The Dixie Warden Rejects MC #7

For the Love of Beard

Rate this book
Tobias knows that women are a lot of trouble, and one in particular is more trouble than most. Yet even with the knowledge that she’s a pain in the ass, he doesn’t stop himself from doing the one thing he knows that he shouldn’t do—fall in love with her.
It’s supposed to be simple. Get in, get the girl, and get out.

What Tobias isn’t supposed to do is fall for the woman he’s supposed to rescue. But he can’t help being intrigued–and amused–by the defiance rolling off Audrey every time he so much as speaks to her. This fascination only intensifies with every single word from her delectable mouth.

***

It’s been six years since her assault, yet it feels like it happened just yesterday. Audrey’s sick and tired of feeling so useless. She’s had enough of being scared, she doesn’t want to be all alone for the rest of her life. All of that boils down to a woman who’s had enough of not doing anything to reclaim her life.

She’s at a loss as to how to move on, and every attempt she makes results in failure. Just when she’s ready to quit, a sexy biker is there to push her out of her comfort zone.
Under Tobias’ patient guidance, Audrey slowly makes her way back to herself. She lands a job that she adores, and she thinks she’s finally found her place in this world. Most surprisingly, though, she finds herself falling in love with a man that honestly scares her to death.

Just when she vows to take that final step that’ll put her past in her past forever, the life she wants to live is yanked away. Leaving her with nothing to pick up the pieces.

Tobias has been crushing hard on Audrey since he was sent to protect her. The threat to her is gone but his interest in her has not waned. The one thing he knows is that she needs to break out of the shell she is hiding behind, he knows she was assaulted and she has made strides but he plans to push her a bit along the way.

Audrey never thought she would be interested in a man again, but Tobias is growing on her. She feels safe with Tobias and the more time they spend with one another, Audrey realizes Tobias will let her set the pace with what is building between them. Can she find a happiness in a life that had been filled with ugliness.

This may be my favorite in this series to far. I loved Tobias, he is gruff but at the same time so sweet where Audrey is concerned. I found his background story fascinating and hope that all the brothers get a story. Audrey is a spitfire and I appreciated she was just her, she didn't try to change who she was and when Tobias gets crabby does not back down. Wonderful read 5 bright stars.

4.5 'Healing Hearts' Stars

Hot damn! Lani Lynn Vale did it again, and I'm equal parts sad to see my LLV's FAV series go (though we know we'll get more at some point from the Dixie Wardens Rejects, yay) and so, so very happy, because For The Love of Beard, Tobias and Audrey story, really was the PERFECT conclusion for the series. A story of rebirth and healing at its very best, with Toby stealing my heart with the way he cherished and loved Audrey from their very first encounter! I Adored these two, their tale and all the feelings they created, so very much!
As we know from Beard Up – if you haven’t yet read this amazing story, you NEED to! – Tobias was sent to save and protect Audrey from a possible and terrible fate, what he hadn’t counted was to fall in love at the spot.

I was that annoying man who followed her around like a goddamned puppy.

It was the longest two days I’d ever experienced.
On the plus side, we got all her crap packed. The downside? I lost my heart.

Audrey, as we LLV’s fans know, is Tunnel’s sister, and was horribly sexually assaulted six years prior – Life To My Flight – and has sense retracted on to herself, just revealing a snappy and sassy persona, and kidding her true self, and protecting her heart behind steel walls.

Fully acknowledging all this and the rough path that laid ahead for him, Tobias took an amazing way to approach Audrey’s prickly demeanor, showing how much he understood and cared for her beyond everything else.

On the outside, I may look undamaged. But if it was possible to see to the heart of a person, mine would look torn, mangled and bruised.

Toby really was the perfect match for her in every way, and I couldn’t have pictured a better person to understand all that Audrey had been trough and its subsequent damaged. After all broken souls and damaged hearts is something his family is well versed in. Something that luckily Lani will allow us to explore in her upcoming new series, Hail Raisers.

Through a lot of patience, true love and care, Audrey’s soul slowly started to heal, and Toby’s heart, to his own surprise, gained a new life, in his love for her. They truly healed one another.

