A playful sweet romance!!! Fling by Jana Aston was one of those reads that left you smiling B-I-G. This novella was a perfect blend of naughty and nice.
If you are a fan of office romance tropes, then Fling is definitely the book for you. So when Preston passed along a note during an office meeting to his co-worker, Sandra, he asked several intimate and fun questions. The most important question was who did she want to bang that was in the meeting. The answer to that question was pretty obvious since Sandra has a big fat crush on her boss’ best friend, Gabe Laurent.
“I think about the paper burning a hole in my pocket and wonder again if it was hers. I’d like it to be hers. I think sweet Sandra has a hidden dirty side, and I’d really like to uncover it.”
Sandra played along with Preston answering all the questions but when her boss, Sawyer asked her to get something, she became distracted and forgot about the note that is until she sees Gabe folding a piece of paper into his pockets. Embarrassed and in total shock mode, Sandra tries her best to ignore and keep a straight face when Gabe approaches her.
When Gabe read Sandra’s answers, he was intrigued. Shy, innocent Sandra has a dirty side according to the answers on the paper. As he tries to fish out more information on Sandra, Sawyer makes it known to his friend that he is to stay away. Sandra is too sweet and innocent to get tainted by Gabe but it seems Gabe didn’t listen to his friend. So what happens when Gabe discovers that Sandra is not that shy?
So if you are looking for a light, playful, and flirty read that was adorably cute then Fling is definitely the book for you. As always Jana Aston puts a fun fresh and humorous spin with this lighthearted office romance.

The thing I love about Jana Aston’s books, is that they are always fun, flirty, and sexy. Her sense of humor is fantastic and her stories always make me smile and laugh. Fling will most definitely put a huge grin on your face. Gabe and Sandra, the characters in this book, are secondary characters in Right, but this can be read as a stand-alone.
Gabe Laurent is Sandra’s boss’s best friend and business partner and she is insanely attracted to him. Sandra’s that super efficient, mostly quiet, and sweet girl at her work. She would never go after someone like Gabe, but a girl can dream, right?
All it takes is one piece of paper for Sandra to unintentionally get Gabe’s attention. And once she’s got it, Gabe isn’t the type of man to back down. Sandra doesn’t really know how to react to a man like Gabe. Sure, she’s thought about him, fantasized about him, but Gabe as a reality? She’s never thought that would actually happen. And now that it’s a possibility… she doesn't know what to do about it…
Sandra is such a fun and relatable character. I loved being in her head. Then there was Gabe. He was pretty fantastic as well. It was also nice to get more of Everly, Sawyer, and Chole (dying for her book!).
If you’re looking for a fun office romance, this is a novella you don’t want to miss out on! It was a quick and fabulous read!

Reading Fling was the perfect way to revisit this crazy little world that Jana Aston has created in the Cafe Series. This time around we get the novella of Sandra and Gabe that proves that misbehaving at work is sorely underrated.
Gabe Laurent never expected that the beautiful shy PA would fill out an impromptu sex quiz during a work seminar naming him as her fantasy. It gives him the green light to pursue the spark that has been brewing between them.
Fuck me, this girl. She evokes something in me. I want to take this weight of shyness off her shoulders. I want to strip her bare, run my hands over every inch of her until she abandons the blushing and begs me for more.
Sandra takes professionalism very seriously unless she's dying of boredom and does something she shouldn’t. Never expecting her extracurricular quiz to end up in the hands of her crush, will she accept what’s being offered when Gabe comes around?
With a little help from meddling friends, Gabe finally has Sandra in his sights. Yet when Sandra interprets their interludes as just a fling, he will need to stop being obtuse and claim his woman. As expected, this was sweet, steamy and amusing. A longer story would have been ideal, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

**This is a stand-alone but you really ought to read Wrong and Right because they are such fun reads!**
Hahahahaha.*giggle*. That was my first reaction as I started to read Fling. My second reaction was to squeeeeee, well, because I recognized the New-Year party scene from Right. Remember? Where Everly played matchmaker extraordinaire and Fairy God Mother? OMG! So funny!
So, *Yay*. We finally get to see if her match-making tricks worked on Sandra and Gabe. FYI. It worked.
Sandra and Gabe's story is sexy, fun, witty and just purrfect!
For such a short read -80+ pages-, the story never felt rushed. The dynamic of Sandra, Gabe, and Preston (Sandra's hilarious friend and co-worker aka Gabe's assistant) was one of pure unadulterated joy and fun! Of course, I wished it were longer but I suppose this was meant to tide-us-over until we get our hands on Trust, which releases on Nov. 8th and is a full-length novel. I simply can't wait!

