38 books153 followersTom is the author and draws the original sketches for all the Stick Dog stories. He lives in Chicago with his wife, daughter and son. They also have a dog named Shadow. Tom did not want to name the dog Shadow. He wanted to name him ‘Put Your Shirt On.’ It’s a long story. Sometimes when Tom is visiting schools, he shares the story.
Tom’s first jobs out of college were in politics. He worked for U.S. Senator John Glenn and as the Chief Speechwriter for the Governor of Ohio. He has also worked in marketing and advertising. He likes writing books for kids a lot more than writing speeches and other things for grown-ups. He thinks kids are way smarter than grown-ups.
He LOVES writing the Stick Dog adventures.

Two Cats and a Baby
I think this is my favorite story of Stick Cat’s! Stick Cat and Ethel now live together with baby Millie. When the adults go out, Grandma comes to stay. This reminds me of when there is a new baby in the house, and the only child has to adjust.

I really like the Stick Cat series because it is always very entertaining. While this wasn't my favorite book in the series, it was still very creative and humourous. I find the interactions between Stick Cat and Edith amusing with Edith consistently leaning toward the absurd. I love how Stick Cat and Edith solve whatever new problem arises for them. My favorite section in the book was a conversation the two cats had about Edith's modesty. :)

LOL-> I love these stick cat series! :) I'm now checking out stick dog books from the library. These series are VERY humorous and funny! I liked how grandma got stuck in the bathroom and Stick Cat tried to rescue her, and how Edith kept giving Stick Cat stupid ideas, and Stick Cat got good ideas from these stupid ideas!

When Stick Cat and Edith's owners, Goose and Tiffany, fall in love, get married, and have a baby, Edith suddenly realizes she can't compete for Grandma's attention anymore because of the baby. But will she actually learn to like the baby?!? Edith was slightly less awful in this book.

Clever story and illustrations. Touches on themes of love, pride, jealousy, and bravery for possible read aloud/discussion. It's a fun book 🙂.