All of it was gone, and in its place was Audrey.
She surrounded me, filled my heart, and I never wanted her to leave.

And when Audrey couldn’t resist the handsome, tattooed and bearded biker, that was a standing feature in her life, anymore, and gave in to their attraction, and let go, it was everything and more that Toby could have wished for, so much more. It was explosive!

He plundered my mouth, his tongue tangling with my own, as he claimed me.
And it was a claiming. Everything in that kiss told me exactly what I needed to know.
I was his. Now. Tomorrow, and next week. He wanted me, and I had to either accept it, or fight.

Once that line was crossed there was no stopping them, and oh boy, were they HOT!!! Prepare yourself, because this book has the steamiest sex scenes in any of Lani Lynn Vale’s book! *cue fanning myself*

Until then, I’m going to be the best roommate you’ve ever had.”
“A roommate with benefits?” She started to chuckle. “Will you sneak into my room at night and have your dirty way with me, Mr. Dixie Warden Reject?”
I grinned widely. “Yeah, but you won’t be leaving my bed after we’re done.”
“Why is that?” I turned my serious eyes back to the road, too.
“Because you won’t be able to feel your legs until morning.”

And their banter! It was so incredible awesome and hilarious at times! I’ll say it again, and again, truly PERFECT MATCH!

I was more than aware of the consequences. I’ve attended nine police officer funerals in my years as a cop. I knew better than she did the sacrifices we had to make each day, and the possibility of putting that shield on over our hearts one day, but not the next.
As per LLV usual we have all those suspenseful, hilarious, steamy and emotional moments, as well as a touching sensibilization for the hard and dangerous reality that is working in Law Enforcement. Lani’s main characters, are, imo, so incredibly enticing for the realism in which she portraits them, and Tobias and Audrey are the perfect example of it. I loved them beyond words, and I’m said to see these Rejects go, but I’m sure this isn’t the last of we’ll see of them. Now, counting down the days until LLV’s new series and their first installments, Pitch Please and Hail No! Lani’s really spoils us rotten, and I couldn’t love her more for it! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

There were a lot of people in love in the world, but only the ones who truly felt it the deepest, and were willing to fight for that love, were the ones that stayed together.

“I love you, Audrey Morrison, soon-to-be Hail.” I squeezed his neck tighter. “I love you right back, Tobias Hail.”

I love all of Lani Lynn Vale's stories but I can 100% say that Tobias and Audrey's story is her best yet! Audrey has been through a severely horrific ordeal, an ordeal perpetuated at the command of the people she should be able to count on to protect her at all cost.  Six years later and the incident still controls her life and keeps her from "living" she's just going through the motions, until Tobias comes into her life. Something about him makes her want to let down her guard and try to live again.  Losing his two sisters has made Tobias never want open his heart to love a woman, until his friend Ghost sends him to rescue his sister Audrey.  Since the day he arrived on Audrey's doorstep Tobias cannot stop thinking about her, he knows that she is the one for him and even though he shouldn't pursue a relationship with her he decides to go for it.  Knowing what Audrey has been through he takes it slow and eases her into trusting him.  At first Audrey is sarcastic and snarky towards Tobias, he puts up with it and just continues to pour on the charm, romance and patience Audrey needs to open up and let herself be loved.  Oh and the chemistry between the two is combustible!!!

For the Love of the Beard is an exceptional story of healing, family and the healing power of love. Watching the relationship evolve between Tobias and Audrey is a heartwarming, funny, emotional and an amazing magical experience.

While I'm sad that For the Love of the Beard is the end of the Dixie Warden Rejects series, I'm excited to see what Ms. Vale gives us next. I'm hoping somewhere down the line we get someone for Big Poppa (As I typed that Biggie's "I Love it When You Call Me Big Poppa" played in my head).

I loved this book seeing Audrey and Tobias get their happy ending was so perfect and seeing this series come to an end(I'm assuming was sad) but I love that we see some characters that will be getting a new series. Like with all the books in this series I blew through it, I didn't want to put this book down and in fact I didn't unless I had to. Tobias was an amazing hero he is strong, possessive, caring and perfect for Audrey. After all Audrey went through she needed a special hero and she got that in Tobias. He was patient when he needed to and knew exactly how to draw her out and more importantly how to make her feel safe and loved.

