Not only did Raw Heat manage to make me feel legit crazy (more on that in a minute), it turned me into a Damien and Emma fiend. I couldn’t get enough of these two together. I’m warning you now, this couple is HOT—I’m talking scorching, mind-numbing, intense heat—so prepare yourself. It might not be the perfect scenario, but the unlikely couple standing at the end sure is.

There are those books—and they seem to be few and far between—that stir up something wicked in me. I resort to this legit crazy woman—one who knows no boundaries. My thoughts and emotions are entirely consumed and my sole focus is getting back to the pages; meaning, I’m not opposed to reading anywhere at anytime. I have absolutely no shame in my game when a book grabs my attention the way this one did.

It was all in an effort to find out if it would actually happen. Would Damien truly open up and reveal his cards to Emma?

I’ll admit, similar to Zane’s book, Raw Need, the beginning of Damien’s story was a little rough for my tastes. Here’s Emma, a woman that comes off as a buttoned-up accountant, working for Damien at his club, but guilty of harboring a little crush on the guy. Can you blame her though? Damien comes off as cool, confident and always in control, but there's also a darkness there that lends him a bad-boy edge that's hard to resist. Not to mention the penetrating gaze behind those killer baby blues of his. Just try to figure out what he’s actually thinking . . . I dare you. Did I mention, he's a professional poker player?

It’s Emma’s brother, Benjamin, that lands her in an indecent proposal situation . . . with Damien. That’s what I meant about a little rough for my tastes. If you're anything like me, you might be thinking, just another cliché storyline. Well, I'll have you know, I’m more than happy to be eating my words now because in the end, it all worked.

Damien and Emma were like magnets, drawn to one another on an entirely different level. It was actually Emma that surprised me the most. First, because I couldn’t believe she would put herself in that situation for her conniving and selfish brother, but also because she stood up to Damien and challenged him, adding a fun dynamic to their relationship.

Damien managed to keep his poker face on for the majority of the story, but I wasn't buying it. Despite how adamant he was about not catching feelings or how resistant he was to ever having a relationship, I knew there was no way he could be sharing what he was with Emma and not be contemplating something deeper. Something more.

Let me just say, that ending . . . his words . . . "awww" inducing. I completely melted.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a romance/erotica that was this intense, this magnetizing, this steamy, this demanding. I feel like I had no choice in the matter; I devoured this book in less than 24 hours and then circled back and devoured the first book in the series, the one I somehow missed, Raw Deal. That’s the power of Cherrie Lynn’s writing and her characters—always addicting, magnetizing and full of heart.

2 - "It's a very tangled web." Stars.

Cherrie Lynn rounds off the Larson Brothers series with dark and broody, professional gambler Damien Larson’s story.

"These Larson men are a handful."

I am a huge fan of this authors writing, and if I am honest it is the only reason I didn’t actually give up on this book around the 60% mark.

"Don’t hate the player, hate the game…"

Plot-wise you essentially are getting a little Pretty Woman, with a large dash of Indecent Proposal with a side order of FSOG style Kinky Fuckery as well as some major familial drama thrown in for good measure.

Won’t lie I was all-in for the Kinky bit, because the smutty, sexy, dirty goodness in this story took me back to the halcyon days of Ghost & Brian, and if you haven’t met these delicious men I recommend you check out Rock Me & Leave Me Breathless because no one writes sexy like Cherrie when she decides to go wild. And Damien and Emma’s story definitely had the steam in it, but everything else was sadly a total, and utter let down.

He smelled like sin… tasted like heaven…

It’s no secret I have major issues with over the top familial drama, and all three books in this series have had that as part of the story-line to varying degrees, but I have been able to mainly overlook it because I liked the previous characters and the rest of the story that was being told. Not so much with Emma Haskell, this is a woman I would have kicked to the curb and left to wade out of the deep and plentiful pile of shit her douche-bag brother had dropped her in by losing her in a bet to Damien. A bet that means she’s essentially his for a month in lieu of paying her loving brother paying his debts.

"Make me forget all this… and I’ll consider this a month well spent."

Something she agreed to at the time, and then proceeded to bitch, moan and generally give him grief about continually thereafter. I know this is fiction, but if you agree to something, even if you don’t really want to do it, then after a certain amount of bitching about the hand you have been dealt, you need to then suck it up and get on with it. But no, immature and whiny Ms. Haskell decides against this and to act like a total child for a large portion of the book, even though she’s happy to take the free clothes, luxury car, jewelled butt-plug and sexual shenanigans that Damien dishes out, although even that was usually finished off with a side order of snide for the circumstances she is in afterwards.

