ARC-BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-22/2/18

This was such an enjoyable read, Its the story of Lucy Baudin and Gideon Novak. When Lucy needs a husband to progress further in her job at a law firm she calls in a favour from former friend Gideon. Once the best friend of Lucy's former fiancee and also the one that broke the news of Lucy's fiancee's infidelities he is wallowing in guilt.
Not only did it take him a month to come clean to Lucy regarding her cheating fiancee and break her heart in the process he’s also been madly in love with Lucy for years.
So when she calls in a favour how can he say no.

Gideon is a successful headhunter but he can honestly say that this is the first time he has been asked to procure a husband for a client, not that it would stop him from completing this unusual task as he would do anything in his power to make Lucy happy. Additionally the fore mentioned ex-fiancee has done a massive number on Lucys self-confidence making her doubt her whole appeal and worth in all the ways that matter as a result of this Lucy asks Gideon to be her coach in all things sensual. He agrees on one condition he gets Lucy exclusively for the duration of these lessons. It's not long though before all the rules are being thrown out the window as the two former friends begin to connect in ways that Gideon has been dreaming of for years.

This was a fantastic read, it had such a flow and ease about it that I had no trouble getting lost here. It was easy to fall in love with both the main characters and I was rooting For Lucy to see Gideon as the only contender for her love and affections. They were both such easy characters to like and form a connection towards. Gideon's and Lucy's chemistry was explosive setting the pages alight with its intensity. It was refreshing to read a book where the characters laid themselves bare, exposing their vulnerabilities without any apology. There were few secondary characters here but what there were I found them great and they added an additional layer to the story. This delivered on all fronts and I recommend reading. I was provided with an ARC of "Make Me Want" By Netgalley of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Helllllooooooo Katee Robert.

Welcome! Glad to meet ya.

Sorry for the serenade but... THIS GIRL IS ON FIIIIIIIYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Still. While reading this I considered dialing a friend, because HHHHHAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!

Reading Make Me Want I more than once wished for a warning label and maybe my own personal freezer. Someone should put a blast chiller option on kindles. I needed one.

What prompted me to click the request button are:

(a) The dude on the cover kinda looks like Carter Dane so my first thought was, "why is CD on the cover of some MF smutticilicicousness?" which quickly segued into a brief episode of wish fulfillment along the lines of, "has CD decided to widen the playing field?" Then I expanded the photo and realized my mistake.

*epic sad face is epic*

Congrats, Alex Mecum!

*fake smile*
*grumbles*

(b) The main character's name is Gideon!

What? I have a name kink. Don't judge.

This Gideon is eerily reminiscent of another (also slightly Neanderthalish) Gideon I've lusted over read before and while Sylvia Day might take exception to the similarities, my thoughts are more akin to...

The story itself is not groundbreaking and rife with non/miscommunication with a heaping of martyr syndrome that I loathe. Lucy is up for a promotion at her good ole boys law firm and won't get it unless someone puts a ring on it. Gideon's a friend of her ex-fiancé and was once hers too, so that coupled with his reputation as a skilled headhunter, leads her to hire him to find her a suitable husband. His reputation as a sex gawd leads her to ask him for "lessons" on how to have the HILLY DILLY amazingly since her ex told her she was a bad lay. Can you say projecting, boys and girls?

Regardless, the boning is top-notch! On the couch, on a conference table AT A FANCY SCHMANCY CLUB, a naughty video chat, in a lingerie dressing room and they did make it to the bedroom a couple times. Gideon's also on the bossy/toppy side too! I mean...

Seriously, this thing should come with a complimentary box of wipes, a pack of cigs and some Gatorade.

I will most definitely be reading the next in this series. One-handed, but still. Now that I know what I'm in for I will be prepared like the devoted Girl Scout I am to see Roman getting his swerve on!

Recommend to... hells bells, you know who you are.