I can't recommend this series enough I'm so sad I don't have any more to read but I am happy with all the new books coming out from Lani Lynn Vale. We get to see a lot of the previous characters and it was great to see them in this book. I especially loved seeing Ghost and Mina in this book. There's just something about this author. I of course love her stories and the characters she has created but I just love her books tone and voice they just flow for me and are just what I am always looking for . I can't wait for whatever she has coming and thank goodness I still have some old books to read from her.

Oh how I love thee, Tobias and Audrey what a great story. I am so glad she gets an HEA she really deserves it.

I loved it from the beginning to the end. I did feel them getting together was a little fast but really I think she was ready and he was just the perfect fella for her.

Both of their pasts shaped who they are and since they both have some scares it works.

I loved the narration I am so looking forward to the next book like you have NO idea.

DNF for me.
I was excited to read this one. Liked the sample enough to purchase the book for $3.99, but by 45%, I was so bored.

The H and h go on a cruise and basically have sex and eat. It was so bland. No drama, no real suspense. Everything was so "nice-nice". What happened to the hero's sister and then to the heroine was awful and I wanted to connect, but I didn't. I love reading stories that involve abused and traumatized heroines and overprotective heroes, but nothing was happening. It was too quick how everything just felt easy. Maybe the frequent switch in dual POVs is what was the issue. I knew immediately what and how each MC was feeling. Maybe something happens later, but I need something before 45% to keep me interested.

I also got tired "talking/thinking" about the heroine's weight - 175 pounds (Loc 23%) and her thighs..‘thick thighs save lives’?” (Loc 23%).

This did not work for me, but may work for you. I am not sure if I have just become a pickier reader or these types of blander and so oh-sweet romances with no drama are what will be the thing now. I remember buying romance books and just getting so involved in the characters and stories that I did not realize that hours have gone by. I also remember looking at the percentage on my Kindle and thinking how disappointed I was that the book was almost over. I looked at the percentage in this book and thought "I am only at 30%...ugh?!?!?" I want to get lost in a story.

I also should have noticed that majority of the reviews on this book are ARCs.

This is my opinion. Reading is subjective. You may love it.

Bloody. Hell! I'm in between crying and laughing after reading the last book of this series that I fell in love with ever since Lani Lynn Vale told Aaron and Imogen's story m Beard Mode. NNow with Tobias and Audrey's story, I'm both incredibly satisfied at how it all ended and sad that I still don't know if Big Papa will find his very own 'old lady'.

4.5 sexy dreams

I never knew that I liked bearded men, but I find myself in a conundrum.... Do I ask my S. 0. to start growing his very own? Anyways... My heart tripled in speed man than once and I laughed, as much as Ihad to Sean and Naomi's story [ in the fourth instalment] and that's really hard to do considering I spent most of it laughing like a lunatic! Tobias and Audrey are perfect for one Another and I loved watching them do for each other what no one else had been able to do so far: make them smile an actual happiness. I look forward to grabbing Lani Lynn Vale's next reads so I can obsess on another series!

5 SMOOCHES!

I adore Lani Lynn Vale and all of her books, but this series—the Dixie Wardens Rejects—has quickly become my favorite of hers. I’ve honestly loved each and every single book, and while I’m completely fulfilled and pleased with how the series concluded, I’m also sorry to see it end. You could just tell from her writing, the ease with which these stories seemed to be told, that Vale herself enjoyed this series as well. I don’t think I’m alone in the hope that she revisits the Dixie Wardens in the future, so fingers crossed that we get more at some point!

Audrey had some seriously painful demons to overcome before she could fully commit herself to a relationship with Tobias. But she didn’t let that stop her from pursuing a friendship with him, which is exactly where this couple began. Full of sass, funny as heck and one of the strongest heroines Vale has ever written, Audrey was done living under the cloud of her traumatic past. I was in awe of this character who, despite her fears, saw her future with Tobias, allowed herself to trust in the safety she felt with him and took the steps to move toward that future with him.

