kilt-wearing sword-wielding Scot prior to the Battle of Culloden. It's ComiCon time and Austin is going as Jamie (not a true ComiCon entry) and the TV cast will be present. At the event, he fortuitously meets Blair, dressed as Elinor, (Jamie's girl), and Austin is smitten! Head over heels! Blair might be interested too, maybe. She's just broken up with a long time boyfriend. It was a dying relationship. Austin is HOT. Will Austin succeed in winning Blair's heart? Ashley suggests he goes slowly. Will he listen? Does Blair want him to move slowly? We can only wait and see. There's a bit of a cliffhanger (of course! Gina is well-known for that!!) Can't wait for the next installment!

I really don't know how to rate this. I liked what I read, but I feel cheated that it was only part of the story.
Almost Jamie is a delightful romp through an imaginary Comicon. Austin is a self-professed geeky coder who, together with his three buddies, developed a successful dating app. Now they are wealthy and since they employed a matchmaker to make them more presentable, they were named Seattle's Hottest Bachelors. Austin's alter-ego in the Comicon world is Jamie Sinclair, hero of a wildly popular Scottish Highlander series which very much resembles Outlander. With his auburn hair and Scottish heritage, he is a dead-ringer for the actor who plays Jamie Sinclair in the series. Blair is a doctor who has recently returned to Seattle to care for her ill aunt. She has also broken up with her longtime long-distance boyfriend. Blair and her aunt share a love of the Jamie Sinclair series, so Blair's aunt makes a gown for Blair to wear to Comicon as Jamie Sinclair's love Elinor (who Blair resembles). Blair and Austin meet at Comicon, feel an instant attraction, and the plot takes off. Unfortunately, just as the story was really getting rolling, the book ended. On a cliffhanger! The story continues in Almost Elinor. It was a huge disappointment to discover that we don't get Blair and Austin's full story.

I loved this book, but damn, why didn't anybody say it was a cliffhanger! Since I am interested in all things "Outlander," and men in kilts, this novel fit right in. It's easy to fall in love with our hero, Austin, as he is fun, smart, not the least bit stuck up and hot, hot, hot!!! He and the heroine, Blair, also very smart and sharp, are a perfect couple. Meeting by accident at a Comicon convention, the two are destined to meet as she is dressed up like the main character of a TV series by the name of "Jamie," (Outlander in disguise) and he is dressed up as Jamie. They get caught up in a pretend relationship and the fans fall in love with the two of them. Of course, I will have to get the next three books to see how this story ends up. Not fair!!! But I have never read anything by Gina Robinson and this book opened up a whole new series for me - The Jet City Kilt Series. I will also want to read about the other four men that come into play in Almost Jamie. They are a great group of friends and although not a whole lot is written about their looks, their interaction and billing as Seattle's Hottest Bachelors makes this reader want to get to know them better.

This was a great read. One reason is because I am a huge fan of the Outlander series (the books and the show) and while this wasn't a fanfiction (at least I don't think it is, since none of the characters are in it, nor is mentioned. Though it was like meeting everyone from the show and finding out they are fantastic). My other reason is I loved the main characters. They were believable, relatable, and so likable. I adored this book all the way up until the end. I felt like it wasn't so much a cliffhanger, more that it stopped in the middle of the story. I felt a little cheated like I didn't get a complete story. I looked online there are three more books. At $5 each, $20 is a bit much for an online book, not to mention stopping the way did bother me. Most of the time when this is done I don't move on to the next book (and hesitate to try other stuff written by that writer). So, while I adore this story and the authors writing, I'm going to think about starting the next one.

Almost Jamie is book 1 in The Jet City Kilt Series

I found it intriguing that a group of guys write a dating app and then got assistance in sprucing themselves up on their looks, the way they dress and how to interact with women. Geeky guys turn HOT!

Blair is a doctor who recently ended a long term relationship. She is attending Comic-Con and fate brings her into contact with Austin when he is injured and she treats his injury. The guys invite her join them on their adventures for the day.

I loved following along on their day. I felt like I was there making my way threw crowds right along with them.

Will Austin get over his shyness and Blair open herself up so these two have a chance for a future together? I'm rooting for them! Can't wait for Book 2!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Completely Fun

Austin and Blair each attend Comicon. He's there with his friends to meet Stan Lee but he's dressed as Jamie, the main character in a popular Highlander series who he greatly resembles. Blair, a doctor, is dressed as Elinor, the love interest of the same series, who she also resembles. They meet when one of Austin's friends runs into her and she ends up resetting Austin's finger after an unfortunate Orc incident. They end up going to the Jamie panel all together and attract the notice of the the series stars. While they're there for different reasons, they have in common an attraction and affinity. But Blair has just gotten out of a long term relationship and not ready to yet, she thinks. A great addition to the Jet City universe! I can't wait for the next book!

Read the first three books in this series (Almost Jamie, Almost Elinor, and Simply Blair) and am anxiously awaiting next months release of the fourth book- Simply Austin.

What's not to love?

- An intelligent protagonist
- A cute, smart hero in a kilt
- A fandom driven storyline
*for a show that sounds eerily similar to Outlander*

The series is well written. Austin is a cyber security guy who, along with his friends, has developed a successful dating app. Blair is a doctor just off a long term, long distance relationship. They meet at ComicCon, where hijinks occur that throw them together.
The only annoyances were side thoughts by Austin, hinting towards the friend-zone misogynistic mindset that can ruin a MC for me, but he never actually goes there & amnesia trope.

I recommend it, love it, cannot wait for book 4.

I absolutely loved this book in the series. I got it for free on Kobo and read it in one afternoon, I was that invested in the characters. I didn't want to put it down and screamed when I realised that I had come to the end of the book.

There were many parts of this book that had me giggling out loud and there were also many parts that had be swooning over Austin and Conner.

And the description of Comic-Cons and how hectic they can be was spot on as well. I loved how this book was two people who finds love at Comic-Con; I mean what geek wouldn't love to find their perfect match at a Comic-Con, I know I would love to.

I honestly can't wait to get my hands on the other 3 books and devour them like I did with this book. I can't wait to see how the relationship plays out between Blair and Austin.

If you like Outlander, you'll probably enjoy reading this book. In Almost Jamie, the book series/TV show is called Jamie, but it's clearly a play on Outlander. The lead is a 6ft3in, red haired Scottish Laird in love with a sassenach. It was fun seeing characters so in love with a book series/TV show that they dressed up as the characters...and Austin is mistaken for the star of the show at comic con.

The romance was sweet and I liked how it's slow going. Austin's friends are fun and his matchmaker is hilarious - it felt as though there was a previous book or book series about them.

It was a little disappointing that the book isn't the full story and ends abruptly. There are three more books and it seems they are all about Austin and Blair. I'll probably give the next one a read.