"Spare me your fucking victim mentality… need I remind you that you chose this? You knew the stakes yet you came here anyway, and don’t stand there and pretend it wasn’t because you wanted something from me, too. I didn’t force you, but the mistake I did make was trusting that you were mature enough to handle this…"

On the plus we get to catch up with Damien’s brothers and their women, and I genuinely think the sexy-times in this book are the best of the series, it’s just unfortunate that the rest of the story let this couple down. I still love this authors work in general, I just feel this book had so much more potential, Damien after the glimpses we have had of him in the previous books, had so much more potential than the recycled Christian Grey type persona he was given, again I don’t really have a huge problem with that because I liked him, but with everything else it just compounded my disappointment.

One thing this author does always excel at is strong, dominant, alpha males and every one of the Larson brothers absolutely ticked that box to perfection.

Emma Haskell is a beautiful 25 yr. old woman living in Houston, Texas. She works as an accountant for a nightclub called Players. Her boss is a man named Damien Larson. He also runs an illegal, underground poker room on the top floor of the club. Emma tends to be more of a strait-laced, rule follower, so she tries to just mind her own business, lay low, & just focus on doing her job that she's paid very well for. She also tries to somewhat steer clear of her very gorgeous, tempting boss. Between his black moods & his striking appearance, she finds it hard to look him in the eye. She's too affected when in his presence, & gets all flustered.

Damien Larson is the youngest of the Larson brothers. He had it rough growing up, & his past greatly shaped who he was today. Nobody in his life ever stuck around except for his brothers so he got used to keeping people at a distance. He was a complex person, & known for being cold, ruthless, controlled, & calculating. Since he grew up with nothing, he now lives a life of excess. He's built the life he wanted, & tries to forget where he came from. He never let anyone get too close to him where they could ever have the power to hurt him.

 photo IMG_9940_zpsoqj06lxg.jpg

Damien has always been attracted to his innocent, sweet, sexy accountant. He's always wondered what it would be like to have her. One evening when her brother gets in over his head, an opportunity arises for Damien to fulfill his fantasies. He makes an indecent proposal & negotiates to have Emma no strings attached for thirty days.

Emma's brother's gambling has always been a problem for her family. He's really in trouble this time. When her boss makes an offer to forgive his debts in exchange for Emma, she decides she can't say no. She can handle her brothers problem without her parents ever knowing.

-Damien Larson might very well be the hottest man alive.

-Her body was on fire. With one touch he'd stayed her worries and awakened the rest of her. She could only imagine what sex with this man would be like.

-He was making her want this.

-He was going to ruin her. Even knowing that, she couldn't have stopped if she'd tried.

-She wanted him in every way she could have him.

-He was her fantasy.

 photo IMG_9938_zpsvcjeczk3.jpg

Damien & Emma begin spending their time together. Emma is one of the best people he knows. She's kind, & soon he feels like he's drowning in her sweetness. She's shining her light on all his dark places & soon he cherishes her. This man with walls around his heart is totally gone over her. His brothers both found love, but Damien never thought it was in the cards for him. Emma has made him question everything.

Emma began this arrangement ready to do her time, & be done. Now she's thoroughly been seduced, & her need for this man is out of control. She aches for him & craves him more than anything. He's sparked something in her that makes her feel alive. She's confused because she almost feels like he's hers.

I loved this book & this series so much! All these brothers are delicious & have such beautiful hearts. One of the best series I've read in a while. I adore these Larson brothers!

4.5 “Buy the shoes, eat the cake, fuck the guy” Stars!!!!!

I was all up in this book. Numbers. Poker. Nerd. Asshole. A perfect book recipe, and this book baked itself into my heart and into my pants.

à la Mode St. » fashion

“The idea, when it hatched, slithered from its shell in his mind, dark and slimy but irresistible. His best ideas usually made him feel like a dirty sonofabitch; that’s how he knew they were good ones. Suddenly nothing seemed impossible anymore. That sweet pink mouth could be his for the taking.”

à la Mode St. » fashion

Emma is the nerdy accountant. Damien is her boss, and also a poker genius. When Emma’s brother gets caught up in some debt to Damien, Emma is willing to do anything to help him get out of it, and Damien takes full advantage. Damien wants Emma, and he is determined to get her, morals be damned. This alpha-hole goes down in the books because he is sooooo mean to her.