An Alabama Highway Patrol officer and a member of the Alabama chapter of the Dixie Wardens MC, Tobias was immediately smitten with Audrey. But Fender, as he was known to his MC brothers, knew all about her history, and he played it smart by taking it slow and following her lead. The gentle way that he handled her, without an ounce of pity, made this hero particularly endearing to me. They may have started out as friends, but there was always an attraction simmering between them, and when they finally did come together, it was incredibly hot. I loved this couple so much, and they’re one of my favorite Dixie Wardens couples. Playful, sexy and sweet, this pairing was one of Vale’s best yet.

For the Love of Beard really was a perfect ending to the series. It flawlessly capped off a series that started out strong and only got better with each successive release. After the highly suspenseful lead-in and drama of the previous book, Beard Up, Tobias and Audrey’s story was a bit of a softer landing and just the thing that Vale’s readers needed to ease themselves out of Alabama. Cover-to-cover, this book was an absolute pleasure to read. Lani Lynn Vale’s For the Love of Beard gets five smooches from me!

The last one in the series… *sob*

I love this series about family, love, loss, hope and the tie that brings it all together, of course, beards! Tobias and Audrey get their story and it’s almost fitting that it is the last in the series as they personify all that is good about their blended families…

Trauma and grief, loss, have contributed to make them both wary yet all too aware of how fleeting happiness can be. When they finally realize they can act on the feelings and chemistry they both feel, all the goodness that life hasn’t been able to destroy is on full display. And along with that is the humour, sarcasm and protectiveness that are hallmarks of any of this author’s reads.

Despite what she has gone through, Audrey is surrounded by love from her brother and his extended family. She could have easily been a dark, bitter character but instead she faced her fears in a real way that I couldn’t help but admire. With Tobias in her corner, she was led even further out of her shell. And everyone deserves a Tobias – sweet, protective, sexy and always with an eye to giving Audrey exactly what she needs. Whatever that might be…

“Yeah, but you won’t be leaving my bed after we’re done.”
“Why is that?”
“Because you won’t be able to feel your legs until morning.”

Be prepared for heat and heart as they skirt deadly challenges to their relationship even as they try to work out their problems. Together, they can accomplish anything and that is what I call true love…

Drama, romance and humour in spades, the snappy snippets had me smiling as always. And smiling some more:

“Coffee doesn’t ask silly questions. Coffee understands.”

I need to take a moment – well, a few moments - to let it sink in that the Rejects series is now over. IT’S OVER!!! …. ….. ……

Okay then. Where is the next book/series by this author????

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the brilliant Lani Lynn Vale, so I'll say it again, there isn't ANYTHING that she releases that I don't LOVE A TON! And For the Love of Beard is no exception at all! See, "it was supposed to be simple. Get in, get the girl, and get out," for Tobias, but he did what he wasn't supposed to, fall for the woman he rescued. No matter how hard she tries to push him away, he doesn't let it phase him, and instead he's entertained by Audrey, in all of her defiance. It's been 6 years since her assault, and she's still scared around men, except Tobias. Under his patience, she slowly comes back to herself, and falls for the biker. But just when her fear is gone, and she gives in to him, life once again, tries to take everything away. Seriously, I just want to give every detail away, so instead, I kinda just added my own voice to the description to keep the spoiler douchery at bay. Tobias has just put himself on my list of bikers that I LOVE LOVE LOVE, as he's an alpha, but a respectful alpha with a big heart. And Audrey's pain seeped out of my kindle, so I physically felt her pain, although I was highly entertained with her attitude. Together, they were perfect, and lit the sheets up with their fiery flames! And of course, the colorful cast of secondaries kept me laughing. Another huge hit from the uber talented Lani Lynn Vale, but it wouldn't be one of her stories if there wasn't a big twist that kept the colorful metaphors flying around! So, yeah, it stands to reason that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this NEW EPIC goodness to ALL!

Why oh why does this have to be the last book in this series! I am both sad and excited. Sad because I have loved every single book in this series and am not ready to let go of some of my favorite bearded Dixie Warden Rejects. I am excited because I know this means we will be moving onto a new series which I know I will love and that we will see the guys again but sometimes we wish a series could go on forever.