When I've read only a bit of Gabe and Sandra's story in Right, I immediately wanted more and am so glad that author wrote it. I loved it! It was funny and sexy and sweet office romance. I only wish it was longer because so damn cute but too damn short. I want more! Haha.
Anyway, nice little something to read in between longer books.

You know those feel good books? The ones that make you giddy and put you in an instant happy mood? This was that book for me. It was fun, sexy, and it left me wanting a heck of a lot more.
Being an executive assistant to the CEO of Clemens Corporations, the shy and quiet Sandra has a full work load. But she's also managed to find time to crush on her Boss's best friend and business partner Gabe.
Thinking that it's just a silly crush and he's out of her league, Sandra is about to find out that Gabe has her on his radar. What he does next wiill cement their fate forever.
Gabe Laurent doesn't have any problems getting women. Being around a shy assistant who looks at him constantly is a normal reaction for him. Exploring the desire to get her horizontal and not piss off his best friend? Is easier said than done. Will Sandra and Gabe give into temptation?
"This may never happen. I want to experience everything he has to show me.
Knowing that this was a Novella, I wasn't expecting to enjoy this one so much but I did. Sandra and Gabe's ineractions with each other was the best part of the story. They were genuine and their connection was so real you couldn't help but root for them.

Fling may have been short but Jana Aston managed to pack a lot of things in a small amount of pages. This is a sweet story of an office romance that will have you swooning just as much as it has you fanning yourself from the heat. The characters were both nice to read about and I liked them together.
My three star rating comes from the ending. I was loving it up until that point and then my loved wilted at the last second. I just wish it had been a more original ending. The little nod to Sixteen Candles (great movie, people, make sure you've seen it!) was just a little odd

This is a short story about Sandra and Gabe, whom you could met in a book two in the Wrong Series. It is not long, but very hot and quickly draws you into the story of these two. A lot of sexual tension, even hotter scenes and lot of fun.
About the plot: Sandra Adams is a executive assistant to the CEO and has "a small" crush on her boss's best friend and co-owner of the company, Gabe Laurent. She watches him from a distance, never would have thought that the man like him would be interested in her.
Gabe had a lot of women and is not interested in commitment relationship. When in his hand lands a bawdy survey from one of the employees, on which it's his name, he is more than interested to find out who it is. And live up to expectations.
Final thoughts: Great addition to the whole series. A short story that can be read as stand alone, but primarily provides fun for those who know her earlier characters. As always, we can count on Everly, who not so discreetly helps our heroes. There is also Preston, who as a secondary character did a great job. It is also good for those who want to try Aston's books and don't want to start from a full-length book.
Sandra and Gabe have a great chemistry. Their scenes are full of good tension and their story although short it's still well developed. He is full alpha male and super hot. She is a little shy but determined. Their interactions make you smile and turns you on.
Jana Aston has this style of light and funny romcom with dirty, dirty scenes. It's sweet and filthy, and will provide you a good time while reading.

"Not just a Fling stars"
This was a great short story...I enjoyed this reading a lot...It was sweet and had me smiling and in a good mood...I liked Sandra and how she was blushing all the time when Gabe made a comment or said something dirty to ruffle her feathers...It was his favorite thing to do...making her blush!!
Gabe was hot and confident and knew it!!!Sandra was so shy but had a dirty side when it came to Gabe and the things he did to her body...with his fingers, tongue and .... ;p
Overall a nice, light book that made you smile and happy while reading it!

Poor Sandra, she was never going to win against Everly. Now I really didn't expect Gabe to be a glasses wearing manwhore. But the right woman can always tame the beast in the pants.
I have zero complaints about this novella, other than the fact that it's a novella, and I kind of love Jana's words, so a full novel would have been cool with me. But I'll take what I can get, even if it's just the tip. Okay, that's a lie, but this was fun and sexy and just FUN.

Sooooooo good
I was so delighted that the author was goin to do a novella of Sandra and Gabe the sexual tension between these 2 characters in Right was crazy an I needed to know what went on New Years Eve nite between them Sandra is a very quiet woman an Gabe is a sexy nerdy guy but they have been checking each other out for a while but they both have done nothing about it until Everly turns match maker (again) I just luv her for doin this
I really enjoyed this I don't really want to say much cause it a short story it could b read as a standalone but I m glad I read Right first because I got to know them a lil I just think Gabe is so sexy the whole nerdy glasses thing did a lot for me in this book an he his hot the way he was with Sandra was so hot I couldn't get enough I actually would of luvd more of this couple cause there was lil bits mentioned that made me want more an the ending was over to quick but I can get greedy sometimes but I would recommend it just for Gabe even though I did enjoy the whole thing xxx

What I love about Jana Aston's books is that I always come away from it with a smile on my face. You can count on a feel good romance. Fling is a short, quickie office romance about a rich techie millionaire and an office assistant. If you like this sort of storyline then you'd love this quick read.
Sandra has a huge crush on her bosses best friend, millionaire Gabe Laurent. Gabe is swoonworthy! He makes smart look good. Hell he makes everything look good! But Sandra would die a slow death before she ever reveals her crush to him. I don't want to give the story away, as it's a short read, but I will say I loved the chemistry and bantering between Gabe and Sandra. It was fast paced, it was flirty, sexy, playful, cute, hot and fun. This is the perfect in between read if you need something light and fun and not a lot of angst.