Damien. He is a tall glass of asshole, and I drank every last drop. His soul is black as night, and that’s how I like ‘em, ya’ll. He’s smooth. He’s sexy. He’s perfect. Of course, I loved how Emma started working her light into his darkness, but it wasn’t too fast, and he was still an asshole in the end. I loooooved that they had numbers in common. An accountant and poker genius?! Perfection! Damien likes it dirty dirty dirty. Oh yeah, I saw it coming too. This book has some BDSM touches to it, and that isn’t a spoiler.

à la Mode St. » fashion

“I’m the mean, selfish bastard who has you here. I’m the one taking advantage of the situation. Maybe if I had a kind bone in my body, I would send you back home and consider the deal done. But I’m not going to do that. It isn’t how I operate. So absolve yourself, and blame me. I promise you. I can take it.”

à la Mode St. » fashion

I loved that we got Damien’s pov. It makes this book so much more worth it. The characters were all written so well, even the side characters. The plot was fantastic. It was basically perfection. Cherrie Lynn has always had a special place in my heart, and I’m so glad this book brought me back to her.

I love this series SO HARD. Cherrie Lynn delivers three very different stories in this series about three brothers who may have come from the same broken place, but who each chose varying paths that eventually lead them to unexpected romance. Mike, an MMA fighter, Zane, a famous rock star, and now Damien, a night club owner and poker shark, have all completely owned me with their respective storylines, storylines that are SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Each book, each character, each storyline is nothing like the last and this book in particular, Raw Heat might just be the most unexpected of them all.

The circumstances that bring Damien and Emma together are crazy and intense. This book is one big game where the stakes get higher and higher with each turn of the page, where the rules keep changing and the lines get blurred. It's an emotional roller coaster, an angsty dynamic of two people trying not to lose themselves, trying not to give too much away as they get tangled up in this temporary arrangement of sin and skin and sex.

This is absolutely the hottest book in this series. It's steamy and sensual and explosively passionate from beginning to end. Damien is a guy that will never allow himself to emotionally connect. He's detached and cold and he's honest about it. Emma is an open book. She's vulnerable but strong, sensitive but devoted. Together, they are explosive. In the bedroom, they take fiery passion to another level. It's an addiction, my need to see him brought to his knees, and the course of events as they evolve through this book make for an exquisitely painstaking experience, an unbelievably erotic journey where emotions get tangled and lines are crossed.

I enjoyed this book so much... to be fair, Zane's book is still my favorite... but I loved Raw Heat in a very different way. Each book in this series is beautifully perfect for that particular Larson brother and this book is no exception, staying true to Damien in a way that's both brutally beautiful and emotionally honest. Damien is a player, a king at the top of the game, and this story is everything you'd ever want in a story about a guy like him. Damien is a guy so closed off, a guy so deliciously dominant in the bedroom, a guy that wins at every game, no matter the stakes. Is there anything more delicious than watching a man who won't cower eventually forced to admit he's falling? The need to see him FEEL drives this book and I enjoyed every page. I wanted more. I love these brothers, I can't get enough. The drama and intensity between Emma and Damien is a delicious addition to this MUST READ series. So addictive, so unbelievably hot, Raw Heat is the most gritty, most explosive, most emotionally intense book in this series and I enjoyed every second.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the best has been saved for last. I didn't think you could top (no pun intended) the first two Larson's, but oh em geeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

The third and youngest Larson, Damien, is best known for winning many Texas Hold 'Em tournaments in Vegas. But he's also known for being intense, dedicated and oh yeah, extremely hot. As the youngest, he's been looked after by his older brothers for years, with no one else really caring to. But when he's given the opportunity to bet on something priceless, he doesn't hesitate to make that selfish bet. What he doesn't bet on is being cared for, which throws everything off balance. Now what does he do?

Emma is the accountant that keeps Damien's books in order. Does she know what type of man he is? She thinks so. But when her brother puts her in a very personal situation, Damien's true nature comes out. Although she thinks she's ready for it, she's in way over her head and it only get worse. I mean, what do you do when you fall for your boss?

I'm having a hard time writing this review because I don't want to give anything away. But OMG!!! This one is my favorite by far. The Larson Brothers have all had their fair share of dealing with their past, but they way in which Damien deals with it is pure sex on a platter. Poor Emma (not really, lucky bitch). She didn't stand a chance. These two are perfect for each other and I loved how Emma forced Damien to come to terms with things. After all, he did the same to her.