#RetoIntimo2019

Make Me Want by Katee Robert
Book One of the Make Me series
Publisher: Harlequin Dare
Publication Date: March 6, 2018
Rating: 4 stars
Source: eARC from NetGalley

Summary (from Goodreads):

“I want everything.”

She’s taking control. And it’s driving him wild!

Lucy Baudin’s ex did a number on her self-esteem, but it’s time for her to regain control. In her job as a lawyer she’s bold, confident. But in the bedroom she needs inspiration to reawaken her inner seductress. Asking her friend Gideon Novak for help seems wrong…yet so deliciously right!

What I Liked:

I don't know why I put off reading this book for so long! It was published nearly a month ago, and I kept pushing it off for some reason. Katee Robert is one of those romance authors that never seems to disappoint me, and I was definitely not disappointed by Make Me Want. This book was one of Robert's hottest books to date, and also one of the strongest, emotionally speaking.

Lucy Baudin and her ex-fiance split two years ago, and nothing has been the same since. Two years later, she is hoping to get a position at work, but her boss is very traditional and wants to see her married before promoting her. So she enlists her friend Gideon to help - he's a headhunter, and one of the best in the business. But she also wants his help in another way - she wants to have better sexual experience before going into her modern marriage of convenience. Gideon has always been a player and his reputation in the bedroom is legendary. But when it comes to Lucy, Gideon doesn't mess around. He has had feelings for her since he saw her at a bar six years ago - but his friend Jeff beat him, and Gideon would never break the bro code. Finding a husband for Lucy and giving her sex lessons? Shouldn't be too hard... right?

I don't love the "best-friend's-girl" trope - in which the hero is in love with the girl, but she's dating his best friend, boo hoo. BUT. I didn't hate it in this book! Dare I say, I actually think the trope worked here. Jeff cheated on Lucy and Gideon found out, and told her, though he waited a month to do so (for good reason - don't demonize him). When Jeff and Lucy split, Gideon and Lucy stopped being friends... and the whole time Jeff and Lucy were together, Gideon never made a move or a pass, he was always a gentleman (in the friend zone). So there was no cheating (Gideon and Lucy never messed around while she was with Jeff), and the story starts with Jeff and Lucy already having split up. This worked for me.

Jeff did a number on Lucy's sexual confidence, hence why she wants lessons from someone (Gideon). In the beginning of the book, Lucy is a little timid and shy when voicing what she wants in the bedroom. But by the end of the book, she is much more assertive. She states exactly what she wants, with full honesty, just like Gideon asks. I liked seeing this character development. I liked seeing a woman who can vocalize what she wants.

Gideon has always felt guilty for not telling Lucy sooner, about Jeff cheating on her. When she comes to him wanting a few favors, he agrees, partially because of the guilt he still feels. He always had feelings for Lucy, but never said anything, never tried anything. Gideon is so selfless in this book, and sometimes it got frustrating. He never voiced what he wanted, he always made everything about Lucy - which was good because it was all about Lucy and her crazy plan. I wanted him to speak up about what he wanted though, because he was setting himself up to get hurt in the process of achieving Lucy's plan.

But one thing I liked about this book was that Lucy started to realize that Gideon never vocalized what he wanted, he never made demands or lost control or anything like that. He always made everything center around her, which was good... until she realized that she wanted him as more than a friend, but she didn't know what he wanted. I liked that she realized that what he wanted mattered a whole lot, not just what she wanted. It's great to be assertive; but it's also great to listen to what your partner wants.

And that's something I think romance writers get wrong sometimes; the heroine can be brash and loud and outspoken, and demanding in the bedroom. That's cool. But she should also be listening to her partner too. It's not just about her and what she wants. It's good to vocalize what she wants. It's bad to never ask what her partner wants or never listen or pick up on the fact that he doesn't vocalize.

Anyway, Robert addressed this, which was good. I would have thrown the PROBLEMATIC flag all over this book, had she not. Healthy relationships are balanced, not one-sided to hear the woman roar (or whatever). I'm a feminist saying all of this. Don't be selfish. Don't be a silent accommodating doormat, but don't ignore your partner and put your needs/wants first all the time.

