★★★★★ "Awesome Hero's Journey With a Great Ending!" - Reader Review ___ Two Worlds, One Fight - Two Hearts, One Love. Every journey begins with a single step, like the first blade of grass at the foot of a vast meadow, or the rolling of stones that triggers a mighty avalanche. Take your first step into the Aeon Chronologies with this beautifully imagined tale of courage, unity, and unyielding love. Set in the Dark Zone, a large region in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. It has been the home of the Ravennites since the American Revolution. The Ravennites, a society of partial Native American descent, have lived untouched in the mountains of New York for over 200 years. But tensions between the peaceful Ravennites and an outside faction of Outsiders, who have lived in the Ravennites' territories for years, rise and eventually escalate into open war. Alex Lee, a young outsider find himself befriending the Ravennites and is called to help fight against the invading Outsiders. Join Alex Lee, a 14-year-old boy from the quaint village of Lake Placid, New York as he discovers a hidden, perennial civilization dwelling deep in the mountains of his own backyard!
This is an adventure fantasy story involving a secret culture hidden in the mountains. It is a little confusing for the first quarter as the author unfolds the backdrop and necessary exposition, but once that is done, the adventure begins as young Alex steps onto a steep learning curve to gain the combat skills he will need and show his prowess. Characterisation and world building are believable and convincing. I like a good ending this book has a good one. However, the book would benefit from a final edit to remove minor typos, formatting glitches etc.
Alex Lee is lost in the mountains when he stumbles upon a lost tribe of men called the Ravennites. He is basically thrown into their world and must prove that he is willing to help them. While there he forms a bond with Rowan despite her brother’s attempts at trying to keep her safe. But as the two grow closer they also are faced with some tough decisions.
This was a great read. I loved both Alex and Rowan. They are well written characters and I came to care for them. I hoped everything would work out since they were up against some serious diversity. I really liked following along as Alex learned to fight and was put to the test at the end of the story.
The only thing I had trouble with was the start of the book. It was slow to catch my attention. But once it did I couldn’t read fast enough. I did like how although this book was geared to the young adults anyone would enjoy reading it.
This is a great start to a new series and I’m really excited to see what happens in the next book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.
Ice Cold is a phenomenal adventure story like none other! I absolutely loved the concept of a secret culture hidden deep within the Appalachian Mountain Range! This story has it all: character development (a young teen finding himself and coming into his own), descriptive writing, a healthily growing plot, unfolding mysteries, intense action, a budding friendship/romance, and strong characters fighting the good fight for a noble cause. Upon first reading, I was a little confused between the jumping between settings, but after a quarter of the way through, everything came together and from that point on, I couldn't put this book down! The only negative are the abundant typos and improper verb tense from time to time. However, this is by far one of the most fantastic books I've read in a while, and I can tell it's the start of an incredible series! Can't wait for Part Two!
Awesome Hero's Journey With a Great Ending! Give Taylor Caley just a little time to set the table for this banquet and you will NOT be disappointed! Once Alex begins his adventure, the pace quickens, the suspense builds, and the combat begins. Alex, an outsider to a fierce group of warriors, must at first remain alive, slowly earn trust, and develop his skills in ancient combat techniques to prove his worth.
The final sequence of battles is very well constructed, researched, and described in exquisite detail. This book has an excellent, highly satisfying ending that has left me hungry for the next installment.
If you like a hero's journey, good old fashioned blood and sword combat, and well developed characters with deep motivations, this is the book for you.
This beautiful story talks about a boy named Alex Lee. He was brave and strong! Alex was lose in the mountains and was rescued by the Ravennites. He did a lot of activities there with the people and then he fell in love with a Ravennite beautiful girl named Rowan.
Poor Alex, he was ready to do anything to protect this Ravennite girl. This story is indeed a great one! You need to take some time and read what this author has written and get satisfied!

This author of this awesome book.is very talented and i know you will keep smiling as you read this beautiful book, he took.his time and wrote this book with great moral lessons for everyones benefit.
This book will help you learn of the danger Matthew, one of the main character found himself and how he was able to solve the situation. I cant wait to read more from you hopefully in the near future! I also love the style which the author used in writing, It is formal and suitable for everyone, young or old.
What more can i say? This book Keystroke Killer: Transcendence” is indeed a masterpiece of twisted deception. I would recommend this book to anyone. THANKS!
Ice Cold started at a slow pace and did a lot of scene setting. You get introduced to the main characters and the 'world' they are from. As the plot begins to unfold you will find yourself captivated and intrigued. Lost tribes, relics, magic, loyalty and mystery are just some things this book has to offer.
While slow going to start when it settles into its pace it becomes engaging and, at times, suspenseful. There is great growth and development shown by the characters in what becomes not only a battle of good vs evil, but a journey of self-discovery. A good start and foundation to the series.
This story is about a boy named Alex Lee. Alex finds himself lost in the mountains and comes across the Ravennites, a group of people living in the mountains. Alex learns about who they are and the danger they are in. He is put into a situation where he has to choose. Through all this he forms a bond with a Ravennite girl named, Rowan.
This story started out a little slow but got interesting as it moved along. I really enjoyed how the author threw in the backstory and the story of Ranger. I was pleasantly surprised at the end.
This is an interesting book. I rate it a 3.5 because it did take me quite a while to get into it. I liked Alex and Rowan. Alex was a very noble character. When he found himself lost and in the middle of a lost culture he'd never heard of decides to take up their cause and help defend them. Rowan is a strong girl who wants to do everything she can to help her people. Her brother tries to keep her safe and it drives her nuts. When Alex shows up they strike up a friendship and their lives will be changed forever. I think others will enjoy this book and I would say they should give it a try.
Wonderful!! Wonderful!! Wonderful! i must say this book is. I really enjoyed reading every single page of this book. Unlike other writers, This writer wrote this book for easy understanding by everyone!
This story really reach out to my heart and i love every word of it. I didnt find a hard time reading this book because it was very easy to read.
The story talks alot about love, care and protection although the characters faced some tough situation, they tried their best to succeed. I really think others will enjoy this book and I would say they should give it a try.
This is very entertaining. What a challenge for Alex, he has to grow up quickly when he accidentally walks right into a secret tribe. This close-tight community is very interesting and primitive. They constantly have to be ready to fight for their freedom to stay inside and keep the outsiders out. Their enemy is brave and determined to take their land, the battle is fierce and kept me on the edge of my seat in anticipation. It's kind of sad but great ending. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really struggled with this book. It was hard to get into and my copy had a lot of formatting issues. The story became much more interesting once I reached about chapter 4. I think I would read a follow up book just to see what happens next but it definitely wasn’t my favorite.
*i received this book free to review but all opinions are my own.
A journey that starts out slow, but works it's way to a epic adventure. Loved it, had a very different way of wrapping you up in the adventure of a kid named Alex Lee. He will soon no that his life can will stop at a fork in road. Which will he take? What of the Ravennite girl he met? Can he really help that and save what is their's?
this was a good story.. not my genre of choice.. but it was a very well written story and it was an interesting story. i enjoyed the characters and it was action packed and kept you on the edge of your seat.