For The Love Of Beard was funny, sexy and emotional just like all the rest but I think due to the nature of Audrey’s history it made it even more so. I loved the way Tobias aka Fender stuck around and made ways for him to work himself into her life and her heart. He alone made me love the book because of his love, patience and protectiveness was exactly what Audrey needed. I love that these tough cops, firemen, EMT’s and bikers all fall hard for their women and will do whatever it takes to keep them safe.

Normally I will sit and absolutely devour one of Ms. Vale’s books in one sitting but I made sure to savor and drag my reading out over a couple of days because I just wasn’t prepared to let these characters go, I am still not if I have to be honest. For The Love Of Beard was an amazing conclusion to an amazing series and this book whore can’t wait to get her hands on the next book Ms. Vale releases.

Lord have mercy on my soul, Lani is trying to kill me. That whole wedding scene I spent in a ball chortling with laughter, tears streaming down my face and I could not catch my breath. That is one of the funniest things she's written to date apart from Payton's fart scene in Another One Bites The Dust .. that one is yet to be topped.

The story is definitely touching on very sensitive subjects and at times is a lot to take in emotionally. Lani never fails to amaze me with her sheer talent of always writting something so completely original and authentic to her. I get everything in her stories from absolute heartbreak and bone deep anger to eye watering belly aching laughter. I fall in love with her charters, I root for them, get angry at them, laugh with them.. at them and at the situations they find their selves in. I cry at their heartbreak and get so angry I could launch the kindle into space. I feel every time I read one of her stories wether it be the 1st of 100th time I've read it. This is no different.

Tobias, oh lord that man. He broke my heart. His story wasn't what I expected and it knocked the wind out of me. He's experienced so much horrendous heartbreak I was shocked. His personality wasn't what I expected, I guess I thought he be more of an asshole to begin with however he was the total opposite to Audrey. He was so sweet, patient and understanding. He's the definition of the perfect book boyfriend for sure. I love when his alpha badass protective side came out! Man does he great your blood pumping. He had so many side to his personality it truly was a pleasure seeing him unravel through the story. His personality stood true throughout however he had great character growth.
Audrey again broke my freaking heart. She may be a little broken but she fought her fear with everything she had. Although she had the most horrific thing happen to her she wasn't about to sit down and give up. I've loved that snarky feisty attitude she had, strong to the core but also super sweet and understanding to Tobias she truly was the perfect fit for him in every way. She cracked me up. Some of her one liners are belters! And again that wedding scene!!! I'm laughing just thinking about the whole thing again. I love that we get to see her grow into herself again throughout the story, find herself and not be afraid. She's such a great character.

I love them both individually as much as I did them together. Their chemistry, their humour and eventually their hilarious arguments. Every just fit with them, two halfs to one whole for sure. Their romance was a slower build to Lani's usual, but it fit them. I absolutely adore that they had a friendship first. I love the random outings and hilariously awkward sexual tension they tried to avoid.
The side characters again are nothing short of brilliant! It's always a pleasure getting to hear from old face's aswell as meeting new ones. Their are so many little hints dropped about future happenings that it's got me on edge knowing ima have to be waiting what feels like ages. Gimme gimme pleaaaaasase!!!.
I'm not afraid to beg.... Desperate times an all.

Gahhh. So many thoughts yet I can't get my head screwed on enough to make sense of most of it. Just know this book is absolutely brilliant as per usual.

I'm yet to dislike a book from Lani. I may be slightly biased however her books truly are brilliant and I pre order them all. Even if by a miracle I was sent an ARC... I can guarantee I'd still buy the book because that's how good she is. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. Can't wait for what's next after those cheeky teasers at the end of this.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, suspense, secrets, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Beard Mode (The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC #1)
Fear the Beard (The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC #2)
Son of a Beard (The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC #3)
I'm Only Here for the Beard (The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC #4)
The Beard Made Me Do It (The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC #5)
Beard Up (The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC #6)

This is Audrey and Tobias’s story. Audrey has dealt with horrible men in her past. She is still trying to deal with some of her past issues. But living with her brother is helping but it is helping her as much as it should? When Tobias get her to come out and do activities in the public she is afraid she is not going to be able to handle it but with him she feels safe. Tobias has been drawn to her since he was sent to get her and bring her to her brother. He knows about her past but also knows she is strong and sometimes just needs a little push to start living again. But what happens when you finally start to live again and the reason you are starting to live is ripped away? Can you try to keep living? Or will you just want to give up again?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Lani Lynn Vale’s Dixie Wardens’ bikers, it’s that when they go all in, investing everything that they are and giving everything that they have to give, nothing and no one will step them from claiming who or what they want, even if it’s a pain in the ass she-devil who’s supposed to be off-limits simply because she’s one of his biker brother’s sister.