The sexy times were super super hot in this book. I feel like this might be one of Robert's hottest books, if not the hottest. There were sooooo many sexy times, for such a short book. I mean, it wasn't all sex, but I expected maybe three? There were more than three. And all of them were different, unique, and super steamy.

The ending has both characters turning around, realizing their mistakes, and realizing the other person's side of things. Gideon does some groveling, but Lucy also has to do some soul-searching, and she realized she was a coward as much as he was being a martyr. I liked this. It wasn't her being high and mighty, you-need-to-apologize-for-everything-because-I'm-not-wrong-in-this-situation. There was a mutual "I-messed-up-please-forgive-me".

All in all, I enjoyed this book. I had a great time reading it. I liked the tropes, I loved the steamy times, and I adored the ending.

What I Did Not Like:

I wanted to see Gideon lose a little of his tightly leashed control. He did in like, one scene? I know this book was more about Lucy, but still. Gideon is a living, breathing man - and a main character, at that. It should have been as much his story as it was hers.

Would I Recommend It:

I always tend to recommend Robert's books because they're super hot, addicting, and quick reads. This book is not exception. If you like steamy contemporary romances novels, this book (and any of her books) is a good one for you. It's somewhat short (though not too short) and there is a HEA!

Rating:

4 stars. I'm a little sorry I waited so long to read this book! I'm not sure what held me back. This sexy book should be on every romance reader's TBR! And book two - I can't wait to read Roman's story!

Make Me Want by Katee Robert is the first story in her steamy romance series Make Me, part of Harlequin’s new Dare Imprint. It’s a friends to lovers trope story with a hero tasked with finding a husband for the heroine only to discover he wants the role for himself!

Lucy Baudin’s last relationship ended in heartbreak when she discovered her fiance was cheating on her. Not only that, but he’d made her feel inadequate in the bedroom, dealing a blow to her self esteem. She’s an accomplished lawyer but to be considered for partner, her odds would be better if she wasn’t still single due to some lingering misogynistic attitudes among the old guard. Lucy’s not interested in the dating scene so she comes up with a better plan – hiring her friend Gideon Novak, an accomplished headhunter, to find her a husband.

The last thing Gideon wants is to play the role of matchmaker for Lucy. If things had worked out differently, she’d have ended up with him instead of his loser friend Jeff who didn’t appreciate what he had. Residual guilt over not telling Lucy about Jeff’s extracurricular activities in a more timely fashion means he can’t turn down her request. The trouble is he doesn’t think any of the men he knows are good enough for her. And when Lucy approaches him for some ‘practice’ in the bedroom to help curb her self esteem issues, Gideon can’t say no to that either. Now he’s got a dilemma on his hands. Having Lucy in his bed fulfills his wildest fantasies. Is he really going to watch her marry someone else?

Mediocre and painfully predictable, I felt zero things for neither Lucy nor Gideon; no real yearning, no burning chemistry, just two-dimensional fictional people. And then add the combined self-doubt and martyr complex of not one, but BOTH of them… 😑

“So, you’re carrying around a boatload of guilt, and playing the martyr and letting her try to move on with her life.” She shot him a look. “Martyrs aren’t sexy, by the way.”

UGH… seems only Lucy’s sister Becka knows what’s up.

There was definitely sex but this was not sexy IMO. Katee Roberts writes steamy hot AF romance but this truly isn’t one of her better books.

Looking for a relatively quick, steamily hot, contemporary romance - look no further, grab yourself a copy of this, the first in a new series from the highly talented Katee Robert!

