"A mix of fear and happiness skittered through her. Garrett held her gaze, telegraphing some unspoken emotion with his velvet eyes. He moved toward her, slowly, cautiously, in the way he’d approach a skittish horse. His strong, cowboy hands cupped the sides of her face so tenderly, she thought she would melt. She knew he wanted to kiss her, and she also knew she’d let him." Linda Goodnight is a RITA award-winning, New York Times and Publisher’s Weekly bestselling author of more than 3 million books sold. Very short. Once I actually had time to sit down and read it, I finished in less than an hour. With books this short, there isn't enough meat to the story. If it was longer, there was an actual relationship told in this book, it would have been a lot better. But I was left feeling nothing other than disappointment.
In this the teacher Amy is basically dumb and stupid jeopardizing her life and love to not tell her cowboy the truth instead just being honest upfront about her secret. Did not finish because she is way stupid and this was not worth reading after that. I myself cannot submit myself to continue on in this very vane character. No need for it just tell him, don't lie and look and sound mean and worse. It would have been nice if she wasn't playing it up and false. Sorry, too bad it started well but the middle was bad because of her attitude and behavior. Want to rewrite it to cut the lies and bull, then it will be excellent and 5 Star. Oh well.
A Family for the Cowboy is a sweet novella with strong main characters involving foster father, Garrett, and his foster child's teacher. You will enjoy this quick read of how God can give us the desires of our heart but we need to be honest. I received my e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
A lovely look at families built in all kinds of ways. Seeing how the characters dealt with their past issues and addressing their future together was refreshing and not over fictionalized.
This is a wonderful story about a Amy who has overcome cancer but now needs to get herself esteem back. After her ex boyfriend said no man wants a half a woman. Garrett came back with his two foster sons. Can make he and the boys make her full loved.
Could anyone ever love you? Amy knows that she will never be able to have children after the cancer and she has accepted that she will always be alone. But Garrett has gotten her involved in the boys education and she has grown very fond of them but he wants more children and she can't have any. So she starts trying to pull away from them and she finds it so hard as she cares for them all. Can she be honest with Garrett about what has happened and she what happens? Or will she push him anyway further? Garrett can't understand why Amy is pulling away from him & the boys he thought that she felt the same way. So what has changed? Will they be able to work out their differences and become a family or will it tear them apart? A good read.
Going back to her teaching job after beating cancer was something Amy wasn’t looking forward to doing and then to acquire a new student with a sexy cowboy father about made her turn tail and run. Linda Goodnight’s A Family for the Cowboy gives us something we tend to not want to handle...disappointment, sickness, confidence, determination and selfishness. Garrett was a man that you look for and (in my lifetime) never find...loyal, trustworthy, gentle, kind and downright sexy! Together can they help each other heal and make a new life? God and life don’t always give you what you think you want but always what you need.
This was a wonderful little story, it's about love and when it happens we need to grab it. I love the story line of foster kids who need a good home full of love.