Vale makes it perfectly clear, early on in her stories, that there are significant reasons as to why her heroes distance themselves from love, illustrating just how much their pasts define their futures when it comes to relationships. But what’s just as plainly shown is the fact that when these alpha bikers find the one woman they’re willing to risk their hearts for, they’ll stop at nothing to do right by them, fighting their own darkness as well as the demons their women are struggling with and making both of their lives about so much more than simply existing.

For the Love of Beard is Tobias and Audrey’s story, and it follows the bumpy path of their relationship…starting with the fact that neither want to like or be drawn to the other one when Audrey’s brother, Tunnel, needs Tobias’ help in protecting Audrey from the very people who are supposed to love her. Tobias and Audrey’s hearts are both irrevocably damaged due to other people’s actions and their fears have forced them to keep to themselves, never risking being hurt again. But as much as they’ve tried to fight their attraction to each other and their ever-developing feelings, when they’re together…when Tobias is forcing Audrey out of her comfort zone and bringing her back to the land of the living, it’s clear that they help each other to live again…to trust again…to love again and despite the obstacles, both from their pasts and what they struggle with currently, Tobias swears to protect her from the darkness and in keeping that promise, he gives himself the chance to learn that love doesn’t always end in tragedy and the idea that if Audrey can survive what happened to her, he can endure anything with her by his side.

There are some heavy issues addressed in Tobias and Audrey’s story, and Vale does a good job of handling those subjects with care, illustrating the psychological problems that occur with dramatic situations like the ones that Tobias and Audrey face. Tobias is an exceptionally patient man when it comes to Audrey and he knows exactly what to do to get her out of her house…out of her shell and back to living like she was meant to be. Vale doesn’t rush Audrey’s feelings for Tobias; in fact, the pacing is laid out in a way that readers are privy to how Audrey processes what she feels for Tobias and how she understands her body’s reaction to Tobias are positive compared to what’s she’s felt before. It’s still not easy for Audrey to give herself to Tobias, but he’s able to read her expressions and her body language in order to take the steps he needs to claim her as his woman.

Lani Lynn Vale continues to capture my attention with each new biker’s book because along the way, readers have already met the next alpha male, so that insight allows their prior knowledge to come into play and then solidify as Vale develops the characters and their new plot line. What’s also great about continuing a series is that Vale always brings old characters into the current story line, so it’s like they’re catching up with old friends and allowing more into their family circle.

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

Six years ago Audrey was assaulted and the worse part of it, its by people that was suppose to protect her and care for her. But then her brother, who she didn't know was alive, came for her by sending Tobias to bring her home.
Tobias didn't want another women to care for, both his sisters died and he didn't want another women to care about. But then he met Audrey and he knew right away that she was perfect for him.
Audrey didn't know if she could trust Tobias, but the more time he spent with her, the more he didn't give up on her she started to fall for him.
Besides Audrey's past and her moving on, there is another threat that they wont even see coming.

I loved this book, it was funny, sweet, dramatic and I loved Tobias. Loved that he was patient with Audrey and took his time to make her fall in love with him. And the chemistry between these two was sizzling HOT

I hope this is not the end of this series, I can't wait for more

5 Healing Stars!

Wow! Just wow! For the Love of Beard is the seventh and final book to the Dixie Warden Rejects series and what a finale it is. I didn’t think LLV could top Ghost’s book, but man! She blew me away with Tobias and Audrey. From page one I was totally engrossed in this book. Tobias is an Alabama Highway Patrolman, a member of the Dixie Wardens, and burdened by his own demons. Audrey is one of the strongest characters that LLV has ever written in my opinion. She truly thinks she’s broken, but she’s the opposite and the love that grows between her and Tobias is nothing short of amazing.