At college, Lucy Baudin chose Jeff - the wrong man - to have a relationship with, she really should have looked no further than her friend Gideon Novak! Now she's asking him to be a matchmaker and to teach her how to not be boring in her sexual relationships. Jeff did a really great job of undermining her confidence and self-esteem and Gideon feels responsible for not protecting her from Jeff's cheating ways sooner. Gideon feels like he owes her, so agrees to help. That's just got to be the recipe for a brilliant friends to more romance with plenty of overt hot action packed encounters, some humour and, of course, love and misunderstandings to keep things interesting!

Katee Roberts is a skilled author, bringing her characters, scenarios and plot to life in the imagination of the reader. The story is only 159 pages long, but still manages to pack so much between the pages (or should that be sheets?). It is relatively light hearted, touches on the impact of an emotionally abusive relationship and shows how love can help heal the wounds such trauma causes. If you enjoy explicit contemporary romances, this has to be a great story for you to escape into!

I requested and received a copy of this novel, via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

This was another book that I'e read lately where I felt disappointed and that there are plenty of other similar books out there that are better. I enjoyed it but didn't really feel it gave me anything original. I couldn't really get into the characters enough to care. Sadly not one for me

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Make Me Want had a good set up. Lucy needs a fake husband so of course, the headhunter Gideon to take care of things but what they don't expect is that Gideon would very much like so to be Lucy's fake husband and teacher in bed. The story was set up in a way that I didn't really like it. It felt like Lucy was submissive in life and just going through motions, not really being her true self. I wanted her to embrace her life, take more control, instead of only thinking of temporary pleasures to satisfy her cravings.

Spoilers ahead and 3.5* rounded up

H saw h 6 years ago and was captivated by her , unfortunately his friend made the first move and he stepped aside as they fell in love and got engaged. He's been in love with her all those years and never sustained a relationship, instead having brief flings/hookups. When he realized his friend was cheating on the h it still took him a while to tell her, eventually he managed to and they broke up but his guilt made him not reach out to the h thus ending their friendship as well. 2 years later he's a successful headhunter and none other than Lucy wants to secure his services.....to find her a husband.

Lucy is a successful defense attorney but her firm is of the good ole boy mentality so in order for her to make partner she needs to get married. She contracts her former friend to aid her but also as he's a known Playboy.....to teach her bedroom tricks. After her ex cheated and subjected her to painful verbal abuse her self confidence is at an all time low and she hasn't been able to have sex since her last relationship ended. Things heat up as the h/H have fantastic chemistry but Lucy still goes on dates to find her ideal husband.

I enjoyed this a lot, I'm not a fan of my H loving my h but being with OW but in this case I understood, when they got together though the H was fiercely jealous and possessive just how I like em. The two had leap of the page chemistry that translated to hot as hell sexy times(always a plus) I had some issues with the h's confidence, I understood her ex did a number on her but I'd have liked to see her regain her confidence a bit sooner especially in her confrontation with him. She deserved to deliver one heck of a set down to her POS ex but nope she didn't. I wasn't a fan of the tiny separation at the end either, the H had been in love with her for so long I wanted him to fight harder for her at the end but thankfully they quickly came to their senses. Aside that I enjoyed this one and look forward to the other friends getting their own books.

He reído, he llorado, me he sentido como la protagonista y me he emocionado en general.

This book is by Katee Robert of ‘Your Dad Will Do’ fame, so I don’t know why I was surprised by how sexy it was. Whew, these two could get it! 🥵

It’s from the Harlequin Dare imprint, so a bit cheesy but very entertaining. For romance reasons, Lucy asks Gideon to find her a husband but also help her with sex lessons, and that’s basically the entire plot.

My only quibble was with the third act conflict, which felt a little forced/rushed, but overall it was a very sexy comfort read that prompted me to add 13 more Katee Robert books to my TBR.

Having read and enjoyed the second half of Katee Robert’s O’Malley series (I plan to go back and amend the fact I have not read the entire series), I was eager to dive into something new by the author. A new series meant I could follow a story through from the start, watching things unfold and allowing me to appreciate all the small details. Thus, I was more than happy to jump at Make Me Want.