Porque por ejemplo... el nuevo de Lisa Kleypas está mucho más barato y mucho más largo que este. No entiendo muy bien como se manejan los precios en las editoriales pero francamente este no vale la pena. Porque no es ninguna maravilla 👎🏻

Los protagonistas fueron normalitos y su historia muy cliché como las que me gustan. Sigue la misma línea de los anteriores, es ágil y rápido de leer pero aquí no vi la chispa de diversión y pasion del libro anterior.
Lo mejor del libro: Everly y Sawyer ❤️ jajaja aunque no fuera su libro estos dos se los llevan de largo. Para mí han sido los mejores de la serie. Quedo con la incógnita del próximo prota jajaj.

1.5 Nope
I don't even know why I tried.
I've read this author before and didn't like her, but I wanted to give her another chance. Definitely not one of my best decisions...
The characters felt like they were written by 10-year-olds (and I work with kids, I know what I'm talking about). They were flat and weird and not in the least bit realistic. Even the story was pretty dull.
Why 1.5 stars, then?

Oh my oh my oh my... Gabe! Wait... do you still remember Sawyer Camden, the richstalker businessman from Wrong who is in love with a college student, Everly? Yes, this is a story about his executive assistant, Sandra. As much as I hate her boss', Sandra's story is sooo much better.
Sandra Adams works her ass off and stay professional even she has secret crush with with her boss' best friend-slash-business partner, Gabe Laurent. He's such a wet dream for Sandra and impossible to reach. Unexpectedly, Gabe feel the same towards Sandra. He always watch her from afar but still questioning for go for it or not. But when the chance came and Gabe took it.
As a executive assistant for CEO, Sandra always do her job flawlessly to please her boss. She's my kind of a girl. Ordinary, hardworking, independent and doesn't really care about boys except for Gabe. The truth, Sandra is quite submissive around him. I noticed she's often blushing and blabbering which is cute. I feel you, woman. It's normal when you have crush with someone.
Nothing special on Gabe. On his thirty-five, he acts like he should. He didn't really romanticize. He's also great in bed. Finally, when they're on casual fling, he feels something. But he knows Sandra is kind of woman who wants real relationship. A little miscommunication happened but they're quickly repair it. *cough* Still, my favorite scene is in the office. *cough*
I have some minor complaints, though. I wish this could be longer than a novella. Their relationship has potential to be more. Yeah, the title is FLING, maybe that's why. I wish Sandra could be more firm around Gabe. She always said 'Yes' to everything. I just wanna Gabe has more struggle to get her; not only by jealousy. Gabe even didn't sweat a bit to have her. Hmph. As you know how much I hate OTT drama, this has none. They didn't over-exaggerating everything and I liked it. Short and sweet office romance with naughty spices.

6/2/2022 — 2 stars. Not really sure wtf I was thinking the first time around. This novella sucks. It’s not cute, it’s stupid. The hero is a major manwhore who dated lots of OW while working with the heroine. He initially decides to fuck her once and pretend like it didn’t happen. He then leaves right after finishing. There was literally no reason for his sudden change of heart to want to date her… besides her not being a total pushover. Still, she was too much of a pushover for me just for giving him a chance in the first place. I wanted her to have some self-respect and just find someone who doesn’t treat women like shit.
Safe w/ Exceptions since they have known each other for a while and the heroine has pined away for him while the hero was a major player. This was a fast, funny and sexy read. We meet both Sandra and Gabe in Right. Gabe's Sawyer's partner and best friend and Sandra is his executive assistant.
Sandra has a hot crush on Gabe Laurent and has no plans to do anything about it. Until her desires accidentally become known and then Gabe decides to do something about it.
I can always count on Jana for humour, good banter and sexy times. Gabe and Sandra were entertaining and almost a tease because this is a novella. It doesn't go very deep into these characters but their chemistry is on. And the Alpha Gabe and good girl Sandra were hilarious, cute and steamy together.

Witty, sparkly, smutty and light, this is a fab short story about how a woman's office crush fantasy comes to life. I'd happily read more of this. The office banter reminds me of that clever, witty dialogue you get in a Christina Lauren book, and I adore Christina Lauren so this was right up my street.
A standalone complete story that's part of a series. I've got the next one on pre-order, looking forward to it, especially as it's a full length book this time. These one hour reads are not enough for me.

