Purba Parvati by Prafulla Roy is set against the backdrop of remote regions of Nagaland and beautifully captures the lives, culture, and struggles of people navigating changing social realities. It feels deeply special to me, as my grandfather named me after a character he truly admired in this novel "Meheli".

"পূর্ব পার্বতী" আমার পড়া প্রফুল্ল রায়ের প্রথম বই।
বইয়ের বিষয় দেখে বইটা পড়া শুরু করি।কিন্তু বলা চলে হতাশ ই হলাম।৪৫০+ পেজের হিসাবে বইয়ের ভেতরে তেমন কোন তথ্য নেই যা আছে তা ১০০ পেজেই কভার করা যেত।
লাস্টের দিকে লেখক শুধু পৃষ্ঠা বাড়ানোর জন্য অযথা লিখেই গেছে যা অপ্রয়োজনীয় বলে মনে হয়েছে

নাগাল্যান্ডবাসীদের নিয়ে অসাধারণ উপন্যাস লিখেছেন প্রফুল্ল রায়। তবে মনে হলো এর একটা দ্বিতীয় ভাগ থাকলে ভাল হত। বসন্ত লাল যে প্রটাগনিস্টকে স্বাধীনতার মন্ত্রে দীক্ষিত করতে শুরু করলো এরপর কী হবে জানতে খুবই আগ্রহী ছিলাম। হায় , উপন্যাসটি হঠাৎ শেষ হয়ে গেল!