They both have seen and been through so many tragedies, but are both so much stronger than they give themselves credit for. The chemistry between these two is combustible, but Tobias knows everything about what Audrey went through and the patience he has with her is heart melting. This book has all the things I love...the forbidden love (she’s Ghost’s little sister), the friends to lovers love, and the two broken characters who heal each other love. Gah! I just can’t say enough about how much I loved this book! It is, by far, my favorite of this series. As with all of LLV’s series, I hate to see it end, but I know the next one will be just as amazing! Bring it on, I’m ready!

I love love LOOOOOOOVE Lani Lynn Vales books they always have something you would find in a good story characters you fall for , story lines that are refreshing while keeping you one your toes , hilarious banter , and passionate/tastefully done sex scenes we also get to see a couple that I adore from Code 11 KPD Swat series . This can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest that you read life to my flight and beard up to better understand the heroine while you are doing that you should also get all of Lanis books to binge read . Audrey did such a great job with being the heroine she's nice , funny , spit fire , and would do anything for the ones she loves . Tobias is pure lani alpha hero so sweet , funny , doesn't like to brake the rules witch is funny because the heroine helps him rebel some times and dirty talker of course adored the way he is with his niece such an adorable little girl and can't wait to see more about his brothers . They are just amazing together he's so big (wink) and she's so tiny they protect one another and just make since . The first sex scene is really really hot Audrey really likes to tempt and tease the hero when he tries so hard to be good and patient . Can't wait for the next book I'm so excited to see what's to come and meet new characters along the way .

When Tobias or Fender as the club calls him shows up at Audreys door to take her to her brother and safety,he wasn't prepared to be met with a hostile greeting. Audrey dosen't trust easy and men are are high on her no trust list.Once packed and moved Audrey gtes settled into her new life, but she still can't come out of her small shell of a world. Tobias can't seem to stay away from Audrey he is drawn to her,he decides to ask her to attend a Concealed Weapons class, she hesitates but then jumps at the chance to go.. Tobias is worried that being with Audrey will cause a problem with her brother whom he promised to stay away but he just can't. When his job as an officer of the law enables him to win a cruise he takes Audrey, the sparks fly and the love blossoms as well as Audreys trust and confidence with Tobias. Will the love they feel for each other endure the wraith of Tobias past,or will it ruin them. I Love this series I will be sad when it comes to an end.

Thoroughly enjoyable read.

I love that the focus of this story is on Audrey and Tobias as a couple. Yes, there is some drama but it is a ultimately a romance story. Tobias is just the man to help Audrey overcome her demons and she helps calm his. I loved these two.

Audrey is Ghost's sister and was "rescued" from her parents in the last book. Her life changed in an event orchestrated by her father. She is determined to live again and Tobias is by her side helping the whole time. Tobias has some tragic events in his past as well. His family has suffered some great losses (PS Lani - want more of these men!). Can these two overcome events of the past? Will the past come back and ruin all they are trying to build? What happens when her brother finds out a line has been crossed? You want to read this story and get all the answers.

As with Lani's stories there are some great one liners and I absolutely love the headings of each chapter.

T-Rex

I don't know where Lani Lynn Vale comes up with these things. She had me laughing out loud in parts and about ready to throw my kindle in others.

The ride she takes us on with Tobias and Audrey is an awesome one. Lani takes you on a journey of how two broken people find the safety in one another and realize that they both want things they didn't realize they even wanted.

Love the Dixie Warden Rejects each and every broken but strong one of them!
Tobias and Audrey Yep I knew they would be together. They just had to get over the bumps and bruises of their pasts. They were too perfect not to be together. They fit and they fixed each other and I LOVED watching it play out!!!

Having so much fun!

I start each of your books with " I wonder what she's done with these characters??
You manage to make your stories personal, fun, sexually interesting, exciting and most
of all you don't insult the readers intelligence.
So....thank you.

Loved this story!! Tobias & Audrey were funny, sassy & alpha. Their story was sad, but turned into so much more. Audrey is a strong woman who finds a guy who helps her move on with her life.