I’ll be completely honest about this one – I was rather disappointed. Forbidden Promises, Undercover Attraction, and The Bastard’s Bargain set my expectations of Katee Robert much higher than what Make Me Want provided. Compared to the other Katee Robert books I have read, this one fell rather flat.

The story is much like many other romance books on the market, and I was constantly waiting for something to pop out and grab me. While there were plenty of steamy scenes to try and distract me, it was glaringly obvious there was nothing overly unique about this one. It’s a popular trope done well, but it isn’t anything special. It is enjoyable, but it will not blow your mind.

If I’m being brutally honest, there were points towards the end of this book where I started to skim events – I was holding out for something amazing, willing to skip parts in the hope of finding the good stuff. I enjoyed it, sure, but I couldn’t pick this one out of a line-up for other books in this genre. Whereas the O’Malley books I read had something that made them pop, this one falls into the shadow of other books.

Don’t get me wrong, I am interested in reading the next book in the series. I’m holding out hope that the next book will grab me more than this one did. I’m also interested in Katee Robert’s other new series, so this hasn’t put me off reading more of her work.

Make Me Want may not have been what I was hoping for, but it was an okay read to pass a bit of time.

I picked up Make Me Want so I could say I’d given Harlequin’s new(ish) Dare line a try. So now I’ve tried it. Once was enough. Probably never again.

However, I’m sure there are readers who might really enjoy this—obviously Harlequin didn’t start a new category romance line just for fun. Make Me Want is a quick love story that’s heavy on the romance and light on everything else. It’s erotica with a little bit of meat on its bones. And I do see the appeal—it’s just not my style.

Firstly, I was extremely put-off by the entire premise of the book. Lucy is a high-power defense attorney in New York City. She’s looking at a promotion to partner, but fears that she won’t get said promotion unless she has a spouse. Because the senior partners are all Good Ole Boys, I guess. She mentions that a single female coworker was passed up the year before, ostensibly due to her lack of a husband. So, Lucy calls in Gideon to help her find a man. As one does. They have a lot of sex and then fall in love. All fine and dandy.

Except, let’s rewind. It sounds to me like Lucy’s firm engages in discriminatory employment practices—not promoting otherwise qualified women because of their marital status/gender? Lucy, come on. You’re an attorney! FILE A GODDAM LAWSUIT. Helloooooo.

But instead of filing a lawsuit, Lucy just decides to pander to her sexist bosses and find herself a husband. Mkay. This doesn’t look to me like a strong, capable female professional whom I want to root for, you know?

Anyhoo. The rest of the book is pretty much just a parade of sex scenes between Lucy and Gideon. I think Katee Roberts writes good, steamy scenes. No real complaints about that. It’s just that I prefer some character building and interpersonal conflict to supplement my sexytimes. Erotic romance is, clearly, not the genre for me. And that’s okay!

So, at the end of the day, I’ve done what I set out to do: give Harlequin Dare the old college try. Make Me Want wasn’t a book that gave me much beyond a pleasant mental escape, but I can’t really say there’s much wrong with it either. For readers who like books about wealthy workaholics in the big city boinking each other silly, I bet this book is great. For me? Not so great.

I absolutely adore Katee Robert's books as they always deliver. It diesnt matter what genre she writes in (contemporary/erotica, suspense or mafia) I WILL read it. So when I saw she was writing a book for Harlequin's new racy Dare line, I could.not jump on this book fast enough! I loved Gideon and lucy. I thought their chemistry was hot and sexy and their connection intense. I could not get enough!

Lucy and Gideon have a history together. As the bestfriend of Lucy's ex-fiance, Gideon has been personally connected to Lucy for a long time. But when Lucy professionally contacts him for his headhunting abilities, it breaks all the rules. He must find this workaholic a husband and in the interim teach her all the ways to rock her future husband's world in bed. But when emotions get involved and lines get cross can Gideon and Lucy realize that what they giveaways wanted has been right in front of them all along?