Raw Heat is the last book in Cherrie Lynn’s The Larson Brothers series and it was a bit of a letdown for me. The first two books in this series were very complex with the characters having to overcome some big time baggage to be together and in those books they worked through it, they showed growth, they made amends and they moved forward. That same type of book was very possible with the hero and heroine in Raw Heat, but we didn’t see it, not at all, and it was disappointing. An “indecent proposal” type of bet, leads to night club owner and professional gambler Damien “winning” his straight laced accountant for a month in whatever way he chooses.

As the youngest of the Larson brothers, Damien has always been a bit of a loner something readers have seen in the previous two books in this series. While he loves his brothers completely, he keeps mainly to himself and lives for his club and the illegal poker games he runs out of it. From the moment Emma walked into his office to interview for the position of his accountant, there was something about her that called to him. Things get complicated when Emma’s brother, an addicted gambler, gambles beyond his means and Damien offers to pay off his debt if Emma will spend one month with him as he sees fit.

I felt like this book tried to be too many things at one time and not all of it fit together. We really never got to know either character extremely well. Emma worked hard, worried about her brother, and tried to keep her parent’s from enabling him anymore and sending them into complete financial ruin. It was obvious she liked Damien despite his illegal activities, but never expected that he was interested in her. Damien wanted Emma but for some reason felt he couldn’t ask her out so instead he offered to let her work off her brother’s debt and in turn made her feel bad for doing so. I kept asking why he would do this if he really liked her, why would he keep it going when he knew how much it hurt her and we never got those answers. It was obvious Damien had demons in his past that made him into the man he is today and while we got a cursory glance at his childhood, he never really talked to Emma or his brothers about his feelings and I missed that. I missed not seeing him come to terms with his past, for realizing the things that happened were holding him back, and while he did finally begin to understand it was okay to let someone get close, we never got that big “a-ha” moment with him. In addition, Emma went from being a strong woman to a push over and she didn’t stand by her convictions after calling Damien out on his bad behavior and leaving him. Adding BDSM elements into this story was fine, but again we don’t know what drove Damien to pursue it and given that the submissive is the one with the power in the relationship, was he really in control?

I loved seeing the characters from the first two books and all the brothers being together even though those scenes were way too short. I was happy Emma and Damien were able to work things out, but I needed more time with them as an actual couple than the couple in a screwed up scenario where they spent a great deal of time arguing. As always Ms. Lynn did not disappoint in the sexy times, they were plentiful and hot as always.

I have read Ms. Lynn’s work for years so it really pains me that this book simply did not live up to my expectations of her work. That being said, while this was not my cup of tea that doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy it and this one book will not keep me from seeking out her future books as well.

This book was so interesting and, from the beginning, you are drawn into the romance between Damien and Emma.

Emma is an employee at Damien's nightclub and, while she finds him attractive (and sees him as the stuff of her fantasies) she has never acted on the attraction, or pursued it.

Damien is also attracted to Emma, and for less noble and more "I don't want to ruin her" motivations, isn't pursuing her.

And then, her brother shows up in the illegal casino upstairs and, to pay off his debt, she agrees to become Damien's for 30 days.

You aren't supposed to like Damian, but you do. You aren't supposed to find him sexy, or compelling, or find anything about him to like, But you do, and so does Damien...which becomes a problem.

This is definitely a darker book, but I enjoy those so this one was definitely a hit with me, as the dark in this book felt really forbidden, in a way that the forbidden really works and really feels taboo. The idea that there is an attraction to the person who bought you, and that this person is appealing on any level is a fascinating story arc to explore and made this book well worth reading.

I recommend this title.

Quick-ish 2.5 star review. Well, quick for me anyway.

description

-An “indecent proposal” type trope with some BDSM and a whole lot of hot sex? Alrighty then, sign me up.
-Third book in series, does work as standalone. There are appearances from his brothers (the heroes of the two previous books) and their loves, but it wasn’t critical to this story.
-The sexual chemistry is strong and those are the scenes that worked the best for me. When they teased each other physically, I was pulled in and I had no problem believing in their sexual attraction.
-Emma and Damien were a mixed bag for me. Damien was enigmatic, too enigmatic most of the time and Emma as the heroine wasn’t my fave. I wanted to like her, but her tendency to whine (and inability to own her reactions to Damien or her own actions) wasn’t cute or attractive to me as it was to Damien. Even towards the end she consistently thought the worst of Damien. I was not a fan of that. I didn't feel their character arcs amounted to a big enough change in Emma and Damien towards each other, as much as their reactions to outside influences.
-Their emotional arguments felt disjointed to me. They didn’t flow naturally, and felt more like trying to inject an emotional component into a relationship that was a bit fakakta to begin with. As a result, I could believe a HFN, not sure about a HEA.

