I will recommend this book to all of you. This is one of the best biographies I've ever read.

The book gives a very elaborate details of the life of Mahatma Phule which could have been condensed to a shorter version. It highlights the important shifts which were there in the life of Mahatma Phule. Phule's movement from becoming a social reformer rather than becoming a nationalist is driven by his own experience from life. The book very beautifully describes the becoming of a Mahatma and is successful in maintaining it's neutrality in describing the action and words of Mahatma Phule as well as his contemporary reformers.