I loved this story. I loved that their passion was so fiery and that the more time they a spent with one another they realized how great the other was. I did get frustrated with Lucy at times however as I felt she was so in her head all the time overthinking things. Likewise, Gideon's aboutface came out of nowhere and was SO random that I actually went back to see what I missed. But all in all It hought this was such a fantastic spin on a mathmaker/friends to lovers story and honestly hope we get Roman's story next!! But all in all Ithought this was such a fantastic spin on a mathmaker/friends to lovers story and honestly hope we get Roman's story next!!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Harlequin for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review! Bravo! 4 stars!

reading romances

“It would have ripped his still-beating heart out of his chest to smile and congratulate her on picking a man who’d do as a husband.”

There’s nothing better than a friends to lovers story, I simply can’t get enough of those! This standalone was engaging, fun and sexy as hell!

Make me want has a predictable plot, but the writing had a great flow and ease about it, and I can certainly say Katee Roberts delivered what was promised. I was impressed by Lucy and Gideon’s chemistry – it was explosive and intense! Lucy thought she needed a little help in the bedroom but what she really needed was a boost to her self-esteem and some confidence. Gideon was such a sweet hero, I was rooting for him from the start!

This book didn’t have a big plot twist, but I didn’t feel like it was missing, the story worked well without one. I’ll definitely read the next installment in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Make Me Want is Katee Robert's first novel in her new Make Me series for the Harlequin Dare imprint. I've only read a couple of her novels so far, and I have to say that among them, Make Me Want is my favorite so far, and it gets a 5-star rating from this reader.

The principle characters in this novel are Lucy Baudin, an up and coming attorney who has been moving up the ladder at her law firm, but realizes that if she wants the partnership she's been working toward, she'll need a husband to get it, since the firm is rather old-fashioned and looks askance at unmarried women. What can I say? It's the way the corporate world works, and I'm glad that Ms. Robert included that piece of reality in her novel. Lucy was engaged two years earlier, to Jeff, but broke it off when the man who was close friends with both of them, Gideon Novak, finally told her what he'd known for some time, that Jeff was cheating on her. Additionally, Jeff was highly critical of her, especially in bed, and so not only were her plans for a happy marriage burnt to the ground, so was her confidence as a woman, and she hasn't dated in the two years since the breakup, instead devoting her time and energy to her career. She's also not been in touch with Gideon in that time, and Gideon has felt guilty not only for being the bearer of bad tidings, but for knowing about Jeff's cheating for more than a month but not speaking up sooner. Additionally, Gideon has also harbored secret feelings for Lucy since the day they met. He stepped aside out of deference to Lucy's involvement with his friend, Jeff, but he still harbors feelings for her, even though they've steered clear of one another since the breakup.

As is happens, Gideon is one of the best corporate headhunters in the business, and he's shocked when Lucy contacts him and tells him she's in need of his services--she knows and trusts him and his business acumen, but when he shows up at her office, he's shocked by exactly what services she needs him for--to find her a suitable husband and soon, so that she won't be overlooked for the partnership opportunity that's that's rapidly approaching. When she finally talks him into headhunting for a husband, she further shocks him with one more request--she needs sex lessons. Her former fiance was less than enthusiastic about their sex life, and she wonders if it's her fault that he strayed. Gideon, she knows, doesn't do relationships at all, and he has the reputation as quite a womanizer, but a highly skilled one, and although he's hard to convince, she finally gets him to agree to teach her what he knows, as well as to find and screen potential husband candidates.

To say that both characters get far more than they bargained for in this deal is putting it mildly. The chemistry between these two friends is off the charts, heat being something I've come to expect from books in the Harlequin Dare series, but so is the emotional, physical and intellectual connection between these two characters in this friends-to-lovers romance novel. I loved the honesty and exclusivity that Gideon demands in this strange relationship, and I truly liked the fact that both characters were fully developed as equals in this relationship. Make no mistake, I love a good alpha male hero, but the tenderness and thoughtfulness with which Gideon and Lucy treated one another was incredibly refreshing.