description
The Bottom Line 2.5 stars
I enjoyed parts of this story, even if it was, overall, a bit uneven to really fully recommend. I will chalk this up to the fact that I am late to this game though, and perhaps had I had a chance to get to know the brothers prior to this story, I may have cared more about the outcome.

Damien Larson is smooth talking professional gambler who runs a nightclub with an illegal poker room upstairs. He is seen as cold, calculating, and a loner. His troubled childhood marked him and made him put up walls and guard his heart so not to get close to people and suffer loss. He is controlling in and out of the bedroom and his ideal woman would submit to him. But the one woman he has been wanting seemed out of his reach...until now.

Emma Haskell is employed as the club's accountant. She is considered a good girl and is not happy about the illegal casino on the premises. She is a numbers girl, honest. awkward, smart, and does not put on any pretenses.

When Emma's brother gets in a bad position, she makes a deal with the devil. She will be at his mercy for thirty days. She is not afraid to challenge him or talk back. But she does not want to admit that it does not sound all that bad. After all, Damien is built, sexy and charismatic. And she could use a little attention. But they never expected to unleash such a torrent of lust, passion, and need.

But with both of them afraid to get attached and them spending so much time together, there is plenty of potential for hurt feelings. He does not think he has a heart to give and she is afraid she might give hers too easily. Their evolving dynamics are an exploration in sexuality, trust, and pushing boundaries. Their need makes them vulnerable. But will one of them be pushed until they break?

This was a bit darker, steamier, and centered around a deal that got a bit out of hand. It brings back Damien's brothers MMA fighter, Mike, and rock star, Zane, and their love interests. These three brothers came out of a broken childhood with a tight bond, but each of them were unique and affected in different ways. We have seen them deal with their issues and fight for love with the most unlikely of matches. I did not connect with Damien as much as I did with Mike or Zane because he really was more closed off for much of the book. And Damien and Emma's story was not as complex and emotional as the other two. But I am still glad I read it and got to see the series come to a finale.

Frankly, it's more like 2.5 stars. Loved the first book in this series, but the last two have been disappointing, especially this one. Her books are hit or miss for me. I loved Brian, and I loved Ghost, from her earlier books. I wish we could have more of both of them.

Raw Love - Gegen alles, was war
von Cherrie Lynn
LYX
Cover:
Sinnlich ansprechend
Rezension:

Man versucht einfach herauszufinden, was er wirklich denkt. . .

Raw Heat was absolutely amazing!! I loved the chemistry between Emma and Damien and could not get enough of their intense passion. This story had great banter and an engaging storyline that kept me hooked from the get go. It was the sexiest book in the series and the perfect book to end the series.

While Raw Heat is the third book in the Lawson brother series it can be read as a standalone. When bookish and demure Accountant Emma Haskell's gambling addict brother is visiting an illegal poker room in her boss Damien Lawson's nightclub, she is desperate and all out of options to save her family. But when Damien makes her an offer she’d be crazy to accept—she can’t refuse: her brother’s debts will be forgiven but Emma belongs to him for thirty days. What follows is a delightful and decadent story of dark and delicious passion between an angelic bookkeeper and the devil who's had his eye on her. But what happens when Emma brings out a side in Damien he thought didn’t exist. Will the flames of lust scorch them both, or will this beauty tame the beast and give him something to fight for?

I loved that Emma was able to break down Damien's walls and let him be vulnerable after a damaging childhood. It was really touching. In addition, I found the touch of kink/bdsm storyline to be HOT and so sexy. While I did get frustrated with Emma's overall weepines at almost every turn, all in all, this was a fantastic story with smoldering passion and an intense emotional and physical connection! Bravo! 4 stars! Ratula

ARC received from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair review

Plot: 3/5
Characterisation: 4/5
Prose: 4/5
How much I enjoyed it: 2/5

Damien and Emma have been attracted to each other since they first met. A gambling debt by Benjamin, Emma's brother gives Damien the opportunity to get closer to Emma. Emma takes up the offer reluctantly.