This short novella in the series follows the relationship between Sawyer's PA Sandra and his business partner the sexy (But Nerdy looking) Gabe. After a pretend sex survey gets into the wrong hands Gabe learns that Sandra has some very dirty thoughts about him so in true Alpha style Gabe decides to help those thoughts come true with a fling. Great characters, hot sex but this needed to be full length story for these two interesting characters.

All in a day's work...
I have never started and finished an audio in a day until I experienced Fling. I hit play this morning on the way to work and I finished just after I got home. How cool...I got a slam, bam, thank you máam all in one day. I knew this was going to be short and sweet, so I was surprised to be treated to a funny, sweet and sexy read, that left me very satisfied.
I had the dreaded...blushing, giggling and sniggering on the train AGAIN!! Seriously, it's getting embarrassing. People are starting to smile at me. I don't want strangers smiling at me. I need a cone of silence or an invisibility cloak or something.
This was a short story so for the life of me, I can't remember any of the characters names (we'll blame it on the story being short, not my SHOCKING memory). Anyways...Shy & Sweet has a huge crush that she thinks is her little secret. Crack-up Buddy is bored in a meeting and creates a sex survey for Shy & Sweet to fill out. Somehow, the survey gets in the hands of Hottie Crush...and he's intrigued. Could it possibly be Shy & Sweet?
There's nothing I like better than being pleasantly surprised by a wee treat. Fling is filled with a little kinky, some very mild spanky and plenty of frisky fun. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters better and I'm glad Ms Aston gave us a little more of their story. We got a glimpse of them in the other story (bad memory again). It's the one with the Quirky Chick who got her love interest wrong until she met Gorgeous Bossy Man. Gorgeous Bossy Man is Shy and Sweet's boss and Hottie Crush's business partner and best friend.
The narrators were great. I think it stands out more in a dual narration that a female has a wee bit more success doing a male voice than vice verse. I think the narrators voices suited the characters very well.
Trust is locked and loaded. Can't get enough of the Wrong bunch.

Oh, this story is absolutely perfect! Sweet, hot and funny. Almost too short, but well, it's a novella.
Because I want to be with Sandra. I fucking like Sandra. And I’m a goddamned idiot for thinking a fling with her would be enough.
I adored the characters and their story. It was nothing new or special, just ol' good office romance. But because I got to know the characters from previous books, it was a delight to read this one. Plus it was hot, so yeah.
I want to mention Preston, heroine's office friend, and show my appreciation for this gem:
“I have to pee, Sandy. I’m not gonna make it till the lunch break,” Preston whispers. He’s been fidgeting for ten minutes. I wish he’d just go already.
“So go,” I say in a low whisper. “We’re not captives.”
“You know I hate doing the walk of shame during a meeting,” he whispers disdainfully.
I shake my head. “For the hundredth time, that is not what ‘walk of shame’ means.”
“No one should be ashamed of getting it on with a hot stranger, Sandy. That is not shameworthy.” He shakes his head in disgust. “People should high-five in the morning and go home with their heads held high.”
“What do you suggest it be called then? If we as a society should be proud of our one-night stands we need to have a term for it.”

What a sweet little story! After reading Right I was hoping to get the 411 on Sandra and Gabe. Let me tell you, those two could not be any cuter together.
The fact it reminded me of a grown up version of Sixteen Candles, complete with all of the adult things I always wanted to do with Jake Ryan, hurt absolutely NOTHING!

Gabe was not at all what I was expecting. In Everly and Sawyers book I got the impression he was the nerdy, smart guy who doesn't know he's good looking. Boy was I wrong. Turns out he knows exactly what those glasses do to women.
Sandra was an awesome heroine. OMG did I love how Sandra brought Gabe to his knees. What's even more funny about this is she's what you would call a good girl. Slightly meek, very professional and tends to avoids drama. She did exactly what I want to see from a heroine who faces off with an arrogant hero.
Gabe may have started out as an alpha-hole but Sandra knew exactly how to handle him. Add in that Gabe's assistant, Preston was hilarious who added a lot of fun to this novella, but we also got to see more of Everly and Sawyer.
Oh and I listened to the audio version and loved the narrators!

If you read Wrong and Right in this series, you want to defiantly read Fling. We are introduced to Sandra and Gabe in Right. Everly kind of notice an attraction between these two and gets the ball a rolling.
It’s a great flirty short story of finding love in the office. And maybe gaining a little self-confidence to after her last relationship Sandra is a little gun shy, but Gabe sure helps that along.
It’s hella Hot and Steamy and fits right in with the rest of the series.
Again wonderful narration, I am a fan.