While this trope is nowhere near a new one to this long-time romance reader, I found this novel to be more emotional, more smartly written, and more deeply involving, and it's progression from start to finish flowed more seamlessly, and was a much more sexy, smart and satisfying read than many other friends-to-lovers novels I've encountered over the years, and I simply cannot wait to read the upcoming novels in what promises to be an incredibly addictive series.

I voluntarily read and advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

There’s nothing better than friends find love for each other. It just really warms my heart when I read this trope and Katee Robert did a phenomenal job of making this engaging and fun and all around sexy!

For me, the best part of the story was the unique twist of Lucy having Gideon help her in the bedroom … Gideon has always wanted Lucy for himself so here’s his chance to rope her in completely, right?! I was super giddy reading all of this. It warmed my heart completely.

I’ve read quite a few books by this author and she honestly never disappoints. I’ve also now read five books from this new imprint by Harlequin Carina Press, DARE, and I am just highly impressed on all fronts!

Make Me Want caught my attention from the first page and refused to let go. Lucy approaches her ex fiancé’s friend for help securing a promotion she covets. When they are together the tension sizzles between them.

Lucy was my favorite type of heroine. Strong but shy, capable and determined. I loved her from the first moment, along with Gideon. I loved watching him and Lucy fall in love. He was understanding and so sexy. Gideon and Lucy were a fabulous balance for each other.

Overall, Make Me Want was a great read. I read it in one sitting, staying up half the night simply enthralled with the story. It was low on the angst and drama, but still able to hit you in the feels. The characters are fun and developed, I can’t wait for Make Me Crave!

This story is hot, steamy and fabulous, this one will have you grabbing a fan and a tall glass of water as hero Gideon Novak sets out to help friend Lucy Baudin find a husband and give her lessons in seduction or does Lucy end up seducing Gideon, this is a one sitting read you will not want to put it down.

Gideon works as a head hunter and is very good at his job he is not a party animal he has a few friends and when one from the past, one that he has never forgotten asks to meet with him and then asks him to help her find a husband of convenience and to help her with the finer points of sex and seduction he is gobsmacked, you see his feelings for his friend have always been strong and he feels a lot of guilt over what happened with her ex one of his friends so all he can do is say yes even though he knows he should be saying no.

Lucy has thrown herself into her job as a defence attorney after the break-up with her fiancé, she pulled herself away from her friends and has not had sex, but now she wants a promotion at work and being married will help, who better than to help but her old friend Gideon and the sizzling heat that sparks between them is not to be pushed away, as Lucy becomes the seductress and her fantasies are met.

This is a delicious story that had me turning the pages, I fell for Gideon right from the start he is so caring and gorgeous and will go out of his way to protect Lucy and it was taking a lot for him to control his feelings for her and seeing him open up to her in so many ways was awesome, and Lucy wow she is a lot stronger than she thinks and her prowess in the bedroom is a strong as in the courtroom I loved seeing her stand up to Gideon. MS Robert has written a story with fabulous dialogue and a connection between Gideon and Lucy that will leave the reader smiling, I highly recommend this one.

My first Katee Robert and it didn’t disappoint. I love a good ‘teach me’ type of romance amidst friends to lovers and all the complications with setting this friend up on dates with other guys and both of you realizing this person is your person.
The heroine was super insecure because of her last douchebag boyfriend so it was cool to see her grow out of that before it started to get on my nerves.
Really enjoyed it!

This story was so hot there were times I thought my kindle would melt. I always enjoy a good friends to lovers romance but this one has a different spin on it, you see Gideon and Lucy were friends during a period of time where Lucy was dating Gideon's close friend and they were even engaged to be married but Gideon always wanted Lucy but did the right thing and step aside. Well lets just say a LOT has happened in the two years they hadn't seen on another.