The story was written well given the average plot. However, I did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped. I find Damien an inconsistent a**hole while Emma, whiny with no backbone. I feel that their characters do not match each other.

It is always a bittersweet moment when you get to the last book in a series, however in the case of the Larson Brothers, I feel that Ms Lynn definitely left the best till last.

I wasn't sure how I really felt about Damien Larson after the first two books. There was just something about him that I wasn't sure about.

Well, I can now throw that right out the window, as Damien is now my favourite of all the Larson men.

There is something about the broken, the ones who don't want to be loved and cared for that draws me in. Yes, at times he was a douche, but at the same time I couldn't help but adore said douche.

Emma is just something else. She is selfless and caring, but also has a set on her, and she stands up to those who treat her badly, whether they are friends or family. Ugh, don't get me started on some of her family.

How they came together is a little bit ridiculous, however that just made me like it more.

I loved seeing more of the other Larson men and their lovely ladies, loved how their lives intertwined.

I really did enjoy the whole Larson Brothers series, and now can't wait to see what Ms Lynn brings us next.

Emma is drawn to her dark, dangerous boss, but knowing he runs an illegal poker room keeps her attraction at bay. When her brother’s gambling problem threatens her family again, Damian proposes a deal that shocks her as well as intrigues her. She is willing to go to great lengths in order to keep her parents from finding out the depths of her brother’s problem. But agreeing to Damian’s terms introduces Emma to a dark side of her boss that she never knew existed.

I loved Emma. She was so loyal to her family, all she wanted was to keep her parents from having to bail out her brother again. She is curious, careful, and very linear. Damien approaches everything so differently than she that she is constantly off balance around him.

Damian was a little harder to know, and has been even as his brothers were open books. He was the youngest when their mother died, and the scars he carries from their childhood make themselves known differently for this youngest brother. He is full of secrets and schemes that he keeps close to his pocket even as he lets Emma see other sides of himself.

The family drama that peppered this particular plot didn’t bother me in the same way I was by the previous books. It is still there, but maybe because it was a different family, with different issues, it was a fresh start and less of an issue for me.

I have read at least one other book where a character bets a person they are supposed to love (whether romantic or familial) and while the idea makes me a little uncomfortable, this time it set better with me, especially as each character takes the time to at least acknowledge the moral shadiness of the action of winning another person in a bet. But I loved the way Damien treated Emma through the whole ordeal.

This was a great way to wrap up the series, even if I wished Damian was able to open up even further than he id. These three brothers deserve happy endings and struggled to find them as they did everything in their lives. It was nice to see each brother again -- Michael and Zane are always willing to help out their younger brother, and demonstrate their loyalty in the best way possible.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I think this was my favorite book in the Larson brothers series. Damien was....wow. I need a moment to collect myself here. Ever since I first met Damien in book one I always knew there was something about this man that would bring me to my knees, and I was right. Sweet baby Jesus was I right.

To say the Larson brothers didn't have an easy up bringing would be putting I mildly. But they had each other and I truly think that made all the different in each of their lives. Everyone of them handled their past in their own way, but Damien became dark, brooding and mysterious as he grew older. Don't get me wrong, all three brother are hot and sinful as Belgian chocolate, but Damien's wild side in the bedroom... * fans self* have mercy! However, even with his God like body, good looks, and his power and wealth he is still looking for more out of life.

And then there is Emma. Sweet, caring, feisty Emma the accountant. Her brother has a bad habit for spending money he does not have. He can't get enough of the gambling life and he can dig himself a nice hole of 30k in no time. Emma wants Damien to stop letting him into the players room at his club, but Damien has a more sinister idea and he makes Emma an offer she can't refuse, and just saying she be a dummy to refuse ( you'll see what I mean).

This story had everything I love, hot damaged hero, strong beautiful women, amazing connection, and let's not forget the sex holy moly get your spare panties out and a tall glass of ice water ready. I recommend this book to anyone who's ever wanted to play with the big dogs at the grown up table.

Raw Heat
Larson Brothers series book #3
Release Date: September 5, 2017
Review copy provided by the publisher

Damien. I can't find the words to describe how much I adore this hero. He's broody and kind of mysterious. But that's what he wants you to see. Under all that is a vulnerable man who's never truly been happy. His brothers are his rock, and he loves them fiercely, but he's never considered himself worthy of the love that comes from a healthy relationship with a woman. He's convinced himself that he doesn't need or want it. It's messy and he can't control it. Damien controls all things in his life.

I was a little put off by the situation that brought Damien together with his heroine, Emma. He's her employer, but it was the situation that brought them together intimately. I think the author handled it very tastefully. I didn't get the icky or cheap feeling that I was thinking might come. Cherrie Lynn knows how to take sometimes uncomfortable circumstances and make them ok. She's not afraid to write about stuff that'll make you raise an eyebrow. I love that about her writing!

Emma is my favourite kind of heroine. She's smart and wickedly sassy! She's had a thing for Damien since she started working for him, and while she'd like to be horrified at the circumstances that brought them together, her girly bits have taken over her common sense. Yay!!

Man, I love the push and pull in this book! When Damien lets you see beyond his steely exterior, you can see his affection and growing love for Emma.

Ummm...this book is panty melting. Seriously freaking hot! Out of all three books in this series, this one is by far the sexiest. I liked it...a lot!

I always say that I love those "black moments" in a romance. It's the point in the story where you think the characters can't come back from. You're heart is broken for them and you've almost given up. There's a climatic scene where Damien and Emma finally have it out. They lay their cards on the table. I swear, my heart was in my damn throat the whole time! I could feel the burn in my eyes. I know it sounds crazy, but that's my favourite part. I like to feel their sorrow so intensely that it feels like my own. That is fantastic writing, in my opinion, if you can make that happen!

Cherrie Lynn is an extremely talented writer. I could feel what her characters were feeling. I could see their facial expressions vividly in my mind. I wasn't sure she could out due the previous two books in this series...I was wrong. While this book doesn't have quite the heavy sadness that the others did, it still gave me all the feels. There's so much emotion, it's like being on a roller coaster. I was up and then down dozens of times. It was quite simply, perfect.

While this book can be read as a stand alone, do yourself a favour and start with book #1, Raw Deal. You'll be happy you did!

4.25-4.5 STARS

With this third installment to author Cherrie Lynn’s Larson Brother’s series, dare I say, she left the very best for last. In “Raw Heat,” the focus now shifts to Damien—the youngest and most darkly intense of the three Larson brothers—as he sets his sites on his beautiful yet naïve accountant, Emma Haskell. Taking advantage of her weakness that is her gambling addicted brother, Damien offers Emma a deal with the devil himself. But if Damien is the devil, then Emma is more than happy to spend her days—AND NIGHTS—living within the fiery pits of hell.

Emma Haskell would have to be blind not to notice Damien Larson for the sex god that he is. For years, her boss has held the starring role in Emma’s most scandalous fantasies. But as his club’s accountant, she is careful to keep her lustful thoughts at bay. Then Emmas brother gets in deep with Damien, accumulating a massive gambling debt he can’t afford to repay. And all Emma has to do is spend a month in Damien’s bed for her brother’s debt to go away.

Damien Larson has had eyes for his beautiful accountant right from the very start. But Emma isn’t the type of girl you toy with, so he made himself a vow to keep his lascivious thoughts in check. That is, up until Emma begs for his help in forgiving her brother’s debt. Suddenly, Damien is more than eager to teach Emma a life lesson—one that will simultaneously land her in his bed. But it soon becomes apparent that it’s Emma who holds all the cards, as Damien fears he might not ever want to let her go.

Picking up on Emma’s submissive clues, the dominant side of Damien enjoys introducing his innocent prey to a side of her sexuality that she has yet to fully explore. And Emma is more than willing to let Damien draw her further into the darker depths of sex. But with each passing day, Emma finds herself falling for this emotionally stunted man, wishing for possibilities she fears might never come to pass.

Delightfully twisted and sinfully sexy, Damien and Emma’s story offers up a daring premise for those of us who like to take a ride on the wild side. Yet despite the explicit nature of this story, “Raw Heat” is also a well-written, emotionally endearing romance with main characters you’re sure to fall in love with. And with cameo appearances by characters from the first two books sprinkled throughout, “Raw Heat” is a guaranteed winner all around.

When Emma sees her brother at a poker table in her bosses hidden poker room she is beyond mad. Ben is an addict and he has drained her and her parents dry but he is playing against Damien her boss one of the worlds top poker players. Of course Ben loses and when Emma asks him to let it slide he said we will make a deal, I will give you the money for his debts if you spend the month with me. Emma is a very strong willed person as is Damien so for Emma to agree it's gonna take some serious convincing. I loved Emma's character and also how devoted she was to her family and even her dog so it was really entertaining to see that Damian didn't have a clue what he signed up for. I loved this story and all the complications that arise with both of them.

Raw Heat took me a little while to get through. The story and plot were entertaining and somewhat unique. The Hero hot and sexy. The side characters well written.

This would have been a solid 4.5 if it had not been for the heroine. I get why she felt the way she did and the author tries to explain it within the story as to why she acts the way she does but to no avail. She was annoying and there just weren't enough redeeming qualities about her or scenes with her to pull me back in. Even when she wasn't nagging she was whining or crying or indecisive.

Cherrie Lynn can write heat, trust me. If you are looking for a hot read with a swoony hero then please try this one. I really enjoy her books and will still continue to purchase/read them.

I was intrigued this one as the little we have seen Damien in the other books he has seemed like a loner, even among his brothers. I have to say that I didn't care for Damien. I hated how he blackmailed Emma into spending time with him and then later how he treated her, like she was just another woman. Even when Emma confronted Damien he didn't seem affected at all.

I have to say that Emma's brother was a big POS. I was glad that she was able to see the deal he made for her with Damien, she needed to see that side of him. I was also glad that at the end she was able to stick to her guns and not help him and even talk her parents into the same.

Damien Larson was a bit of an enigma in previous books so I was excited to dig deeper into his persona. However, I was disappointed with the actual story-line. There were several controversial moments that seemed to be thrown in just for the sake of added drama. Emma's blow-up's became annoying fast. She started out as such a level-headed character, but quickly spiraled into an irrational push-over. There were elements that I enjoyed, especially those featuring the older Larson brothers and their SO's. Full review to come....

Raw Heat is the 3rd book in the Larson Brothers series. I have read the first two books and loved them. If the first two books brought the emotions, this one brings all the sexy times. The storyline was fantastic. I really enjoyed it.

Damien Larson has always kept everyone at a distance. If they don’t get too close, they can’t hurt you. He is a master poker player with the reputation of a shark. Owning a nightclub and an illegal poker room is hard business. Emma Haskell has lived a safe life. She does everything for everyone else. Including her messed up brother. To bail him out of his debt to Damien, she agrees to put herself on the line for a month if her brother loses. She would be Damien’s for a month.

Great writing. Awesome mix of story and sex. Dirty and steamy but also has great dialogue.

Received an ARC via NetGalley.

I have not read the other two books in this series, but oh man, I love the Larson brothers so much!!!! This book was intriguing, full of unexpected love, steamy and family drama filled. I absolutely adored this book from start to finish and all the characters were written phenomenally well.

Emma is hardworking accountant. She's all about her business, making her money and walking the path of a good person. She doesn't really know she has a dark side until a bet goes wrong and she ends up in the hands of her boss. I absolutely loved Emma. She was feisty, spoke her mind and didn't take mess from anyone.

Damien is the Alpha male all women love. He's daring, sweet and yet still such a mystery. He owns a nightclub which successful and runs a side job within his business. I loved him! He may have been a bit of a brute every now and then, but considering his past I could totally understand it. Damien was everything and more.

The romance was pure beauty. Though typical in a sense of boss-employee relationships, the way they got together and declared their love for one another was insane. I loved them together. Emma was able to enjoy her dark side more in the sexual realm and Damien was able to truly bare his soul. They definitely complimented one another. I loved the sex scenes because Damien knew how to take charge and Emma was aware of her sexual being. Perfect couple.

The Larson brothers and their women were freaking awesome. I absolutely could not stand Benjamin (Emma's brother). He was a douche through and through. I felt so bad for Emma and wish she would have let Damien at least sock him in the eye twice.

Overall this was well written and amazing. Definitely recommend!

I have read all of the books in this series (though it is not necessary as they are standalones), but this was my favorite of the three. The characters in this story were very interesting as they both showed one version of themselves to the world, but brought out other qualities just for each other. Emma seemed like a quiet, goal-oriented good girl, but with Damien she shows how strong, bold, and adventurous she truly is. Damien shows the world a cold, controlled version of himself. With Emma, he is sweet and caring. They don't change each other, just bring out deeper parts of their personalities.
I enjoyed the fact that this book focused almost entirely on the couple, with not too much drama from secondary characters. There was conflict from outside the couple that affected them, but it was not drawn out. Damien's brothers and their girlfriends from the first 2 books did make appearances, but they were brief and did not require readers to know their background.
Overall, I truly enjoyed this book. It left me wishing the Larsons had more brothers!
